I am moving to the Eastside and was looking for the nearest Pure Barre options and the Redmond location popped up. All the staff and instructors are incredibly warm and helpful and knowledgeable. They make an effort to get to know you and remember your name (and say it correctly!). The classes are really good and follow the classic Pure Barre formula. The facility is convenient in a bustling part of town and has great parking options, so it's easy to squeeze in a class while running errands. I'm really happy to have found this spot! Note, I've been using this via ClassPass and they're moving off the platform, so you'll need to buy classes or a membership directly and they are not transferable across other locations since Pure Barre a private franchise model. read more

I really like the Define class with the heavier weights but there are classes that are more Cardio based or yoga style. I've been going to Pure Barre Redmond for over a year now and really like it. I've seen results with toning and strength. I like the challenges, teachers, music, and people I've met there. It's easy to book classes on the app. I have joint issues from an autoimmune disease and the exercises are gentle enough for me. My rheumatologist also goes to Pure Barre and says it's great for my body. My physical therapist says the same. read more

I came in for the free intro class to get an idea of what Pure Barre is like since I was curious about how different studios teach barre classes. I really enjoyed how this studio really focuses on form. During the intro class the instructor offers hands on correction to your posture and making sure you're feeling the work in the right places. The workout at pure barre definitely seems to be more intense than other barre studios I've been to. Based on other reviews it looks like they used to be on ClassPass but that's not the case anymore. The team at Pure Barre Redmond is so kind and empowering, and the environment reflects that. Everybody is encouraging and helpful. The energy in the studio is always positive and uplifting. The studio is consistently pristine and I'm regularly greeted by my first name. It's such a welcoming environment, and I always feel great after class. I came here for the first time with a ClassPass, and I'm glad I did! I've been to a Pure Barre in Bellevue, but since Pure Barre is franchised, they have different owners. Since I was new, I had to fill out a form and then one of the workers walked me around the studio to show me around and get my equipment set up- I felt very welcomed! I took a class with Lizelle and she was great! I took a previous barre class at a different studio last weekend and in comparison: 1. Pure Barre (PB) has a great stereo system - it was easy to hear instructions without too much noise/interference 2. The floor was easy to work on, and I like the line designs that help make sure you are aligned in poses 3. The mirrors on all the walls make it very easy to see yourself and your posture 4. The instructor at PB, Lizelle, gave better verbal and hands on instructions than the previous studio - I definitely felt more comfortable at PB! 5. I liked that PB has a worker come in mid workout who removes equipment that the class is done with - this leaves more room for movement and easier clean up at the end! 6. The workout had more stretching incorporated at PB to give rest to muscles which I liked Parking: there is a garage right next to the studio for retail, just make sure to remember your license, as you will need to give that to the PB front desk. I signed up via ClassPass and was late by 3 mins precisely ( I have a small baby to take care of ) . They didn't allow me in the class and asked me to follow up with class pass for credits. Such a terrible experience. There was ample space available in the class but they didn't just let me in. There could be n number of reasons for small delays in the summertime and we are all humans . My second favorite Pure Barre studio!! My favorite teacher here is... Katie Kelly! I love that her classes usually include a band that's attached to the bar when class starts. I've taken a class from maybe one other teacher who uses those extra bands. I love this location because it's really close to the Redmond Trader Joe's. Very convenient when I'm in Redmond. I also love the natural light in the studio. Windows are good! The random cool thing is sometimes they have events and little special... things. My favorite was probably the surprise Wine Wednesday treat after class one day! This barre studio is the best I have been too. I miss it so much due to the shutdown. BUT here are some great things about this studio... 1) Direct instruction-this is so helpful. It is so important when getting a workout that your form is being checked. I really like the feedback-they are very honest and respectful. 2) The environment-I was made to feel right at home. I am not a professional athlete-I am still just starting out. Everyone has been so nice and accommodating, and its very encouraging. People remember your name. 3) The fine ladies that run this studio-they are professional, kind and they care. Sometimes they are in class right alongside us. I love this because they are practicing what they preach. 4) I am overcoming a broken foot. They have been 110% accommodating to that and they have gone above and beyond to make sure that throughout I am keeping safe and sound and giving me moves in class that I can do that will (eventually) bring me to the tips of my toes. 5) They want to make sure you are a fit. Their first class is the consultation where they run over some of the terminology, and answer questions. They are clear in their expectations of you. This is an experience that shows what you put into it, you get out of it. I feel like it can be really hard to find a place to work out that lifts your spirit and feeds your motivation. I had SO much fun for my first class at Pure Barre-Redmond. I've been taking PB classes on and off for the last 8ish years so I'm pretty accustomed to the style of the class. I will say, I might start coming here instead of the Bellevue location I usually visit. The PB Redmond studio is larger, has 2 bathrooms, and the actual studio has windows and the natural light is a nice touch. I took Melanie's 4:15 class and I was the only one there, BUT seriously it was the best class I've ever taken. She's amazing, you should definitely get on her schedule, because I've never been so sore in my life. I can't say enough good things about this barre studio. I've been to a few barre studios here in Seattle and Los Angeles and this studio and these instructors are by far the best! I'm a busy mom of 3 and if I'm going to spend my "me time" on a workout, it had better be worth it. Classes at Pure Barre have never let me down. Ever. I love this place. The community that the owner, Lizelle, has created here is just lovely. The instructors get to know you and greet you by name. All of the instructors are so warm and helpful and just generally happy people. I always feel so good coming in. It's a breath of fresh air in my week. My first class at pure barre was with Bella and she kicked. my. butt. It was a killer workout and I was instantly hooked. Her class was amazing; she targeted every muscle group, provided modifications, was full of energy, and motivated us through the class to keep working to make the change in our bodies. The next morning I felt that awesome muscle soreness that reminds you that you worked out the day before. I feel like that's the real test of a workout and it passed with flying colors. I've gone here for about a year and have probably gone to classes taught by 5-6 different instructors by now and they are all amazing. I also want to comment on their modifications. I recently had my 3rd baby and continued by barre workouts throughout the pregnancy. I have hip problems in pregnancy and keeping up with my barre practice throughout made a world of difference this time around as I kept all of my stabilizing muscles strong. Each of the instructors took extra time before each class to go over modifications for me to make sure my hips stayed in alignment and checked in with me multiple times during the classes providing even more support and modification. They are not only knowledgeable but also invested in the progress of each person in class. I can't say enough good things about this studio. This is the WORST experience among all my gym experiences. I was only 1 minute late and I got locked out and charged for no show. Besides that, their system somehow couldn't process my credit card and I wasn't able to book any class through their app or website because of that. But after two months of me not taking any classes, they silently charged me for the past two months for over $300 without explaining anything until I submitted an application to terminate my membership. This is the most FRUSTRATING experience I ever had and sort of a scam! Please be careful if you choose to workout with them. read more

The instructor is clearly professional. She takes you through the movements step by step while also pumping you up with the rhythm of the pounding music. I haven't worked out in a couple of months and this place made it interesting, creative and nonjudgmental. I started going to Pure Barre a couple months ago and am absolutely in love with the facility. The instructors are super friendly and helpful. Noon classes are typically pretty busy, so if you want a smaller class, I would recommend week day morning classes. They also host free classes once a month to "break down the barre" and teach you the techniques in a more personal class, which is pretty neat. You first warm up with weights and a long stretchy band, and when you are finished, a staff member will come and put it away for you, which some other studios don't do. The music seems to go great with the workouts, and the owner, Sami, is super friendly and helpful. I've taken a couple classes with her. I'd highly recommend! read more

The Pure Barre studio in Redmond opened the end of October 2014. I joined on November 5th, 2014. I was terrified to give Pure Barre a try - I have acute lower back issues and have walked out of several other introductory classes in the past several years. The Manager of the Redmond studio was understanding, explained everything to me and happily answered all my (MANY!) questions. I had such a good experience and felt so good physically after my first class, I purchased a class package before leaving the studio the first day. Pure Barre is a workout that has no impact to joints, incorporates light weights for arm and shoulder work, is like a cross between yoga, Pilates and utilizes a ballet bar. It is a great well-rounded workout covering arms and shoulders, thighs, seat and abs. The exercises are approached differently in each class and remain challenging no matter how long you have been working out at Pure Barre. Pure Barre instructors are amazing and have helped me with modifications so that I could be successful in spite of my back issues. Pure Barre offers a welcoming, supportive environment for all with lots of positive motivating and encouragement. Classes at Pure Barre are not just filled with 'afters', there are a wide range of people working toward their own personal best. Each instructor is a professional who is there to help each person reach their goals. I think I am hooked on the feeling of accomplishment I have when I finish a class. Not only do I feel great physically, but I love the feeling of knowing that I did my very best and that I try harder each and every class. I don't compare myself to others - I just compare myself to when I started. It is a part of my day that I truly look forward to - I love the encouragement, motivation and support from all the amazing instructors at each class. LOVE Pure Barre! I've done several types of workouts from Crossfit to Bikram yoga and everything in between. I'm accustomed to kick-ass workouts that leave you tired and laying on the ground trying to catch your breath. Pure Barre is my absolute favorite. It works all the right muscles and really tones the body. I do add a quick cardio workout after class to round it off but I've seen such a change in my body even after a month of classes. I went in thinking it would be easy and it was a hardcore class! Definitely challenging. I've done several classes without the Pure Barre grip socks and I slip like crazy on the carpet. My butt is sore as I write this, thanks to Pure Barre. I've been going to Pure Barre on and off since 2015 - in the past 6 months, I've gotten serious about it. I used to run a LOT, but after 2 hip surgeries before age 25, my doctor recommended I not tempt fate and find something low impact. Enter Pure Barre - I now go 4-5 times a week and I'm in the best shape of my life (and that includes when I ran marathons). Every class follows the same format - first arms, thighs, "seat", and finally abs/core (with a 90 second plank near the beginning of every single class). Oh yeah. The teachers are all so good and friendly! I've got seriously wacky/messed up hips, and they've helped me come up with modifications to the exercises so I don't further destroy them. Pure Barre is not my only workout - they're still trying to figure out their story about cardio. As an ex-runner, I don't find their EmPower "cardio" class really spikes my heart rate as much as I want it to, so I look elsewhere for cardio. I wish they had more evening classes and weekend afternoons at the Redmond location, but they do have enough classes that I can plan my week around it. read more

I'm so disappointed by their customer service. I decided to try a few classes after spending a year rehabbing an injury. The sign-up process was strangely cumbersome - the desk staff had to verbally walk through the options, with no price sheet I could look at or ability for me to buy classes online myself. I was very vocal about wanting to try out a few classes before committing due to my injury, then was ready to go. I tried a few classes but unfortunately the workout reinflamed my injury - total bummer, but hopefully my 8-pack is good for a year so I can try again later, right? Nope. Somehow, instead of buying an 8-class pack, I was signed up for a recurring monthly package. I first called then emailed to resolve the situation. The staff was defensive and unhelpful, and completely focused on proving why I must be wrong. So, not only do I not have 5-6 classes left from an 8-pack to use later, I was charged $150+ in both Sep and Oct for a membership I never wanted or used. The instructors I encountered here were great, but Im beyond disappointed by the owners/management. I've rarely encountered a business so totally focused on blaming customers for mistakes, and unwilling to find a way to make things right. read more

I hate all types of exercise, with the exception of running. I used to run when I lived in AZ, but I find it too challenging to run in WA due to the weather. I was on the hunt for something else I could do instead, because while I hate exercise, I understand its importance. I decided to try barre. The owner and all of the instructors are kind, helpful, and always maintain their energy. If there was a day they didn't want to be there, I would never know, because they are all enthusiastic and excited to be there. They make an effort to get to know everyone, which is not something I experienced when I did Orange Theory. Honestly, you go for the exercise, but stay for the community. I am upgrading my previous review to give the Redmond studio FIVE STARS, because just like their socks, Pure Barre Redmond "STICKS"!!! Star #1. The staff STICKS with you every step of the way. You never feel like you can't keep up, or that you aren't doing something right, because there is a smiling face with a muted microphone right there to assist you any time you need them. The rest of the class never misses a beat while you get that little help tucking, pulsing, or with a modification you may need, so that you can get the same workout as the others without injury to yourself. Star #2. The music STICKS with you. Every class has a new mix of tunes that just makes your body want to move! There is really something for everyone to jam to while in class. Kudos to whoever put the mixes together. Star #3. The Pure Barre movements STICK with you. It is not uncommon to find yourself "tucking" long after your workout has ended. Whether while in the car or doing the dishes, you find you just can't help yourself. Throughout the day, I tend to remind myself to stand tall, relax my shoulders, or soften my stance. I am new to barre, and after having gone through a few round of injuries in the last two years from a concussion to finger breaks, to back injuries, barre looked like a low impact way to continue my wellness journey. And I am so thankful to Pure Barre Redmond. They made getting into this sport and yes I want to call it that (it requires work and dedication, and it will make you an athlete if you stick to it) so seamless. The instructors are great at explaining everything and create such a welcome environment. They will take extra time with new comers to walk them through all the moves and the tools we use. They're always available for questions before and after class and provide the guidance you need at your fitness level and help you level up. I want to give a special shout out during covid. While so many gyms and fitness businesses have had to temporarily close during covid due to one reason or another, with their high standard of cleanliness and precautions, Pure Barre Redmond has continued to stand strong. There commitment and energy is so commendable. I was a member of another barre studio for years. They closed as as a result of Covid and not getting any government money to support them. I Joined Pure Barre thinking it was comparable. It wasn't. The first thing I noticed was that I was at leas 30 years older than the majority of participants. The other thing I noticed was that compared to the barre studio I went to before, they were not Interested and helping me with any modifications to prevent injury. I look forward to going to my Pure Barre class - even at 6:00am, and I'm not a morning person! The instructions are energetic, extremely helpful and encouraging, and provide detailed instruction for each move so you can best work out your body! I can feel my body changing throughout the workouts and the rest of the day. Although it is high intensity, the 55-60 minutes seem to fly by due to the upbeat music, instructor's positive attitude, and the ability to notice your body changing as you are working out. The studio is clean, presentable, and welcoming. There are easy to use lockers provided as well as two well managed bathrooms. The employees at the counter are very informational. The BEST fitness studio experience I've had was at this location owned by Lizelle. When I started coming here I was a complete beginner to barre, but with the help of the instructors and the owner I made a lot of progress and started seeing results in a few months! I've been going to Pure Barre for several months now. I love the workout and most of the instructors the only reason it doesn't get five stars is because of two things: the facility especially lately has been so hot! I personally prefer to workout in a cooler environment and my friend stopped going because she couldn't stand the heat being cranked up so high and because the parking can be a bit of a nightmare when it's busy. It's definitely not their fault but if you can find parking the spaces in those garages were done really poorly and I can't count the number of times I had to squeeze in through a passenger side door and over the console to get to my drivers seat because they are packed so tightly. Other than those two things it's great! I have fibromyalgia and other limitations and the instructors have been really helpful when I speak up and ask for a modification in certain exercises. My first instructor was Hannah and she was very kind to me after learning about my fibro she made sure I felt comfortable while still getting a great workout! I have been attending Pure Barre on and off for 4 years now and to be honest it is very hard for me to get into a good workout regimen. I have tried so many different studios and workout routines and somehow I always go back to Pure Barre for a full body workout. If you are looking to strengthen and tone, this is truly the best workout! I try my best to go at least 3-4 times a week but seriously after one class you can see results. The very first time I took Pure Barre was back in 2015 and I fell in love, I went almost every day for a month and the results were insane! I love that 4 years later they have incorporated so much more into their classes by adding Reform and Empower classes as well as more workshops and itensives. I know it can be intimidating walking into a new workout studio, I am guilty of feeling that way but for new PB students you have nothing to worry about because the instructors are so amazing, encouraging, and helpful!
