This was my first time trying out Pilates! It was so much fun! I love the studio and the location had parking in the back and also street parking. I'm used to studios having showers so leaving in my sweat clothes isn't ideal for me but it's not deal breaker. Our instructor was great! She was subbing for the main teacher but she did great. Easy to follow and she made sure to call out cues clearly through her headset. I will say i want to come back and try the reformer next. I took my first reformer class with Anna and had such an amazing experience! The studio is super clean and the class sizes are small, which made it feel really comfortable and personal. Anna was incredibly encouraging, patient, and attentive throughout the entire class. She took the time to make sure everyone felt supported and offered modifications so I could adjust the exercises while building my strength over time. I loved the class so much that I ended up getting a membership--even though I live 30 minutes away! That's how good it was. I have never written a bad review in my entire life - by far the worst Pilates place I've ever been to. I really wanted to take a mat class so idk how their reformer classes are but on a Tuesday, the instructor teaching reformer was incredibly rude and entitled it left a bad taste in my mouth before I even made it my class I almost left. Idk if she thought I was being weird or creepy which is insane, but I was confused about how to get in since there are no directions on classpass about going through an alleyway - I had to figure it out without her help. Luckily my instructor was amazing that day and teaching a new format that day which as a sculpt instructor and 200 hr yoga certified teacher I know is hard! read more

I'm athletic, but new to reformer pilates and it was a great way to get comfortable with the machine while still getting a good workout in. The staff is super friendly and helpful. First class for 25$. I tried the beginner class . It was enough challenging but not too hard . Will sign up for 5 pack class.

From the time I walked in it was such welcoming vibes with the energy to support in all capacities. I forgot my grip socks but there were a variety of options available for purchase although Amazon has them for a better price but for convenience it's great. Parking was easy and free which is a huge plus in LA. I attended the hot Pilates class and the instructor was really amazing. I had a really great workout with her and would definitely sign up for another. I was under the impression we would be on the reformer but it was a hot mat class. I loved that they had a variety of class times and options. It was an aesthetically pleasing interior with mini locker spaces and gender neutral restrooms. As well as clean. After the workout, the instructor gave us wipes to sanitize everything we touched and used. If the parking lot had a charge station I would try to give a bonus star. The front desk attendant was spectacular! She was so warm and welcoming as well as very informative about Pilates in general. read more

Disclaimer: This is not about the instructors--Lexi, Jess, and Gregory are excellent--but about the lack of transparency and flexibility in class policies. I purchased an unlimited pass while pregnant assuming I could access all classes to fit my work schedule. Mid-cycle, I was unexpectedly told I needed a doctor's note and could no longer attend many classes. Other studios allow full access with trainer modifications, so this was a surprise. Since I couldn't use the unlimited plan as intended, I requested to downgrade one tier, or alternatively join beginner mat classes with modifications, or receive a make-up session. Instead, I was met with rigid enforcement of a 30-day notice policy I was never informed of. I'm left extremely disappointed by the lack of flexibility, care, or effort to resolve the situation. read more

I had been searching for a Mat Pilates class for a while near me, and then I finally came across Pilatesmith in Culver City. I went to one of their Heated Mat classes (taught by Greg, who was a great instructor) and I really enjoyed this class! It was challenging and fun. I was sore the next day and that's what it's all about for me! The studio is nicely appointed and has 3 different areas for classes. The heated class was warm (not hot). They had a lot of nice equipment for the Mat class. Parking on the street was really easy for me. I noticed once I got to the studio there's also a small parking lot in the back. But street parking was ample. I can definitely see myself coming back and trying other classes. read more

Really loved the studio! It had a good vibe/atmosphere and everyone who worked there was very friendly. I had never used the chair before so that was fun and new. The instructor was very descriptive in her verbal cues, so much so that I did not need to look at her demonstrations. I liked the music too! I saw this studio was on Classpass and really nearby my home, so I had to check it out. I'm a huge fan of lagree and oftentimes feel that regular pilates classes are not challenging enough, so I signed up for Tempo Pilates class with Genevieve...that WRECKED me! I was definitely feeling the burn and I loved that we were using heavier springs. Genevieve was also a great instructor -- very attentive, great energy, gave great corrections, and made sure everyone was challenged. I also loved her playlist! We need more hype bad b**** playlists like hers because I truly feel like a pilates princess lol! read more

As a beginner (only been on a reformer a few times), the Novice Class with Anna was great! Her energy was incredible, music was awesome, and I liked the personal attention she was able to give in the smaller class setting. I would 100% take this class again and recommend this studio for both reformer and mat pilates. I first heard about Pilatesmith from my friends who frequent the Santa Monica location. After seeing the new Culver studio pop up on ClassPass, I decided to give it a try! I took the Heated Mat Pilates class with Carla last night. The class was advertised as Int/Adv level and I thought the difficulty was perfect. I was a bit nervous about the heated aspect, but it ended up being a really comfortable temperature! The energy was a bit lower than I expected compared to my usual Lagree classes, but it was a great workout nonetheless. The studio itself was beautiful as well, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the reformer classes in the future! read more
