I love this place!! I've come and tried 4 different instructors and each instructor is amazing. I feel super sore after every class so you know that you're getting a great work out. Instructors also come by to help you with your form gently which is really nice. It's so nice and cool from the air conditioning fans which honestly is really nice to not sweat too crazy. And I love that we have a mirror so we can check our form while working out. I think there is parking in the back but I've never had issues with finding street parking. read more

This was a CRAZY workout. I've never done Lagree or been to this studio, so it was definitely a shock to the system. That being said, Madison our instructor was absolutely lovely and so welcoming. Pilates platinum is a no-frills reformer studio with challenging classes for all skill levels. I started coming here after trying a couple Pilates studios around LA - lagree, mat Pilates, reformer, etc. I've landed with this studio for several reasons. One is I've tried several instructors and all are excellent. There is an emphasis on correct posturing over speed, which is a noticeable difference from other studios I've been to where I've had to kind of throw my body around, not knowing what I was doing, to the detriment of my alignment and form. I also like that even though classes have a variety of skill levels, beginners can hang with the instructors providing clear guidelines for making movements easier or harder. I've found as I've gotten more comfortable/skilled, I'm still being equally challenged because I can use more springs or adjust to their suggested modifications. Last, I just love the feel of the studio - music is always great, machines are spaced out so I don't feel too packed together with other students, it's always clean, etc. The only con is it's confusing coming here for the first time. Firstly is parking - make sure to use the De Longpre entranced, and sometimes the gate requires a code to get in. They actually have all info posted online, which I didn't realize until recently lol. Also is the checkin process - they don't have a front desk, so you kind of just have to tell the instructor who you are and they mark you down. These are small complaints though for an excellent studio! read more

I have done over 100 lagree workouts in my life, and have gone to several studies I have loved. PP is not one of them. I did a 10 class pack and probably won't go back. Women with larger breasts and some belly fat have difficulty doing reformer exercises that require you to be on your hands and wrists. Even if they are strong, they just have much more weight pulling them down when doing a plank! This has never been a problem for me at other studios, as the instructors design classes where any body shape can get a good workout, and they also add substantial modifications. The instructors at PP rarely do this, and I often left frustrated because even though I am strong and trying to become stronger, I simply did not have the physical anatomy to do some of the exercises! PP instructors were also condescending; one frequently changed my springs to lower levels without my asking because she assumed I could not do the exercise. I think this place is great if you're tall and skinny, but you'll feel out of place and somewhat ashamed of yourself if you aren't. read more

When I first walked into the studio I wasn't sure what do do. There's no front desk and there wasn't an instructor up front greeting anyone. I saw someone sitting in the back of the room by the back door on her phone and asked her if she's the instructor - and she was. She checked me in for the class at that point via her phone. The instructor was friendly and kept an eye on everyone's form the entire class. The class was very challenging, well it was for me at least - I had not worked out for months due to opening a new business alongside my day job. I made up my own mods (none were offered by the instructor) to try to keep myself from overdoing it and to avoid injuries; however, even though I'm generally athletic/healthy & have taken pilates classes before, and made my own mods to temper the intensity, I was still sore for about four solid days post - like painful to sit up in bed in the morning sore. I had to cancel all upcoming classes because my body was in so sore that I couldn't really do much until it healed. I feel that regardless of where you go, any instructors should be mindful of the physical situation for newcomers and should offer mods and advice to help avoid overdoing it, which I clearly did. Nobody should be sore for four days. I get that the studio wants to offer intense, challenging classes, but please be up front about it on ClassPass - maybe even provide a warning for people that are just getting back into things or have instructors engage/address all experience levels in the class. I told the instructor I was previously with Eden Pilates and her response was that this is much faster and more intense. I didn't know what to really make of that at the time and wasn't going to just leave at that point. I was already there and there was no way to schedule something elsewhere at that time. The studio is very simple, no frills. I read on their website that you can purchase toe socks there, but didn't really see a place to do that last time, so when I didn't have time to stop home before 5:30pm class today to grab socks, I tried to call but nobody answered. The voicemail says to text/email for a quicker response, so I sent a text, but still don't have a response and I missed my class. Also, I was booked for a class last Saturday morning, and my 18 year old dog went into heart failure on Friday and was in the hospital all day and night. In all of this, I completely forgot to cancel within the 12 hour window (ClassPass) so I tried calling & emailing to apologize & let them know about my situation to see if I could cancel through the studio and get my credits back, early on Saturday before class started. Nobody answered, but I got an email from the owner hours later just stating "I'm so sorry to hear. Hope all is ok." But there was absolutely no response to any of my questions or concerns about the cancellation and credits. It was kind of her to acknowledge the unfortunate situation, but why weren't my questions/concerns addressed? I was kind enough to apologize and let them know I'd be absent due to an emergency, someone should have responded to my questions. All in all I'm meh on this studio. I've had more engaging experiences at other studios where the mods were shown for each exercise so that the various experience levels could all feel appropriately challenged (unfortunately closed now due to covid), so I'll probably keep looking for someplace else, and may be back from time to time due to convenience/proximity to where I live. read more

I wish I could give a 0 star review. The most rude host I've ever met. Her name is Danielle Petersone, don't ever book her class if you don't wanna waste your time and energy. Yes, I arrived 20 mins late but there are still 25 mins of class and she refused to let me in, like I'm still paying for it, what is her problem ? I didn't like her attitude at all, she didn't offer me to reschedule or anything, just wanted me to leave. Also she asked if I have specific socks, but I left them in a car cause I was in rush ( btw drove all the way from long beach stucking in traffic) so I didn't wanna go back to car for them and take another 5 mins from my work out. And before I was with Nicole and she never asked me for any socks. I am a huge fan of Lagree method and have taken classes all over town with Pilates Plus, Lagree Underground, Motivate and with Sebastian. So I decided to try out Pilates Platinum in Hollywood. However, when I went to their site to create an account, I was presented with a lengthy waiver I had to agree to. Most of it was standard stuff, but there was also this: "By being on any Pilates Platinum premises or attending or participating in any Pilates Platinum activity, whether on or off the premises, I consent to being filmed, audio recorded and/or video recorded and to the use of any photographs, pictures, film, audio or videotape taken of me or provided by me for publicity, marketing, advertising, promotion, television, or any other use, and expressly waive any right of privacy, compensation, copyright or other ownership right connected to same." What in the world?? As a SAG/AFTRA member, I can not just give a blanket waiver for a gym to use my likeness (audio AND video) for any reason, which can also put me in breach of my employment contracts. If I were them I'd reconsider this, or you risk losing the vast majority of your membership base. Obviously, I'm not going to agree to it or attend this studio. read more

I've been coming to Pilates Platinum consistently for a little over a year now via ClassPass. I usually take Anjie Slate's class, but have also tried Mark Strong and Charity Hodges. All three instructors are great. There's also parking in the back, although sometimes parking is crammed on midmorning Saturday classes. I wish they would ask if it is anyone's 1st time or if anyone is new because sometimes people watch you do the moves incorrectly and it gets everyone off track. Needless to say, the area is on the boarder of safe and sketchy. WORKOUT: Most challenging workout for me- shake, sweat, burn- it does it all! INSTRUCTORS: every instructor has a different teaching method but all are very personable, skilled, motivating and fun. It's a group setting but the classes are so small, feels like private classes. Variety of music is energizing. STUDIO: I have only been to the Hollywood studio. 10 Pilates stations w/ spinning room. Clean and nicely spaced so you don't feel like you are on top of each other. Parking can be challenging but that is what I expect out of LA. MANAGEMENT: I have never met Heather but she is very prompt via email and super understanding. Always available to answer questions or address concerns. PRICING: it's not cheap but worth it. WARNING: This is the hardest workout I've ever done! Harder than P90X. Harder than any boot camp. Harder than anything! Don't come here if you just want to pretend to work out. Come here to sweat and work your muscles until they shake (to quote the instructors, "that's when the changes occur"). The results are awesome though! I have a bulging disc in my back and after a month of going here a few days a week, I was virtually pain free 24/7. I've now been going regularly for over 2 years and cannot stop singing its praises. Absolutely love this studio. It's so hard to find a great studio in LA that isn't hard to get to or too intimidating or too packed but Pilates platinum is truly a diamond in the rough. I adore Pilates Platinum! I have been on the hunt for a Goldilocks Pilates class - not too easy, but not too hard that I can't keep up or get injured. Pilates Platinum is just that! It's a challenging workout that gives me results without being too high-impact. Class size maxes out at about 9, so you get one-on-one attention from the instructor (Ricky is my favorite!). I really like how classes are taught - every instructor I've had plays high-energy music to keep you motivated, and teaches a great variety of moves with personalized modifications. The studio is simple - no fancy amenities, just cubbies, water, and a bathroom. I hear there is parking in the back, but there's also free parking around the corner and meter parking on Highland (unless it's evening rush hour, in which case, show up early!). read more

I am pretty new to pilates megareformer. It's a low intensity, full body workout. It will reshape and sculpt your body. Ricky is an amazing instructor. He is very attentive to everyone. He will teach you modifications or work with you to correct your form. His music is also amazing! I walk out of every class sore. Definitely worth coming to. It is painful, but not anymore painful than spin or Barrys. Just different. No pain, no gain. There is small parking lot in the back. Space is tight. I took my first class at Pilates Platinum this morning and I absolutely loved the instructor, Ricky. It's been longer than I care to admit since I've done a class but Rickey was so positive and awesome and helped me modify all the moves (because I needed it). His playlist was amazing and I loved his energy. The class was intense but he really got me through it. Highly recommend him! In general, Pilates Platinum is different than other reformer classes I've taken. Just be prepared if you're going to go. I've taken a ton of reformer pilates before but it didn't really prepare me for this style. read more

Overall it was a very difficult and challenging workout, my major complaint was the lack of attention from the teacher to newcomers. I got a quick and dirty 'how to' right before class, but not once did I get any help during the class on technique. I was worried I may injure myself as it was a tough workout and hard to know exactly what muscle you're supposed to be engaging. I came away feeling irritated and sore. After class, all I got was a 'well yeah I told you, it's not pilates!'. OK, well maybe don't name the studio Pilates Platinum. Parking here is a nightmare. You can't park on highland after 4 cuz of gridlock control and you can't park in the neighborhood without a permit after 6. They have a lot in the back that is gated but don't bother because it's a pain in the ass to get out if there's another class right after. I took the half spin half pilates reformer class and I def won't be coming back. The instructor as well as some the other regulars were late. During class some students just walked out of the spin part before it ended. I don't know if they couldn't hang anymore or lost interest because the music system sucked or felt claustrophobic in the small room. Not only is that rude but it just messes up the momentum. The only part that I somewhat enjoyed was the pilates portion but if you're a newbie like me this studio is probably not for you. I would recommend Love for Pilates or Circuit Pilates where the instructors are more concerned about proper form to ensure a true work out. read more

TL;DR challenging (you'll be sore) reformer Pilates, but 4 stars because quality of classes is SUPER dependent on the instructor. WHAT'S GREAT: I love the classes generally. I always get a solid workout in, am usually sore (though soreness level varies) the next day or so. The studios are clean, reformers are in good condition, and the class price (in bulk) is much better than other boutique reformer studios in the area. WHAT COULD IMPROVE: Unfortunately the classes can be pretty inconsistent when it comes to quality. The instructor you get REALLY matters - from the superficial (e.g. the music) to the super important (e.g. instruction and correction on form, difficulty of the classes). Amazing workout ! Following baby #2 ( csection again) ugh! Had really weak a abdominal muscles, much fat to lose and a horrific and painful hematoma on my healing incision. After 5 months of doing Pilates and spinning in combination with healthy eating. I lost 25 lbs hematoma mostly gone and abdominal muscles are much stronger. I absolutely love this place. Such a great workout. I have scoliosis and chronic back pain to go with it. Before I decided to give Pilates Platinum a go at the beginning of November I made a choice to go into it with the sole purpose of strengthening my back (instead of my usual "lose 5 lbs" routine). And for once, I did what I said I was going to do and went hardcore (for me) for a month. I was there 4 to 5 times a week. And here's the crazy part -- I loved every second of it. Found myself *looking forward* to classes. Seriously guys, that doesn't happen in my life. After just few weeks of this I was virtually free of back pain, feeling so much better and noticing changes in my body as well. These guys rawk! This was my first pilates class, ever. Had a then-girlfriend tell me that it was a hard workout, and I was like, "yeeeeeeah, OK...girlie." She responded appropriately (I still have the limp) and I swore I would go. Man! If you're a guy, and you're reading this going "yeeeeeeeah, OK...girlie," you are as misinformed as I was when I showed up here. After these 98 lb women with 3% bodyfat kick your @$$ for 50 minutes or so, you'll be singing a different tune. The best way to describe pilates and to give the inexperienced a snapshot of how it works at home, get about 20 large rubber bands and put your hands inside of them. Then try to slow clap. Now imagine you're putting those 20 large rubber bands around every single part of your body and trying to move a limb in one direction or another. In a nutshell, it is hard as f***. This studio is bomb - parking is a bit of a tear, but there's plenty of metered space out front. The instructors are all great, although I usually stuck with Kristi because she was so good at giving me modifications when she saw I was struggling (and I struggled...a lot). Moved away from the area, otherwise I'd still be going; I'm a huge fan! I've been reading some of the one-star comments and I don't think some of them are fair (you can't find their parking lot, so 1 star because you didn't just park out front; is that worth dinging their business over?), but I can honestly say I never had a bad experience (OK, OK, all of them have been "bad"..."awful," even, but that's because I am incredibly out of shape and have poor flexibility - until taking their classes for a few months and I could (drumroll) touch my toes! And do a friggin downward facing dog on a reformer! And all sorts of cool stuff! I'm a fan! Try them and you will be too! read more

Not sure why I haven't reviewed Pilates Platinum yet, especially since they just sent an email congratulating me on my one year anniversary. So, apparently it was just over a year ago that my friend suggested I take advantage of the free first class and give Pilates a try. I signed up for Ricky's class and vividly remember walking out thinking "Nope, too hard, never going back." Call me a masochist, but the intense level of soreness I felt for the few days following became an addiction for me, and still is to this day. Every class works different muscles so that sore/accomplished feeling just keeps on coming, and I can't get enough. There was a six month period in there where I was injured and Heather let me put a hold on the classes I hadn't used until I came back. The customer service is top notch. That first class back after the break was rough, but I already feel myself getting stronger and leaner with every trip back. All of the instructors are helpful with modifications and are encouraging when you feel like you can't do one more rep. One day I hope to be able to get through a class without stopping. It's challenging and the payoff starts quick. Group classes aren't for everyone, but there is something about the energy in this studio - you can be simultaneously motivated by the other people in the room and still in your own world. It's also the first workout I've done where I might feel like I'm failing, but the results paint a different picture. Worth the cost and the effort. If you go to the early morning classes, there is free street parking off of Delongpre, just east of Highland. I have actually never had to park in the dedicated lot. Do yourself a favor and give Pilates Platinum one class to grab you. Apparently, they have changed it to $10 for the first class, which is still way worth it. I haven't tried other types of Pilates, but I've heard the megaformer doesn't even compare to mat or regular reformer machines. It dominates. Grab some grippy socks and go! read more

I've tried out multiple pilates and Lagree studios around LA through ClassPass before settling on Pilates Platinum as my favorite. It's a tough workout every time and I always feel a good burn the day after (which is the best part, right?)! The instructors are always helpful and nice, unlike other studios where the instructors only seem to have time for their regulars. I appreciate an instructor who takes time to correct my form and offers options for increasing or decreasing the intensity. The class size and layout of the Hollywood studio is ideal, everyone has a spot in front of the mirror and there are not too many machines so the instructor can keep an eye on everyone. Plus they have a free parking lot and lots of metered parking outside for the evening classes. What's not to love? read more

Fan of all things spx/lagree fitness. Been lucky enough to have tried all sorts of fitness classes like pure barre, cardio barre, kickboxing, spin, crossfit, p90, insanity etc but spx (in combo with cardio) has given me the results most women seek In a short and focused amount of time. I'd say you should be able to see some significant results by your 12th class assuming you are eating healthy. Most see thinner limbs in the first few weeks, thinner waist and increased strength and flexibility. This workout is hard but don't give up. Persistence and hard work with a healthy diet and some cardio will get you your results! If you have been looking for a focused, effective and addicting workout to whip those curves into shape, give this workout a try. read more

The machines , the classes are great and the most important thing is that I'm already starting seeing results in my body. I feel my core is stronger and my arms are more tone.
