Loved taking my first class here yesterday. It's located on the second floor of the 29th street mall area. They were really nice and welcoming for my first class. Showed me around the studio and helped me get setup with what I needed for class. The 6:30 class had a bunch of people but it wasn't full which was nice. The class is pretty standard for a barre class, lots of tiny moves that make your muscles shake. I also like that they offer other types of classes like strength. read more

I love pure barre and love this studio in particular! I've been doing pure barre for over 10 years, and it is by far the best low impact workout class out there (and the best barre class by far). There are several different class formats to help you get a well rounded workout, but they're all just the right amount of doable and challenging, and all low impact (injury friendly!). The atmosphere and staff are super welcoming, and the instructors are supportive and helpful, offering personal modifications if needed. I've been taking classes at this studio for about 4 years and love it. They've helped me recover from multiple knee surgeries, and while the class formats are familiar, each one is different so even after a decade of these classes, I'm not bored! I've found that returning to barre has helped me find my center and ground myself. I've had two spine challenges in my life: a car accident a few years ago that broke some ribs, and a rare cyst lodged in the foramen of my spine, just earlier this year. After the car accident, I discovered PureBarre, and this class with Mish & Shalisa helped me strengthen my core + whole body. This allowed me to get back to running and cycling, which I love, and am forever grateful. Now that this studio is under new Management, ALL of the instructors are amazing!! Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with a cyst in my lumbar spine, which prevented me from moving. Until this was discovered I spent hours at a time (5+) sitting in a hot tub to manage the intense pain...much less working out. While it's important to give the body time to heal, too much inactivity can also be harmful. Now that I'm cleared to start be active again, I immediately returned to barre. This class once again (with ALL their instructors) is helping me rebuild my physical strength and flexibility, as well as my mental well-being. Pure Barre Boulder - Barre Classes Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

I've been a long time fan of this studio and was excited to stop in during an open house event last month which offered complimentary classes, snacks and raffles. So much fun. As it had been a few years since I'd been in there were a few changes: new staff (tho I have seen Shalisa in there!), new owner, and some new questions on the sign-in/waiver (example: "am I in/affiliated with a sorority"). During this fun-filled open house there was a great option to join (5 weeks for $89). As I was recovering from a few injuries the low impact classes were very enticing as I wanted to be sure to keep moving and strengthening and stretching while recovering. I attended 1-3 classes a week (sometimes I was the oldest in the room, and sometimes I was near the youngest). Lots of diversity in attendees (there were men sometimes too!) . Teachers were always happy to made adjustments to the movements and poses so that I could perform them more comfortably with my injuries which was great. With another gym a couple doors down with similar class times I didn't find it as easy to find parking (particularly in the morning). I didn't mind parking in the garage or a little ways away so I could get myself a little warmed up on the way in. The complimentary items were very useful: lifesavers at the front desk and by the cubbies (in my favorite wintergreen flavor no less), and in the restroom: spray deodorant (lifesaver!), mouth wash, and lotion. The reason I gave 3 out of 5 stars is: a number of classes I attended ran 5-10 minutes over (which was bothersome, particularly when classes were taken before work or during my lunch break), there was also an instance where I registered successfully for a 5:30 AM class only to show up and find that the studio was both dark and locked, total bummer. I reached out to the studio ASAP via the number they often text me from to inquire about the 5:30 AM class and never heard back. Overall I've enjoyed this facility but would look for class diversity and additional amenities (showers, newer equipment, etc.) before joining at a rate above nearby clubs that offer a range of classes, equipment, and facilities (pool, hot tub, showers, etc.). read more

I love this studio so much. The community here is the warmest, most supportive of any studio fitness I've ever experienced. The instructors are incredible, the workouts are constantly changing, the class duration (50 min) is the perfect length, and the environment is so motivating. After two heinous ankle breaks, Pure Barre was the only low impact workout that gave me real results while simultaneously rehabbing and regaining strength. It's amazingly complementary to climbing, skiing and every other impact sport since it incorporates strength, agility, balance and flexibility into varying sequences. It also teaches you how to embrace suffering in a way that's addictive. I did Pure Barre religiously throughout my pregnancy and it kept me so flexible and strong. I'm three months postpartum, have bounced back so quickly. It's the best hour of my day. read more

I freaking love Pure Barre. I have never been a dancer and have absolutely no coordination or flexibility. I love to cycle, run, and do workout classes at my gym, but no matter what Pure Barre is always where I feel the most change. No matter how frequently I go, I am always sore somewhere after every single class. It really pushes you to work different muscles that you would doing any other workout. I love it! Also, while I live in Boulder, I travel frequently for work all over the country. I always like to get my Pure Barre in so I've been to 20+ studios. All Pure Barre's are awesome, but this is by far the best studio. So lucky to have this PB just 5 minutes from my house. read more

As I sit here writing this review I am painfully aware of the soreness that is evident in every shift of my legs, butt and torso. But I LOVE IT. Is there anything better than feeling the results from a gut wrenching workout? I think not... This class is one of the most intense workouts and delivers the best results while all the teachers provide personal instruction. You will sweat, you will shake, you may want to cry. Yes, this class burns but your body will thank you. TIP for newbies: be sure you bring socks to your first class. No shoes in the class, just socks. read more

Pure Barre is the best! I'm usually not a fan of workout classes but this is totally different. It takes so much concentration that the hour flies by. The teachers are great at explaining what to do, why you are doing it and come help you when you need it. They also know everyone by name, introduce themselves if they haven't met you, and check for past injuries so they know your weaknesses. I was afraid of not being able to keep up or looking out of place but everyone is so focused on doing the moves correctly they don't notice if you are uncoordinated. I leave class every time knowing I got a really great workout and looking forward to the next time I go. I usually go 4 or 5 times a week and started noticing results in 2 weeks. Every class I improve upon the time before. I was hesitant to try pure barre at first and I'm so glad I got over that! Now I don't know what I would do without it and can't imagine not going multiple times a week in the future. read more

You can believe everything you read about Pure Barre in Boulder. The instructors are amazing. And they strongly encourage men to participate. I lost a lot of weight and feel the workouts are worth the cost. But they run a slightly shady business. When I signed up for an introductory month of 8 classes, I was not told that it was actually a 3 month required contract. But I spoke to more than one employee during sign up who insisted it was a 30 day 8 month class, and there was no required contract. They are also entirely strict about their 30 days. I took ill for about 7 days, it's the winter and lots of people get bad colds. When I returned I mentioned my cold to Shelley, the business owner. She informed me I had until the 16th to use my classes. I went in today to use a final class (knowing I still had two additional unused). And I was told that I could buy a $25.00 single class. I understand that rent in Boulder is expensive. But the rent is expensive everywhere in Boulder, and people are still able to be vaguely gracious. The workouts are incredible though! read more

The entire Pure Barre experience is out of this world from the moment you sign up for a class, to walking in, working out and heading out. Scheduling is easy, everyone in the front office is delightful, the instructors are kind, patient, invested in you and your experience, and the workout is an entire body workout that will change your shape like nothing else you will do! After trying multiple barre and workout studios around Boulder, Purebarre Boulder is the one that somehow made me excited to go to class and got me out of my yearlong workout funk. The instructors go out of their way to learn everyone's name making me feel like I'm not just another number. It's one of the few workouts I've found that gives me the same soreness and internal mountains to climb as a boot camp class while being non impact on my damaged knee. That being said, this workout is as hard as you want to make it. There is pregnant women, older people and younger people all in the same class making the modifications on every exercise to do it at their level. read more

I started going to pure barre a few months ago and I love it. It's the one thing I do just for me. It is by far one of the hardest most rewarding workouts I've ever done. I started Pure Barre after finding a lot of the classes offered at regular gyms in Boulder less than satisfactory. I signed up for the month unlimited and have been very pleased with the refined toning that these classes provide, they are addicting! The instructors are all wonderful and really get to know each student by name and make adjustments to perfect posture and form throughout class. Hope to be taking these classes for a long time! My only wish is that the monthly unlimited classes were a bit more reasonable, as it does cost about double a regular gym membership. read more

Started pure barre just this week! They were offering an awesome $100 unlimited classes special and I decided to join! I've been eating clean and doing light exercise but wanted to see more of a difference and three classes later I'm getting the hang of it and seeing small but a change already! I'm 1 week into a month long trial membership, and I have to say that this place rocks! The instructors are awesome and really take the time to make sure you're getting the most out of your experience. I tend to get overwhelmed by a wide varieties of fitness classes at gyms, and Pure Barre takes all the guesswork out. There's one type of class which varies only slightly from one instructor from another. It's predictable but not redundant. Every single class hurts like a b***h. And I can already see the difference in my body. Totally worth it! Will update again after the full month is up. read more

I LOVE Pure Barre!! I've been taking classes regularly since the studio first opened and really love the way it makes me feel. I've been dancing for 23 years and did so professionally for a while, but just recently retired. I love that Pure Barre keeps me in even better shape than when I was at my peak dancing! I never really been into going to the gym nor have I gotten into yoga because the pace was too slow for me and I felt like I wasn't getting a great workout. Pure Barre is the perfect workout for me! The music and instructors are very motivating and the mental challenge is just as strong as the physical challenge. The movements are so small and precise that it really takes intense focus and concentration to do it correctly. I love that my mind never wanders off to other life stresses during the class - it's a mental relief from the stresses of my day! For those who haven't tried yet or have only taken one class - this isn't the type of thing you'll catch onto the first time. It took me about 3 classes to get the moves right and have that "Oh, THIS is what it's supposed to feel like" moment. That's not to say those first few classes were a waste, but I now know I'm doing things correctly. And while some things get easier, I can always push myself to go lower and hold the moves longer. If you're a newbie, you might try the "Breaking Down the Barre" class which goes over the instruction and movements in more detail (so I hear - I didn't actually take the class). This was my first time ever going to a class like this because I've always been intimidated. I am not much for group classes and I am very uncoordinated but the atmosphere here is very welcoming and I didn't feel out of place at all. Shalisa was one of the best instructors/trainers I have ever been to! I am pretty sure I was the only newbie in the class and she didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. She paid attention to me and made sure I was doing the positions correctly. Not to mention, that my body was sore right after! But a good sore :) I'll definitely be back! read more

Loved the classes and the instructors. Signed up for their $89 special for a month and was planning to stay with them until I got charged Automatically for $179 membership the following month. The front desk receptionist never told me I was signing up for a auto-pay membership, they need to hire better front staff. Called and spoke with the owner and due to them being a "small business" they could not refund me. TERRIBLE customer service and I will never return again. Make sure you don't get secretly locked into a contract and them taking your money. I will tell everyone about this experience. read more

Pure Barre is an amazing work out. I did mat pilates for years and needed to step up my work out program. Pure Barre did exactly that. It is a hard work out but definitely worth every drop of sweat!
