They have a sign on the wall when you walk in that lets them know which shoes to put on first. They even have a dressing room for them to change in. We have time to get dressed before getting there but Wren will not have that! she has to get changed in their dressing room. Everything about this place is very inviting and Wren has really blossomed while here. Parents are not allowed in the room while the class is in process. There is a glass on the door so we can see, we just can't go in. The kids tend to do better when no parents are in there. We were allowed in one time so far so see the progress they had made on their routine. Waiting for her class isnt so bad either, they offer free wifi so the older heathen is ok with waiting around for his little sister. They even have a play corner with a ton of toys, so the baby heathen is pretty entertained too.

My husband and I have been taking lessons from Annette Farrell at Smooth Dancer for a couple of…read moreyears. When we started, he had never danced and could not even keep time to music. In the 15 years before our lessons, we never danced together. Now we are at the intermediate level and members of a social dance club. We do 11 dances. We went on a cruise a couple of months after we began lessons and spent all of our nights dancing. We got compliments on our dancing every night, and one lady even asked us to teach her the dance we were doing! Annette really wants you to learn and believes that anyone can. Her saying is "If you can walk, you can dance." Be prepared, though: she is a feisty red-head, and there is no doubt who is in control when you walk into her studio.

The lessons move at a fine pace for me. I learn just enough to be challenged but not overwhelmed. Hubby (also taking the class) and I then take what we learn and practice each day. For us repetition is key. 3. I look forward to going back, and I also enjoy practicing at home and at community events when we can. For the beginner class, you don't need a partner, but if you do have one it's great for spending time together and learning to work together as a team. I am doing the beginner group lesson. Some also do the private lessons and beginner group lesson (practice session) together regularly or on occasion. Honestly, find what satisfies your goals and budget and do you. They may not charge a lot for tickets but be prepared to be amazed at the outstanding talent!…read more It's a small theater set off of NASA Road One that truthfully I never knew was there until a friend was in their production of "Legally Blonde The Musical"; it's super easy to find, but the parking is a little funky as the lot's lines are almost non-existent. It's not real big and it's not real fancy, but who cares? The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room between seats so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of one another like in a movie theater. The sound system and lighting is fantastic! We have some seriously talented people in the Clear Lake area and they all congregate here! They do have a small concession area with drinks and snacks; my bottle of water was $1.00. You can't beat that! They also have BYOB with a teeny $3.00 corkage fee that includes two glasses. They do a lot with a little; the sets aren't super elaborate but they work hard at making them believable and part of the show. Plus, it's okay to use your imagination; you don't have to have everything spelled out for you with CGI. The bathroom is behind a curtain house right, so if you sit house left you will have to cross in front of the stage if you need to use it during the show. Not a huge thing, just be aware. The show was sold out today, and it was delayed a few minutes since they were trying to find seats for the waiting list people. It was fine though, as everyone was in a good mood and ready to enjoy. Buy your tickets online though to make sure you get the seat you want, and get there fairly early. The show today started at 2:30 pm; I got there around 2:00 pm and got a good seat. I can't say enough great things about this place and the people. This is a real hidden gem in this area and if you haven't checked it out you have been missing out! Why travel into Houston when we have such fantastic talent right here in Clear Lake?! Stay local and enjoy all that Clear Creek Community Theater offers!
