I went in for a free class and as soon as I was getting ready to check in the older lady said I could not wear shorts there, mind you I spoke to someone over the phone and no one mentioned that also have been to 2 classes of at pure barre and have never been turned away for wearing shorts that go to my knees as a grown woman no place should be telling me what I can cannot wear to a workout. the energy I received was unacceptable I declined to be rescheduled for another class. read more

Broke a sweat trying to find parking for twenty minutes and then running to make it to a class I wanted to try with my sister. Was late two minutes and wouldn't let me in. I was upset but knew this because when we tried the free class couple days ago they told us that once class started we couldn't go in. But what they didn't tell me is the $20 late fee they would have to charge me. WTH? It's already upsetting that I can't join the class for being 2 minutes late but now I get slapped with fine? My sister was in the area earlier so made it in time. They said they could book another class for me but my thing is I wanted to try it with my sister together. I already paid $35 for the class and not gonna pay more than 50% for a late fee. Guess they want to lose a customer over $35 read more

I got this coupon in the mail for a free first class and decided to try it out. I spent some time looking at the class descriptions and chose "Empower." I showed up this morning and was told that the free class was only for the "Foundations" class... But as you can see below the coupon says nothing about this. Another customer overheard and said she would use the "free class for a friend" coupon for me. But the front desk person said no to that too and offered for me to PAY $25 to go to the class that I showed up for. Needless to say I was very disappointed and had to leave without working out. Bad customer service Update: I ended up trying the "Foundations" class and while the class itself was good, they really put a LOT of pressure on all the newcomers to sign up for a membership. I joined Pure Barre right before everything shut down in 2020, the studio moved to online classes and kept us going and healthy. Fast forward to 2022 and I've almost completed 500 classes! Don't be fooled by the small movements and lighter weights you'll still be sore. There are different formats for your workout needs. The entire community is great, the ladies in class and the instructors. I need the accountability of a workout class to show up and this never disappoints! I came in for my free foundations class and when i got there, they got me checked in and set up. I brought socks that had grip on half the sock but I was told I have to buy their $18 socks to do the class. Honestly should have left when they told me that, kind of ridiculous to charge a whole meal and more for socks when they had carpet. During the class, the instructor Leslie was really nice and walked everyone through the exercises very well. The class was good and utilizes repetitive and small movements however, I didn't think it was an ideal workout type for my fitness routine. However, before the class had officially wrapped up, we were paired with someone to discuss memberships. I told my girl that I wanted to try out other studios before making a decision but she wouldn't let me go without signing me up for something before i left. I was pretty bothered by how pushy it got. Overall, I enjoyed the class but I think the sales tactic was super off putting and it makes me not want to come in again because I do not want to be pressured into signing a membership. read more

I discovered PureBarre a few years ago, when a friend invited me to try it - so glad I did! The workout is a highly efficient way to build strength and gain flexibility. I leave every class exhausted, but feeling like a rock star! The staff here is always welcoming and friendly, and the instructors are super encouraging. Be aware that the parking at busy La Centerra can be a challenge at certain times of day, but if you allow an extra couple minutes to find a spot, it's usually not a problem. I love Pure Barre Katy. I've taken over 1100 classes with these awesome teachers in the last 5 years and never get bored and continue to be challenged. My goals joining Pure Barre Katy were to find a low-impact workout that I could do with my previous knee and foot injuries. PBK gave me modifications to adapt the workouts when I needed them and then as I became stronger every day I could do more without modifications. I genuinely look forward to every workout and still get sore from tough classes. In fact, I'm sore from yesterday's empower class with Tam and still enjoyed getting pushed through a very challenging classic with Leslie today. And then there is the PBK community. Tried to get a quick workout while away for Thanksgiving. Called at 0805 and was excited that they had openings for the 830 class. Hurried over and got there at 825, and was told that we were too late to make the class. Both of us have attended Pure Barre classes in the past in other locations. Since we just found out 15 minutes before, we didnt understand how they could hold us to the requirment that we had to be there 15 minutes before class started... kind of impossible to make it there on time. Wanna a FREE class: I received a free class from Pure Barre Katy (PBK) and was so excited about it. They were willing to allow me to wait to take my free class for over a week since I was going on vacation the day after I got the coupon. They called SEVERAL TIMES to confirm I would be at the class. I was told to try and come 15 mins ahead of time so I could meet the teacher. Class Day: I was running close to start time 6:45pm so I knew I would not be able to meet the teacher. The parking is horrible at this location I called as I was trying to find a parking spot when they answered I asked where I could park, the giggled and said it's too late you needed to be here at 15 till. You cannot come today you will need to come another day when you can be on time. (THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SIGN) I did tell them in the future do not tell us we should TRY to be there early but to tell us "on the first class be here at 6:30" to say TRY infers that it is optional. Class Day take 2: I got there at 6:25! And all that happened was that LITERALLY I met the owner and the teacher. The class was nice Darby was the instructor and she was very sweet and down to earth. She explained all the moves we would be doing and some verbiage that is used in the class. THE PBK Class itself: I really liked the class and its theory of using a muscle till it is fatigues and then stretching it out. You work till you were pouring sweat and it felt great. It is a difficult class and I enjoyed that about it. The SALE: So after class you split up into small groups and take with a few other class mates and a PBK Employee. They tell you about a few single class prices, what different classes they offer and 2 "special" packages they offer. The prices were a bit high but I was willing to try. As I got up I heard a lady say "I am doing the 3 for $30" I stopped and asked about it bcs I was not told about that and it was NO WHERE on the paperwork. I did not appreciate the fact this was not shared with all the class. (THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SIGN) Contract: I signed a 3 mo. Contract (on 8/3/19) bcs it was a month to month contract. At a rate of 25% less than the normal rate Life Happened: Well fortunately/ unfortunately I earned a promotion the same week I signed up with this promotion I have little flexibility with my schedule and I am not able to make evening classes. When I reached out to the PBK location (on 8/15/19) explaining this and asking if I could pay the difference of the special and normal rate and cancel the last 2 mos. I received an email back saying "Hi Melissa, We are happy that after completing the 3 for $30 you decided were able to review the different options and membership options we provide and decided to join our Pure Start Membership under our Re-Grand Opening Special with 25% OFF the 1st 3 months" Blah blah blah and we are going to adhere to the 3 month contract..... THIS WAS MY SIGN that Pure Barre Katy has a lack to work with individuals when "life" happens to them, showing that clearly money, not a person's health as they state in introductory classes, is the number one focus thus making them no different from other business. And to think this is a MONTH TO MONTH "contract" Cons: They call way to many times to set up 1st free class The place is small Parking is horrendous Packages are not dynamic enough to pay such a high price Any class you sign up for you are charged $20 auto deducted from the card on file Obviously there is NO SUCH thing as a MONTH TO MONTH with them Pros: Darby is amazing as an instructor The other classes are great and a high difficulty level read more

Pure Barre Katy has changed my life! After being cooped up for almost 2 years due to COVID, I decided to branch out and take my first Foundations Class in Sept 2021! It was a great introduction class to get you familiar with the technique that is Pure Barre. PB is high intensity, low impact and great for everyone. As someone who didn't actively work out for 10 years, it took about 3 classes to get comfortable. I fell in love with the technique and I truly look forward to attending class. Not only is it a killer workout EVERY TIME, but it's also a good mental break from my corporate day job. They just had their grand re-opening weekend and the studio is beautiful! I would be sure to arrive about 15 min early to ensure you can find parking. There are certain times of the day that you will not be able to find parking right in front of the studio. There is two parking lot structures near- next to the Alamo Drafthouse & near Trader Joe's. read more

I was excited to try out this class since I heard many good things about it. I booked my class for 12:15 and was told to come 20min early to get a feel of the class, equipment and to sign forms.(she should've said you HAVE to be here 20min before class) Fast forward to the day of the class and it's 12:05 I'm at the location looking for parking everywhere it's horrendous trying to find a parking at this location!! Finally found a parking at 12:10 and started running towards the studio and I get a phone call from them. I answered saying I'm literally about to walk in to the studio and she tells me I can't attend the class since I was suppose to make it 20min before class and blah blah! I was so angry that I just hung up on them and turned back to my car. They need to be a lot clearer on this. If she would've told me from the beginning stating "IF YOU DO NOT MAKE IT 20min BEFORE CLASS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS!" I thought it wasn't that big of a deal it could be worked out if I make it around the class time! She didn't even try to work it out with me or "satisfy the customer" when I told her I was about to walk in to the studio she just said "you can't come to class" Their customer service sucks!!!! read more

Pure Barre Katy has changed my perspective on working out. It is an effective workout that is kind to my joints. I always thought a workout needed to be high impact to be effective. However, I realized that although it is a low impact workout, it will still change my body, make me stonger & a better runner. They do a great job of preparing you before you take your first class on what to expect. I like that they took a few minutes before class to give me a rundown of what would be taking place in class. The other unexpected benefit is the wonderful community PBK creates. From the instructors to the other women in class, everyone is very encouraging. I joined this studio when it first opened & immediately canceled my gym membership, because I was hooked.
