Came to this studio for the first time recently and loved it! I will say it was definitely a challenge and the class worked out different muscle groups. Intentional workout and intense in its own way. It was quite fun and ended up buying a pack of classes! Joined Emily's class and she was friendly and sweet! Appreciated that she gave me insight prior to the class and checked in after class as well. The staff are all friendly and loved how clean the studio was. They do sell grip socks if you don't have any or forgot some! read more

I would highly recommend the studio MDR, I'm obsessed! I was brand new to Lagree and started with the 2 week promo doing the Essentials classes and got hooked and signed up for the unlimited. The staff and coaches are the best! I've taken most of my classes at Playa Vista with Lindsey, Michelle, Samarah, Marissa(East), Megan, Jodi, Stephanie. Special shout out to Michelle for the playlist/vibes and Lindsey for the mental game. I have learned something new from each of these coaches and they do a really good job of reminding you / showing you the proper form or where you should be feeling an exercise. I would say the essentials was really helpful for getting introduced to the practice and proper form. There is an assistant coach in each of the essentials classes who model the exercise and walk around to help with your form. Shout out to Mona and Katya. It's also such a sweet treat to run into them and other coaches in the total body classes. read more

I love MDR Studio and have been taking classes here for over a year now. At first, the Megaformer was really tough and challenging for me, but now it's a core part of my workout routine. I wanted to build a stronger core, but I wasn't able to get into abs and upper body strength training on my own. Regular Pilates was relaxing but didn't make my core any stronger. When I started at MDR Studio, the first five classes didn't feel low-impact at all. Megaformer is heavy and puts a lot of pressure on your wrists. It took some time to get used to, but as my arm strength improved, the wrist discomfort went away. My abs are much stronger now, and my lower back pain has improved too. If you want to level up from basic Pilates, I strongly recommend MDR Studio. read more

Playa location is the first location I started Pilates period at. When my friend introduced me to the studio, I thought she was trying to end our friendship. LOL! It was the most low intense but hard workout I ever experienced. Who knew I would still be here 3 years later. I love the results. Every instructor is so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend. read more

I've never been a Pilates girl, but I started taking these lagree classes in March after moving to the area and am really loving it! I've been working out consistently for over 20 years and this is the first workout class where I'm not watching the clock the whole time. Highly recommend Studio MDR! read more

I been a client / client for 3.5 years. I attended classes 3-4 times week. Yesterday was the last time I take a class at the studio MDR. I Love the instructors the music and the people but the routines have changed significantly. Don't get me wrong It has always been a challenging but doable. I noticed for the past 6 months the routines have gotten even more challenging (yes it is possible) to the point I was feeling the muscle fatigue and constant injuries from wrist, shoulders, neck and knees. It was a bitter sweet decision but I just felt hurting myself more than often maybe isn't ideal. Anyhow below are my pros and cons 1. Friendly staff 2. Awesome instructor's 3.Super early classes 4. Great music 5. Clean equipment 6. Instructors are always walking around to make sure everyone is participating Cons 1. Classes are pricy 2. Sometimes your favorite instructor move on 3. Routines are ridiculous overly challenging. To the point you might hurt yourself. In my opinion. Like I said everyone is different 4. Switching classes same day will cost you 15.00 fee 5. There is a few to cancel a class life happens I think if one already paid for the class the spot has been paid for so why are they charging. Anyhow this studio is not for me anymore. Thank you mdr for introducing me to Pilates. read more

I love Studio MDR Playa Vista studio so much. I genuinely look forward to my class every morning -- it's become the best part of my day. The entire team is so welcoming and kind, and the instructors are truly incredible. The classes are challenging in the best way -- you leave feeling stronger every single time. The playlists are always perfect and keep you motivated throughout the workout. I've seen such an amazing body transformation over the past few months. "Look it, Feel it, Live it" - that is the motto. Take these classes and you will see results! Location and Vibe: The Playa Vista location is my favorite studio not only because it offers free parking, but also because of its awesome instructors, dedicated staff and overall vibe. Welcoming front desk and awesome instructors: As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by people like Lauren or Justice who go out of their way to provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere. It is apparent that the owner, Lisa, puts a tremendous amount of effort into the business to ensure clients are satisfied/challenged by the constantly evolving classes (particularly those designed by the one and only, Justin Jairam!). Below please see my pic with Justin - Justin is truly an asset to the Studio MDR Community - we are twinning with the curly hair! This photo was taken after I completed his class. If you are new to the studio, you should definitely take a class with Justin, Svetlana, Samarah, Prima, or Stephanie - there are many great instructors to learn from - you can't go wrong. Friendly, competitive environment: I completed over 14 classes as part of the summer challenge and feel considerably stronger as a result. Classes are challenging, but there are modifications for every move and there is no pressure to try to be like anyone else - you are encouraged to do what feels right for your body. Thanks to everyone who helps make this Studio MDR a first class experience! read more

Best Lagree Studio! MDR will have you right! Every class is a challenge but a good challenge. Love love love

Best decision I ever made was the monthly pass here. Recommend taking Steph's classes!

Great studio. Parking is easy (always street parking available). The workouts are challenging my manageable and most instructors offer advancements or modifications. The springs help to lessen the tension on joints and its one of the few workouts that I feel work muscles that I don't normally use. read more

I've been coming to The Studio for around 2 years and it has been such an incredible experience. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. I have not only gotten so much stronger physically but mentally. I brought my husband when I first started because he had consistent back pain from a bulging disc. I convinced him to do this in order to strengthen his core and see if it would help. We were trying massages and acupuncture and while they worked short term the back pain never really went away for good. I am ecstatic to share that ever since he started coming consistently to The Studio he has seen tremendous improvement and is living pain free now!! Aside from that ... we love going skiing and have noticed our stamina has been so much better. I'm sure a lot of sports benefit from this type of exercise! I am so thankful for the studio and all the amazing instructors we have encountered!! Shout out to Lindsay, Steph, Samarah and Jodi to name a few! read more

Tried my first pilates class today at The Studio! First off, I'm not totally sure about the parking situation but I was able to secure a 2 hr parking spot on Millenium dr, you might have to park in the garage if those aren't available. I was immediately welcomed with a smile coming in by the girl at the front desk and the instructor as well. She gave me a run-through of the reformer before class. Class was KILLER. I thought that being a weightlifter would give me a leg up but NOPE, no leg up at all LOL. Had to take so many breaks during the 45 mins but still had a lot of fun. You'll work out your entire body so be prepared! Also, the classroom is very cute and aesthetically pleasing, just a side note!! read more

I've been coming to the Studio (MDR), specifically in Playa Vista, since last Spring. I cannot recommend this studio enough! It is the only workout that has kept me coming consistently, and people remark on how toned I've gotten all the time. All the teachers are fantastic, and I think I've taken a class from most of them by now! They always offer modifications and advancements, so any level student can feel safe yet challenged. I'm now trying some advancements, which is pretty exciting for me. The front desk staff is always super friendly and helpful! They remember your name, which makes it super easy to check in for class. I recently thought I left my phone at the studio, and the front desk staff and the studio manager Gio helped me look for it, even calling my phone to see if we could hear it ring. Turns out, I left it at home ... I used to work at a cycling studio, so I know a lot of what goes on behind the scenes at workout studios, and I can confidently say that The Studio (MDR) in Playa Vista keeps everything clean and in order! I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so this is really important to me. It's the reason I don't like most gyms -- not clean enough! Thankfully, I don't have to worry about this at the Studio(MDR). The room is always very clean. The front desk staff hands out antibacterial wipes near the end of every class, so everyone can wipe down their machines. The cleaning wipes are always available in the room as well in case you want to wipe down the machine beforehand too for that extra squeaky clean feel! I also recently convinced my boyfriend to try a class for the first time, and he loved it -- though in full disclosure, he was pretty wobbly afterwards lol. He told me I was a superhero for doing these workouts all the time. The front desk staff made him feel very welcome , and the instructor gave him a full run down of the megaformer and personalized attention throughout class to make sure he was doing each move correctly. Overall, I highly recommend the Studio(MDR) in Playa Vista to anyone looking for a challenging, low impact workout where the staff is super friendly and the studio space is sparkling clean! read more

Sometimes you don't realize how good you have it until you don't. I was a student at Studio MDR for almost 8yrs and recently moved away. The level of excellence of instructors, class plan, format, studio etc... cannot be overstated. Wow, really miss this place. I am incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to study this practice with talented, capable, experienced instructors like Stephanie Nuno. Now even with taking classes with less experienced instructors I can practice with good form and the right slow timing. So THANK YOU Studio MDR for getting me setup for success even when I can no longer take classes at the studio. read more

I've been doing Lagree Pilates here for over two years. It's hands down one of the most challenging workouts out there. Once I reached my 50s, I began to lose muscle strength relatively quickly. MDR has significantly increased my strength, making physical tasks much more manageable. Not to mention it's excellent for the joints after my three hip surgeries. I've been to almost every studio, and all the instructors are top-notch. You have to book a couple of weeks in advance as the studios fill up quickly, but having several studios close by helps. read more

Nancy is very rude. I felt very discriminated by her. I've attended many Pilates studios and have never been spoken to and treated this poorly.
