I went here for a visit recently and had booked an appointment through ZocDoc with a female OBGYN. I was instead seen by a male doctor who I had not booked the appointment with. No one warned me, asked if I was ok with this change. or even explained that there would be a change or why. I didn't realize I was seeing a different doc until he walked in the room. I found this to be very unprofessional. Also the doctor I saw was dismissive, said what my issue was was not a gynecological issue even though I was referred to a gyno by my GP and offered no assistance in helping redirect me to another physician. Just told me to "find a general surgeon." I've had great experiences at PURE before so was shocked to be treated this way. read more

It's absolutely impossible to get in touch with a doctor once you leave the office. Nobody answers the text system or the patient portal. The front desk takes messages and there's never follow up. Also, the doctor I met with called in the wrong prescription twice--I had to call back multiple times to let him know the medication he prescribed didn't treat the issue my culture identified, and even then he just called in what I told him to instead of looking at my chart. So frustrating - and made me scared to trust them as my OB. UPDATE: emailed the contact offered below and ... no response. lol. read more

This is my second time here and I'll definitely be back for my annuals. I've been to other OBGYN where I'm there for the whole day. I spend maybe 30 minutes from checking in vitals and being seen by the doctor. I mentioned some pain and I was able to have the sonographer check my uterus for anything uncommon. I never write reviews, but felt compelled to warn other women to stay far away from Pure OBGYN. I have been a patient at Pure for 5+ years. When going just for routine annual exams, the experience was impersonal but fine. As a patient, though, your hope is that when something is truly wrong, you can actually turn to your doctor for help. When I had a major medical issue develop this year, Pure was terrible in every way. 1. Most importantly, Dr. Tou completely misdiagnosed my condition, causing me to go down a treatment plan that caused countless new issues and didn't get to the root of the problem. I was given a "diagnosis of exclusion" of a very rare condition that seemed very unusual for my age, and when I questioned it, I was told there was no further testing that could be done. Once I finally saw a specialist, I found out that this was patently false. Rather than flag the possibility of other conditions outside of Pure's expertise/refer out, Pure moved forward with an aggressive and incorrect treatment. 2. You can never actually communicate directly with your doctor if you have questions or emergencies, and you will never receive a call from the doctor to discuss test results or treatments. Throughout my recent experience, I learned that this is an actual silent matter of policy: one time, after begging to speak to the doctor about a very time-sensitive decision of what treatment plan to follow, the front-desk staff admitted that they are explicitly instructed to never connect your call to your doctor and that she was not allowed to connect me. This practice goes so far as to become completely negligent. When my doctor put me at serious risk by writing my prescription incorrectly for a much, much higher dose than normal, my pharmacist thankfully caught it and both she and I kept trying to reach the doctor to no avail to find out the correct dosage. The front desk initially lied to me that the doctor wasn't in that day, and only when I used the words "negligent" and "unsafe" did they change their tune and admit that the doctor was in fact in the office and could clarify the correct dosage with the pharmacist. Over the course of several months and countless in-office visits, I was always promised call-backs to review test results/discuss treatment options. I was never given a call back from the doctor. When I followed up, I was told to leave a portal message; most would go entirely unanswered, while a handful would be responded to in incredibly brief and unhelpful terms many days later. The one and only time I successfully badgered to speak with the doctor, she gave me precisely 4 minutes and 10 seconds of her time before saying we had been speaking for too long and she couldn't address any more questions. She made very clear that it was unreasonable and burdensome for me to expect a call at all. (This after I received positive test results for a condition I had never heard of, and no guidance from the doctor on next steps.) This deeply unempathetic form of care was upsetting enough for the medical issues I was going through, but I can't even imagine going through this utter lack of communication throughout all the ups and downs of a pregnancy, and I am truly shocked that Pure operates as an OBGYN practice. 3. It's become increasingly clear to me that for Pure, actual gynecological care is very much a second priority to maximizing profits. I now constantly receive marketing emails from them promoting lucrative, non-insurance based cosmetic procedures (e.g., a recent e-mail advertising a "summer promo" on Botox at "only $10 per unit for a limited time!"). The one positive thing that I will say is that Angela Ferin is a compassionate, trauma-informed midwife, and I was lucky enough to see her a couple times. If she worked at any other practice, I would love to continue seeing her. I hope this information might help other women steer clear of Pure. Women's health care has been abysmal for far too long, but basic compassion and thorough testing/diagnosis should not be too much to ask for. read more

Literally creating a Yelp account to leave this warning review. Do NOT use Pure OBGYN for your healthcare needs. This office commits insurance fraud and bills for medical care that is not rendered. When asked to correct claims and re-submit them to insurance, based on the claims being an incorrect reflection of what transpired in an appointment, they claim that is not possible and simply point you to your insurance company to file an appeal, even though the insurance company did nothing wrong other than process the charge from Pure that was fraudulent. Their managers are rude and have extremely poor communication skills - I had to call their office once a week for 5 weeks to get someone to call me back after she promised she would get back in touch. And their billing department simply never gets back to you about your issues or questions and then randomly sends an email saying they "tried to get in touch but couldn't reach you and were told that someone else already helped you." Their front desk staff shares personal health information out loud for others to hear and they also don't remove the urine samples from the broken little closet in the bathroom in between patients - HIPAA violations left and right. I had an experience in March 2025 where I went in for an annual appointment and asked a question about birth control, sharing some background information about my health as the context for the question. The provider answered the birth control question and then moved on. When I left the appointment I was charged for a full office visit because I went outside the bounds of an annual appointment, which simply isn't true as birth control counseling falls under their annual appointment guide. The provider had recorded that the information I shared about my health was a subject that she provided assistance on, even though she didn't. I have now been in a 7 month long chase trying to get this practice to do their job and correct the claim and re-submit it, and they have refused every time. Reading other 1-star reviews, I see that they do this a lot and it just screams fraud!! It's so crazy to be treated like this in 2025!! Additionally, I had an IUD replaced in May of 2025 and ultimately was charged $500+ for multiple ultrasounds that they performed. This practice seems to genuinely just charge you for as many things as they can so they can rip patients off left and right. I'm reporting this practice everywhere I can because they are unprofessional and I can't believe this is what women still have to deal with in the healthcare space. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this place so let's just divide it by pros & cons: Pros: making an appointment was super easy (I used zoc doc and was able to confirm they took my insurance. They also have evening availability which is perfect so I don't have to miss work.) I received a confirmation call before my appointment which was a great sign that the online appointments work. The office is clean and modern, the staff is friendly, and I didn't have a long wait to see the doctor. Dr. Pelletier was super sweet and explained everything thoroughly. I was there for a specific issue and she did the appropriate testing. They also do blood work right at the office which is convenient. I got my results via patient portal about a week after my exam. Cons: after receiving a message from the doctor via patient portal about my results I have not been able to get in contact with her to discuss. The online portal does not allow you to respond to the doctor so if you need to speak with her or get an rx you have to call the office. I've been calling the office every other day for about a week to get an rx sent to my pharmacy and every time they say "oh yea we sent a message to the Dr and she should send it by end of day." I've heard that exact line 3 different days. Im a pharmacist so I understand how offices can be backed up but to provide a patient with a diagnosis then completely ghost them is ridiculous. As I read other reviews I see that a lot of patients struggle for continuity of care so basically if you need more than a regular annual pap smear I would go somewhere else. I also see a lot of reviews about insurance issues/false billing/multiple bills for 1 visit/etc.- I haven't received my bill yet so let's see how that goes.. read more

I stayed with this practice way longer than I should have, almost until my third trimester. As a first time mom to be and a generally healthy person, I don't have much experience going to the doctor. Only now that I have switched to a different OB, that is part of an actual hospital, do I see how wasteful my experience here was. The receptionists were very sweet and accommodating and the only bright light. I barely saw the actual doctors. Ultrasound techs would always say, that they were not allowed to tell me anything, so it was a guessing game most of the time. After my 20 week sonogram I haven't heard from the doctor for almost a week. Ultrasound tech stayed silent almost the whole time and said that the doctor would call me in a couple of days. When I finally did hear from them, it was via email from a doctor I had never met. The email had 3 sentences that said everything was fine with no details. We were extremely disappointed and resolved to find another provider ASAP. Be careful with the billing here. You are almost certain to receive multiple confusing bills months after the procedures and conveniently the day before an appointment. So you would have no choice but to pay them. When I called their billing department, I didn't hear from them for over a week, despite 48 hour promise. They completely drained my HSA in a few months I came here and once charged me twice. I had to have proof of payment emailed over. When my insurance notified me that the hospital their doctors are affiliated with wasn't in network, I asked to transfer my medical records. At that point I got multiple calls that very day trying to convince me otherwise. Naturally I didn't believe them. I'm addition they take unreasonably long time for any needed paperwork. The one time I requested a form filled out, I did not receive it back until weeks after the date I needed it. And I made sure to drop it off 2 weeks prior to the deadline, which I clearly specified. My only advice is do your research and if something doesn't feel right, it' probably isn't Trust your intuition. I wish I had listened to mine sooner. Absolutely terrible. If I could give zero stars I would. Billing system is a mess, they are not upfront with costs at all and you WILL get billed hundreds of dollars a few months later- so look out for that! Please find ANY other practice besides this one. The doctors are jokes too. Also it's a million degrees in the office and they are never on time to take you for your appointment. Some sparkling water in the waiting room is not worth the hell you will go through at this office. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

I have never left a review before and made a yelp account specifically to say STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! I only came for an annual. I'm a new patient as I'm new to the area. I should've stuck with my previous gyno in Queens but wanted something closer and paid the price for convenience. The office including the exam rooms are dingy and dirty. There were random small wrappers, paper, hair, dirt, and whatever else between the exam table and the wall and on the floor in general. Everyone was rude. My intake nurse was extremely unprofessional and struggled to complete the intake accurately. The woman at the front desk does not explain things well despite us looking at an itemized list together and it should have been easy for her to point out the tests and charges. The doctor couldn't care less about anything I had to say, even questions I had. I would never go here for a checkup, let alone if I was facing some type of issue and needed assistance, and DEFINITELY NOT if I was pregnant or trying to be. A disorganized, unprofessional, disrespectful, incompetent mess. Rude and unorganized in person, rude and unorganized over the phone. I purposefully chose this location in order to be seen by a POC doctor, hoping to feel safer and more heard but I will be going elsewhere. You should, too. read more

The thought of switching to a new gyn can be overwhelming, but Pure OBGYN made this process seamless. You can book an appointment using ZocDoc or you can phone ahead. The facilities were pristine and the receptionists were very friendly and accommodating. The wait time was short and my Gyn was able to answer all of my questions.
