I had a ski accident 4 days ago and was told that a MRI performed by BC Health could take months. I've a lot of pain and don't want to give up skiing, so I looked a way to speedy things. Searched Yelp for private MRI in Vancouver and found 2 places. One of them with many reviews and only 2 stars (Argh....) and AIM Medical Imaging with only 2 reviews but both were excellent. I would like to thank Yelp and also the previous reviewers. This clinic is EXCELLENT. I called at 8,35AM and got my exam scheduled to the same day. Clinic is modern, clean and with very friendly staff. After the exam, I went to listen to the doctor who gave me the good news that the anterior crucial ligament (ACL) was not totally torn but....... (Why there is always a "but"???) ... my meniscus had been flipped and are not in the right place. So....I need surgery to be able to walk again. When we left the clinic I was given a pen drive with the images, so I can send for several doctors to listen who is going to perform the surgery. Few hours after the exam I received on my email box the medical report. AIM is also sending all images and report to my Family Doctor. I highly recommend this clinic! Now.....time to search for the best meniscus repair surgeon.....OMG.... Hoping to hit the slopes next year, I wish you all a nice day! :) read more

We needed to book a lower back and SI joint MRI. I phoned every MRI place in Vancouver and the surrounding area to get a quote as we needed to do it quickly and privately. This place was the cheapest of them all, and included a consultation with the radiologist after the scan. It was superb!! They organised the scan in less than 24 hours, and the service was impeccable, absolutely flawless. The radiologist provided a really useful initial interpretation of the results, and had them on CD and on a weblink and sent to our family doctor within an hour of the scan. read more

I went to aim imaging about 10 years ago. Paid privately for a full body MRI. Treatment was fine but some guy named Sean keeps phoning me relentlessly and harassing me from not only his cell number but from a 1833 number to get me to do another MRI even though I told him that if I need to do another MRI I will contact them. They must be really hurting for business if they have to constantly harass people to get in the door. Even if I need an MRI, I will choose another place. It's like a freaking Car salesman trying to sell you something you don't need. Give it up Sean! read more

Holy smokes! This place rocks. At the start of June I injured my back in a CrossFit competition... I was told the soonest I could get in to get an MRI in the health system would be September (almost 4 months after the injury occured)... I decided to bite the bullet and contact AIM which got me in next day. I just had an MRI today on my knee at AIM. I was totally impressed with the staff and the facility. I was able to get an appointment within a few days. I saw a radiologist immediately after the scan, who explained the results to me in a straight forward fashion. I was given a thumb drive with the scan pictures on it and have been emailed the findings in a report. This was a wonderful experience and I am so glad that I went private. Best money I have ever spent! I have pain/mobility issues and decided to have a private MRI done because I needed proper care. Our public health care system is broken! Sad but true. I recently went for a CAT scan in a hospital setting . There was anything but care in the hospital. They wouldn't listen to my health and mobility problems, and treated me in an extremely rude way. They were barbaric in terms of communication. My physician decided I needed an MRI and referred me to AIM. What a difference! If you have problems and want a professional, knowledgeable, compassionate team of people to address your health issues, then look no further. From my first contact by phone, they were helpful, efficient and addressed my concerns. When I arrived, they saw me quickly and the technicians were able to work with and accommodate my mobility problems. They were friendly and communicated well. After the MRI, I immediately saw Dr. Elizabeth Roy. In a compassionate, experienced manner she thoroughly addressed my health concerns. I was completely confident in her expertise. I feel rather odd to give them such low rating, but thinks did not go as well as I would expect.....had a CT scan at UBC about 2 weeks before and felt well looked after, nurses were warm and explained what to expect, and technician talked me through it.... I needed a follow up with MRI and didn't want to wait few months, so decided to dish out monies for private. OK, first my referral from my GP got lost, so after a week I called and scheduled the time very fast (the lady on a phone was very nice, explained thinks to me well), however technician was rather cold - that I can deal with; but very few words before we started. When she started the machine I felt that jackhammer was going on just beside me, and when I squeezed the balloon she gave me to ask for assistance, she gave me very hard time: 'I said it would be loud, and now I have to restart again....' after bit of negotiation she offered to tell me what comes next each time, so it was easier to deal with. Also I really wanted to talk briefly to the radiologist (as he had to look at the image to decide if I needed contrast or not) but technician told me that was impossible; as I was leaving a saw the radiologist there, but he made sure not to make any eye contact. Now week later I still did not get my result.....so called again; guess what? they inputted my email wrong..... So just unlucky? maybe..... read more

My recent appointment at AIM Medical Imaging was a boondoggle. Although the receptionist was apologetic, explaining that I had caught them in a very bad week at the clinic and while I appreciate the role human error can play, my experience made me come away feeling AIM showed little concern for my health and well being or for sound medical practice. It seemed more about pushing forward for the sale. It was the handling of these errors and omissions that caused my concern. AIM did not give me any pre-procedure information. Among other things they did not tell me that I would need a blood/kidney function test in order to be given contrast dye with the MRI which they were aware my neurosurgeon has stressed was essential. The radiologist suggested that "to help me out" she could go ahead without the dye since in her opinion it might not be necessary anyway. She would also waive my not having had the requisite blood/kidney test, proceeding without them based on her judgement that I would probably be fine. Since I had to ask family members to re-organize their days in order to drive me to AIM I was doubly disappointed at AIM's lack of interest and professionalism in delivering an important - and costly - procedure. read more

Just had my enhanced prostate MRI done at AiM. Dr. Attariwala explain all of the images before the enhancement and after the enhancement almost immediately after the MRI was completed. He also explained to me the benefits and drawbacks of many other types of prostate examination methods. I asked Dr. Attariwala what is education was. First he was a medical doctor, then an engineer, and radiologist. Because of his engineering background he likes to tune up your modify the MRI machine and make sure it is running at optimal performance and they're really delivering the best images possible through special enhancements that is worked out with Siemens the manufacturer. There is never any rush to leave and I considering to be sincere honest doctor I will probably be going back there for future MRIs. read more
