Cycle Werks in Barrington

Just completed a ride down Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica and even though I ride a Harley,…read moreCycle Werks agreed to be the drop off point for shipping my bike from Washington State. Adam and his crew were top f'ing notch in the way they handled things, especially after the shipper damaged the bike en route. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. I'm not quite ready to get off my Harley and onto a Beemer (like my buddy has done) but if I was ready, I'd fly to Chicago just to buy from these guys -- that's how great was their assistance and service.

I'm unfortunately updating my previous positive review after a disappointing experience regarding…read morethe 600-mile service on my 2025 BMW S1000RR. To be clear, the service itself was completed professionally and I paid the $420 bill without issue. My frustration is not about paying for maintenance -- it's about feeling misled throughout the process and disappointed by the lack of customer care. When I purchased the bike brand new, I was told the first 600-mile service was included. Because of the Midwest riding season and winter storage, I didn't hit the mileage until later. During visits in January and March, I specifically asked if I could bring the bike in early for service since I was still under the mileage requirement at the time. I was told no and that the bike needed to be at least around 550 miles before the service could be performed. Now, after completing and paying for the service, I was informed that as of January 2026 the bike actually could have been brought in as early as 350 miles. That was extremely frustrating to hear because it directly contradicted what I had been told previously when I made efforts to schedule the service earlier. Had I been given accurate and consistent information from the beginning, this entire situation could have been avoided. What also disappointed me was that the 6-month limitation was never strongly emphasized during purchase or during my follow-up visits. Most dealerships that value long-term relationships would at least provide a courtesy reminder or better guidance regarding an important warranty/service deadline, especially for customers who actively service and purchase through them regularly. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I completely understand dealerships have policies and need to run a business, but consistency and customer communication matter. I've purchased and serviced 3 BMW motorcycles through them, regularly bought riding gear there, tipped staff generously, and even referred multiple customers who ended up purchasing bikes from them. I genuinely believed I was building a long-term relationship with this dealership. In fact, I was seriously considering purchasing a new M1000R from them as my next bike, but after this experience, I've decided I'll be taking my business elsewhere. This review is not directed at any one employee personally, but rather the overall handling of the situation and lack of customer goodwill. Very disappointing experience from a dealership I previously spoke highly of.

DSP Motorsports - 2024 Goldwing

5 Stars - Outstanding Service from Isabel at DPS Motorsports!…read more I recently purchased a 2024 Honda Goldwing from DPS Motorsports, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience--especially thanks to Isabel. From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping me find the right bike. Isabel made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She answered all my questions with confidence and clarity, never rushed me, and made sure I was completely comfortable with every aspect of the purchase. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly attitude really stood out. The Goldwing itself is everything I hoped for--powerful, smooth, and loaded with features--but what made the experience truly memorable was the level of care Isabel put into making it all happen. If you're in the market for a motorcycle, I highly recommend DPS Motorsports--and definitely ask for Isabel. She's a true asset to the team and made this an exceptional buying experience from start to finish!

Worst Sales/Financing experience i've had. Deceptive, price packing practices are used…read more Already agreed on a much higher OTD price of $8700 for 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 500 SE ABS. During the finance signing, was told maintenance package required by Lender/Kawasaki and it was added. I asked if the total OTD price remained unchanged and was told "sure, whatever was agreed on" When signing final paperwork, I did see the total price was higher. Asked what it was or if it was the expected interest on loan, told again "sure". Not once I was told the actual price of the maintenance package and that it was additional to the OTD agreed on price. Caught this later and called in the next day, wanted it removed. Told it can't be removed, non-cancelable and lender requires it. To make it worse, maintenance package doesn't include the 500 mile chain interval service even though its a manufacturer recommendation. Rip off!!!
