*Warning: Long and Detailed Review* I had been coming here for a few months and up til today's visit, believed this to be a good place. Now, the actual hydrotherapy, is good. They use the Angel of Water systems and I've been pleased with all my results. I thoroughly support colon hydrotherapy. What I no longer support. Is this place. The receptionist is lovely. The service staff are lovely. Even the dog is lovely. But the owner is a flat out liar. A week ago I was granted a complimentary session since I had referred someone who came in for hydrotherapy. At the time. I was going to purchase another package of sessions. I'm glad I didn't. The receptionist AND owner asked for a deposit. I had booked my "complimentary" session and for deposit since I didn't have the funds for the whole package at the time (luckily) the deposit would be for the single complimentary session. Reasonable of course. If you're giving a free session bc of a referral you want to be sure ppl wont waste your appt (as a business owner) They were quite insistent on leaving AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE but since I didn't have the money to spend yet, they accepted $60.90 tax included. Glad I kept the receipt. I came in today with full plans on booking and purchasing my next sessions. But literally, on the drive over, I got some devastating life changing news. I was already close to the appt so I didnt skip out. The appt went fine. It started a little late but no matter. What the issue ended up being is when checking out and apologizing for not being able to continue for a few months (again, full intention of returning) the owner lied to my face about "not knowing" what the truth was about the complimentary session and deposit. I had the receipt in my pocket even ready to refer to the amount my deposit was and she didn't even care to see it she just continued to give me the run around. Totally ignored my emotional state and all of our prior "friend like" interactions. All that, out the window. I always liked the staff. Never the owner. Just go here with full knowledge that she is scammy and slimy. Attached is the pricing they quoted me the prior week. Glad I took a photo of that as well. Don't let them scam you. Plus. Buy it off Groupon. Wait for extra discount days. I purchased a groupon voucher for hydrocolon therapy and used it today. It was my first time at the spa. The staff were very attentive and professional. The spa had a relaxing ambience. The session was pain free and lasted 40 minutes. I felt so much lighter afterwards. The staff checked in on me throughout the entire process. I will definitely be back again for more hydrocolon therapy treatments. read more

Still can't shake the disgust of their hygiene standards.  On June 3rd at 2pm. I visited Puriin for a float. They took me into the room where the the float room was and told me how the session would go. 1 hour in the 'tub' and 30 minutes to shower. She prefaced it by telling me that the water is cooler because they had some customers complain that they didnt like the water to be body temperature. I told her that it was too cold for me but she said don't worry it will be fine. I then showered as instructed and got into the tub.  It took me a really long time to get in because the water was so cold and I kept waiting for my body to acclimatize but it never did for some reason. And because it took me so long to get in, I started noticing particles in the water --- There were hair strands, dirt, pubic hair and some red particles in the water. I immediately got out of the water and showered, so in total time I was only in the tub for like 10 minutes at most before showering.  I got out and told her the water was dirty which she then went on to tell me that it wasn't but I said it was, and after I finished gathering my things. She told me that the reason why I noticed all of that was because of the light in the room and if there was light at other float houses then I would notice the dirt there too! So it wasn't that it was a hygiene issue. It was that I shouldn't have noticed it. How ridiculous is that?  So essentially they do not clean the water after each person. Gross.  On another occasion I had actually visited there for the colon therapy as well and that was actually a really good experience. But this float experience totally ruined it. read more

Terrible customer service. I bought a Groupon for my boyfriend to go for a float. When he called the soonest available appointment was weeks or months away and then right before the appointment they would call to cancel/reschedule due to technical issues - this happened 3 times since April. I called to inquire what was going on and ask for a refund on my Groupon and the girl was rude and told me to call Groupon. They're still selling Groupon's for something you can't use. The staff are extremely helpful and down to earth! Prior to my session , one of the staff members explained the whole process very thoroughly so I could get comfortable. During and after my session they were all very accomadating and helpful. To add, it was quite in expensive for the service I received. I highly recommend giving this place a try .... great experience. read more

This review is for their colon hydrotherapy. Puriin Spa offers the most efficient, effective (and cramp-inducing) colonics I've experienced. Located on the 2nd floor of the Mariott, this cozy, well-appointed spa is true to spa ambiance unlike their "spa" competitors who I've found to be noisier and more like a clinic. This is the kind of treatment where you need to be relaxed and the atmosphere for colonics here is the best of those I've visited. To add to that, it's customary to check on the client mid-session and I appreciate that they do it via intercom, unlike other places which knock and come in, which I don't want or need. I was treated well in my interactions with the staff and owner/manager. Moreover, I had a 3-session package and went for 2, but then I had to reschedule my 3rd multiple times, sometimes on short notice. They were very understanding. As for the colonics themselves, as mentioned previously, they are the most efficient, but also produce more discomfort/cramping than I've been used to elsewhere. I normally have very mild to no discomfort. Here I would experience a moment of high discomfort, which lasts a few seconds. Later that evening, I would have a fair bit of cramping but am fine the next day. All in all, Puriin has the most effective colonics I've had and the most relaxing ambiance and convenient location. Their standard session also is a better value than another place I like, Lavar Spa, which starts at 30-minute sessions compared to Puriin's 40. It doesn't sound like it would make a big difference, but it does. I believe Puriin offers better pricing options, also. Recommended--especially if you have an issue other places haven't resolved, or take a long time to resolve. read more

My wife and I had a Groupon for a couple's float session and it was quite pleasant. It was our first time in a float session and had no expectations. Our host was courteous and informative about how the session works - shower, float, then shower again. The float session itself was very relaxing once we were able to accustom ourselves to the large warm float tub. Our only minor gripes included a leaking pipe with a bucket under the sink in the change room and a broken shower head in the main float area - we're guessing to be used by the 'significant other'. The single shower head was doable for a couple's shower. Although, these issues looked like something that could easily be fixed by a professional plumber. Overall, 4/5 stars for the nice welcoming atmosphere and float session. We would have given 5/5 if plumbing issues were addressed. First impression plays a lot, especially for a first-time-experience. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a float in a Pod. It was difficult to make an appointment, and I needed to wait about 2 weeks. I called one morning to make an appointment, was given multiple availabilities for the chosen date, then called back an hour later and they were all supposedly booked... Yet when I came in to my appointment, there was no one there before or after me. The day of, I was given the pool instead of a pod even though I agreed to a cooler temperature in the pod as they said there was an issue with the temperature (I got a call the day before to ask for my preference). One of the highlights I was looking for was the lights above the pool, which I was informed do not work. The pool had hair in it, which really grossed me out. The pool room needed LOTS of updating. The tiles were coming off the tub, it just was not up to par. In the change room, the toilet room was so small, I could not close the door because there was no space for my legs. Positives: friendly service, multiple accessories and items to use in the change room (ie. Straightener, brush, make up remover, perfume..etc) and the relaxation room was nice. read more

This place is scam. I got a Groupon for the float session in a pod, booked an appointment. Upon arrival I was not even given any instructions on how to use it. The lady just brought me to the room with something that looked like a huge square bath tub. When I said I booked a pod, she informed me it's broken (? Or was it actually) which nobody ever mentioned to me beforehand. The tub was filled with unfresh salt solution and the sides had dirt on it, very gross. Not sure when it's cleaned last time. I did got very they redeefrustrated. They redeemed my coupon upon arrival , and re directed me to Groupon to get refund. Of course it took me quite a few angry emails to get money back since coupon looked like redeemed. I will NEVER recommend this place, totally scam,and so surprised it's located in Marriott hotel building. I've been to actual float spas and this is definitely not one of them. Maybe they take advantage of people who are having this experience for the first time and don't know what to expect. read more

Had a Groupon for the couple's float, in the open air twinkly lights couples room. Was not able to book it in time before the expiry, but the staff said not to worry, they would still honour it at a later date. Almost a year later we finally booked, and the day of the float (Tuesday March 13) they called and said they were having difficulty with the temperature and we would not be able to use it... we could rebook later, go into a pod (both of us), or each have our own pod session one after the other. At first I was upset because booking a time that matched all our schedules was a small miracle on its own, but to orchestrate that all over, I did not want to do. I had read many negative reviews and was afraid this would happen, and I voiced my concerns to the staff person, asking her to explain why it hadn't been fixed. Gigi politely and calmly gave a detailed reason (concerning the HVAC and temperature, out of the spa's control) for not only the mechanical issues but for the negative reviews, and I was impressed with her professional demeanour. We decided to keep our appointment and went 2 people (peas?) into one pod. Our float experience was great and Gigi made sure we were taken care of. I'm glad I decided to keep an open mind and put the negative reviews aside as Gigi could not have given us better service. I think when it comes down to any service-based industry, a good rule of thumb is to treat people how you would like to be treated. It's amazing how being kind and treating people with respect will come back around to you. We are looking forward to visiting Puriin Spa again... thank you Gigi! read more

Wow this was a terrible experience, the water was clearly not cleaned before or after my session, staff terribly rude and treated me like a second class citizen because I bought a groupon. Also it says 90 min float but actually you have a 60min float with 30min to get ready before and after. Save your money, buy earplugs go to a community pool and float. They also made me play by force extra for "taxes" that they suggested. I would have tipped but why lie? read more

My partner and I went here for a couples float. Colour me unimpressed. The water was notably not up to standard. We decided to roll with it, because we figured "Hey, how bad could it be?" Well when we got out of the pool, we saw a note on the door for the float pods - Closure Order due to poor hygiene. The day after our float I felt sick, so I messaged Vancouver Coastal Health. Their couples float pool is now also closed due to bad health practices. This place should be shut down and is a legitimate risk to your health. read more

Bought a Groupon for a couples float which expired on May 29, 2017. Called the other day to ask about availability and they said they were booked up until May 30, 2017. Seems a little weird they were booked up until after the Groupon expired. After reading other reviews I contacted Groupon and got a full refund. read more

Worst customer service of all time!! Not even worth the cheap price of a Groupon. Please train your staff to properly understand the spa's policies well enough to convey them when the appointment is being booked, in addition to being able to spell a simple name right and actually respond to the request to have it spelt right. Got hung up on when confronting the staff of having not informed me of certain policies when I was almost at the spa for my appointment. (That even with a shower cap I was not allowed to do a float if I had just coloured my hair) I don't care what your policy is just tell me ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. Do not go here, the lack of customer service makes me think the rest of the place isn't taken care of either. I would give no stars if that were an option! read more

Warning: do not book here ever! Please saver yourself. Its not worth the cheap groupon. I purchased a groupon on the 13th of May. I called several times for almost two weeks to book my appointment. I left voicemails each time. No one ever answered the phone and no one ever returned my voicemails. Finally one day I managed to speak to a receptionist. She provided me with a spa time and said I would receive an email confirmation. I never did. I called to reconfirm my said appointment at which point I was not reconfirmed but given an entirely new appointment! Bizarre. Then I turned up to my appointment and was told 10 minutes after my appointment time that I had to wait 45 minutes for my float!!! They were having "water issues". Given the amount of times they have said this to people at the very last minute, they should really close down their business and fix their "water issues". This was a complete waste of my time. The staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. I am unsure why the Marriott is associated with a such a terrible business. I am now waiting for a refund from Groupon. Worst spa experience ever! Do not book. Please go use your time and money on the other far more welcoming spas in Vancouver. Support business's in Vancouver that provide actual services and actual customer service. read more
