The instructors and front desk reps are so friendly and took the time to get to know me at the cheer station for the 10 miler event last week and before/after the regular classes. I accidentally left my water bottle at my bike last night, and emailed the team. The owner, Kristin, was an angel and alerted the staff. One of the instructors and the front desk advised me of where the lost and found is and helped me figure out which one it was. Thank you for that because that bottle is expensive, lol I am literally sweating my fat away in these classes. I step on the scale every morning and noticed that I have lost three pounds this week. When I went last year, I lost ten pounds in about three weeks. I also feel "refreshed" and like a brand new person after my classes. After my contract ends with another boutique gym in the area and if I stay in the Cville area (I'm out of the area 5 days a week/12 hours a day for work right now), I will alternate monthly between going here and the other gyms in the area (I like to mix up fitness routines because I get bored easily). Parking is still a little tricky in the evenings, but since I signed up for the early morning classes, it has been a breeze (knocks on wood). I'm not a morning person, so not wanting to go back to sleep after classes taken at this studio is pretty awesome. That's how great the instructors are. Please do not change, Purvelo.

I was in town for one weekend and wanted to try the studio and they kindly offer a complimentary free first class. I came for an early Sunday morning class and was greeted with very kind staff members happy to help or answer questions. The class itself was different than I expected, but still an overall great workout. They are very Soul Cycle like with the combinations of upper body crunches and push ups style dance moves, which was the one draw back for me. I am more into the hardcore HIIT style bike work outs and am not coordinated enough to mix in the crunches and moves along with fast cycling. The instructor, Robyn, was great and very energetic and kept the energy high the entire class. Overall I would come back to this studio to try a different classes and instructors!

My class was with Megan W, who did an amazing job with the class. Since it was a training class, there were only 6 of us, so she was able to give each of us a ton of attention individually to make sure we were doing the moves correctly. This class is done on a Pilates mega former. Instead of trying to move quickly like with other classes, the goal is to move as slowly as possible and really feel the resistance. It's a low impact, high intensity workout that will leave you sore for days in the best way possible. I can't wait for this spot to fully with all the instructors fully trained!

If you're looking for a fitness program, I recommend you avoid [solidcore] and try one of the many other gyms in the area. First and foremost, I could never find a regular coach to work with. The turnover is rapid, with coaches going to other branches or disappearing entirely. Google "buzzfeed solidcore ceo harassment" and you will understand why. The exercise routine itself quickly became repetitive. It was the SAME situations targeting the SAME muscles, again and again, even if the class title was different. Whether it was "leg wrap & chest" or "hamstrings & arm wrap", I found myself doing the same movements. Needless to say, I ended up with an injury. After a dozen classes where I sometimes spent over 20 minutes doing planks, I got an inflamed bursa. [solidcore] then delivered their final insult: I asked to cancel my account, only to be told that there is a 30-day cancelation requirement. I am now suffering from pain, unable to exercise, and [solidcore] will charge my card for around $200 for classes that I cannot attend. Avoid [solidcore]. He is the laziest employee they have. He acts like he is going out of his way to answer a question. All he wants to do is click on membership cards and stand there. I also don't like they allow kids in there. Some are running around screaming on the track and could knock over someone that is in rehab from a stroke. Kids do not belong in there using the equipment and rarely are the parents around. Make a gym for kids if you want them in there, otherwise have them go to the Kid's Zone.

Glad we got a membership here (although generally more expensive than I normally would pay for a gym membership) and I do recommend the family rate since it's the most cost effective. Kind of like a cycling class but on a treadmill, with intervals timed to different songs and a motivating instructor coaching you along the way. The studio is divided into two parts. There's a large area with mats on the ground for yoga and circuit training, and another room with about ten treadmills, half Woodway and half more of your standard design. They have six different classes. Some incorporate more weights and circuit training, some involve yoga, and some are focused simply on running. I was happy they had a 6:00 am class for those that like to get their workout done early! I could see myself becoming a member if I lived in Cville or Richmond where the other studio is. Besides the classes, the group likes to get together outside of the studio. The day I went was Global Running Day and they were reuniting later at a brewery for a run outdoors and some drinks. Formal Complaint Regarding Employee Conduct at Planet Fitness Charlottesville (Wegmans Area)…read more Dear Planet Fitness Customer Service, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the conduct of a front desk employee, CJ, at the Planet Fitness located near Wegmans in Charlottesville, Virginia, on June 29, 2025, at approximately 7:00 AM. During my visit, I was attempting to unfreeze my account. I asked CJ to please hold on for a moment while I pulled up my app to continue the process. Despite this, he repeatedly gave me information I was already aware of, and I again asked him to hold on while I prepared my request. At that point, he began displaying an attitude and became rude. When I asked him to please listen so he could assist me more effectively, he became visibly upset. He then told me to "calm down and relax," even though I had remained calm, cordial, and quiet the entire time. Throughout this interaction, CJ continued to demonstrate extremely disrespectful and condescending behavior. Further, CJ threatened to "evict" me from the gym, claiming he had that authority. This was simply because I was trying to complete my request and asked him to listen to my explanation before proceeding. I find this behavior unacceptable and believe it reflects very poorly on Planet Fitness. As a paying member, I expect respectful and professional customer service. I respectfully request that this matter be investigated and addressed appropriately, and that I receive a response outlining how Planet Fitness intends to handle this situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Chris Barnes I appreciate the quick reply, but if I'm being honest, if the employee is not going to be reprimanded for his behavior, then there's no reason for me to call and further explain the situation. I don't like being told what and how I am feeling like he knows what I'm feeling. I believed that I was coming to planet fitness to better myself, not get disrespected and deal with unnecessary attitude
