I swore it off however I went and tried other studios where I could get more confident and understand the form. So coming back to Instaphysique I had more of a foundational knowledge and knew what was ahead of me. But not only that but you also start to find instructors that you prefer their cues and/or energy and that makes a HUGE difference. I love my classes Kristin and Marisa. Clear cues and they have no mercy on my hammies and booty cheeks - but in a good way. When I started I was 5 months postpartum and they were very dedicated to giving me modifications but as soon as my strength started to build again, they challenged me without being pushy or making me feel bad if I couldn't follow. Some tactical things: parking is great in the morning but once 12p and beyond hit, you're fighting lunch and dinner crowds in the parking lot. Not impossible but just not princess parking. There are two clean restrooms in the studio. There isn't really a designated bag/shoe place but you can have it at your station or against the wall. Classes are a bit pricey, I have a membership to cut some cost. However, it's a great 40 minutes and it goes by super fast. I find it to be a VERY efficient burn.

I should tell you all I'm over weight, and have health issues including a bad ankle and knee, and I really don't like to exercise. Why am I giving this rating. Several reasons. 1. I love that Autumn comes to my house so I don't have to do this in public. 2. She works with my disability, i feel like I'm getting physical therapy in addition to a good physical workout. And 3, she pushes me, since i don't like to exercise, it is easy to not push myself, Autumn, has learned me and knows I need to be pushed past my comfort zone. I decided I wanted to go into my 60's (just around the corner in 2023) being the "best me" that I could be so I started taking a Pilates class at my HOA. Autumn was the Pilates instructor and from the beginning, I really liked her approach to fitness. I've always felt that fitness includes mind, body and soul and that's what Autumn was saying as well. When I found out that Autumn was a certified personal trainer and she had received permission from the HOA to train homeowners in the HOA fitness center, I was all in! I started as a client with Autumn in September 2022. Autumn pays particular attention to your form which I really appreciate. She is very knowledgeable and patient as I'm sure I've asked the same questions over and over. Looking back over my journey, I see that Autumn started me off with some basic "building blocks" that have evolved over time. The starting exercises that I thought were so difficult have become easier. I feel better in body, stronger and moving better. I have found that regular exercise is also a great stress reliever. Autumn has been fun to work with, there is a lot of work but also a lot of laughter. I enjoy my weekly hour with Autumn. Since Autumn is "mobile" and not tied to a particular gym, Autumn travels out to meet with my Mom who is 85 years old. My Mom has limited mobility and with Autumn's help, is getting stronger. I really appreciate Autumn and can't say enough good things about her. This has been an awesome journey, one that I will stick with and continue to achieve things I didn't think was possible. Love! Love! Love!…read more When I first moved into this area, I was looking for a new exercise that I would love. I went to various studios: cycling, yoga, pilates, HIIT, infrared studios, and then I went to Pure Barre. Why it was different for me? Five years ago it was hard, today, it's still really hard. You're body gets better and you get stronger, and even though the workout is the same, it's still hard. How the heck does that make sense? Your form gets better so the intensity goes up, you continue to "find your shake" as they say. I still crawl out of there, but I go to turn of my watch and I'd burn anywhere from 250-350 calories consistently in a 50min class. Bonus: you become part of a community. Literally you walk in the door and the staff will greet you by name, don't ask me how they remember after seeing you one time, but it's like walking into Cheers! (only the older ones will get that). Everyone has been kind and welcoming including the other members. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend! But don't quit after the first one, let it challenge you!

The instructors are also super great, they take time to correct form as needed but the class is fast paced and totally easy to follow if you have some barre experience. The studio is also stocked with cute workout clothes and socks are available for purchase, grip socks are needed for every workout. The room is a pretty good size and not crowded at all so I had plenty of room for all the complicated moves I probably failed at. I can't wait to finish up my classes and possibly stay for more!

I told her it was my first time there and all she said was "you're checked in." I had no idea what I was supposed to do. So I also mentioned to the instructor , Bernadette, that it was my first time and she was much more kind and helpful. She talked us through the poses and made sure I was doing them correctly. I did enjoy the class and I will still be returning. Hopefully next time the front desk staff will be more welcoming.

It sets a calm, focused tone and leaves me feeling strong, stretched, and energized. I love the feeling of self-care and the warm sense of community the moment you walk in. The studio is always spotless, well organized, and welcoming. The quality of instruction is truly excellent. Classes are thoughtfully structured to build strength, flexibility, and balance, and the instructors are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely caring. I attend at least four times a week, which has brought me tremendous peace of mind during this season of life. I've set a personal goal of reaching 500 classes so I can sign the milestone board in the entrance hallway -- a wonderful motivator that keeps me committed to my health.
