The low impact and exceptional core work is my favorite. I'm new to this side of town and decided to give this place a try. I am highly disappointed. Studio is nice and clean. Pricy but most reformer classes are. Yuan was my instructor and bc of her, I won't be back to try a different class or instructor. It was so bad. I felt like she knew a great deal about Pilates but not fitness or anatomy I'm general. I'm not a Pilates expert by any means, but I do work in fitness and consider myself to be pretty fit. I was so belittled with her passive aggressive comments throughout class. Everything from "you're fit but not Pilates fit" to "this is not for everyone" came out of her mouth. I felt like she thrived on making people feel small around her. I was definitely not the only one uncomfortable. Pilates is for everyone and so is all of fitness. Do yourself a favor and go to Boost Pilates instead.

You had to wait until the billing goes through to book a class but by then you were often on a wait list and didn't get in. Then you would get the next two classes, but then when you go to book the third you would have a problem if it were within a few days of your next billing date. The system would ask you for a credit card. I cancelled my membership because of not liking to get ripped off but of course they had a reason to charge me again since I didn't give them the complete thirty day notice. I would recommend not using them if you don't like to waste your money.

It was following a surgery I had that a surgeon cleared me to return to work after. The "manager" Anne, was apparently offended by my passion to return to work and get the appropriate "board members" the surgical clearance I had, so therefore I should be disallowed from taking classes I literally helped make up? It doesn't make sense to me and I have been asking for months for an explanation bc I loyally and passionately gave Palango hours of my day almost everyday, and often with literally nothing in return (working for free is a whole 'nother story, but not the reason they EARNED a one star review). I could elaborate for ages, but I'm sure you get it. My advice? If you want to fall in love with your workouts, with a community... never ever consider working for these people- they may let you have it. A workout and community you love. But they also may take it away and ban you from even saying goodbye to people you've known almost daily for a decade with no consideration and no explanation. I've been just starting to share and they have been desperately removing my comments and reviews. Ask yourself, why? Why don't they want you to know? Shame on them and YOU ARE WORTH IT. But to have an instructor using profanity to motivate students- was a bit much for me. It was my first time in Kerry's class and I have to say it was a complete turnoff. Yelling at students "F that shit up" and "Let that shit go" can't be apart of the training she received to be an instructor. I am still very shocked that this is acceptable behavior. Judging by looking around the room, others felt the same way. It was terrible-is this what yoga has turn into??

This DTC location is appears to be an addition to their current operation (their Lowery location might be their first one; I might be wrong though). They have a very welcoming atmosphere. Once inside, the reception area is quite roomy. You will immediately remove your shoes there so you can line them up against the window alongside Newport street. Lockers are available for class attendees. Store merchandise are placed mostly in the center of the welcoming area. The actual yoga studio is spacious. Very clean where you absolutely feel safe and comfortable. But most of all, relaxed. Yoga blocks and dumbbells (and other equipment) are in the little room to the right of it if you are facing upfront where the instructor is. If you forget a hand towel, no worries; they have plenty of them upfront for the attendees (free of charge). After your class, they give you a small rolled cold towel so you can refresh yourself; they are like "oshibori" given at a Japanese restaurant upon sitting at your table at the start of your meal (LOL)! Very considerate gesture indeed. I am still a beginner in yoga. Each time I attend a yoga class, I still get intimidated by the idea of it at the beginning but the instructor last night was one of the most helpful and supportive of not just mine but everyone's ability and limitations. I felt at ease as I could simply be myself with what I could do and couldn't do. And the candlelight without any fixed lightings created the most beautiful moment and atmosphere. I thus highly recommend this place.
