I used to take classes here when I lived in Redmond and go less now that I am a little further away. I recently went for a soundbath and it was amazing! The front desk area is welcoming and warm. I was greeted kindly and check-in was super simple. The space is so relaxing, open, and just has a great energy. They were also able to do a very soft lighting to keep the mood calm but also make it easy if people needed to see. Parking was also pretty easy. Two small things to note. First is that they do not have any props to borrow. I forgot a pillow and ended up just rolling up my sweatshirt. Totally fine, just something to note- definitely make sure you bring what you need. Second- the bathroom is connected to the studio in a way that you can hear people using it during practice. This is a little annoying and awkward for the person going, but I understand there is not a good way to remedy this. read more

I took a free class yesterday as part of a local women's group and Sarah (the owner) was our instructor. She was super welcoming and made yoga seem very approachable. Nice vibes in the studio overall. It's in a busy area near a QFC, but tucked into one corner so it feels very private. I love this studio. At first, I wasn't impressed since it's not your regular fancy yoga place that you would expect to see in Redmond and Bellevue. However, after my second class I fell in love with the atmosphere and classes. All of the teachers I've met there so far have shown their care, passion and dedication to their students success. And by "success" I mean learning to love yourself and being at peace with where you are. It's a beautiful experience! I also love their Bingo program that motivates you to keep coming and gives you a chance to win free classes! Lastly, they have some amazing workshops that are budget-friendly! I do wish they had a better changing rooms situation and upgraded bathrooms but I can see how in a small space like this it would be hard to achieve. Tracy is wonderful! She is really knowledgeable and open about the needs of pre and postnatal bodies. I have issues with my back and diastasis recti and in my private sessions with her, she created a custom routine for me to do at home. The studio is also very much involved in the community and foster a very welcoming and no judgement culture. My little one also loves the kid yoga sessions. Whenever I can, I try to go when they open it up to parents to be able to join. read more

I had a pretty difficult time finding pre-natal yoga classes that offered multiple classes at convenient times in the Eastside. Discover Yoga offers 4 a week! The prices are reasonable, the instructors are sincere and likeable, and the classes are small (4-8 in my experience so far). Mostly importantly, unlike another Yoga studio I tried, the instructors here don't make you go "ommmm" 3 times or make you share one thing you are thankful for with the class or say things like "look into the wisdom of your heart and let your inner light shine through"! read more

Friendly staff, nice studio, (and not warm or hot!)- an easy place to feel welcome and comfortable. Instructor checks in about any injuries before class starts to offer adaptations, and customizes the practice to accommodate requests. I like the circle formation of students around a lotus candle (instead of lined up in a grid facing the instructor). Viniyoga has always been my favorite: Yoga for Every Body, and movement paired with the breath. It can be as challenging or nurturing as you need. Have only tried one class, but was pleased with it enough to wonder why this place has not been reviewed. Wish the floors were not carpet and that the studio wasn't so close to the music classes down the hall. Other than that, the instructor seems good and the cost of the classes reasonable. Thank goodness they have more than one prenatal yoga class per week. I remember how tough it is to find one that fits your schedule and with the instructor that feels right for you. Came here for prenatal yoga and prenatal couples workshop. The prenatal yoga was awesome! Great for any skill level. They have everything you need to do the class there so you don't need to bring anything with you. You start the class by each saying your name, how many weeks along you are and how you're doing that week. I typically get anxious with this sort of thing but felt quite comfortable in this space. It was cool to hear about each other's pregnancies and what everyone was going through. It made me feel less alone. Tracy is a great instructor. She also did the prenatal couples workshop. We really enjoyed this too. Something nice to do together to prepare for labor and delivery as a couple. Would definitely recommend going. read more

This is the best studio ever! The prenatal yoga really helped me with my pregnancy especially when I had to stop playing tennis. I'm not sure how I would have managed without this studio for all those months. All of the teachers are great, and so welcoming. I've been practicing yoga for 10+ years, in many different states, in many different styles. I started at Discover Yoga when I was pregnant (with twins) and instantly knew this was the studio I would continue my practice after the babies were born! I love the Viniyoga philosophy of beginning where you are. It takes the pressure off needing to look a certain way and lets you really experience the benefits of a yoga practice! The teachers are very nurturing and make you feel welcome right away! They check in with you to see what you need out of your practice.They are skilled in adapting poses to you! I found Discover Yoga a year and a half ago and like it so much that I now go two or three times a week. I needed a yoga that was very inclusive of all abilities, not too fast-paced, because then I tend to overdo it and then get chronic strains and sprains. I always feel comfortable modifying what I need to modify, yet still have advanced a lot in my flexibility and abilities. The focus at Discover Yoga is on spine, breath, awareness of your own needs, and exploration. It's the kind of yoga more people should try if they are just starting out, or if they do plenty of athletic things in the rest of their life and need a "counterbalance" activity that will stretch and relax them. read more

Loved it! I have been looking for a gentle yoga class forever. The 9:30 am class with Alison (owner) is just what the dr. ordered. The class sits in a circle and checks in with a one word answer to what do you want to work on today. Alison addresses each person by their first name around the circle. This bonds the class and helps people connect vs. just coming and going to a class. The class also does a check out, going around the room, addressed by first name, and says in a word how they feel. It again, connects the class - which is spiritually healing. The warmth of the room is just right. Not to hot - not too cold - just right. What I really like, is that everyone has access to a blanket they can use for their knees, as a pillow, or to put over them during the end meditation. Yeah! I need all three reasons! We used tennis balls for foot massage, straps for stretching, blocks and pillows were available AND lavendar eye bags - to again make the end meditation even more delightful. The yoga moves were just right. Slow and sure - I'm a beginner, and always got frustrated in the other classes that were "all levels" as I couldn't keep up, and didn't like feeling like an idiot (LOL). At this class, I fit right in and can grow into more advance yoga later - or maybe just stay in this wonderful class forever! Great location, right downtown Redmond by Soul Food books and the Samammish River Trail. Can relax in the book shop/coffee shop or go for a walk after my yoga. There is something for everyone - expectant mothers, seniors, professionals from all walks of life, family members including children & teens. The membership is diverse from all cultures & countries. My favorite yoga place by far! I've been going here for almost four years now, taking everything from prenatal yoga (through two babies!) to their regular Level 1/2 classes as well as some of their workshops, and almost everything has been fantastic. Most of the instructors are very good at assessing where each person is and adapting the class style accordingly, as well as providing alternatives (both harder and easier) for those who wish. Their classes are very accepting and welcoming of everybody and anybody, regardless of yoga experience, body type or physical capabilities. My only minor complaint is that the instructors can vary quite a bit. My favorites so far are Tracy, Alison & Beth! read more
