She knows how to work with kids and is perfect for the job I don't believe everyone is fit to work with Kids, but Karina talks to My Son and is very patient with him and made me very comfortable dropping My Son off! Life time is extremely pricey, but you get what you pay for, such as a spa, cafe, cold plunge, rock climbing wall, and pickleball court. I appreciated how group class reservations had to be reserved in advance. My favorite classes were kickboxing with Melissa, Pilates with Amel and Davina, and yoga with Lauren. read more

This is s review of the Life Spa Hair Salon at Cinco Ranch. Worst .Haircut.of.my.life. Do not use!!!! What happened: First visit : I went in for a bang cut . Terrible - two more visits to attempt to blend has turned my one level bob into 5 different looking cuts on my head - clumpy, uneven, etc. I can go on re: her unprofessional forgetfulness of what I had told her and the pictures I had shown her . Really unbelievable. It's now been 2weeks and it hasn't gotten better or grown in to blend the bad layering is more apparent. I did not think that a professional cut could be so bad . And I had to pay the $90+ fee. Save yourself the money, disapointment and depression. It is going to be months before I can do anything with my hair. Stay away. read more

I got to come here for the first time as my friend invited me here for pickle ball! I've never played pickle ball neither but I had a really fun and nice time there! The facility is nice and big and have many awesome amenities like swimming pools, gyms, work out/stretching space, rock climbing, basketball and pickle ball space! So much varieties and probably I didn't mention everything anyways There's a nice little cafe in the facility so you can grab something if you are hungry! I'd love to visit again! My first time here and the gym/club is massive. Lots of parking and check-in was easy. Didn't care the steam inside the lady's locker room as the scent from the steam was too pungent. It's a combination of eucalyptus and something like pinesol. Wish the steam button is inside the room with a timer, so no one needs to keep pressing that. Good hot tub and it will be beneficial to list the water temperature. Dry sauna was not hot at all... Came for a swim/sauna and got what I needed. Didn't interact with anyone. Towels/shaving cream/Q-tips are provided. Membership is very steep! read more

WHY IS IT SO DIRTY?? For $200 a month you would think it would be cleaner. The women's locker rooms are always dirty. Family is even worse. Idk abt the men I can only imagine. The women's steam room... it's beyond gross and the showers are just nasty. The general indoor pool is also always dirty the floor is so gross. The dry sauna is like always broken? I guess when you only employ teenagers that only fold towels you can't really expect much I guess?? Truly have only ever seen one lady clean and she's a super sweet older lady. The removed the 6am yoga classes for the rest of May. They also onLY offer like 2 or 3 classes of the hot yoga HITT class at like 8am weekdays only stay at home ppl can go to that even tho it's super popular not sure why they don't offer more??? Honestly Not sure what going on. It's like they're pushing Pilates so hard when really the people just want a clean gym and more classes of what WE ALREADY PAY FOR? You might as well pay the extra $20 and go to Green Street if you work downtown!! The hot tub, steam room, cold plunge, and dry. Sauna are all privatized and it's always clean and hardly ever THAT busy. Plus there's not unsupervised teenagers running around at all hours at that location... unfortunately can't say the same about Cinco. Also, the shared male and female sauna is super weird. This is an expensive health club, and their rates keep going up. for that reason, they try to get as many members as possible. And they do not police the behavior of their members. Yesterday, a woman changed her son's dirty diaper in the women's locker room, left it on the bench and walked away. BTW Boys are not supposed to be in the women's locker room - that's what the family locker rooms are for. Kids are upstairs on the weight equipment and in the hot tubs. Also - I get it, there are lot of people from different cultures there and they're used to a higher decibel level of noise as well as less personal space, but they're here now. If you ask someone to keep their noise down or not use an entire bench so that no one else can use it they take it as a personal offense and start screaming about how obnoxious you are. The club doesn't want to get involved because they don't want all these people with money to go elsewhere. But it is getting harder and harder to use this facility. Yes, the women's showers are occasionally dirty but no one takes personal responsibility either. The people who work there are not our personal slaves. I expect them to enforce the rules (i.e. no boys in the women's locker room) but not wait on anyone hand and foot. Not so other members. Clean up your long hair from the shower stalls, throw your towels in the bin. in other words, LifeTime lets in anyone no matter how obnoxious as long as they have money and the rest of us have to put up with it. read more

I totally agree with most people that says it is not worth it. I have been a lifetime member since Maryland 2004 and when I moved here in 2013, was excited to join with my children. Only to find that my membership keeps increasing every time without knowing. I went from paying $175 monthly for me and my 2 kiddos to paying $325 now. I cannot even imagine what I will be paying if hubby joins. They are charging minors $80 and above. I called in and told management that we have been members for long and they should be able to do sth, whoever I spoke to was very dismissive and told me I should even be lucky that if I was new, I will be paying at least $400 for me and my 2 children. EOS just opened on fm 529 Elyson where I leave 5 mins away and highest membership is $49 /month . I have been loyal to Lifetime, I really think at this point it is overrated and considering canceling all our membership. I do not need everything in the gym and there should be tiers of membership like people have mentioned. All my children learnt how to swim there and made it to the swim team, he even worked as a lifeguard at a point in time and hated it so much because he said management was non-chalant about things, act as if they listen but they don't . To have a trainer , you need to have another $80 and above per session so if you are doing 3 times a week that is $240 and this is not part of your membership fee. I am guessing maybe it is only old people and retirees that lifetime wants to be catering too ,that stays all day at the gym. Reduce membership fees is what we need and stop wasting money on building bars or work spaces. A health club or gym is a place you should come to workout and leave not to doing your 9-5 job. Visited Life Time Cinco Ranch and had a great experience. Joined a friend for a quick workout - sign in was easy; they took info from my license and I had to sign a waiver. The Technogym treadmills made my cardio much easier to digest. There was a great selection of weights - those with a soft grip and then the metal holds. In all, great - locker room was clean, with a good locker combination lock (these things are important believe me!) Enjoyed the full-service cafe - ate a bacon egg and cheese on ciabatta bread (it's the ciabatta for me). A little disappointed though that it was pre-cooked/packaged - I question how healthy that is. For $8+ it wasn't bad at all, given the size (And my expectations). Didn't interact much with the staff so no comment there. The main drawback was the lack of sanitizing supplies. After the mats were used, I noticed there wasn't any spray / sanitizing cloth to wipe it down or a different rack to put used mats. So used/clean mats were all together. Also looked around the floor and the dispensers were mostly empty. read more

Overpriced! Trainers have the standard Lifetime training as well as NASM, ACE, etc. Unfortunately, these certifications are obtainable in a few weeks. Tests are often open book resulting in two issues that adversely affect athletes, members. First, expertise, subject matter depth in exercise science is clearly lacking as how much does one learn in a few weeks. Second, the open book approach does not force the student to commit details to memory where it can be recalled and properly applied. Having an academic background in exercise physiology as well as several certifications, I found zero trainers that could answer basic 101 questions: if you took biology in middle or high school, you learned how the body produces energy, the Krebs cycle (ATP to ADP). The key to training is how we improve the efficiency and effectiveness of this energy producing cycle for health, fitness and athletic performance. Sadly, not one trainer could discuss this let alone knew the difference between lactate and lactic acid production. These are basic building blocks, fundamentals as to how the body processes fuel and waste these during triathlons...Sound training improves the body's ability to move lactate to mitochondria where it can be turned into glycogen to fuel the athlete versus turning into lactic acid which degrades performance. Went in this morning early for the first time since the pandemic started. Everything was wonderful. You must wear your mask as you move around the gym , when your actively working out you do not have to wear your mask. Upon check in you have your temp taken, you look at this iPad looking device and it reads your temp. I went into the women's locker room and changed, all amenities are open and social distancing practices are in place. Showers, steam room, pool, seating area and vanity area are all able to used. Lockers are closed off every other one and there is no crowding The pool is open as well as the hot tubs and sauna. Upstairs in the workout room the machines are closed off every other one to promote social distancing, hand wipes and sanitizer are available all over and the facility was spotlessly clean. I went at 6 am and was one of the only guests there yet, it was perfect and I will make that my normal workout time as I had the everything pretty much to my self, WINNING It was great to be back to the gym and lifetime has done a wonderful job read more

I've always liked lifetime, I feel like it's worth the money because all the amenities are great. I had cancelled at the start of the pandemic and decided it was time to start going again. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon. My issue is that to clean the machines I couldn't find sanitizing spray, the towelettes are far away and very few. I did not see hand sanitizer anywhere, so bring your own. I guess I expected them to have better covid protocols. I didn't see one sign about social distancing and only one other person had a mask on. All I can say is: you are on your own at this gym when it comes to staying safe from covid. For someone who works out seriously and just wants a good gym which they do have great equipment they make you pay for all the other stuff that you never even use like a swimming pool and a rock, climbing and all the classes that you don't want they should have different packages Wouldn't be that hard to somehow regulate who's using what especially the rock climbing wall somebody's there monitoring it they would know by your membership by scanning something, but I guess that's too much work and they're greedy so they just wanna charge everyone the same which isn't fair cause I had a membership there for years and I never used anything but the gym And that's when their membership was $100 a month which is still a lot but that's at least halfway reasonable and would do it again for that price but now it's double it's $200 a month for a freaking gym membership. Personally I have never had a bad experience when coming to this location. I have never had to wait for any workout machine seeing as they have so many treadmills, bikes, weight machines, etc... Cleanliness rarely is an issue as I constantly see the staff roaming around and ensuring the facility stays top notch. The indoor and outdoor swimming areas are pretty good with one caveat that I wish they had a deeper deep end for diving and deep water drills. Overall, if you are looking for a top notch gym experience you won't find much better! read more

I enjoy the gym and it's amenities but I've noticed one female worker who has short black/grey hair and is heavy set picks and chooses what kids can go in the locker room with their parents! I've been going for a month without any issues but today I was told my 2 year old Son couldn't come in the locker room with me to be able to grab my belongings.... So am I suppose to leave him outside by himself? Luckily my mother was with me so she stayed outside but It's not like he was staying in the locker room with my all day but yet as I'm leaving she said nothing to a lady with a bigger boy and little girl walking in the Womens locker room... You can't just pick and choose who can bring their kids in or not- it has to be fair to everyone and be EQUAL so it's either you can't or you can. Simple as that read more

The gym is pretty decent, my main issue was the really predatory cancellation policy i experienced. I had to move to SF for a few months and cancelled by subscription, once when I called them, and once when they called me to confirm. They didn't cancel it and told me i had to come in and sign in form to actually cancel it even when they confirmed that I had canceled. I would have re subscribed when I came back, but they have lost my business forever. the staff was also super unhelpful just said they can't do anything and if i call corporate they would say the same thing. the staff just really didn't give a shit. this was a few years back like 2017 ish. read more

This place is worth every dime I spend! I love my personal trainer, palates instructor, and yoga instructors! The equipment set up and overall cleanliness is above and beyond expectations! ! I have found the exact facility and offerings at the Lifetimes in other states where you have the exact access!! I especially want to shout out to Jose Cruz. PT can be intimidating and he just blew that perception away for me. His experience and knowledge far exceeded my expectations! He knows my goals are for overall fitness and strength improvement but also for lifetime functionality as I age. He is professional but also takes a personal interest in me so he can fine tune ways to make the training sessions specific to achieve improvements in my physical and cognitive well being. There just aren't enough words to describe what a great human Jose is. If you are looking for someone to work with to make you a better you...Jose would be your best choice. This place is extremely crowded almost at all times. The good classes are only offered when stay at home moms are available, not before or after work. I personally do not think it is worth the cost but it's the most convenient/clean gym available to me at this time. Hoping with villa sport opening up they will improve upon their service and become less crowded. Update: I didn't mean improve upon service by adding a beer bar at the entrance; that's a waste of funds for a health club. Massages are not good here. Smoothies are not good either. read more

I love this place, this is the only gym I will go to. I've tried 24, and other gyms.. but this one is by far the CLEANEST and most relaxing. You don't have 1000 people right there sweating over you. It's not loud like 24. I don't lose focus, the machines are not cramped together, and everything is separated in a very fitting fashion. This is one of the worst managed Lifetime. It takes time to get in and toilet is always dirty. The jacuzzi became so hot and it took awhile for them to take actions-- did nothing but tell people who's already there that temp is too hot and may actually burn them. They should have close the section right away! Also, some of the attendants there goes on power tripping and have issues on what u wear on the jacuzzi and spa. I went to the club and spoke with one of the sales people and expressed to him that I needed to go to all the clubs, the Cypress club, the Town & Country club and the Cinco Ranch club. My salesperson told me the membership would be $109.00 a month approximately, and then I would be able to go to all clubs. About two weeks later, I went to the Cypress club they told me that my membership was not good there and I would have to pay more to upgrade to a higher membership. They said that they had upgraded the clubs from Onyx to Onyx Premire and I wasn't allowed Into town and country club or the cypress club without paying more money per month. It was only a short time after the time I bought my membership to the time they told me I couldn't enter those clubs. I feel like they tried to bait and switch me. I went back to talk to the person who sold me the membership and he wasn't there so I spoke to the sales manager and she would not upgrade my membership and she cancelled my membership. I spoke to the sales person on a later day and he agreed that he told me that I could go to all the clubs. They refused to honor their verbal agreements with me. I called the main office and they said they call me back they never did. I called them back and they said there's nothing they would do. They wouldn't even honor what they told me. I ask the salesperson over and over three times in total ( are you sure I can go to all the clubs and he said yes. I said it so many times that the salesperson said yes and also said - why do you keep asking me - i told him it was very important to me that I go to all three clubs. I talked to six people at the clubs and main office and not one of them cared to be true to their word, even when they know what they told me was true. Been coming here for the last 2-3 years on and off now I been coming for the last 5 months consistently everyday and can say tHey are stepping their game up the gym looks a lot better now that's it has been redesigned/remodel to Lifetime Athletic from Lifetime Fitness, they now offer Shampoo & body wash in the Men's locker room as well as shaving cream, shavers & Ear swabs. Now for what really matters; gym equipment seems pretty good taken care of they make sure everything is great and working fine, they are getting the newer Olympic machines which I'm exited about, the gym staff is great and they're always busting their butts, always cleaning the gym and re racking the weights left behind by ya the consumers, I try to thank & greet as much as I can, really good Group of people working here, men's room always has towels ready & Steam room & Sauna always ready to be used. The Cafe is good & convenient, I've never used the saloon but I'm sure it's good. It does have a lot more people coming now so best time to go if you want an empty gym is late night after 10:30pm and on or 6am to 10am the rest of the day it's pretty packed but never to the LA Fitness point where you have to wait for your turn to use a machine. Overall I like this gym the lockers are nice and easy to use and I don't mind spending 2 hours of my day lifting here. read more

I heard about this place through a coworker who just moved out to Katy from Phoenix, and she was so excited about it that it got me curious. She'd been a member at a location in Phoenix and was elated to find out there was a location by her house out here. All she had to do was mention the free yoga and pilates groups, and me and another coworker of ours both signed up. Granted, the higher-end memberships are pricey.. but they're SO worth it! And here's why: First of all, the place is MASSIVE. It looks like a huge mansion, and it's beautifully lit at night. When you walk in, you can tell immediately that this place is different. The front desk staff are friendly and they actually look up at you and smile when you come in. The entire place is decked out in wood and marble, and it looks more like a really really nice hotel. It even SMELLS nice. Seriously. So what does this place have to offer? Well aside from being open 24/7, it's also got group classes from 5:30am until 7:45pm, so just about anyone can make it to a group before or after work. Aside from yoga and pilates, they also have kickboxing and latin dancing groups (and many many others). They have an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool, and both have huge tubular water slides like you'd see at a waterpark. The also have a nail salon! Yes.. a NAIL SALON. In the gymnasium there's 2 basketball courts, a couple racquetball courts/rooms, and a ROCK CLIMBING WALL. I can't wait to try out the rock climbing wall. The locker rooms are awesome - none of that crap where you have to buy your own lock. The steam room is AWESOME, and there's also at least one jacuzzi. In short, if you're looking for a place to work out that's pleasing to all of your senses, this is the place to go. I also don't get that sleazy, uncomfortable vibe when I walk in. I don't feel like anyone else is staring at me, and so far I haven't had a rude experience with any of the other members. :D Definitely worth checking out, in my opinion! Prices keep going up while the quality of services and the overall facility keeps declining. There once was an area dedicated to stretching that is now filled with pilates machines when there is an actual pilates studio. In the same mentioned area are stretching tables that are used by the trainers for paying customers. No, your membership doesn't cover this. Good luck trying to workout in the weight section if there is a small group training currently in session. Often the free weights are no where to be found or being utilized by the same group. Probably the most irritating factor is the usage of a speaker that is cranked up so high you won't be able to listen to your own music. Not sure why music is required at all? Unlike the group fitness classes that requires the members to be in sync and the music helps obtain that goal. At least those classes are in studios and you can't hear their music throughout the gym. Amenities that are useless like the concierge that you can never get ahold of. You leave at message and don't receive a call back. The Cinco Ranch location use to be one of the top locations but now are in dire need of upgrades. It's hard to justify the monthly membership fees! read more

Last week my locker got broken into along with a dozen other lockers. Thankfully they only took cash but I'm still monitoring my credit cards and changed my house locks just in case. I know these things happen but what really ticks me off is that there have been no signs placed by management that there were multiple lockers broken into anywhere in the gym nor have the lockers been fixed. The thieves used a screw driver to force open the lockers and the ones that were damaged are still damaged so will be easier to break into next time. I also left my name with the front desk for the general manger to call me the day that it happened and the very next day. After almost a week, I still have not gotten a call and there still aren't any signs warning members to not leave wallets or valuables in the locker....also the affected lockers are still broken and easier to get into again. Considering I pay over $200 for a family of three membership you would think that a high-end gym would be more responsive to its members or to deterring thefts but when there is no competition in Katy, I guess they really don't care. Thankfully Villa Sport is opening up in a few months and I look forward to not returning Lifetimes calls when we cancel our membership and move to a more responsive gym. read more

I've been a member of this gym for about a year and it's not that bad. They've made several changes and renovations to improve the gym - such as adding additional rooms for cycling and more up to date equipment which is nice. The check in staff are usually very nice and welcoming - I personally haven't had any problems and sure, when you first become a member, the trainers have a tendency to be bit bothersome but it usually dies down fairly quickly. The gym is very family friendly - it does get VERY packed between 4:30-8:00 on weekday evenings, but I'd say that's with most gyms anyway. Their bathrooms are well kept, and fresh, warm towels are provided. They have a lot of weight machines and equipment - treadmills are abundant and there's hardly any problems with the machines not working. I haven't tried eating at their cafe, but they do have a great selection of protein bars, powders, smoothies, and healthy food choices. My son and husband visit the basketball court very often and they've always had a good experience there (when it's not busy, of course). They have two courts - one court is usually used for a full court game and the second court accommodates people who are just shooting around or who are playing half court. The court is well maintained and the floors are usually non slip which is a plus. I'd say the biggest thing is that this facility is quite pricey - I definitely don't think it's worth the price but their basketball court is most welcoming for young individuals unlike other gyms, which is the reason why I come here for my son. The family friendly vibe here is quite strong and it's nice to run into familiar faces (unless it's after my workout because I look like straight sweaty mess!) read more

I love this gym. Honestly it is pricey. About $90. But to ME, I personally do not have many expense and for me this is doable. They always have enough towels available and everything always seems pretty clean. You do have to be aware of when you go, if you go around 5pm-8pm you will hit peak hours, which will be high school and college individuals. If you go around 5am-7am you will hit the older working crowd, people in their 30's-50's. Also if you go in the evening and you want to go swimming you will need to plan accordingly because normally the pool is filled with classes, or parents with kids. A little overwhelming. Like I said, I enjoy, I come here 5-7 days a week. At the end of the day you pay for what you get. read more
