We ordered take out for dinner and got: -a small bowl of tom-yum soup with tofu -pineapple fried rice with chicken -pad thai with beef Service was nice and was very fast with the order. The soup was good but definitely more sour than usual. It's fine because I love sour haha! The pineapple fried rice with chicken was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. The pad thai with beef was good but, I was surprise that they didn't pack lime in the box. They also provided the chili on the side too. I would try this place again!

Love this place! Came in to the restaurant today. I have ordered from Pure Thai on DoorDash many times before. My favorite is the Pad Woon Sen with shrimp. So light and flavorful. The fried rice is stellar too. Pure Thai is great for vegetarian eaters. Pure platter is also a winner with a variety of fresh and fried appetizers for $19.99. Pro Tip: Show them your Yelp review for a free Thai iced tea!

We love pure Thai. We come once a week as a tradition. I'm convinced their tom kha soup is the best in town. Plus the people who work there are super sweet. We have a somewhat complex special order and they are so sweet about it and always get it right. I also find that I really like their chicken meat. I can be a bit picky about chicken and like theirs a lot. It's well trimmed and never too chewy. I also like that the inside is cozy, although we mostly do take out. Grateful to have this place in our community! (And be sure to finish out with a donut next door from a Christy's!)

Cashew veg - sauce too runny, lacks flavor

Came for the roti and left with a mixed impression. The Good - they have multiple types of Thai style roti, and I enjoyed the peanut sauce and veg dice accompaniments. The mango curry was also yummy, featuring plenty of mango chunks, a balanced curry profile and a nice variety of fresh veg. The Bad - the Cashew Veg seemed like it came from a different kitchen. The sauce was way more watery than expected, which could hVe been overcome if the thin sauce had any flavor but unfortunately it did not. Also, the vast majority of veg was cabbage and there were multiple types of veg that did not look very fresh. Conclusion - While I was glad to find decent roti near me (without making the 1.5 hr round-trip trek to Carlsbad), the price point here was not great ($11 for 2 roti - - even worse value at $7 for one "dessert" roti aka regular roti piece with small side of canned condensed milk) and its hard to overlook the big miss with a standard dish like cashew veg.

Pure Thai is located in a little gas-station-sized plaza alongside a donut shop and mexican place right off the main road. It's my friend's go to in the Point Loma area for years. We were seated quickly on a Friday night and it was casual but comfortable dining. My friend's pad see ew was good, flavorful and how she always likes it. I got the drunken noodle which had a higher spice level. Not too bad, but when I ate the first tofu piece it was a little cold-just on that piece. And although the heat level was a noticeable mild-medium I felt that the flavor of my noodle was not as noticeable as I would like. Otherwise I had no complaints. The veggies were fresh, service was chill, and pricing acceptable.

My new favorite Thai place! I got medium spice number four, but I probably could've handled number five spicy. The service was excellent. The portions were huge, but I did come after lunch. I could only eat half of the soup and like five or six bites of the noodles I've got a good dinner waiting for me tonight. Ambience was chill. I highly recommend.

Thank you staff for creating a pleasant dinner experience for my partner and I first visit. As a vegan, I enjoyed the food & options to choose from! Great place for vegans & non vegan diets to come together. The interior is clean & well decorated too. The overall price is reasonable for amount of food!

    FRESH SALAD ROLLS WITH TOFU

Went here after visiting the library and it was a delight. Lots of tea choices. The thing I was most excited for was the sarong shrimp. They didn't have it listed in the appetizers, but they had a picture of it. This menu item is near and dear to my heart because I would order it when I was a child at my local Thai restaurant. Most Thai spots don't make it because I think it is a pain in the butt to do. Anyway I ordered it and the noodles were thicker than in the picture on the menu, but still delightful. I also ordered the fresh salad rolls with tofu which were filling while fresh. The table ordered Tom Kha soup, and I appreciate that you can tell them on a scale of 1-10 how spicy. My friend ordered the pad see eew and it was fine, but nothing to write home about. PAY WITH CASH for 5% OFF!!!!

I ordered for delivery and was a little worried the food would be soggy and cold but it wasn't! The flavors in the protein for the lettuce wrap were so good! The mushrooms added a nice earth taste and great texture. The coconut shrimp were fried perfectly and season well.

I ordered PAD THAI NOODLES with chicken

Beef noodle soup - excellent flavor overall, including a strong broth and a nice, soft texture to the noodles. Out of the countless Chinese restaurants I've visited for beef noodle soup, this makes its way into the top three. 5/5 Lamb skewers - wayyyyy too dry. This is certainly not their specialty, and asking for extra cumin to sprinkle on the lamb did not redeem the firmness. I struggled to slide the meat off the skewer and ended up just eating it while still on the stick. 1.5/5 Fish fillet - so good. Easy to eat texture-wise. Caution -- a bit saltier than it looks. The bell peppers in particular were seasoned spectacularly. 4.5/5 Dry fried green beans - a delicious option for vegetables to add to the table. Most people will enjoy this one in my opinion. A bit more crunch than I expected, which is not a bad thing. 4/5 Double cooked pork - I've never seen it cooked this way, and am not a fan. I'm used to a more oily version of this dish. It contained a bunch of dried and crunchy... yams? Potatoes? Overall, the dish was mainly crunch with no flavor, and contained a relatively small amount of pork. 1/5

Parking can get pretty competitive here so come early. Seating: Inside seating for maybe about 25 people, 5 small groups or so. Vibes: North Park is known for its lively food and entertainment scene, but this spot leans more on the calm and cozy side--which is a nice change of pace. If you're looking for something more relaxed, this is your spot. I enjoyed the subtle Japanese-inspired playlist in the background--it added to the overall ambiance without being distracting. The artwork gives the space a warm touch, especially the Bruce Lee painting. It feels like one of those places you can come back to regularly when you want something comforting and reliable. Definitely more comfort-focused than trendy, and that's part of the appeal. FOOD / DRINKS Spicy Miso Noodle Soup (Recommend) This was a solid bowl. You're getting a spicy miso broth with slow-cooked pork belly, bok choy, carrots, and noodles (ramen or udon)--so it hits that comforting, savory lane right away. The broth has a nice kick without being overwhelming, and the pork belly adds that richness to balance everything out. It's one of those bowls that feels hearty, warm, and satisfying--especially if you're craving something with depth and a little spice. SERVICE Friendly and efficient. Food comes out pretty quickly, which is always a plus when you're hungry. TL;DR OVERALL 4 stars. Good food, reasonable prices, rich selection, and a pleasant experience. At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice.
