At my work, a Seagate hard drive went dead unexpectedly (PC unable to boot up, no prior problems…read morereported before it happened). The end user had no specific file targets but wanted to recover as much as possible, in no particular rush. Secure Data Recovery did a great job and I will recommend their services to others! If the files are important to you and they are on a dead hard drive, at least go ahead with the free diagnostic service to find out the type of damage and what they think can be recovered - the diagnostic service doesn't commit you to the recovery service, and, at least in my experience, I found the customer service to be friendly, straightforward, and not at all pushy. We could have stopped after the diagnostic and received our damaged drive back. How it played out for us: I first called to ask about their data recovery services, and was told that the cost might be anywhere from $500 to over $2000, depending on the type of damage found. Prepaid FedEx shipping was provided for overnighting the damaged drive to the company's lab in Ohio (I opted not to make a trip from the suburbs to the local Washington DC area office where I could have dropped off the damaged drive). After six days, we received the free diagnosis. Unfortunately, it was "severe platter damage" for which the data recovery cost is on the high end of the quoted range. Work approved the expense and we went ahead with it. Mr. Wright explained the details of what we could expect from what they call a "raw" data recovery. After eighteen days, the data recovery was completed and we were sent three detailed lists of the recovered files: approximately 17000 raw files, 8000 good files, 6000 bad files. We chose to buy a new storage drive from Secure Data Recovery to hold the recovered data (I opted not to send a drive of our own to the lab but that was an available alternative) and in three days the new USB drive was delivered by FedEx to our office. Frederick Wright was the representative who handled our case from beginning to end with excellent customer service throughout the process--always friendly, professional and patient, at first in describing the overall process and later when explaining subsequent steps and options to me, since I had to handle the authorizations/payments and explain the process and anticipated results to the end user. Mr. Wright was reachable and responsive by phone and email, and I also appreciated the customer-friendly features on the Secure Data Recovery website that allowed a customer to request status updates, send notes to the service rep, and see times and dates of status changes and of authorizations submitted. The online digital signature process needed at several steps in the process was super easy - I loved being able to sign and return documents without printing on paper, signing, and scanning first. Had it been my own personal data, I might have stopped after the diagnostic, but that would be because I do regular backups and so the loss would be small, probably not worth the cost. But, stuff does happen sometimes, and if my most recent non-backed-up files were really important and on a dead drive, then I would go with this company to attempt the data recovery.

Daniel told me that I needed an original charger which I bought. That didn't help and Daniel told me to send it back to him which I did, (I live in Florida). I spent 350 dollars for the IPOD and another 35 dollars for the charger. When he received it he told me that there was nothing wrong with it and sent it back. It continued with the same issues so I took it to a local repair shop. I spent another 95 dollars and they had to replace the battery and it needed a new flex cable. I was desperate for a company to recovery my files, and I came across Data Recovery New Jersey. What set them apart from other companies is that they fix hard drives IN HOUSE, meaning they do not ship it out elsewhere to get fixed. I wanted to hand deliver my hard drive directly to the source, and I was able to do that. Larry was great to speak with, he's super knowledgeable and helped me understand the possible issues & how they'd go about repairing it. From speaking via email to meeting in person, he was very thorough and made me feel like my hard drive was in good hands. The repair took around 2 weeks (I wasn't in a rush to get it repaired, I told him it can be put on the back burner as long as it got done). I had him ship my recovered data back ($20 shipping fee, $70 for a new hard drive for him to put my recovered data on), and HALLELUJAH he recovered all my missing files!!!! I am forever grateful to this company, they legitimately brought back all my precious memories.

Alex was able to recover 100% of the data with 1 week turnaround over a holiday weekend for exactly what he quoted me. It cost less than $800 + a replacement drive, which is well worth it if you've ever spent time, money, and energy on a project. I truly hope I don't need his services again but I'd highly recommend Alex to anyone who needs data recovery. Edit: I have to mention that I noticed the very negative review on this page and was honestly skeptical but Alex communicated clearly the whole time and showed me the data file system that I created in the drive before I paid anything, which was very reassuring.

My gut told me that review was a bit off and so I went with my gut and trusted my precious memories to Alex and I have zero regrets. His prices are reasonable. Alex kept me in the loop the entire time and was quick to inform me of the progress he was making. I didn't have an extra drive to give him for backing up but that didn't slow anything down. Alex took care of getting me an extra drive and basically took care of everything like a pro. Within a day or so I had everything back and as good as new. But Alex didn't stop there! When I went to pick up the drive he asked me about how I'm backing things up and gave me a few pointers and even gave me some insight into why these newer physical drives keep failing (hint they are making them too small). As if that wasn't enough he told me would hold on to a backup of my files for a little bit to make sure I got everything backed up properly once I got home. And a few weeks later he actually followed up to make sure that everything was good and that I had properly backed up the files. I really don't know what more could be looking for beyond what Alex provides. I can assure you he's the real deal; that awful review on here is definitely fake, and your precious data will be in solid hands with Alex and the Data Recovery Experts.
