New client here and thoroughly enjoying the classes! Every class and instructor is different which makes it so fun, yet challenging!

This review is specifically for Gretchen's Reform class at the NW Reno Studio. I came in for my very first class ever with Pure Barre. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by the friendly staff, including Gretchen. She was very friendly, asked if i've ever been to any Pure Barre studio before. When i said no, she proceeded to make sure i had the right socks, and got me all set up in the studio. She explained the equipment and made sure I was in a spot that I could easily follow along. The class was fun with great music and was a great workout with the ability to cater to your particular level. I would say if you're new to pilates/working out maybe start with their regular class as this probably would have been too strenuous for a total beginner. Gretchen was very positive, encouraging and helpful during the entire class. When we finished she made sure to come up to me to ask how I enjoyed it. Love Pure Barre - I have gotten toned with this technique which combines Pilates and Ballet. This technique gets to the smaller muscles which will give you definition. I've been doing Pure Barre for almost 2 years and I love it! The instructors are wonderful- both friendly and knowledgeable. There are a variety of class formats and times to choose from which really helps with my unpredictable schedule. My unlimited membership gives me access to all three local studios which helps me meet my workout goals. And- I really love the Pure Barre community. They are all welcoming and encouraging! Pure Barre is the first gym/workout class I have been able to stick with, the instructors are amazing and the community you build is motivating. I love how these classes make me feel more energized and much stronger. I enjoy that with the unlimited membership I can take as many classes as I want and switch between all 3 studios to get a variety of class types. I also love that they offer stretch/yoga classes to encourage gentle muscle lengthening along with the building. Julie always gives the right amount of motivation with gentle encouragement, she is the best! Angee, is also so amazing with all her Richard Simmons and 90's jazzercise energy you don't even realize you are working out because you are having so much fun! All of the instructors give wonderful hands on repositioning so that you never hurt yourself and even help you find deeper stretches in between the workout. Highly recommend! read more

Jeff followed up with his employee who admitted that she had mischaracterized my wife, and he reimbursed us today. I have completed 10 classes so far and am so in love with Barre! I originally enrolled in the 10-day free trial and signed up for a membership before it ended. You get the best rate for your first month if you sign up during the trial and the enrollment fee is waived. The instructors are amazing and so supportive during and after class. It truly feels like a community as you come and go. All classes are difficult in the best way, and they're fun! Each class has a different routine but you learn the motions and techniques after a few classes, though they are always incorporating new moves. It feels SO much better returning for Barre classes over going to the gym or working out at home. Pure Barre sells apparel and the cutest sticky socks for $17.00 in-store. Tips: -Arrive 15-20 minutes early -There is a bathroom, but no changing room. Arrive in your workout attire. -Drink water during transitions -There is a phone app for booking classes which is easy and fast to use. read more

Tried my first Barre class yesterday and man am I sore today! I frequently do hot yoga so I thought I was in good shape. I had no idea what muscles I had been neglecting until coming to this class! It reminded me that it's good to have variety in your workout. I came for the "free" class with some friends who have punch cards. Normally the free class is for the foundations course, but they did let me join in on one of the harder courses so I could be with my friends. If I do another class it'll definitely be the foundations course. I was able to follow along enough to not distract the whole group, but I could tell there were subtle position changes that I just wasn't aware of to target the specific muscle groups. I didn't purchase the grip socks this time and was able to get through the majority of the class just fine. The grip socks they had for purchase were super cute, but $17 each. They were nice enough to leave a pair out for me in case I changed my mind and said I could pay for them after class if need be. I loved that the instructor did hands on adjustments for positioning. It sounds weird, but I really missed this during the pandemic. You get so much more from a workout when your positioning is correct. It was a full class since the studio is on a modified schedule for the holiday, but there was still enough space for everyone. My only recommendation is that they get a water bottle refilling station. Most gyms have them now and so when I was in a hurry to get to class I brought an empty water bottle with the assumption there'd be at least a water fountain. At a minimum, it would be nice to have a few cold beverages for purchase. Even regulars might forget their water bottle every once in a while. read more

I love love love this place!! When I first visited this studio it was on a 10 day free trial. The owner, Micah reached out personally to set up my first class and then after to see if I enjoyed it. I finished my 10 days and signed up with the July special. When I had a personal issue arise the office manager, Hillary, reached out to make sure that everything was okay because I hadn't been to class. All of the instructors that I have had- Nicole, Korie, Anna, Britt, Hannah, Alida, and Adrienne- have been so helpful in helping me accommodate my disability. They have helped me find ways to do the exercises in a manner that allow me to be equal with the class and not hurt myself. Joining Pure Barre has been the best thing ever!! Anyone who is on the fence, I suggest you try it!! read more
