    Mazapan coffee

Always a must stop place while in Julian . My husband thinks the coffee is alittle lacking in strength and flavor but I love the mazapan hot coffee and the apple pie coffee .

I stopped by with my friends after apple picking to get a coffee beverage. Staff was nice and wait wasn't long at all even for how busy it was. I ordered a cinnamon honey latte. They ran out of oat milk so I got coconut milk instead and it was delicious. The vibe was comfort meets cute. This is a place to go to for slow mornings or to get work done! I loved the pitched roof wooden paneled ceiling and decorations, very cute. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I also like how they have their own parking lot. I'll definitely be coming back again to try their breakfast food! It's also great that they have vegan options.

extremely cute and well decorated cafe!! Loved the vibe of the place I got the Julian (apple pie latte) and it was pretty good! Tasted like what you expect it to taste like--cinnamons and apples. The wait was a bit long with the line to the door, so prepare for that if you're coming at peak times Would definitely return to try some of their food options!

This was our first stop in Julian, so we could start our day of exploring with a solid breakfast. There was plenty of parking available and it's close to the main street. When we went in there was a bit of a line, but it went by quite fast. Mostly because we were perusing the drink and food menus for the most of it. The cashier was sweet and efficient. There was plenty of seating inside and there were tables outside if you wanted to enjoy the greenery and the soft breeze. We picked up our food pretty quickly, especially when you saw the long line starting to form. I ordered the iced butterfly pea latte and the pooh bear crepes. It was my first time trying butterfly pea and although the color was vibrant and dreamy, the drink didn't have much taste to it. The pooh bear crepes tasted decent. I personally like floral flavors like lavender and the

Super cute spot right off the Main Street of madness in downtown Julian. Only thing I've had was a brown sugar + cinnamon latte but it was bomb! When I was waiting for my coffee I did see a few food dishes come out and they did look pretty good. I would definitely come back to give this cute little spot another try!

My family dined here on 4th of July! Because of that, parking and crowd was probably different than other days since there was a 4th of July parade starting before we arrived. There was no wait to order and plenty of tables indoor and outdoor. There is a small parking lot shared with the Sheriff's Dept and a pet clinic. The restaurant has plenty of menus when you walk in. Order at the register, receive a pager, and grab your goodies when it rings. I ordered the cream cheese dill-ight tartine and it was absolutely delicious! All the different flavors together were perfect! The whole dish kept me nice and full for a day of exploring Julian! My snickers iced latte was also tasty! My husband, our baby and our dog dined outside. I really like their outdoor seating area because it's super spacious and open (no gates or fences), tables (only a few) are very spaced out, and there was so much shade from the trees! There are restrooms available outside of the actual restaurant. Purple Owl Cafe was such a nice breakfast spot. We fully enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend!

They are somewhat of a unicorn, but when you catch the kitchen open, you are in for an excellent meal.

I agree with another Yelp reviewer that this cute place could lean into the purple owl theme if they wanted to. That being said, the ice cafe latte and the iced Mexican mocha hit the spot! The young man who served us today was friendly and helpful. This cafe is located between the Julian Sheriff's office and a pet center. Plenty of parking as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms outside around the corner. Music in the background is not too loud. Seems like a good place to study, work, or hang out with friends over coffee, tea, pastries.

Came here on a weekend afternoon, about 30 mins before closing. Just one other family leaving as we entered. A short couple minutes walk off Main Street, slightly downhill. It is located right next to the police station. Anyways, at the time of our visit the cafe was already closed, but we were able to order our drinks and a little treat from their display. We got a mocha and an iced strawberry matcha. Their presentations were pretty.. our drinks were sweet and rich. I assume this place gets pretty busy during peak season/days... but I enjoyed the quiet of our visit. It's a nice little break to be able to sit away from the crowds of Main Street. Also a good option if you're a fan of Julian but not really craving pie? Hahah . Lots of tables, a few tables/chairs outside too , free WiFi, open layout. A little pricey but comparable to similar coffee shops / cafe..

Randomly decided to go to Julian since I was bored one morning and left the house without coffee. The first stop I made was by Purple Owl because according to Yelp this was one of the better options available. I was craving a good coffee and the menu was one of the reasons I stopped by. It definitely stood out with all the fun flavors to choose from. I normally don't go for these two flavors but decided what the heck and ordered the s'mores coffee and the raspberry one. The s'mores flavor was a bit of a letdown. Im not the biggest s'mores fan in general but was expecting a bolder flavor like more marashmelloy or even smokey. It was more of a subtle sweetness. The raspberry one was the complete opposite of the s'mores. It was sweet and rich! If I didn't have the s'mores to balance out the raspberry and vice versa, it woulda been a disappointing visit. Overall, I might not rank it the best coffee but for the region I guess it was fine. The caffeine did the job, so at least I left feeling energized. I'd give the menu itself a solid 4 stars based on the variety and options, but the vibe of the place loses a star. We walked in and it felt like everyone was staring at us, and not in a welcoming way. The staff was fine, just busy buzzing around. We didn't stick around to sip our coffee nor try the food. Overall, it was an okay experience. Tons of parking available. The lot is shared with the sheriff office.

They have a private parking lot and both indoor and outdoor seating. I built my own smoothie with peanut butter, strawberries, and blueberries -- it was delicious! Service was great, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try their brunch options.

This was a sweet stop in Julian on our way home from camping. We both liked our coffees and hipster food, I think this is one of the healthiest food options in Julian. We ordered savory crepes and brussetta; both were filling and tasty! It has a cozy cafe vibe and is in a really sweet nook, we would come back. :-)
