The instructors and front desk reps are so friendly and took the time to get to know me at the cheer station for the 10 miler event last week and before/after the regular classes. I accidentally left my water bottle at my bike last night, and emailed the team. The owner, Kristin, was an angel and alerted the staff. One of the instructors and the front desk advised me of where the lost and found is and helped me figure out which one it was. Thank you for that because that bottle is expensive, lol I am literally sweating my fat away in these classes. I step on the scale every morning and noticed that I have lost three pounds this week. When I went last year, I lost ten pounds in about three weeks. I also feel "refreshed" and like a brand new person after my classes. After my contract ends with another boutique gym in the area and if I stay in the Cville area (I'm out of the area 5 days a week/12 hours a day for work right now), I will alternate monthly between going here and the other gyms in the area (I like to mix up fitness routines because I get bored easily). Parking is still a little tricky in the evenings, but since I signed up for the early morning classes, it has been a breeze (knocks on wood). I'm not a morning person, so not wanting to go back to sleep after classes taken at this studio is pretty awesome. That's how great the instructors are. Please do not change, Purvelo.

I was in town for one weekend and wanted to try the studio and they kindly offer a complimentary free first class. I came for an early Sunday morning class and was greeted with very kind staff members happy to help or answer questions. The class itself was different than I expected, but still an overall great workout. They are very Soul Cycle like with the combinations of upper body crunches and push ups style dance moves, which was the one draw back for me. I am more into the hardcore HIIT style bike work outs and am not coordinated enough to mix in the crunches and moves along with fast cycling. The instructor, Robyn, was great and very energetic and kept the energy high the entire class. Overall I would come back to this studio to try a different classes and instructors!

I visited upstairs and did the elliptical, some free weights and a leg press. all worked great. I was disappointed to learn that ACAC as a multi-location workout facility doesn't have a membership tier that is inclusive for temporary/non-residents. it's either, you buy a one-time pass for $25; a three-day one; or a full monthly. nothing in between. Charlottesville itself is known for having a very transient, ever-changing population so this policy doesn't make sense to me. When I was there, some weirdo was on the stairclimber making this god-awful coughing noise about every 10 seconds. look, I know everyone has their workout quirks but spreading your germs around knowingly (in the age of airborne viruses like COVID) is a bad idea. I brought it to the attention of the desk attendant and she did not seem particularly phased by the news. ACAC Downtown is within walking distance of my flat/crashpad so I will go back. but I'm just hoping they either bring back the punch card or institute a program for non-residents to make life a bit easier.

The women's locker room is disgusting, it smells and there is hair all over the floor and on the shower walls and floor. The hot tub is dirty too. The locker room is way over due for an overhaul. The lockers are dirty and don't get cleaned out ever. It doesn't make sense to have kids in the women's locker room either. Have a family area for changing clothes. Also, the pool is always overrun by kids and it's loud. Terrible gym don't waste your time or money.

You can rent shoes for $2 cash, or a little more if you pay with card. Bikes are assigned in advance, but you can change it at front desk. Now onto the class! Studio is dim lit - which is great because you don't really have to worry about anyone but yourself. Music is loud and bumpin'. The instructors are all super friendly as well and give great cues. Rides are rhythm based - so you want to try and stay on beat to maximize the workout! The best is during pushes - the mirrored wall lights up club style! Workout is well balanced with flat roads and hills, there's always a solo song and an arms workout song! I always end up sweat- I mean sparkling after class :) My favorite part of the entire Zoom experience however, is once class is over, there is an absolutely splendid tiny cold wet towel. Let me tell you, after a hard an sweaty workout, this small treat is absolutely godsend. To top it all off, there is a minty touch to the towel - no doubt a product of essential oils. Even though it's a small touch, it is HIGHLY appreciated and really refreshes! Overall, Zoom is a wonderful studio! I go via classpass, but they have student specials! Check it out!

The space was very lovely, spacious and convenient parking wise. All the teachers and students were friendly. As a beginner yogi, I am always wanting feedback on my form, and I appreciated that the instructors would stay after and answer any questions I had and also give me additional feedback. However, my latest experience after the 30 day trial wasn't the best, and I don't think I'll be returning. I attended my first aerial level 2 class, and I felt like a burden the entire time. It appeared that everyone was already well bonded--which was fine, but there wasn't much explanation behind any of the poses, and it was expected that I know poses that were completely foreign coming from level one. This was really discouraging, and I know I have a lot of room for growth in my practice, but I'd rather do it in a space where I feel comfortable with where I am in my practice.
