I came here with a friend via classpass. This place will kick your butt!! Julian was our instructor and she was so friendly, approachable, and such a great instructor. I was in awe of how she was able to work out with us from time to time yet still keep her breath!! The music was a great selection that was able to help me keep on pace. I attended a free Foundations class taught by Renata. She was extremely welcoming upon my arrival and made the workout fun! She started the class by providing an overview of what barre is, exercise benefits, and the different types of classes the studio provides. This was my first attempt at barre and it did not disappoint! I was looking to incorporate a different type of exercise in my weekly routine outside of cardio and strength training on the basis of toning up and focusing on stretching/flexibility. 10/10 would recommend this workout studio. Liberty, the owner, recently acquired the franchise and has been such a ray of sunshine in the studio. ALL of the instructors are knowledgeable and fun! If you ever have a question about form or if you want to be challenged in your workout the instructors at Pure Barre Carlsbad are there for you! My personal favorites were Hadley, Julien, and Grace, but when I say you can not go wrong with a single instructor at this location, I mean it! When I moved out of state and started attending a new Pure Barre location, I was frequently complemented on my "pretty" form, which is all thanks to Pure Barre Carlsbad, where I discovered my love for barre. Loved it so much, that I became a monthly unlimited member. This place is great - usually (as in my case) they give you your first week free. From the first time, I loved it. I love how small controlled movements using your own body weight can cause such a shaking effect in your muscles. If you haven't tried barre, give this place a free* week and I think you'll be sold. Most of the teachers are pretty awesome--good instruction and extremely friendly / inspirational. Some of the other folks doing it for years are so beautiful to watch. They have such strong bodies and are in SUCH control of their muscles - truly inspiring to keep going and get stronger yourself!! read more

I came to a classic class via ClassPass. This studio is very friendly and welcoming. Some barre studios feel intimidating; this one doesn't. Floor of the studio is a special woven mat and equipment was clean and plentiful. Instructor was good, but I could have used more cuing. Speaker system was great so she was easy to hear. Also loved her music selection; it wasn't too intense and I didn't feel like I was in a rave, like some other studios. Lighting is soft, which I like. An hour flew by! I'd definitely come back. Only issue was parking on a Saturday morning. Give yourself a few minutes to park. I had to park at the library and walk over (not that far, but something to know). read more

There is no word to describe how I feel about Pure Barre. Before I join the pure barre Carlsbad, I was a client of the bar method for 10 years. When the owner had to closed the business for some reason, I was terrified and didn't where to go because I had to leave my comfort zone. Eventually, I gave a try to pure barre and I was addicted to it. Because there has variety class to choose from, and the staffs are so friendly and welcoming and supportive. Expensive and inconsistent in class quality, as two instructors provided great classes but others were too light and not challenging even though supposed to be same classes. Limited scheduling. The whole experience is a nightmare. I am being charged recurring for trying to sign up for a free class that wouldn't work. I called for help; back then nobody answered. After my very first class; i realized it was nothing like what I expected. There were 5 people in it and a tone deaf instructor blasting spin class house music at an intolerable level. I wanted to walk out. My ears rang for entire day. I wrote an email to Genevieve abt how terrible my experience was. She pretty much admitted every class would be that loud. I dont know and didn't expect to if continue to be charged over $224 for one terrible obnoxious barre class. I thought barre was ballet adjacent --and more calm. I suggest la pilates. This place repulled money all while knowing my displeasure and will not give me a corporate phone number to escalate. They knew. She canceled me going fwd; but i still am being charged dec. epic amount of disservice given, guard your account do not put your banking info in their app...Just a hassle and disappointing situation, im trapped and fleeced. Hands down my favorite place to work out. I used to look forward to Pure Barre every time I would come home for visits at Christmas, and the first thing I did when I moved back was get a monthly membership. :-) I love how challenging the classes are and how positive and kind the staff and instructors all are. Barre strengthens and changes your body like nothing else and aside from walking a few times a week, gives me all the workout I need. The studio has recently reopened and feels really safe with the extra COVID precautions - small class sizes, digital check in, triple sanitized everything. :-) So so glad to be back in the studio losing my quarantine fluff! read more

My best friend needed to get in some serious working out before leaving for China for the next two years and I took it upon myself to head the search for creative and fun workouts. Serendipitously, Facebook was advertising a week of free barre classes here at Pure Barre in the lovely La Costa area of Carlsbad -funny how it's treated like its own town, when it's really just code for the "ritzy" part of city. This is a REALLY nice studio and the class we attended (at 7pm) was both fun and challenging! My friend and I are both fit, but man this workout was rough! Barre requires a lot of muscle isolation and if you're not ready to find out that you have muscles in places you didn't know existed, then you're in for a special treat. Very clean mats and equipment!! Class size was small and the instructor was able to help adjust attendees form as needed! Note: Must wear top, i.e., don't try to work out in just your adorably sassy sports bra like I did...(gosh, I'm so pretentious!) read more

I have nothing but awesome things to say about Pure Barre Carlsbad. All of the instructors and the owner is so kind and really want you to get the right technique and get the results that you want. The first thing they ask is if you have any injuries and they even tell you which exercises/stretches you should avoid during the class based off that injury. I have been coming here for over 3 years and I recommend it to anyone who will listen. I am an avid runner and I feel that barre class is a great complement to my running. I have become more flexible (for a runner, anyway) and I love the positive group environment and the motivating playlists. I go 3 times a week and I really see results. My arms are well toned and my butt has become more curvy (in a good way) and I have definition in my abs. The classes are challenging and the instructors are always coming around and correcting your form and helping you to make the exercises more challenging. I started coming because I had an injury that I incurred in a boot camp class and I couldn't run or ride a bike and barre was the only think I could do without injuring myself further. Each instructor is fun and awesome in her own way and I love each instructor for different things so it is hard for me to pick a favorite. I love it that the instructors and the front desk staff know my name and make me feel welcome. The owner is amazing and really gets to know her clients. She gave me a big hug when I saw her today and even noticed that I hadn't taken her class in awhile. Studio Barre makes you feel like family and I won't go to any other barre studio (unless it's one of their other Studio Barre franchises!). They also have a boutique with lots of cute workout clothes and jewelry and they also run monthly specials on class packages. read more

this place is the worst!! I won a raffle for a free class went to that - fine. i got a 4 week pack to keep trying it which didn't work for me. this was in February. It is now September and they have kept charging my card even though i have told them multiple times to cancel AND have rejected their charges to my credit. I am lucky i gave them my credit card only but at this point it is so annoying to have to constantly be charged 70$ a month and then wait another 3 weeks to get that back. DO NOT DO ANY CARD PAYMENTS HERE. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY ITS SO HARD FOR EMPLOYEES TO KEEP TRACK OF THE PAYMENTS. read more

So glad I found a pure barre studio near-ish where I live. I recently moved from Orange County and was bummed I'd be leaving my "home" studio. After a bit of a hiatus from working out, I decided it was time to get back into it. Very thankful for finding this studio and with a late class time on a couple of days so I can make it after work (I commute quite a distance for work). I was a little hesitant in trying it out since I haven't taken a barre class in a while. All my nerves were put to ease as the owner, Katy, was extremely friendly when I first stepped into the studio and gave me a crash course of what to expect - terms, technique, etc... She was also the instructor for my first class. At the end of class she made sure to follow up to see what I thought of class and I decided to give it a shot for a month. I can't say enough about pure barre and all the instructors!! You feel right at home upon your first class because your name is remembered immediately!! Haha! These pure barre gals take the time to help you out individually and always offer encouragement throughout! In terms of what changes happen to your body? Barre workouts have been a great discipline in my life this past year! I worked out at this barre studio for the past month and found it provides an uplifting experience with usually smaller class sizes. My only minor complaint is their limited class schedule, although they accommodate a time schedule that works and usually attend the evening classes (either at 5p, 5:30p or 7p on Tues/Thursdays). All the instructors are fantastic here and help you work productively with form so you achieve the best results! Since learning about this amazing workout from my first experience in May, Barre is an excellent one full hour, low impact, full body workout that will leave your muscles in ahhh! And, for best results, when you can take 2-3 classes per week! Since staying consistent with Barre for 5 months, I definitely see the results I desire and look forward to continuing this workout for life! I have tried many barre studios and found this particular studio one of my favorites! Nestled into a nice strip mall near the Cineplex in Carlsbad, and next to one of my other "go-to" juice spots - "Vitality Bowls". Parking can be challenging at certain times, but always found a parking spot not too far. read more
