Charged $43.00 for dry-cleaning of one dress and didn't get the stain out. This was my first time using this cleaner. I won't be back.

Had to bring it twice to get an Oder out of jacket. Somehow smelled worse the second time around :/

Updated review: After the confusion with our clothes with the wash, fold, and dry service, Sara was very helpful with organizing that we get our clothes back on time and delivered it right to the hotel we were staying at. Norman Way at the Scotts Addition location made sure to follow up after drop off. Although not the best first impression, the follow through to get everything corrected was great. read more

I was so glad to find a reliable dry cleaner in my neighborhood. The folks who work there are super friendly, and they offer same day drop off/pick up. I think they are definitely worth the price I pay for dry cleaning. read more

This young man is so thoughtful and caring that I thought perhaps he was a family member of the owners. He works at the Pump Road location. I tried to resolve this before writing a bad review but I am fed up. If you are military, do not come here. I thought I'd try Puritan, I normally use HandCraft who have always been great and reasonably priced but they're just a little further away so I thought I'd give Puritan a shot. It's nice that they notify you through email however the woman at the desk couldn't tell me what chemical they use in their dry cleaning process which didn't instill much faith. I went to pick up my dry cleaning two days later and asked about their active duty military discount. The woman said they have one, great. So I'm standing there wondering why she's not doing anything and after a long awkward silence where I'm staring at my total of $31 for two items(!), I say "So... here is my ID" and she tells me that they have a military discount but only the manager can do it and the manager isn't there today, she is there only on certain days during certain hours. I needed my dry cleaning, have a baby on my hip and I live 20 mins away. Anyone familiar with active duty military knows that they are constantly having to get uniforms dry cleaned it is extremely expensive over time and military discounts offered by businesses are extremely appreciated. Do not claim you have a military discount if you don't trust your employees enough to allow them to honor it themselves. What a joke. I asked for the managers information and have spent the last week trying to call. She is never there and finally today I was told she would be there but every time I've called the line rings and then hangs up. Fabulous customer service. read more

I took a dress shirt there to be clean and two of my wife's dresses to be hemmed. The first time we got the clothes back a stain on my shirt still remained and didn't look like it had been cleaned and my wife's dresses had not been hemmed. My wife called and they took the shirt and dresses back. I picked the clothes up for the second time and the shirt still had the stain and only one of the dresses had been hemmed, while one was still the original length. I'm not sure what's going on with them, but they can't get it right. read more

This location of Puritan Dry Cleaners offers excellent customer service and exceptional cleaning. The staff, especially Theressa, are friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Garments can either be hung or expertly folded. The folding for men's dress shirts is especially nice for wrinkle free travel. This location also sends an email reminder when your your items are ready. I would highly recommend this Fan location for your dry cleaning needs. read more

After ruining my Marc Jacobs bag that had only had a few months and only put in the cleaners to remove surface dirt on the handles where I hold it and the corners where it sits so it wouldn't set in my bag came back with a big blackish mark on the front and a what looks like a water mark in the bottom color faded . I was told I would be compensated and have not been and the manager of that store cursed at my daughter when she called about my bag. This is the shoddiest service and cleaners in the city . A dry cleaner is a dry cleaner is a dry cleaner. Or is it? After searching high and low for a dry cleaner to consistently provide me with great service and clean garments, I finally found Puritan Cleaners. Trust me when I say I experienced some sour apples along the way. From holes to smells to overly high prices to even having garments returned dirtier than when I dropped them off- I've experienced it all. Because of this, I learned long ago to never trust a favorite garment with a new cleaner. On my first visit to Puritan, I was a bit skeptical. Not because of anything they did, but because of the horrors I had previously experienced at other cleaners. Being wary, I only relinquished a few not so precious items to see how the cleaning would measure up. I was pleasantly surprised when the items were returned to me in fabulous condition. Clean, pressed, and ready to wear! Puritan has since gained my trust and I've never experienced any issues. I bring them my most loved items and never worry that anything will happen to them in my absence. Such a relief! It's a little pricier than the cleaner I used in grad school (but that was in a different city, with a different cost of living so it's not really fair to compare), but the items are always returned quickly and I'm always left satisfied. read more

Although this Puritan location did a fine job with the clothes I brought in for dry cleaning, I would strongly advise against bringing anything in to be tailored or modified. I brought four pairs of slacks in with my dry cleaning a month or so ago - I needed the bottom hem let out on one and the other three needed buttons replaced. The young lady at the counter brushed the buttons request off by saying, "They'll do that when they dry clean them." and didn't make any kind of note about the hem issue. Needless to say, none of my specific requests were fulfilled. I called the location as soon as I noticed it and received a friendly response and invitation to bring them back to have the work done. I do admit my own carelessness in not doing a spot-check before I left Puritan on the second pick-up of these items (to which a good amount of additional dry cleaning was added), but that does't take away from the astonishing lack of customer care on Puritan's part to once again have dropped the ball on my tailoring requests. Although the buttons were added to the three aforementioned slacks as requested, the hem on the fourth remained untouched. This was reason enough for me to withdraw my business (from both this, as well as the Parham Rd., location). read more

One star for the fact that the clothes were returned clean and the cashier did the best she could to help. Deducting all the rest of the stars for failure to deliver on their promise of 24-hour turnaround time. On Sunday, I found out we had to attend a family funeral out of state that Weds. On Monday, I called Puritan to ask if they could dry clean suit pants by the next day. They assured me they could. I brought the clothes in and asked AGAIN, are you certain these will be ready the next day? I was assured that they'd be ready on Tuesday after 5pm. On Tuesday at 7pm, I show up to pick up the pants and am told that they aren't ready. Not only are they not ready, but they aren't even in the building, they are locked in the warehouse. No one of authority was answering their phone (as I said, the cashier felt terrible and tried to help). There was no way to get them back, either clean or dirty, before our 6am flight the next day (we offered to meet someone at the warehouse even). No one contacted us after, and no one besides the poor powerless cashier even seemed to care that they were making a terrible time that much more stressful. Today in the mail, I saw a letter from Puritan. When I saw the envelope, I thought that perhaps someone had reached out to apologize for their failure to live up to what they promised. Instead it was a form letter thanking me for being a customer. Thanks, Puritan, for reminding me to write this review so that others don't fall into the same misleading trap. Sorry you wasted your stamp as I won't be a customer any longer. read more

I have been using cleaning services for years and across many cities in the US. I have not found a more convenient service as I have experienced with Puritan. I frequent The Fan location in Richmond, Va.. Shout out to Shanea and Theressa Safewright who are always so warm and welcoming. They have somehow managed to find the balance between getting to know me and getting me in and out in the quickest way possible. Its a true art form! The back office service seems to be just as great, so many times I have received clothing back where the button has fallen off... only to find it was replaced and a nice tag included saying they have done so. read more

They destroyed an expensive Stella McCartney blazer that I brought in for dry cleaning - they gave it back to me wet and shrunken (huh?!) and also pressed a collar flat on a vintage silk blouse instead of keeping its pleat. Really odd! I don't recommend taking any high end or irreplaceable vintage clothes to them. read more

I really liked them until I got a few items altered. Do not use them for alterations! They literally put a patch on my white jeans (a noticeable one) and missed a button when doing a blouse. There are two ladies that are incredibly unfriendly working the front. They act like it's an inconvenience that you're picking clothes up. I will be trying the Scott's addition location. read more

Love the service from these folks - I take full advantage of the free pick up/drop off service twice a week. My route manager is Angie Taylor and she's always on time - it's so great not having to worry about managing the process myself! I've tried a few dry cleaners around town and although this one is well out of my way I prefer it. Their prices are reasonable and, more importantly, they have cleaned tmy clothes better than the other places. For example, the pressed line on my pants are always perfect! read more

As the previous review said, the service here is awesome! They always have my dry cleaning ready to go and offer quick turn around times, next day if after 9am drop off and same day if before 9am. What makes Puritan Cleaners great is the people - Theressa knows customer service. I was in a rush one morning picking up my dry cleaning here and locked my keys in my car, but thankfully Theressa was supportive, called a locksmith for me, and even chatted with me while I waited for the locksmith to arrive. If I could give negative stars I would. I was told I would have my clothes within 24hrs of drop off. After a week (I had called during this time and been told my clothes were not ready) I received a call letting me know both of my blouses were lost. They offered to reimburse me if I went back to Nordstrom and purchased 2 new blouses and brought them the receipt. I did that (was not able to get the same shirts) and was told then that I had to wait for a check in the mail from corporate which was not clear during the prior call and $181 is a lot of money to be randomly out of pocket and waiting on. I asked them to rush my check, verified my home address, and had to request that I keep my Nordstrom receipt because they tried to take that from me instead of making a copy. Next I received another call letting me know my check had been mailed to the store, not my apartment, and that I needed to come pick it up. I live in church hill, they are not close, neither is Nordstrom. 3 trips to the cleaner, 2 blouses I loved that are gone, one really out of the way trip to Short Pump, and no real sense of concern or urgency with my situation. Yes I was able to get 2 blouses but I have wasted a lot of gas, effort, miles, and time on this cleaner because of their error and I am never coming back. read more

While the service was excellent the prices are ridiculous and not listed anywhere on the web site so I had no idea the cost when I dropped them off. It cost me $27 to get a simple skirt and dress dry cleaned that I did not pay more than $75 for when I bought them from the store last year. I am very dissatisfied. read more

The service here is awesome! Shanea on the front desk is simply delightful. Minus one star for it being expensive, but I'm willing to pay for good cleaning in a convenient place where I'm treated well as a customer. Will certainly be back! read more
