I love this studio and have been a member since March. There are a variety of classes offered (i.e. not just classic, but strength training, cardio and balance/flexibility classes are offered too) and the instructors switch up the combos so the classes never get stale and I feel a challenge every time I go. Since March, I've lost 10 pounds and really feel the flexibility and strength of my body by taking Pure Barre 3-5 times a week. They also celebrate your milestones which is a nice touch. I love attending Lindsey's classes but really enjoy all of the instructors including Kirstie, Katie, Jill, Jordan and more. The staff are so nice as well: Emily, Abby, Sophie and Patrick have been so welcoming. I've been to 3 other Pure Barre studios while out of town and really like the set up of this one the most. Free parking is a two minute walk away (Beverly Hills Tennis) and I've never had issues with finding a spot. read more

Everyone is so kind and helpful! 6am classes are THE best way to get your day started. I am so much happier throughout my day! I just wish they offered them more often through the week so I can go before work! If you go before 8am there is street parking right in front for free since meters don't start until then. If you go after 8am you can park in the structure down the street at La Cienega Tennis Courts for free as well. It's a little tricky to find the door to enter. Just pass the subway and you'll see the pure barre sign in the little alley way. I LOVE how they use headphones for the music and listening to the instructor. It's like a silent dance part workout! Please DONT get discouraged if your first class doesn't go well. It takes time to understand the movements and I PROMISE you'll get it down after a few classes :) Overall I love the whole concept of incorporating ballet, yoga, strength training all in one! I recently moved to the area and was psyched to rejoin the Pure Barre family! I was immediately dismayed and disturbed, by my overall experience. Firstly, I found the conditions of the studio to be subpar- bathrooms are unkempt and unstocked, studio carpet stains throughout, cracks in the studio mirrors, flickering lights and poorly setup equipment. Security, or lack there of, was also a concern. The sound system was poorly functioning, so throughout the class, tempering of the music and volume of the mike, impacting instruction, rendered classes hard to follow. Most importantly, a lack of consistency with the quality of the instructors. Noted, apprenticing instructors and most concerning to the Pure Barre brand, is the lead instructor - extremely unprofessional and sarcastic, with a consistent barrage of demeaning comments throughout classes . When she selectively makes corrections, aggressive tactile adjustments and insulting. From reading the other reviews and from the community perspective, she has been the source of the studio consistently losing members and employees. The owner- who also seems to need to brush up on her seems to prioritize this loyalty, over a sense of well-being for the studio. The classes range from scarcity to being overpacked- promos posted all over the studio to amplify attendance and clothing sales. Overall poor mgmt and experience. I have been consistently going to Bar Method but decided to try Pure Barre on the recommendation of my friend who loves it. The first class was free (for new clients) and the staff at pure Barre Beverly hills were super friendly! They called me before my first class to see what my fitness goals were and to acquaint me with the studio and class. There is free parking at the Beverly Hills Tennis Center. It's a couple blocks away, but free parking beats driving around searching for street parking. The workout itself was great. Very different from other typical barre classes - it felt more cardio based. Overall I enjoyed the workout - the pricing is a bit expensive, but classes are also offered through Classpass so I will probably reserve through that app. read more

I love the PB workout after going consecutively for a couple months. At first, I didn't feel like it was that much of a workout, but I realized that it's mainly because I wasn't using the correct muscles. They are tiny and very specific movements. The class structure is consistent: abs, arms, thighs, booty, abs and booty again. Now when I go to class, I shake and sweat a ton and very class is challenging- but not in a bad way! All the instructors, staff and clients are friendly. There are cubbies for your personal items and a water station. You are required to wear socks in class, but if you happen to forget them, they sell super cute ones in their retail area, which is the front lobby of the studio and I can't seem to walk away without buying something. I decided to try barre for the first time here, and overall had a decent experience. I was kind of thrown in to the pit with not much knowledge ahead of time of what to expect, but it was fine. I ended up working out hard and sweating. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful which I did like. The instructor Ani did come up to me at the beginning to introduce herself and give me a very quick run through of how the class worked and how to "tuck". Class begun and it all seemed kind of a mess. I prefer more of a structured workout class versus a big room packed with people all over the place trying to find their own personal space bubble to work out in. Music was super loud, and the instructor uses a mic, but I still had a lot of trouble hearing and comprehending what she was saying which was a bummer. I always had to look at the other students to see what I was supposed to be doing. The class was very hard but in a good way. There was a lot of shaking and sweat involved, even if I wasn't doing the moves correctly I still got some kind of workout. I think for barre newcomers like myself it would be helpful to have a smaller and slower class to start out with, more one-on-one so we can properly learn form and moves. Parking is metered street parking only, but luckily when I went I didn't have to pay. Other students in the class aren't that friendly but I guess we're all just busy trying to work out. She told me that the door is locked after the 5 minute grace period, but I asked kindly if she'd be able to unlock it for one more minute. She denied. Move over yoga, I think I've found my new fitness love. PARKING: Street (if you want to take a walk, there's one hour parking two streets over!). There's some metered parking closer to the place, and the meters are reasonably priced. You may have some trouble finding the studio. It's north of the Starbucks, so if you're walking north on La Cienega..keep going! :) Go past the two story building and it's tucked behind another shop. You'll see the big P sign CLASSES: The classes here are phenomenal. Although you don't sweat buckets like you do at bikram, you still get the results! There's a lot of spot training here (specifically your seat), so be sure to really lean into your stretches. I love that it's a lot of resistance training with the light weights, so your arms get that defined look to them! Pace yourself, the class is 55 minutes, but it feels like a lifetime! If you want to get back into shape or continue to stay in shape, I highly suggest Pure Barre! I came to Pure Barre 2 years ago and I recently rejoined, and the quality of the workout remained the same, if not got better. You are able to see results within DAYS. I went on a 3.5 month backpacking trip and came back to LA in the worst shape of my life. Within 2 weeks, I lost all my weight, toned back up, and am even in better shape then when I left to my trip. Pure Barre kicks your butt and is so challenging, but in such a fun way. Everyday, I look forward to coming to class and get bummed when I have to miss a class. The environment and staff are super welcoming, and the instructors or so so awesome. The instructors will adjust you if you are not in the correct position or doing the exercise wrong, which is really really helpful. You can tell that they are there for you and they want you to get better with every workout. Very empowering and motivating group of instructors. Jill, the owner, is super accommodating and also one of the best instructors I have had. LOVE! Barre is way more challenging than I thought it'd be--in a great way! I grew up as a rigorous athlete so I typically gravitated towards HIIT, boxing, or other more intense cardio-centric workouts when choosing my exercise. I even used to secretly laugh at my friends who did PB, claiming there was no way it could be a real workout, but I was so wrong! PBBH is GREAT! They have the sweetest staff that seems like a family, they strongly value their clientele, and they always want to make sure you're getting the most out of a workout. The studio is clean, cute, and has free parking at the La Cienega Tennis Courts nearby. They also offer intensives and special events that are super fun! The ONLY thing I wish was different was that sometimes certain aspects of the class are too repetitive! I have the warmups memorized because they're always the same. So while the workout is still GREAT, I do worry that my muscles and my mind will get bored. I hope they SHAKE THINGS UP some (like my legs during the final 10 of thighs). read more

I've been making good use of my ClassPass... and this was another location and studio to visit. So far, only been to the early morning classes at this location, and I love them. For those beginners - you can definitely wear normal socks, and don't be intimidated. The teachers are all great at correcting your form and friendly. You can show up knowing nothing about barre (very little to do with ballet - you need no dance knowledge, for sure) and just pick a middle spot so you can see and follow those all around you. The classes are great for working those muscles you always ignore but you know you should work. Lots of moves that are small and tight, and this causes your abs, your arms, your legs to shake. Work through the shake, at least that's what they always say. I've been to a few other barre classes, and I like the form, music, and instruction in this class. I'll definitely be back for more. Major con: parking. I've read via yelp that there is free parking in the tennis court lot, but never tried that myself. I usually park on Gregory. As an entertainment personality who has to "play dress up", be on camera and to events almost daily, Pure Barre is my go-to when I need an instant body confidence boost. It does that like no other. You know a place is good if you skip a workout for a day, and that day just isn't right. I found Pure Barre via Classpass, and I'm so glad I did. It's a hole in the wall location, and you might miss it if you're just passing by. Once you step inside, you're transported to a blissful workout area for the next hour. They offer cute workout apparel and accessories, but I'm always so rushed in the mornings that I never have time to peruse. After checking in, you can store your stuff in cubbies, get some water, and sniff those amazing candles. (I do love a god candle.) I've had so many different teachers (even a pregnant one who can out-barre her students) and they're all amazing. Each one has their own unique method and pace, so you nice get bored or fall into a routine. Also, the music-- so many places don't really focus on the music, and they keep you on beat. I am so much more motivated to kill myself with some good music. read more

I've taken classes at a couple different barre places, but I'm just not a huge fan of the Pure Barre workouts. I guess it's just personal preference, but some of the moves get a little too complex for me. I feel like when you're doing something that's really challenging, like balancing on your toes while lowered into a squat, trying to do something with your arms as well is just asking too much, and I can't focus on doing a good job at any of it. The facility is quite nice, but the room itself gets uncomfortably hot, and I don't think they turn on the fan until the end. The music is so loud I can't hear what the instructor is saying, and they often don't demonstrate what they're asking you to do. Also, they don't try to learn your name, so it feels less personalized, but they do sometimes try to correct your form at least. read more

When I saw the Living Social deal for unlimited classes for 2 weeks for $35...I had to snatch it up! I have been wanting to take Pure Barre classes because I heard that it was good for leaning out your body. I have been going everyday M-F and feel the burn during and post workout! Each class uses isometric movements to tighten the seat (aka butt!), legs, arms and abs. The first two classes, I felt like I was doing the movements wrong because you are only suppose to use very small movements using the targeted muscle. But after the third class, it all clicked! So if you give this class a try, don't give up and really listen to the instructor. I've had classes with Blake, Ani, and Celina thus far, and would have to say Blake is my fav! He explains all the postures in detail and also goes around the class to correct your position for the ultimate burn! But really they all have been great and motivating. Also, what keeps me going during this 55 minute class is the music...very upbeat and makes me want to dance! The studio is really clean and well decorated. There are 2 bathrooms and another separate changing area. The studio is also conveniently located next to the La Cienega Tennis Courts, which means 2 hours free parking! The only negative is the cost of classes...they have different packages available. However, I definitely think its worth the cost! read more

I really like it here. I'm an agency-signed model and it targets all the places my agency wants to see (thighs/butt/stomach). I was already in good shape, but I end up shaking every class, and I'm getting the results that I want (long, slim muscle tone). Highly recommended. I've been to several Pure Barre/Barre Method studios, really where ever Groupon takes me to. Barre workouts are the best and I love how it strengthens and tones and how I can most definitely see results. I like this studio because while it may be smaller, it feels more homey and personal (compared to Hollywood at least) It's probably the smallest studio I've seen and fits about maybe... 20 people? Be sure to make a reservation online, especially on the weekends. Chances are if you don't, you probably won't get a spot in the class. The teachers are friendly and on your first class, they come up and introduce themselves and ask if you have any injuries. Just a nice personal touch. Also, I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I love the music they play in this studio. It goes really well with the work out and gets me pumped up. Parking is weird here. They suggest that you park in the tennis court structure, and while I see the tennis courts I never found the structure. Just as well because I think it's easier to park on S Le Doux Road, which is right across from the tennis courts and on one side of the street, it's free and the other side has meters... up to you... Just be sure to read the signs. From there, it's less that five minutes to get to the studio. Enjoy your workout! read more

I am obsessed with pure barre and this was the second studio in the LA area that I attended. Like other pb studios this one was great. The instructors are fantastic and my favorites were Ani and Kevin. Ani challenged everyone in every class and always brought a fun and positive vibe. She's also pretty funny and it brings a lighthearted-ness to your 50 minutes of ltb. Kevin's classes were always SO intense, it was wonderful. He took pb classic classes to a new level. I would sweat every time and be sore for a few days! He also made class enjoyable and had a consistent upbeat energy with every class he taught. I just noted my two favorite instructors but all of them at PB BH do a great job teaching the pure barre method. They will help you to be better and provide very specific details on how to improve your form. It's the best! I had a great experience here and Jill is wonderful. She is super sweet and will help you with any questions you have. Pure barre is a very fun workout, which is why I'm addicted to it. The positive community of the studios and level of quality in the instructors is unmatched. It's 50 minutes of time for just you and where you can just shut off your mind. Note that the class is as challenging as you make it. Whatever effort you put into it is what you'll get out of it, which makes it harder sometimes because you have to push yourself. It's right by my apartment and GroupOn was having a deal so I decided to get my butt toned up for summer. Alison is the best Pure Barre instructor I have ever had. I break a sweat every time. Today I went in with a sprained/bruised/broken toe and she was so attentive in working with me to still get my work out in without hurting myself. It's a beautiful space. The decor is inviting, the room is a nice size and the classes are not over packed. I will definitely continue taking classes here even when my Group On expires. Tip: I walk to the location now, but the first day I drove. Be careful of street parking hours. There is no parking allowed in the lot next to them. There is a lot that is $6 after 6 pm by Starbucks. The Beverly Hills Pure Barre studio made me fall in LOVE with pure barre. I've done barre classes and even pure barre locations but I just don't think any studios are comparable. This studio has free 2 hour parking less than a block away and it's really well put together. The layout is perfect, it has a spacious open and welcoming lobby and two large bathrooms and the studio itself seems much larger than other barre studios. I don't know whether is actually is or whether it's that meticulously designed, but it never feels crowded even when there's lots of people in class. They have great merchandise, lots of inspiration everywhere and even the front desk staff are very friendly and professional. The entire studio possesses a great sense of warmth- which makes perfect sense because Kelsey is so kind and clearly attentive to each detail. Everything about this studio is completely top notch. The owner Kelsey is absolutely fabulous. She radiates positive energy and is so warm and welcoming! She also teaches on occasion and her classes are awesome-- she truly pushes you and encourages you every step of the way. All of the other instructors are lovely as well. I have taken Kim Tuch, Samantha and Ani! Each of them gave me great corrections on my form that made the workout more challenging and effective. They also consistently remind you how much time is left in between changes to push you to keep going even if it feels like you don't have much left in you. They are incredibly attentive and encouraging and call most people by name to assist or encourage them. Also-- Pure Barre Platform-- LOVE! It has become one of my favorite cardio workouts and I love how I feel after the classes. It's obviously different from the regular classes, but it's a lot of fun. I was in shock of how easy the class was. After buying a living social and using it once I was so disappointed at the level of difficulty. Too easy, loud music no correction from teacher. I guess I was spoiled by Xtend bar and bar Method both very challenging with immediate results. I need to get the most out of that hour Also no locks on lockers or change rooms, yummy water though available and very sweet staff I still gave 4 stars because the review is more personal I am in great shape and need challenge, this would be a great class for beginners where my workouts are filled with girls already in pretty good shape. read more

LET ME BE COMPLETELY honest with you. I am not a workout class type of girl. **I'm more of an elliptical trainer humper** When my friend INSISTED we go to a work out class together, I was hesitant, and came up with excuses like, "oh my back hurts", "darn it, I have to go pick up my SO AND SO at the airport", "ouch, I stubbed my toe"... Yeah, well when my excuses ran out (AKA: she totally caught on) I finally said OKAY! FINE! We went to a class on Sunday morning. The nice part about going on a Sunday is that the parking around the area is FREE! Woo Woo! (First class = $10) We had a bit of an issue finding the place though since it's squeezed between two buildings, but we located it after following a chick wearing work out clothes. When we got there, we both checked in... I told the instructor that I might pass out because I didn't eat anything (whoops) prior to the class and that I've never done a class like this or in general before in my life. She smiled and said she had some granola if I wanted it and then also assured me that I would be fine. While I turned down her granola offer (uh, hello, WAY TOO MUCH SUGAR - lmfao), I did smile at her words of encouragement. NOW GIVE ME A SUGAR-FREE ENERGY DRINK! STAT! The class is 60 minutes. At first you do some cardio-esque type moves to get your blood pumping (high kicks like you're a freaking cheerleader, eat your HEART OUT Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders) and then you do small all over body toning moves (leg lifts anyone? So what did I hear myself saying to my friend after Jane Fonda... I mean, this class whooped my ass? I LOVED IT. Say what??? It really was a great toning class. Lifting weights is rather boring to me, this class was ENTERTAINING. The music was pumping, the instructor was very helpful and made sure all her students were doing the right moves. I give this class an ASS-FIVE and will NEVER let a FAKE stubbed toe get in the way again! I cannot wait until there is a Groupon deal, because I will buy the sh** out of it! And I will even buy Pure Barre GROUPON GIFTS for all of my friends!! Nothing says friendship more than the gift of FITNESS? There is one requirement for this class though... I'm recovering from knee surgery, and have been looking for something low impact to help with my recovery. Pure Barre seemed to be just what I needed. They offered a free introductory class, so I thought I'd give it a try. I told them about my medical condition; I was assured they could help me. Too bad they failed to tell me they had no visible signage (making them difficult to find), that their recommended nearest parking was a block away (Beverly Hills long block). (They have no parking facility of their own, their location is tucked behind other businesses.) Eventually, the distance will be fine. Right now, absolutely not. They emailed me this morning, apologizing for the miscommunication and begged me to give them another chance. I said no. I was willing to let it go at that. But, no, now they're calling me, claiming their email with the parking information "bounced." My email server has a robust spam filter, so I ALWAYS check. They never emailed me about their parking situation. Their manager, Nellie, lied. I don't like being harassed. I DESPISE being lied to. Liars can not be trusted. Do NOT contact me again! read more

This place is fantastic! Staff is very friendly and helpful, that have a fun, energetic owner to match! Found this place through groupon initially, and found myself signing up for their Summer Special they had going on immediately after. I was hooked! Going to classes as often as possible (utilizing the 2-months of unlimited visits), and finding myself sad on my planned vacations that I was unable to go. Had me feeling great! I think the staff is what really makes this place, they can really MOTIVATE! Overall good cardio and a great toning workout! Also, visited a few times through class pass this year too! Unfortunately... I'm unable to attend currently, but I can guarantee as soon as I'm able I'll be back to tuck, lift, and burn! read more

I have tried lots of the "trendy" workouts, and this location/style suits me best. The staff is very willing to work with you and they always have deals to help you out. SO, let's get to it - PROS - Free parking Knowledgeable/approachable staff VERY clean facility Fantastic energy inside (shut up - this is a real thing) My favorite instructor is here - Allison The owner is a FEMALE and she's super sweet - double bonuses like that make me want to support the business CONS - Classes here are VERY popular so I have to go at off times to actually get a space (but this just shows you how awesome this location is) Not all instructors are pumped to be there Additional note - I have random injuries often (I'm an athlete that is too lazy to stretch, so it happens) and I asked Allison the other morning about a knee injury I have had for 2 months now. She showed me two different stretches and I'm not joking - two days later, my knee pain is about 75% less than what it was. She's a wizard. Oh, as an aside, I broke my arm in the middle of a class package back in 2013 and was unable to do any weight bearing exercises for a full year from the break. That meant, unfortunately, that I would not be able to attend classes here for a full year. Not only were they super cool about this, but they also didn't let my class package expire as it was supposed to for a full year. This gesture has made me a lifer. Little things actually matter, guys. This isn't the stereotypical Beverly Hills workout location you think it would be. It's awesome. read more
