We searched Yelp for a café in Julian, and it led us to this charming restaurant. We ended up having such a wonderful dining experience in this quaint little town. My sister loved her entrée so much that she wants to come back for her birthday and order the exact same thing, the savory crepes. Everything was served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The coffee was especially delicious, and I'll definitely be ordering a cup on our next visit. The meal gave us plenty of energy to stroll through town afterward and enjoy the shops. It was the perfect combination of great food, a cozy atmosphere, and a relaxing day in Julian.

Such a hidden gem! We tried the Purple Owl Cafe and everything we ate and drink was absolutely delicious. Strawberry matcha, s'mores latte, Nina fresa crepe, and the Luca plate were all spectacular! The ambiance of the whole restaurant and patio outside are perfect for a weekend brunch spot! Definitely check it out.

The Julian Latte was amazing!!! I also love that their menu is vegan friendly. The food was delicious and did not take too long to come out. My family and I went for breakfast and there was plenty of seating. I was hoping to try the Pumpkin Pie latte after seeing some menus saying it was year-round, but was informed it's seasonal. Overall, I would definitely come back!

Great healthy option in Julian! The coffee was great and there was a small kids area for my daughter to play while we ate.

Everything went well, it is farm to table so it takes a little extra time & so worth it. My husband had banana bread french toast with fresh ripe blueberries & strawberries! I had savory crepe with stir fried spinach & onions topped with black olives, the real kind, enjoyed it all.

I had saved Purple Owl Cafe in my collections for my first trip to Julian, and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere and food were both impressive. I loved their interior decor; although there has been certain comments on it not giving "purple owl" vibes, I think everything looks well put together with several purple colored and owl decorations that respond to the name. There could always be more, but that seems like a nice fit to me, lol. Anyway, I loved my Fun Guy tartine with potatoes, and my matcha tasted just how I like it. Vegan whipped cream was on the menu, but they did not have it, so that was a bummer, but I'll call it blessing in disguise to avoid more calories. My friend and I wanted to try the Beyond Papas, but they were all out of beyond meat. She ended up ordering the Luca tartine and said it was okay but has had better. She loved her Purple Owl drink though! They had a clean restroom outside, which was a plus! I even returned to use it again before I hit the road back home because the porta potty lines were seriously unfavorable, and I'd rather go here (clean restroom over a porta potty) anytime I'm back in Julian.

Enjoyed their beautiful outdoor seating while enjoying our drinks. Here on a camping trip in Julian, we really enjoyed checking out this beautiful spot and treating ourselves to something we didn't make ourselves! The staff took a while to greet us when we walked in, and we didn't receive a buzzer to tell us when our drinks are ready so we had to go in and check ourselves. We ordered the blueberry pea matcha, the Purple Owl (blueberry pea lemonade), an iced Smores latte, a tropical smoothie, and some kind of brown sugar & cinnamon latte. Everything was delicious, and we really enjoyed enjoying the sun and our drinks with our pup!

Great tasting food. Vegan and gluten free options. Quiet cafe in the country with ample parking. I ordered the Papas and loved it.

I stopped by with my friends after apple picking to get a coffee beverage. Staff was nice and wait wasn't long at all even for how busy it was. I ordered a cinnamon honey latte. They ran out of oat milk so I got coconut milk instead and it was delicious. The vibe was comfort meets cute. This is a place to go to for slow mornings or to get work done! I loved the pitched roof wooden paneled ceiling and decorations, very cute. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I also like how they have their own parking lot. I'll definitely be coming back again to try their breakfast food! It's also great that they have vegan options.

Welcoming spot with delicious food coffee drinks, pastry. The tartines are a standout and I loved the Mexican mocha. (Tartine here is an open faced sandwich on house made focaccia.) Delicious!

extremely cute and well decorated cafe!! Loved the vibe of the place I got the Julian (apple pie latte) and it was pretty good! Tasted like what you expect it to taste like--cinnamons and apples. The wait was a bit long with the line to the door, so prepare for that if you're coming at peak times Would definitely return to try some of their food options!

This was our first stop in Julian, so we could start our day of exploring with a solid breakfast. There was plenty of parking available and it's close to the main street. When we went in there was a bit of a line, but it went by quite fast. Mostly because we were perusing the drink and food menus for the most of it. The cashier was sweet and efficient. There was plenty of seating inside and there were tables outside if you wanted to enjoy the greenery and the soft breeze. We picked up our food pretty quickly, especially when you saw the long line starting to form. I ordered the iced butterfly pea latte and the pooh bear crepes. It was my first time trying butterfly pea and although the color was vibrant and dreamy, the drink didn't have much taste to it. The pooh bear crepes tasted decent. I personally like floral flavors like lavender and the

I ordered the Farm Chicken Salad, and it was hands-down the best decision I could have made in this heat. The dish was vibrant, crisp, and wonderfully light without sacrificing flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection--tender, well-seasoned, and paired beautifully with farm-fresh greens and a bright, perfectly balanced dressing that tied every bite together. It's rare to find a salad that feels like a full, thoughtful meal rather than just a side, but this one delivered on every front. Beyond the food, the French countryside-inspired atmosphere made the experience even better. The garden-like, rustic charm provides a relaxed escape, making it an ideal destination to cool down and enjoy a slow lunch. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive despite the busy afternoon rush, ensuring water glasses stayed full and food arrived quickly. Whether you're stopping by for a casual brunch or looking for a light lunch to beat the summer sun, FARM continues to impress with its fresh ingredients and comforting prep. The Farm Chicken Salad is officially my new summer favorite, and I'll definitely be coming back for another visit soon!

Honestly, we were all already talking about coming back to try more--there are so many options to choose from. The staff was also super attentive.
