Since their website address leads to a broken link I reached out on facebook messenger. I used one of Facebooks canned responses to ask 'Do you have any promotions?' and the response was 'Never. I find that kind of model disgusting'. Didn't know asking if they have a promos was such a negative question and I asked them to elaborate, but have not gotten a response. Wow, my abs have not been this sore in a while! I had heard about Knotty Yoga through the aerial…read moregrapevine and decided to give it a chance when one of Meetup groups planned a meetup here. I took the intro class that was specially priced at $19. For an hour and a half, it was an incredible deal that I could not pass up...and it was more than worth it! There were about 18+ people in the class and we started with a warm up on the silks. Afterwards, we watched Mason and 2 other instructors demo on the rope, silks, and lyra respectively. We then learned a few things on the silks and did a quick stretch of the upper body. The verdict? The warmup is NOT a beginner warmup. There's lots of balancing of the upper body on the arms or forearms while the legs are held up by the silk apparatus. As the body is balancing, it is moving forwards, backwards, and twisting side to side. For me, the warmup was great and challenging, but I could see it being difficult for a beginner. Vivian was the instructor on the silks. I found her explanations and demonstrations thorough as I had previously learned one of the tricks at another studio but had not understood it fully until Vivian explained it another way. We were learning how to climb the silks and even though there was heavy emphasis on the use of the legs, I didn't hear any guidance about relieving any tightness in the forearms or the hands during the instruction. And in the cool down/stretching, there was no focus on these parts of the body at all. For the cool down, we paired up and all we did was twist the upper body while pulling on each others arms. Time was up but I wished that there would have been more time for more thorough stretching. Now I realize that there were a lot of people in the class and it was an intro class so I am probably calling out personal particulars, but I was really impressed with the overall vibe of the studio. I like their whole hybrid exercise modality idea. The instruction was awesome. The studio is a great space and I am especially looking forward to taking future classes in trapeze and lyra. I used to take classes here when I lived in Redmond and go less now that I am a little further…read moreaway. I recently went for a soundbath and it was amazing! The front desk area is welcoming and warm. I was greeted kindly and check-in was super simple. The space is so relaxing, open, and just has a great energy. They were also able to do a very soft lighting to keep the mood calm but also make it easy if people needed to see. Parking was also pretty easy. Two small things to note. First is that they do not have any props to borrow. I forgot a pillow and ended up just rolling up my sweatshirt. Totally fine, just something to note- definitely make sure you bring what you need. Second- the bathroom is connected to the studio in a way that you can hear people using it during practice. This is a little annoying and awkward for the person going, but I understand there is not a good way to remedy this.

They have a strong focus on safety before, after and during classes as well as a solid process for insuring that drop-in visitors have a great experience. I had some hard rolls and some very technical instruction as well. The review of the facility is for the 3-7 year old class: We signed our 3 y/o son up for the 3-7 year old class and did so without a trial session - during our visit of the facility and explanation of the class, we were resolved to have our son start and thought T3MA would be the perfect environment- We paid for the 1st month and GI upfront (+$400 in total fees) The front staff said that the instructor would introduce themselves to our son to soften nerves. Most of the students are closer to 7 than 3, and the class is definitely geared that way as well. Not only did the instructor not introduce themselves (any of them), within a couple minutes of the class starting, there was an immediate frustration that he would take some extra attention relative to the 6 and 7 year olds, and one of the instructors came over and said "If he doesn't start to participate on his own in the next couple minutes, we're going to ask him to sit on the side. We cannot give him special attention over the other students". Large contrast to what was explained. In hindsight we should have done the trial, but the explanation of this class for our 3 y/o son was much more considerate of his age. I'll forever have an image of my son sitting in a line prior to class and saying to me "dad, I'm so nervous", which is frustrating because they did nothing to alleviate that and made it worse as they were agitated that he needed extra attention. We gut check that experience, we then did a trial at a different national chain BJJ facility in Bellevue and had a night and day experience. The instructor spent a couple minutes with my son prior to, introducing himself, making jokes with him and becoming familiar to each other. The class itself was geared for 3-4 year olds and not 5-7 - there was an expectation that 3 and 4 year olds have limited attention spans and it catered to it. Much better for what we were looking for. Now the management piece - I then asked T3MA if they could treat my 1 and only class as a "free trial" - as they do offer and refund the month we paid for and at least a partial refund of the GI we paid for, since it is specific to T3MA and cannot be used anywhere else. I was told in email essentially "we offer a free trial, you should have done that first" - following by no response for 7 days upon protest, including not answer and returning phone calls and several email follow-ups, for again them to say "you had the option of a free class and didn't take it, tough luck". I was surprised by the class experience because it didn't match what was relayed, but I was very surprised by that response and unwillingness to refund any of the $400+ that I was out for my sons single class. Hope this helps families avoid a similar mistake - If you're considering T3MA, definitely do a trial, and more importantly, trial other facilities other than T3MA so you can benchmark the atmosphere and class prior to committing to T3MA.

SOLIDCORE @ TOTEM LAKE KIRKLAND…read more Parking is available in the Village at Totem Lake. You can park near Lululemon or Joe's Burgers, and there's usually plenty of open spots. You can also find street parking right outside of solidcore. Everything is first-come, first-serve, and all parking is free. If you're doing street parking, it's limited to two hours. This was my first time trying solidcore, and I signed up through ClassPass. Booking a class was a little challenging since most sessions were already full, but you can set reminders to be notified if a spot opens up. I honestly relied on this because a lot of people tend to drop last minute. Today, I took the Starter 50 class, which is designed for beginners, and I had Coach Helen. One thing to note is that you can't enter the building until 10 minutes before your class. I believe this is for safety purposes, so I'd recommend timing your arrival accordingly. Once inside, the space is a bit smaller than I expected. They have lockers, bathrooms, and a changing area. I didn't notice any showers, so I'm not entirely sure if they offer them. There's only one studio, and classes happen one at a time. When I walked in, there were already quite a few people in the room. Coach Helen was super nice and very talkative throughout the workout, which I actually appreciated. She explained each exercise clearly, making it simple and easy to follow along. Overall, it was a great first experience, and I'm really excited to continue trying solidcore with other coaches this week!
