Literally creating a Yelp account to leave this warning review. Do NOT use Pure OBGYN for your healthcare needs. This office commits insurance fraud and bills for medical care that is not rendered. When asked to correct claims and re-submit them to insurance, based on the claims being an incorrect reflection of what transpired in an appointment, they claim that is not possible and simply point you to your insurance company to file an appeal, even though the insurance company did nothing wrong other than process the charge from Pure that was fraudulent. Their managers are rude and have extremely poor communication skills - I had to call their office once a week for 5 weeks to get someone to call me back after she promised she would get back in touch. And their billing department simply never gets back to you about your issues or questions and then randomly sends an email saying they "tried to get in touch but couldn't reach you and were told that someone else already helped you." Their front desk staff shares personal health information out loud for others to hear and they also don't remove the urine samples from the broken little closet in the bathroom in between patients - HIPAA violations left and right. I had an experience in March 2025 where I went in for an annual appointment and asked a question about birth control, sharing some background information about my health as the context for the question. The provider answered the birth control question and then moved on. When I left the appointment I was charged for a full office visit because I went outside the bounds of an annual appointment, which simply isn't true as birth control counseling falls under their annual appointment guide. The provider had recorded that the information I shared about my health was a subject that she provided assistance on, even though she didn't. I have now been in a 7 month long chase trying to get this practice to do their job and correct the claim and re-submit it, and they have refused every time. Reading other 1-star reviews, I see that they do this a lot and it just screams fraud!! It's so crazy to be treated like this in 2025!! Additionally, I had an IUD replaced in May of 2025 and ultimately was charged $500+ for multiple ultrasounds that they performed. This practice seems to genuinely just charge you for as many things as they can so they can rip patients off left and right. I'm reporting this practice everywhere I can because they are unprofessional and I can't believe this is what women still have to deal with in the healthcare space. read more

Absolutely terrible. If I could give zero stars I would. Billing system is a mess, they are not upfront with costs at all and you WILL get billed hundreds of dollars a few months later- so look out for that! Please find ANY other practice besides this one. The doctors are jokes too. Also it's a million degrees in the office and they are never on time to take you for your appointment. Some sparkling water in the waiting room is not worth the hell you will go through at this office. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

I have never left a review before and made a yelp account specifically to say STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! I only came for an annual. I'm a new patient as I'm new to the area. I should've stuck with my previous gyno in Queens but wanted something closer and paid the price for convenience. The office including the exam rooms are dingy and dirty. There were random small wrappers, paper, hair, dirt, and whatever else between the exam table and the wall and on the floor in general. Everyone was rude. My intake nurse was extremely unprofessional and struggled to complete the intake accurately. The woman at the front desk does not explain things well despite us looking at an itemized list together and it should have been easy for her to point out the tests and charges. The doctor couldn't care less about anything I had to say, even questions I had. I would never go here for a checkup, let alone if I was facing some type of issue and needed assistance, and DEFINITELY NOT if I was pregnant or trying to be. A disorganized, unprofessional, disrespectful, incompetent mess. Rude and unorganized in person, rude and unorganized over the phone. I purposefully chose this location in order to be seen by a POC doctor, hoping to feel safer and more heard but I will be going elsewhere. You should, too. read more

I stayed with this practice way longer than I should have, almost until my third trimester. As a first time mom to be and a generally healthy person, I don't have much experience going to the doctor. Only now that I have switched to a different OB, that is part of an actual hospital, do I see how wasteful my experience here was. The receptionists were very sweet and accommodating and the only bright light. I barely saw the actual doctors. Ultrasound techs would always say, that they were not allowed to tell me anything, so it was a guessing game most of the time. After my 20 week sonogram I haven't heard from the doctor for almost a week. Ultrasound tech stayed silent almost the whole time and said that the doctor would call me in a couple of days. When I finally did hear from them, it was via email from a doctor I had never met. The email had 3 sentences that said everything was fine with no details. We were extremely disappointed and resolved to find another provider ASAP. Be careful with the billing here. You are almost certain to receive multiple confusing bills months after the procedures and conveniently the day before an appointment. So you would have no choice but to pay them. When I called their billing department, I didn't hear from them for over a week, despite 48 hour promise. They completely drained my HSA in a few months I came here and once charged me twice. I had to have proof of payment emailed over. When my insurance notified me that the hospital their doctors are affiliated with wasn't in network, I asked to transfer my medical records. At that point I got multiple calls that very day trying to convince me otherwise. Naturally I didn't believe them. I'm addition they take unreasonably long time for any needed paperwork. The one time I requested a form filled out, I did not receive it back until weeks after the date I needed it. And I made sure to drop it off 2 weeks prior to the deadline, which I clearly specified. My only advice is do your research and if something doesn't feel right, it' probably isn't Trust your intuition. I wish I had listened to mine sooner. I had an annual exam with Doctor Cheng Tou and had a great first visit. I was able to make my appointment easily online and got an appointment for the following week. The office was efficient during check-in and I only waited a few minutes for my appointment. Doctor Tou was very nice, made me feel comfortable throughout the visit, and answered all my questions. So happy to have found a great doctor and office in a convenient location. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this place so let's just divide it by pros & cons: Pros: making an appointment was super easy (I used zoc doc and was able to confirm they took my insurance. They also have evening availability which is perfect so I don't have to miss work.) I received a confirmation call before my appointment which was a great sign that the online appointments work. The office is clean and modern, the staff is friendly, and I didn't have a long wait to see the doctor. Dr. Pelletier was super sweet and explained everything thoroughly. I was there for a specific issue and she did the appropriate testing. They also do blood work right at the office which is convenient. I got my results via patient portal about a week after my exam. Cons: after receiving a message from the doctor via patient portal about my results I have not been able to get in contact with her to discuss. The online portal does not allow you to respond to the doctor so if you need to speak with her or get an rx you have to call the office. I've been calling the office every other day for about a week to get an rx sent to my pharmacy and every time they say "oh yea we sent a message to the Dr and she should send it by end of day." I've heard that exact line 3 different days. Im a pharmacist so I understand how offices can be backed up but to provide a patient with a diagnosis then completely ghost them is ridiculous. As I read other reviews I see that a lot of patients struggle for continuity of care so basically if you need more than a regular annual pap smear I would go somewhere else. I also see a lot of reviews about insurance issues/false billing/multiple bills for 1 visit/etc.- I haven't received my bill yet so let's see how that goes.. read more

The thought of switching to a new gyn can be overwhelming, but Pure OBGYN made this process seamless. You can book an appointment using ZocDoc or you can phone ahead. The facilities were pristine and the receptionists were very friendly and accommodating. The wait time was short and my Gyn was able to answer all of my questions. A bonus is that this location is conveniently located in downtown Brooklyn. I definitely recommend giving them a try. read more

This is hands down the worst healthcare experience I have ever had, to the point where I would consider it malpractice. The level of operational dysfunction was frankly shocking and beyond what I imagined possible. Below are details. April 2 - I go in for a consultation with Lina Pilshchik, DO regarding an endometrial ablation. She confirms that the office can perform the procedure for me and I am scheduled that same week, April 7th. This all seems fairly straightforward, except I will not be informed of the actual time of the surgery until the day before, which is mildly annoying, but understandable. I ask the office if it would be possible to schedule the surgery for the following week, and am told that it depends on availability and to call back. April 7 - The surgery is rescheduled for the following weekend, April 13. April 13 - On the day of the surgery, a few hours before it is scheduled, I receive a call from the Vanessa Pinard, MD, informing me that (A) The office has not prepared and did not bring in the equipment needed for the surgery, (B) I cannot undergo the surgery anyways, as I need to first have an endometrial biopsy. It is unclear why I was never told I needed a biopsy. We find out during the biopsy that I should have taken medication beforehand. Because I have not, the biopsy cannot be performed. I will need to come back another day, after taking the medication 4-5 hours before the surgery. April 14 - I go into the office and get the biopsy with Christine Friedman, MD, who tells me that the results will be available later that week, and if everything is benign, I will be clear to get the endometrial ablation. April 17 - Christine Friedman, MD calls me with the results of the biopsy, clearing me for the endometrial ablation that Saturday, April 20th. April 19 - After everything that has happened, I call the office just to confirm that there are no issues, and also to ask if I will need to take medication beforehand. On that phone call, I am then informed that I cannot undergo the surgery because I need a biopsy. When I inform the office I have had the biopsy, they tell me that this clinic actually does not perform the procedure at all, so the surgery is not possible. I will have to find an alternate provider. read more

Doctors are great. However the billing, and horrible communication system is just that, horrible. Maddening. They are charging for tests without giving upfront costs for one to decide. You can not get in touch with your provider, without emailing the entire office. How hard is it to have a direct way to message a provider? They have a gate keeper system and it's just awful. I have referred more than 10 people, because my doctor is great. But I don't know that I will continue here myself. They need a system like mychart or someway to get in to touch directly. Or at least a way for the doctors to message the patient directly, other than days and days of phone tag. So very very frustrating. The "apologies," by the business manager on here, doesn't cut it. Efforts would be better spent by fixing this issue. read more
