I am going to make it my business to start coming out here more. I have been on a Class Pass kick lately and decided to sign up for the restorative Pilates session. The class was at 7pm which gave me plenty of time to get through traffic and park. On a Thursday evening there was plenty of parking too thankfully. There were a few folks in class and the session was very intimate! Hisako was super welcoming and attentive to my needs as a distance runner and fitness instructor. She gave me a lot of options to work on certain parts of my body that needed TLC! The 45 minute time frame for this class was perfect also! In addition the soothing yoga-ish music was a nice touch for this gentle practice. I LOVE THE PILATES REFORMER and legit feel like this is what I have been missing my whole life. Now that I have the ropes on this piece of equipment I will be utilizing it at my current gym more often! It was nice to stop in and try something not only new to me but beneficial to me as an athlete. I will absolutely be dropping back in on this class when I'm in the area again!

I've tried several places with different styles and Edge is what I've been looking for. It's located in the Bishop Arts District, which is a great community in itself. Depending on when you take a class you can either grab a mornings coffee after, lunch or dinner. The place itself is cold and decorated nicely. Vibrant pops of color give you more energy. I'm a restroom snob and this place has my favorite restroom design! Clean, nicely decorated and fully stocked. It's be nice if they put in some accessories like hair scrunchies and lady products. The trainers are knowledgeable and energetic. I can't recall other names but Amanda kicks my ass every time. I've tried the restorative Pilates late class which is nice because it's basically yoga On a reformer. Expect a slow pace class to stretch and destreza. Personally, I need to move faster so the other classes are more challenging for me. The Arms, Abs and Ass class is my favorite! I feel it two days later. One thing I would like to see incorporated more is additional more challenging options for those who are more advanced. They offer a 2 week unlimited special for new clients. Glad they do because that's about how long it'll take you to decide if it's for you. Great place, give it a try!

My tuition money to going to a great facility if its going towards the MAC!…read more I come here (I try to come here lol) 2-4 times in the week and every time it has yet to disappoint. The equipment is all very new and perfect for the college student! a place to put your books, a TV to watch, music to listen to all while running on a treadmill, or walking up 89 flights of stairs on the stair master! The track is 3 lanes and wide enough for people to walk and run 9 laps for a mile! Me and my roommate try to come as often as possible, and we love the facility here. A lot better than LA fitness or 24 hour fitness. The gym is vast and there are always enough machines to use. They also have rock climbing, billiards, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, ping pong tables, outdoor sand volleyball court and even an indoor and outdoor pool! There is so many fun and creative ways to workout here, and I'm never disappointed. It does get busy at times (as expected) the most busiest times are at the beginning of the semester and around 7ish or so (when everyone gets out of class) even though it's crowded, there is always something to workout on. There is just so much equipment and so much resources. I also took the group classes with my roommate it was $30 for a whole semester of group classes (yoga, piloxing, zumba, hip-hop cardio, total body pump, etc.) We absolutely loved the classes and the teachers of the class were fun and lively. The MAC is also a great place to study! If you're an extrovert (like me), this is a perfect place to study. The booths are nice and spacious, but they are hard to get (because everyone wants one) they also have many tables and TVs and a lot of people which is always fun on my study break when I want to people watch ._. There are also a lot of computers for you to work/study and even print things. UTA was certainly looking out for the best interest of their students when building the MAC. Love it here and always coming back!

If you want to see something point North, let me take off my pants and impress you…read more No lizard was found here. Wires crossed. The North Family YMCA is really nice. The locker rooms are spacious and the people at the front desk are extremely friendly. They did not try to figure out if we were really members, and just let us right in, and we're very concerned about the flooding from the hurricane, and happy to have us there. They need a lot more benches. They only have a couple and it's just not enough so there is often a wait for a bench. They have extra benches upstairs, but the weights only go up to 40lb up there, so a lot of people wanting to lift weights would not even be able to use those benches if the downstairs ones get crowded. The cardio upstairs is pretty good, but they only have two bikes that I could possibly use and they are usually being used. One time I actually had to wait because a gym employee was using one of the bikes. Once he realized I was waiting for the bike he quickly got off it but still it proves that this type of bike should be more plentiful since it's the only thing which seems to always be in use. The men's showers are fine, and the locker room is nice. Parking is good and the facility is located close to the Interstate 30 and very convenient just near the stadium, where you can often hear the stadium screaming I am a stadium whenever you drive to Meerut. I mean near it. Or even when you're not near it to be honest. They have good cables for chest exercises and their other machines are okay. Overall, it earns a four star rating and is a great place. And one North Family that I'd expect to be a big family is the Peter North Family. I mean the guy just had so much coming out of, well, you know. You'd just assume. Anyway.

NEW AND EXISTING MEMBERS BEWARE…read more I've been a YMCA member in this network for 30+ years and have always valued the community -- until my recent experience with a YMCA in this network. I had to relocate for work and asked to end my membership early. While I understood the annual contract, the branch staff treated me as little more than a customer at a cellphone store, rigidly enforcing policy without any empathy or support. When I escalated the issue, leadership responded with a canned policy explanation, completely ignoring how cold and impersonal the interaction felt. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed, and I will be sharing my story publicly and discussing it with current members so they understand how situations like mine are handled. It's not about the money -- it's about the lack of compassion from a place that claims to be community-focused. I can no longer recommend this branch YMCA to anyone.

I had tried out 3 other Gym's similar to G6 before I started at their gym in this area. The other gyms although I enjoyed, didn't feel it had the same professionalism where each trainer really knew their stuff at G6 and it felt like family after getting to know everyone. Results: I ended up putting on 20lbs of muscle while at G6 over a few months getting into the best shape of my life (under 5% Body fat) and it also felt more a like a family atmosphere which meant a lot to me personally. I have also sent several friends there that felt similar. Why G6? I almost went the personal training route but it wasn't in my budget for that level of 1 on 1 which is why I went hunting. At G6, you get to have the coaches for questions/watching your workouts similar to a personal trainer, excellent programming to fit your needs, professionalism, and a great atmosphere with the other individuals you workout with which helps with encouragement. It's worth a shot if your looking to try it out. Hit Justin or Corey at G6 up, they are both down to earth and easy to talk to.
