I paid Shegun to conduct an air quality test at the recommendation of a real estate agent who referred me to him. After I was given verbal results of my test and quote to remedy thru the realtor, I called Shegun and requested him to forward the lab results to me. Days went by and the response I received from Shegun was that I was harassing him (for my results really?). I decided to do some research on this company and found out Shegun's licensed has been expired since 2016, in addition no proof of being certified by the State of California to do his type of business, and an adverse ruling against Pure r space in 2012 Superior court of San Diego. Now I am being harassed by Shegun as you can see the screen shot of an email he sent me suggesting I go to hell and commit suicide. He also called me stupid in a text message. And he threatened to sue me if I wrote about my experience. Do yourself a favor before hiring a contractor by going to the contractor's board website in your state and doing your due diligence. I wish I had rather than depend on my real estate agent to refer a competent and licensed contractor. BTW. The lab results are negative for biological matters which means I was given a false positive in order to induce me to spend $1,800. read more

I contacted this company after getting quotes from two other places to take out the mold inside my wall. For a similar price that was offered just to take out the mold, the owner did that and rebuilt the wall. In just two days of working on it, he and his assistant did a great job. Do not use this company! The Pure-r Space owner Shegun Olora owed me $7,700.00 and his business check to me bounced. Shegun won't return my calls the last four days. I would hate for someone else to be impacted by this. Here is his email from Shegun to me 12/5/18: Good morning Larry, Sorry I couldn't respond to your calls yesterday due to the unexpected escalations that got the authorities involved. I'm personally responsible for this fiasco. I wish I knew better, I didn't pay attention to the warning signs. The check we received in error that belonged to you from the escrow company should've triggered noticeable changes in our protocols when my partner refused to deposit it for weeks and demanded your signature endorsement. My partner had forced his own financial exit without mutual agreement or legal authorization by systematically emptying our entire reserves. At this juncture, our entire operation is temporarily suspended until this is all sorted out. We have 22 of our 26 employees impacted immediately as well as over 15 vendors. Your position is especially unique because your check was not even part of our operations. I'm embarrassed and feel shameful that this was completely avoidable. The previous owner had gotten the 10 year warranty but had not completed the vent work he recommended so that the mold wouldn't come back. Shegun's business partner that I've never met just called today and threatened to take the review off otherwise they will sue me. My review is 100% true and I have proof of what happened. Shegun is totally lying about all the facts and wrote a fiction novel under my review. I had bought the house 2 months before they came out to my property and he evaluated my house air quality and told me that there was no odor problems inside the house except the laundry room and garage. I missed the court date because they changed the date several times due to COVID and I didn't received the last one but this company needs to be seen by a judge and I am reopening my case. Total scam artist. We called him to take a look at a problem. He advertised a free estimate. Instead he did a bunch of unauthorized work and sent me a bill for $8500. My landlord hire Shegun to remediate a mold issue in my apartment. The company used and sprayed the entire apartment with some unknown chemicals. When I walked into the apartment after, you could see the mist in the air. Shegan was amazing! Being a first time home buyer and just moving in five months ago, we had to experience a the most disheartening incident. Me and my wife noticed that we had a leak under our sink. The fact I had cancer is NOT the issue and is no one else's business. I wish the owner of this company would respect my privacy and stop telling everyone my private health history. The fact remains, he told his workers to use too much chemical and therefore damaged clothing which did not have mold and did not need to be treated. Prior to the work done, I asked repeatedly if I needed to move any clothes out of his way to get to the mold in the closets, and he said no. Only sections of our home had mold and we did not tell him to process additional areas and they were not on the contract. Prior to replacing the clothes, we had agreed I would replace all clothes that I could find, and during this time it was Labor Day weekend so ALL replaced clothes were bought at a huge discount already. The price did not go up arbitrarily; he damaged over 20 pieces and I replaced 20 pieces over time. Eventually we set on an agreed $624.50 amount and I waited over 9 months, with no calls or email communication back. When the owner finally communicate back (after repeatedly calling and emailing him over 10 times during a 3 month cycle), all he gave me was excuses. After a final demand for the agreed reimbursement, I sued them in small claims. As of 2/25/2012, I was awarded with winning the claim for the amount of $1010.83. So apparently, even the Superior Court of California Judge agrees that Pure R Space screwed me and owes me the money. The sad point is if he had not agreed to reimburse me in the beginning I would not have replaced the clothes and/or, if he would have just paid me back after agreeing the original amount of 624 we would have not been in this predicament. read more

Let me begin by saying I did not hire this company. However, I did want to commend Shegun on his honesty in telling me I didn't need his services rather than just taking my money. After opening eacrow and doing the home inspection on a property, mold was discovered. It was bad enough that I was ill after the inspection (I have fairly bad allergies). The seller agreed to do the mold remediation but I was advised to hire my own inspector to clear the area after the work was completed. Shegun contacted me via Thumbtack to offer his services and we spoke by phone. After explaining my situation, he not only said I didn't need his help, he gave me the exact verbage to use to ensure that the clearance was done and also paid for by the seller. It worked! We are mold-free and I didn't have to unnecessarily part with my hard earned money. I had a mold issue in one area of my three level home. I called this company and someone arrived promptly at the agreed date and time and did the treatment of the involved area. I was present during the job. The chemical used was odorless. I asked about the safety of the chemical and was told it was all natural and biodegradable. The biochemical explanation was impressive, clear and easy to understand. I was instructed to watch out for any reoccurrence.
