Why does it cost twice as much for sear sucker fabrics and linen to be ironed? Because it is seasonal to wear these fabrics, I go elsewhere during the summer months. I may stay with my summer cleaner - they are not as convenient but then, they don't over charge for linen or sear sucker. read more

Overall, good cleaners for the pieces I needed dry cleaned. Service was fine. Dropped off 5 pieces and it was ready for pickup in 3 days. There was a price difference from what was told when I picked up. I didn't ask about it because it was less than a $10 difference -- but be sure to compare the balance texted to you with the receipt in person. read more

My one regret is not taking before and after photos! Brought my wedding dress in to be cleaned about two months after my wedding. I had a very long train that kept coming unbustled during the reception. It was stepped on, dragging on the ground/floor and I'm sure spilled. The entire bottom of my dress was GRAY, dirty and so gross. It took about 4 weeks for my dress to be cleaned and it is BEIGHT WHITE again. No more dirt stained train. Very happy with the price. Every associate I interacted with were kind, friendly and welcoming. Would 100% recommend for wedding dress cleaning!! read more

I had requested that the slacks to my suit be expanded in the waist. I was charge $28.00 for letting the slacks out. I didn't try on the slacks for over 5 months but was disappointed when I realized nothing was done. Please try someone else for any alterations. read more

We had a rush request dropping it off on Friday and could not wait until Monday. And amazingly they had it done Saturday morning for us at less than they had actually quoted the day before. Very happy, very professional. Beautifully handled. read more

Brought a formal dress in with a stain from a cocktail. Stain had set for three months. Not only were they able to get it out, they were able to get it back to me within 24 hours and at a very good price! Highly recommend. read more

In the past 6 years I've had a few items cleaned at this branch of Puritan Cleaners. It went smoothly until this year. For most of the past 6 years, I dealt exclusively with one woman (I'll call her woman#1) who was helpful, interactive, and very pleasant. Seven days ago (Saturday) I took in a hand-knitted blanket. I was told by woman#2 that I could pick it up Wednesday. That's fine; I'm in no hurry. Woman#2 did not seem to appreciate my custom. And on the ticket, she seemed to find it acceptable to reduce my name from Kimberly to Kim. It's only 5 more keystrokes, girl, is that so difficult? So I returned Wednesday, early afternoon, and dealt with a third woman, woman#3. I was told that it had been cleaned, but was not yet available for pickup. Grrr. Woman#3 was slightly warmer than either woman#2, but neither would melt a stick of butter if they sat on it. I returned Friday, and picked up my blanket for $12.91, dealing again with woman#2. I sure do miss woman#1. I have more items to be cleaned, and anticipate returning next week. If woman#1 is not there, I'll leave and find a different cleaner. read more

The only dry-cleaner that I've ever been to (and needed to go to) in Richmond. The 1 day turnaround is great, and they have been very helpful with getting same-day service when needed. I have taken dress shirts, suits, and pants here on countless occasions and they have always done a great job. read more

Stay far away from this place, bad business and customer service!!!!!!!!!!! They do not clean your personal belongings properly or at all!!!! Even when the manager agrees things weren't cleaned and puts a ticket to have them cleaned for a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time. at this point you'll have to take them somewhere else to save the time, stress, gas money, headaches and fear that something may end up happening that would damage your items for life. On top of that the guy Jay was rude and displayed horrible customer service. The BBB needs to hear about this business. read more

Was told the price would be $19 for a dress I brought in and showed to the cashier, then charged $32 at pick up because it was deemed "formal" with no liner, etc. Irritating to to be up-charged at pick up without warning. Bottom of my dress still had debris attached to it. Disappointing. read more

I took a vintage tweed coat to be cleaned here, and was happy with my experience! I was a little nervous because being from the 1950's it wasn't in the best condition so I didn't want it to come out even worse. They did a great job and my coat came back perfectly clean and in the same condition I took it in, also it only took them one day, which was even better! I like how they have many locations and I will definitely use them for my other dry cleaning needs. read more

The best dry cleaner in RVA, hands down. Am I swayed by the fact that they do a major fundraiser for Feed More every year? Why yes, yes I am. And what's so wrong with wanting to support a local business that supports the community? Seriously attentive customer service - I feel like I got a VIP membership, but turns out everyone's a vip at Puritan. Also, they pick up and deliver. Say wha? Check em out. read more

My husband and I got married two weeks ago in a small, socially-distanced outdoor ceremony. Of course, it poured rain! My dress got soaked, and despite my sister's best efforts, the train got dragged through the mud and leaves. My dress is massive and ornate, with six layers of lace, beading, tulle and satin. I didn't think it would ever be possible to get the dirt out when I saw it the next morning. But the Puritan Cleaners in Scott's Addition did an incredible job; the dress looks as good as the day I first tried it on in the bridal shop, and they got it done in less than two weeks! They were incredibly friendly, and the staff even signed a card for me and my husband congratulating us. I am so thrilled. Thanks so much for the incredible service!! read more

I moved to Richmond a few years ago, and found Puritan to be the best dry cleaner. I recently switched locations due to a local move. Since then Tracey has been taking care of me, providing the very best service, with a warm and friendly smile! Thank you Tracey! read more

Love this location! I avoid a closer store to go to this one solely because the manager, Tracey Hansom! Tracey always has a smile and her outgoing personality is contagious. She pays special attention to the details and is always willing to go above and beyond to make sure that any request is taken care of. 100% would recommend this Puritan Cleaners location for quality service in a timely, professional manner. read more

Prompt response when I asked for a quote. Excellent customer service. I had a tie cleaned here and when I came to pick it up, the employee double checked that the stain was removed for me. While doing so, she noticed that the tie was a bit wrinkled and offered to have it repressed free of charge. Everything was done in such a kind and timely manner. read more

Surprisingly, they actually made me feel like a valued customer, despite them having racks and racks of clothing items in the store. This was my first time using this service and they delivered my shirts crisp and clean and the price was right. I know, you are probably thinking that there is not much to this type of business, but I have used several dry cleaners in the past, and the quality of the work is often noticeable. My shirts were looking new when I got them back. I will continue to use this service. read more

I've now brought items to this Puritan cleaners a couple of times and both times have received items back with holes where solution was applied. I spoke with Tracey, the manager, about this. She said that they could give me a compensation for the item minus depreciation, which was considerate and somewhat fair. But at the end of the day my items have been ruined. Each item was nearly brand new, and had never been dry cleaned before. One was a silk dress, the other a wool sweater. To me receiving the items back in this condition illustrates a lack of care and attention. If an item develops holes, it should be noted and the customer alerted. I won't be trusting Puritan with my delicate items again. read more

Angie Taylor is my home pick up and delivery driver for Puritan. I could not be more pleased with the service! My clothing is always delivered and picked up timely regardless of the weather conditions. Angie is super friendly! The quality of the dry cleaning is first rate. They even replace buttons on your shirts. I also like the way they put little plastic cuff links in my French cuff shirts. I am a very happy customer read more

Great customer service from Tracey.

I took my large ballgown wedding dress to Puritan to be cleaned. They completed the job 2 weeks under schedule for a very reasonable price. My dress looks brand new. The customer service is also fantastic! Highly recommend. read more

This is how dry cleaning should work, and my route manager, Angie Taylor, who picks up and delivers my dry cleaning, epitomizes "goes the extra mile" customer service. She's dependable, prompt, and generous. Puritan is worth every penny. read more

This Puritan has become my go-to dry cleaning location, and after my visit today I realized it was high time for a review update, and a star bump. So how did they earn that final fifth star? Let me list the ways: 1. Every single time I walk in the door, I'm greeted by a bubbly attitude and a big smile. Seriously, the ladies who run this location are just fantastic. 2. My clothes are always, always returned to me in prime condition. Sure, you should expect this from a dry cleaner, but sadly it's not always the case. But when Puritan's involved, they get it right every time. 3. Speaking of time, the quick turnaround for dry cleaning clothes is awesome! I don't know exactly what the policy is (because, truth be told, I've never really asked), but more often than not my clothes are ready in one business day. 4. I take my work tablecloth to be cleaned here, and they've eliminated many a mystery spot. 5. They email you when your order's ready! That's perfect for someone like me, who tends to forget I even dropped off clothes, let alone the date they're scheduled to be ready for pick up. I could probably go on, but I think you get the picture. But of course, I have to reveal the icing on the cake that happened today. I dropped a few blouses off at the end of last week, and although they were ready on Friday, I couldn't make it over until today. I was greeted by friendly staff, as usual, but once I got home and put my clothes away, I noticed the best surprise ever. One of blouses has a single button at the back and the loophole for the button had come unsewn. I had been wearing it with a safety pin (I know, I know, it sounds sketch but it was on the inside and no one could see it but me), since I hadn't gotten around to stitching it back up. Well lo and behold, today the loophole was fixed! Now that's what I call great service. Puritan, I love you. read more

I have been using the home service for a few years now and hope I never have to stop! Angie Taylor is amazing!! When I moved, she helped get me set up at my new home so I wouldn't lose service. I have used cleaning services on a weekly basis for years and I have never had the level of excellent customer service as I have experienced with Puritan. I took a few shirts to this Puritan Cleaners only to pick them up with one of the shirt cuff's thread torn. I brought the shirt back to Puritan and was advised by the staff that the manager was not there and to bring it back when she is. They advised it should be no problem in replacing the shirt or cost of the shirt. I tried to reach Theresa again weeks later and she was not there. I decided to leave it with the staff. Theresa called today to advise that it's the manufactor's fault. The shirt was from Banana Republic and not the first time I've taken a BR shirt to them?!! However, it is the first time I've received an item back damaged to this extent. Usually I will find a button missing here and there but never experienced this! I advised that the shirt was new before bringing it to them. When I received it, it was damaged. She basically said she's sorry but could not help me. I asked for her manager in which she gave me Sarah's number with no extension. I advised that I will NEVER bring anything else there to clean. This 10 year customer will never return. Thanks Puritan for not correcting a mistake that your staff clearly admit to making. read more
