In the 15 years before our lessons, we never danced together. Now we are at the intermediate level and members of a social dance club. We do 11 dances. We went on a cruise a couple of months after we began lessons and spent all of our nights dancing. We got compliments on our dancing every night, and one lady even asked us to teach her the dance we were doing! Annette really wants you to learn and believes that anyone can. Her saying is "If you can walk, you can dance." Be prepared, though: she is a feisty red-head, and there is no doubt who is in control when you walk into her studio.

I've gotten several questions about this place lately so in update ... Overall take: 1. Annette, the owner, responded to all initial inquiries quickly, which lead me to check it out and sign up. 2. The lessons move at a fine pace for me. I learn just enough to be challenged but not overwhelmed. Hubby (also taking the class) and I then take what we learn and practice each day. For us repetition is key. 3. I look forward to going back, and I also enjoy practicing at home and at community events when we can. For the beginner class, you don't need a partner, but if you do have one it's great for spending time together and learning to work together as a team. I am doing the beginner group lesson. Some also do the private lessons and beginner group lesson (practice session) together regularly or on occasion. Honestly, find what satisfies your goals and budget and do you. My friend invited me to take a barre class at M2F Studio a few months back. One of our favorite…read moreinstructors from a different gym teaches the class, so I was eager to try it out. The studio was a little difficult to find, but they do have a map on the website that shows where the business is located within the shopping center. It is not visible from 518 and is kind of tucked away in a back corner of the property. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. I stood at the desk for a couple of minutes before finally walking into a random studio to find someone who could check me in. I had to fill out a waiver form. The walk in rate is $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other studios. The class used a variety of equipment (chair, mat, bender ball, resistance bands, and light hand weights). The other class participants were so friendly and showed me where to get all of the equipment. I love barre, but I was disappointed that the studio didn't have actual barres (mounted or portable). The class was good and I was sore the next day, so I got a good work out. It would have been helpful if the instructor had a mic because it was a little difficult to hear her. When we were doing core work on the mat, there were huge dust bunnies on the floor. Dust sometimes triggers my allergies and asthma, but luckily it didn't during class. My friend mentioned that she has seen dust bunnies on the floor in previous classes so it seems that the floor isn't swept/mopped on a regular basis. This is definitely a more affordable option compared to some of the higher end studios, but you get what you pay for.

It's nice not to disgusting feet after a dance class. They have really good instructors too. They're very knowledgeable and willing to break down a move if you don't understand. I really enjoy it!
