I am way overdue for reviewing Hotworx-Pearland…read more This is my regular/daily workout since Cyclebar Pearland closed. Infrared Heat Benefits At first I was resistant to the hot sauna aspect of the workout since you already get hot during a workout and I'm already a sweaty lady but now I absolutely love the infrared heat! It really does flush out toxins, is great for your skin, reduces/eliminates soreness that can come with a workout, also relieves pain and stress. I always come out of my workouts feeling great! It's perfect after a long days work, to kick off your day or for a midday pick me up. Workout Sessions I love the variety of workouts which makes for great cross training. The workouts are a variety of HIIT/cardio and isometric/floor exercises. Since they're hot (it's recommended the workouts be in the 120 degree range for optimal effectiveness), the HIIT workout sessions (cycle, blast/elliptical-ish bike, rowing) are only 15 minutes long and they are a little more challenging than a longer workout since they're shorter. The iso's (yoga, stretch, Pilates, core, bands, Barre, buns) are 45 min . I typically do a 45min - 1.5 hr workout combo of the different sessions or a quick 30 min if I'm low on time or energy. The saunas There are about 7 different hot sauna rooms that play on demand virtually instructed videos that run every 15 minutes (HIIT workouts) and every 45 minutes (Isometric workouts). Supplies You're given a mat and towel with your membership, that are specifically designed for the hot sauna and it is the only mat that will work with the saunas' heat. Cost Hotworx is very reasonably priced at $59/mo for one studio location or $79/mo to workout at all Hotworx location, which is nice bc they have locations EVERYWHERE so it is a great way to keep up with your workout if you go out of town. You also get a month free, if you get to 25,000 calories burned within a 3 month period which is tracked through their app.Its very easy to rack up 25,000 if you're going regularly. Booking thru the app You reserve your workouts through the app, which is nice bc you can see if anyone else has also booked a sauna during a particular time. Although, you're welcome to use a sauna without booking if a spot is available. Each sauna holds 3 people. Staff The staff is great and super friendly. I love that they always run to open the front door for everyone. It's especially helpful when I'm struggling, trying to hold my mat, water, towel etc. Side note, you have to use the Hotworx app to buzz yourself in at the entrance. So if you don't have a membership, you can't get into Hotworx outside of regular business hours. Cancelling The only negative about Hotworx is it's one of those places where you have to provide a 30-day written notice to cancel. Luckily for me I don't have any plans to cancel anytime soon.

I saw an ad online for a free workout. I shared my info and received a text and email to complete registration for the free workout. Nothing major- just my name, contact info and the type of workout I wanted to do for my session. I decided to do a full body workout which was called the Hot Iso. What's unique about these workouts is that they all occur in an infrared sauna. Each pod has space for three people. As a first timer, however, I was given the space to myself. A few things to keep in mind-no shoes in the saunas, you are to wipe your mat down upon finishing the workout, you can control the temp and volume of the workout which is lead by a virtual trainer and the workouts are only 30 minutes! The sauna and the workouts are suppose to provide optimum benefits with less time working out. That is a win. I also liked that the workout provides 3 ways the modify each exercise led by the instructor. However, I could see during peak times when you may have to share space that maybe there's someone who desires a less than hot sauna or maybe needs the volume louder during the workout. Could be problematic...but as my guide shared, non peak times will give you the most space and choices to workout. You may also decide you want to try out several different workouts during your visit. That's fine. Just as long as you sign up for the class. People can sign up for classes up until the last minute before the class starts, so just be aware. You may be wondering how this place compares to a typical gym. They actually have a free weight area that also have virtual trainers to lead random exercises with you. A stretch area is also included in the small space. Two restroooms are apart of the gym. One with a shower in fact, but you'd have to use the restroom as the dressing room because this space only has cubbies and small lockers for possessions. That maybe a deal breaker for someone who would come workout before work and runs the risk of several people needing to shower after working out. Most likely, most do not and probably live close to this location, thus running home to get a shower and dress for work. What is great is the 24 hour access to the gym Guests of members can only come inside when staff are present. This particular aspect reminds me when I use to be a member of Snap Fitness. My swipe card allowed me access anytime of tthe day but certain violations would cause penalties or cancelation of membership. I'm sure this place is monitored closely but the distance for me was too great for me to become a member. However, for anyone right in the neighborhood looking to try something new, HOTWORXS is worth a try!

The instructors are well-versed in each of their low-impact, workout-exercise forms. I've attended Pilates mat, Mat Lengthen, Signature Barre (combo Pilates & barre & yoga), Define (oooh, baby!), Fly (silks) yoga, Flow (yoga), BB Bliss, BB Burn (ohhhhh, baby, baby!) and many of the 45 min. afternoon classes and 60 min. evening classes. I also took a Salty Yoga in the Salt Revival salt room! The only classes I haven't tried are those crack-of-dawn ones. Sending power to those ladies who workout before I'm awake! I am not, and have never been a ballet dancer. I am three months into classes at BodyBarre, and I can say that I am stronger, more balanced, and feeling better - because I'm moving small and large muscles during these workouts. BodyBarre is for ALL bodies, ALL ages. This is a place that truly welcomes, and encourages everyone. I would recommend anyone thinking of adding a little, or little more, or a lot of cardio to take a few BodyBarre classes at your own pace. For me, it was time to discover that I could do more for my health by adding some cardio in a fun, supportive studio. Locally owned, too! Paige, Samantha, Anita, Megan, Avery, Cassidy, Rani, Leilani, Sarah and Lori - you are incredible, and I'm so glad that you are sharing your passion for health and fitness with us!

I had never been to a real barre class before (just Youtube…read morepilates videos for me), and I had thought that my routine had been sufficient for about four years throughout university. However! In class, the instructor gently adjusts you to have lovely form and proper technique, which really makes a difference in how refreshing my workouts feel afterwards (apparently careless technique when I did pilates on my own sometimes just sort of left me feeling drained after my workouts). Having to pay attention elegant technique makes pilates from more than an isolated sweatfest during the day, and makes it seep into other parts of my life -- i.e. I've started getting compliments on my posture by my mother (the ultimate accomplishment). It's not too difficult for those just beginning -- the instructors seemlessly transition from warmup to sweatbreaking moves to cooldown. On the other hand it's quite quite sufficient for those wanting a good workout, and I've been satisfyingly sore from their classes many a time.

Walking in, I received a friendly greeting by what seemed like the owner or manager. He gave me a quick tour of the new facility, and was helpful in answering any questions. Bliss Boutique Fitness offers multiple yoga, cycling, pilates and aerial yoga classes. Don't be shy if you're a beginner, their classes are great whether you're brand new or highly experienced. For the flow yoga class I attended, I believe Haley was the instructor if I remember her name correctly. Her yoga class flowed together really well, and her instructions were clear without being a distraction from your breath. She was able to provide multiple modifications whether you wanted to keep your practice easy or more advanced. I also appreciated that she had already set out mats, towels, and blocks for us to utilize before the class began. I had brought my own mat, but there's was more convenient since it was already ready for us. As far as the facility goes, it's very clean!! The natural lighting really makes the yoga areas zen, and the cycling room had black out curtains to make the strobe lights and music more fun. Restrooms, changing rooms, hand wash station, cubicle type lockers, and shower are all available to use as well. I came here as a classpass user to try this place out, but because I enjoyed it so much, I honestly might become a member! Hopefully next time I'll get to try their cycling and aerial yoga classes, no experience is needed if you're feeling skeptical. I highly recommend Bliss Boutique Fitness to everyone in the Friendswood area!

Luckily, they were able to quickly get me setup in the system and I was able to attend the class I had shown up for. The first class I selected was the Cardio Express class. As I usually like faster paced workouts, I thought this would be my best bet. The instructor was very welcoming and helped me get setup. The class itself was much harder than I expected but it really was a great workout. I was sore in the days after this class. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great workout.

I was wearing yoga pants and a t-shirt. There was little guidance or monitoring from the instructor, as she stayed in the kitchen area (an old home), which was quite far from some of the reformers. In introductory classes, the instructor should demonstrate breathing techniques and how the form should look. I emailed them, and they called me back to address my issues. The instructor said she did not mean to come across as rude when she asked about my clothing; she thought I was wearing scrubs. She also acknowledged that she should be more evenly focused on the class. In my first class, we started on jump boards, and I did not see enough instruction overall. I appreciate the call, but I do not want to hurt my body by going to a Pilates class that felt unsupervised. The music was great, and I appreciated the aesthetics. If you like more boot camp classes, it feels like that inside.
