I have been taking classes here at Archer Pilates and I love it! They are super knowledgeable. I love how they walk around and correct your form so you get the best workout/stretch. I personally like the advanced class because it challenges my entire body. My abs and glutes are sore the next day. Best feeling read more

I started coming to Archer Pilates in December. I am beginner and have been taking there Form and Precision class and once in a while Stretch and Sculpt. I have always wanted to take Pilates but couldn't find a studio with the right hours. So I found them on the Mind body app. So long story short I'm glad I found them and enjoy this studio. All the instructors are knowledgeable and want people to get the form down to get the most out of Pilates. It's all about control, precision and form. I highly recommend the studio to everyone that wants to start there journey and keep practicing. read more

I used to go to a studio in Mar Vista and I wanted something closer. I started coming to Archer Pilates in their previous locations during Covid. I've been doing Pilates (1-3 days a week) for almost 20 years now. I've probably been to over 10 studios during that time. Once I started coming to Archer Pilates, I can honestly say they have the best instructors I've ever had. I am now a regular of theirs since 2020 I think and I attend 4-5 classes per week!!! Their pricing is extremely valuable for the quality of their classes, patience and kindness of the instructors and their gorgeous new studio! Melanie the owner is amazing. Kat has a special place in my heart. Ashley is a rockstar. Jen is incredible. If you haven't done Pilates before, this is a great studio to go to. Many of the "trendy" studios seem great but they don't focus on you making sure your form is right. If your form isn't right, trust me, you can really hurt yourself. This studio really cares about each person that walks thru their door. read more

This was my first time doing Pilates and I loved it. The class is small and intimate(there were only 6 people in mine) which makes it perfect for newbies to get the attention and time they need. They are 45 minute classes, with 5 minutes of stretching at the end. read more

The owner of Archer Pilates did not allow me to try their product for their $110 offer, when I had never stepped into their studio, but had previously bought an unused package. The owner answered the phone, and her tone was rude. She talked over me, assuming I was asking her to credit me the unused and expired funds I had paid. Instead of apologizing for being wrong and thinking I was asking her to credit my lost purchases, she rudely stated she would not allow me to trial their program with their current offer of $110.00. That's bad business, and if she is that rude to me, I have no doubt she has been rude to others, and karma will get her back. read more

Such an amazing Pilates Studio!!! All the instructors are great, welcoming, and attentive. I am new to Pilates and am taking there beginners class (form and precision) and it's been great. Taught me new things. Staff is welcoming and the people taking the classes with me are wonderful! read more

I just started coming here a few weeks ago and extremely happy with the classes. Being a beginner, it can be a little overwhelming. They take you step by step throughout the whole class. Very impressed with the attention they give each person in the class. Melanie and Kat are both excellent instructions. I wish I would have come here sooner. read more

I'm so grateful to Melanie and Kathleen that during this horrible days of uncertainty, they were able to teach Pilates in a safe way. Always attentive, wonderful teachers and kept the studio impeccable clean. We all wore masks, gloves and socks during class. The studio is well ventilated. Even though I've been to the Archer Pilates Studio several times, technically speaking I've only attended one pole class taught by Melanie of Archer Pilates. (side note: I think pole classes taught by Rebekah falls under the business PoleMoves http://www.yelp.com/biz/polemoves-los-angeles#hrid:kaUcTa3UMlrlQZxrzvDO0Q ) I'm not gonna lie, I went into Archer Pilates with a bit of pole snobbery having been taking pole consistently for the previous 5 or months or so. But I wanted to take a class with Mary C. and this was her very first time taking pole. I was curious to see how our instructor would handle balancing the lesson plan between the two skill levels. Like any good beginner pole class, Melanie started with the basic fireman spin. Melanie worked with Mary on her first spin and after the instructor got Mary practicing on her own, Melanie began assessing what spins I knew. She quickly found one trick that I had yet to know but it was simple enough for my muscle strength ...or lack thereof ;P Mary learned how to spin on the pole and I learned a new trick. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when I learn something new in pole class! Pole studios that adjust their class instruction per the students skill levels are WAY better than studios that worry about having to go through the class "levels." It makes me feel like they truly care about teaching their students. I was very pleased with Melanie as an instructor. Plus, it was a total BONUS that Mary and I were the only ones in the class so we had a semi-private lesson! :D The reason we only took the one class was because Mary and I switched to attending classes on a different night taught by Rebekah of PoleMoves, but classes are still held at Archer Pilates. read more

Amazing Pilates Studio, very professional team. One of the best Pilates studios I ever tried in west LA.

This Pilates studio rocks! Staff is awesome, they genuinely care about each and every client. The studio itself is immaculately clean. Good selection of classes for every level. I took some semi private lessons that helped me to learn the basics. Well worth the investment. Archer Pilates is the place you want to be for this particular form of exercise. Check it out!! read more

I have slight scoliosis and about a month ago hurt my back, so I looked into something to help me with that and found this place, a place that understands how to work with scoliosis. I am taking private lessons with Cat and Jennifer and they are both EXCELLENT instructors. The 2 of them helping me strengthen my body has resulted in me having less back pain. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

I scheduled online with a Groupon and showed up 15 minutes early as requested. The substitute could not find a waiver and the owner was not texting her back. The rest of the class was waiting and it was already well past the hour. The substitute was polite and professional; we agreed that I should not take class without the waiver. When I contacted the owner she was rude, claiming that I simply left and the instructor had the waiver as I was walking out the door. Not true --I was in the hallway for quite some time putting on shoes and texting and no brought out any waivers, nor should they have interrupted an already late class. I would not do business with this establishment. read more

I have mixed feelings about Archer Pilates. I took quite a few classes here and found it to be very enjoyable. I had about 4 different instructors over a 3 month period and all were very good. I found the instructors to be very knowledgeable and very pleasant Management/Owner on the over hand I found to be abrasive and short. Not accommodating at all. Pilates classes are not cheap which makes it even harder to give Archer Pilates any more of my business. read more

Given all of the comments here regarding the cancellation policy I wanted to post that I agree with the attitude of an older post - that it is strict but it holds you accountable (which, frankly, is a good thing). Whether you like it or not it is stated in their terms and conditions which we agree to when booking. It does make you a responsible and keeps you coming. My life, like many, is chaotic and I've decided that Archer's is better for me physically AND in helping to discipline my personal planning & time management. That said - it's difficult to suddenly reboot your life in a short timeframe - so I have paid for a couple cancellations & forfeited a few classes on my 6 month pass (when I'm not able to use all 12 classes in the 30 day periods). Ultimately, it will be up to me if I can make it all work on my "senior" fixed income budget. P.S. I do empathize with those who've been jolted when they experience the "double dipping" late cancellation charge (that I do not like). But, it goes too far to threaten small claims court (for $15 - really?) or BBB. You have no grounds except that you don't like their terms. The way to take action is to find another, more flexible studio that meets your needs. It's definitely a reminder to read ALL agreements thoroughly before committing. read more

Yes! I've found my great love. My real love. My ridiculous, En-lightning, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love. This love is so great that I am willing to block out time on my busy schedule to go and workout for myself!!! Finally, I realize how important it is to make time for me. :) Archer Pilates is not only a workout, it is a lifestyle. I cannot say enough good things about this exercise regimen combining yoga, pilates, ballet, and isometric movements. It sculpts your entire body into the epitome of a woman's body - that of a lean, long ballerina. I can't wait to see all my results! Curvy? Yes, I am! Curvy & Toned here I come!!! Fella's look out....tsssssss! I booked "private sessions" with Melanie (the owner) she is so amazing! I highly suggest you book a privates before you throw yourself into a class. Melanie really focuses on you. You can buy a package of them. Melanie really paid close attention to my injuries and made me feel so comfortable. She did all kinds of adjustments on the machine so that my poor broken back wouldn't kill me after. This ultimate graceful body comes with work! You have to be ready and willing to want this! The classes are quite reasonable & they offer unlimited sessions.. To add to this madness, everyone who takes the class is hot and decked out in adorable workout attire head to toe. The workouts are extremely difficult and make me want to cry out in anguish every time. It is well worth it!!!!! I love it! I walk out feeling strong and energized!!! This studio is beautiful, gorgeous hardwood floors, beautiful art, great energizing colors on the walls and fantastic music!! The staff is super professional and helpful. Pole Dancing!! What? That is right a pilates studio with Pole Dancing!!!! Need I say more?.... Want to feel sexy? Build your self esteem, I highly suggest taking these classes. I am now taking pole dancing classes here & the instructors are the bomb! I love the music they play and the energy and motivation I feel when I am in class, doesn't feel like a workout feels like a night out dancing with my girls!!!!! LOVE IT!! You say I'm crazy? I got your crazy, but even my friends are starting to comment on my body! What a good feeling! 2 Thumbs up for Archer Pilates! I love this place read more

I just finished a two week groupon at archer pilates. Overall I had a good experience there, and it was my first time taking reformer pilates. The instructors are nice and knowledgeable about how to safely use the reformer machine. You have to be pretty careful getting into some of the positions because if you lost your balance/slipped you could get hurt, so you just need to take it easy when you're getting used to it. I do think that the classes are a bit over priced, but if you can get a deal or groupon, or buy a package it's more affordable. I likely wouldn't buy another package because they have the most strict cancellation policy I have ever experienced, and I've worked out at 15-20 studios around LA over the years. You have to cancel 24 hours in advance, and if you cancel with 24 hours you get charged $15. I've heard of losing a day or a class, but not getting charged on top of it. It's too hard for me to know if my schedule is going to change 24 hrs out and I would hate to spend money on classes I'm not taking. But, I'd say give it a try if you're interested in reformer pilates....on a side note, I got a pamphlet from them and the pole dancing was crossed out so not sure they do it anymore. I think it's just pilates/zumba now. One last thing, Melanie's Advanced class is the hardest class I've ever taken, so if you're looking to really challenge yourself and take pilates to the next level, try her class out. read more

I've been a client here for a little over a month. I think this is a great studio with quality teachers and friendly students. Those are the things that really matter about a studio experience. Yes, the cancellation policy is strict. It's similar to the policy at another studio where I also go. I find that the policy has held me accountable and kept me motivated to come to class even on those days when I think I'm not feeling it. I have not late cancelled once in the entire time I've been going to this studio. I've pushed myself and made it there. This studio has typical mixed level reformer classes as well as more unconventional classes like jumpboard and high intensity Pilates. The variety of class theme is nice. Every class starts with a mat session of about ten minutes. As someone who normally only takes reformer classes, this is nice because it gets me exposed to mat regularly, which helps my practice. The reformers here are Stott. Your classes may use props like the magic circle, the ball, the bar that you put through the straps, hand weights, or ankle cuff. This is challenging but fun, and occasionally a nice contrast to the classic style. read more

Outstanding instruction, fun and professional instructors and great physical results in a short period of time for me! Highly recommended

I have been coming here for just under 6 months and love it. The owner and instructors are great, they really pay attention to each clients individual needs and injuries and adapt exercises accordingly. The clients that come to the studio are great as well, so you really get a good sense of community and its nice to get to know the people that you workout with each week. The studio was recently remodeled and very bright and open, I love the reformers they use since I am tall, they work much better for me than most places. I would highly recommend this studio for experienced Pilates people and especially for someone completely new to Pilates since you get that personal attention that is so important when learning. They keep the class sizes small unlike most studios which have 10+ clients in a class so those instructor cannot keep an eye on everyone's form. I can not emphasize more how great the personal attention is at Archer, so if you are looking for a studio where you can really build a great body and/or heal an injury AND look forward to going to over and over, than I would highly recommend Archer Pilates & Wellness! read more

It was my first time pole dancing last night. My coworker brought me here to try this, and it was a lot of fun. The instructor was very nice, and she made the experience very pleasant!! I do not understand the negative reviews for Archer Pilates! I have been taking private lessons since I got pregnant when I needed a low impact way to stay active and in-shape. I am now 36 weeks pregnant and still going strong! My sessions are with Melanie who I LOVE. She's honest, direct, and always helps me on my form (which I so appreciate.) I know some people probably want to fade into the background of a group class- but if you are pregnant, have an injury, or are new to pilates, I would highly encourage you to take as many private lessons as you can afford! Getting your form down helps make even the smallest movements BURN and the burn means it's working!! :) By the way, I've seen two other girls for sessions when Melanie was sick, or when I had a work conflict, and everyone I've worked with at Archer is awesome. Also, the facility is clean + airy, and I could not be happier with my experience so far! read more

I live in OC, but went with a friend one Friday to the Ladies Night Pole Party and had a blast! I had always wanted to take a pole class and this was a great way to get started. I am now totally hooked...absolutely LOVED it! I had never heard of Archer prior to the night out with my friend so I didn't realize it was a Pilates studio until after the fact. I had done mat Pilates before, but had never taken a reformer class, so a few weeks later I went back for one of those, and again - AWESOME! I'm a part-time personal trainer and I love fitness so I spend a lot of time in the gym, but it was great to get out of my routine and learn new things. Both times I left the studio feeling revived with just an overall happy good mood going on. Definitely recommend. read more

I love Archer Pilates! I have been going here consistently for eight years. I started Pilates to help with my back pain and it was the cure for me. If I don't go for a few weeks, I start to feel it in my back. I have taken pilates classes at a few other places, but Archer is still my favorite. The instructors are all top notch. They know your level and will adjust their classes based upon who is taking them. Melanie is a master Pilates instructor teacher so nearly all of the instructors have been trained by her (and most of them were students first which speaks volumes). The studio is small and therefore it feels intimate. Additionally, they have periodic fitness challenges which makes it fun and incentivizes me to attend even when I'm busy! Definitely give Archer a try. You won't regret it! read more

It's sad after experiencing a cutting edge Pilates class like studio mdr, pop, or exhale and then coming here. As much as I would like to support small local studios, this was simply painful. First off, no one answers the phone. Second, class started late and the jazz teacher literally wouldn't stop until the Pilates teacher yelled at her and turned off her music for her- mid song and dancing and all. Akward. The Pilates teacher then continued to bombard the Jazz teacher on why she is required to make her students sign liability waiver at the beginning. They obviously didn't get along. Ready to work out? The teacher wore shorts- so she can't get in positions herself. She also announced she was called in last minute to teach. I got the vibe she'd rather be somewhere else- actually, anywhere else. Her lack of excitement to teach this class made me want to run before we started- that would have at least been a good workout. No music. This is Pilates. I need music. The instructor had a Yoga like calming tone. Ughhhh Someone asked a question. "Ssssssshhhhhhh...." Says the instructor. I literally was counting the reps until I was out of this class. The other students were out of shape, and the class was not in any way a challenge. Thankfully I rode my bike there, giving me twice the workout of the class, and providing a far more positive environment to carry on with a more positive start to my day than this class. read more

I typically wouldn't take the time or energy to speak negatively about a business unless it was really awful. After placing 10+ phone calls and voicemails for the owner/management over the past 2 weeks, and not receiving even a phone call back, I'm resorting to this which is totally not my style. Archer Pilates customer service is unacceptable and I would not recommend it to anyone. I have 2 main issues with Archer Pilates. First, I had a Groupon for 12 classes which a staff member added to my MindBody account, however, I could never pre-register for the classes or see them in my account. This may have been a glitch in Archer's system or MindBody, but they never took the time to correct the issue. Instead, each time I showed up for class, I'd just sign in at the front. I never knew how many classes I had remaining or when they would expire. I had an injury that kept me out of classes for a few weeks. The last time I showed up for class, I signed in at the front and took the class. On my way out, the staff told me I had to pay for that class because my Groupon expired and I forfeited my remaining classes. This was news to me because of the aforementioned issue with the system, which they were also aware of since I was never able to pre-register for a class and I told them this on many occasions as well. They charged my card on file and told me to take it up with Groupon, which I did. Groupon told me that when the Groupon expires, the amount paid for the Groupon must still be honored by the merchant. I relayed this to Archer Pilates, and they said someone would call me back by the end of the day. This was WEEKS ago. I called over 10 times - each time someone took a message or I left a voicemail but absolutely NO response. What type of customer service is this?? The second issue I have is with the actual classes here. I've tried 3-4 other pilates studios in the LA area. Archer's tries to be inclusive but it is actually very cliquey - this is in part due to a couple of staff members who are also instructors, who take class with other students. In the last class I took, the off-duty instructor was chatting with the instructor leading the class 50% of the time. They were making inside jokes, talking about how hard other instructors classes were, and overall having a conversation over the course of a workout that is supposed to encourage students to connect mind and body. This was so unprofessional, distracting, and generally odd. I felt like I showed up at a friends gym to do a casual workout while chatting about how our week is going. I've taken many classes at Archer's and not all of them have been to this level, but the interaction between staff and instructors is such that it makes student feel out of place when they've signed up to take a professionally-led pilates class. read more

After reading the bad reviews, I thought I should post my own. I had quite a bit of difficulty getting started with my Living Social deal, all due to MY OWN errors....showing up for class at the wrong time, forgetting my voucher, etc. etc. But Melanie was very patient with me and when i finally got it together I ended up really enjoying her pilates group classes and decided to sign up as a regular. I've recently been having a lot of fun with the Jump Board class as well. Not sure what other reviewers mean by this place being dark, dingy and dirty. Not at all true. The bathroom is white and shiny, the machines are clean and in good working order...in fact, we all clean them at the end of each class. The other students are friendly and the music is good. A generally good vibin' place. A lot of people only post when they are unhappy with a place. I think many folks don't read the fine print on these Living Social Deals, so they take it out on nice people like Melanie when they don't get what they want. Ouch. I personally give Archer Pilates a big thumbs up and will continue going. Nice, small class size and lots of personal attention! read more

Melanie, the owner of Archer Pilates, is fabulous. I've been coming to her studio for the past 5 years since rupturing a disc in my lumbar spine (L5-S1). When I first started doing Pilates I was miserably inflexible and after three kids couldn't even feel, let alone isolate, any of my deep abdominal muscles. What a difference Pilates has made in my life! Melanie understands how to protect you from reinjuring yourself, while still getting a great workout. Equally important, she will help you to get strong and healthy so you prevent injury in the first place! All of the instructors are very good. Melanie is trained to certify Pilates instructors and has trained most if not all of her instructors....this is terrific for 'quality control' and guarantees that you will get the same high standard from any classes you take. Finally, Melanie recently remodeled the studio and it's now very open and filled with light. Love it and am very grateful to her and Archer Pilates! read more

IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS FROM THE LIVING SOCIAL/GROUPON JUNKIES! I've noticed several 1 star reviews for Archer Pilates which is baffling to me. But then I noticed that they are mostly from the seasoned "I only work out with Groupon or Living Social coupons" folks. IGNORE THOSE REVIEWS. I've been going to Archer Pilates (consistently) for almost 2 years now and it's great. You will get a serious workout and you will see results. I am a mom of two young kids and my body has gotten stronger and more toned. Prior to Archer Pilates I was taking Pilates at Equinox. I still belong to Equinox but I take all my Pilates at Archer Pilates. Equinox has a fancier studio but my workout at Archer Pilates was 100x better. Melanie (the owner) really cares about form to ensure you are doing it right; getting the most from your workout while preventing injuries! Yes, she does have a policy that you must submit your online deal Web site coupon but this is standard at EVERY OTHER business I've ever been to--it's not some unusual policy the owner has set up. If you are serious about your exercise/Pilates then heed the 4 & 5 star reviews only. read more

Archer Pilates has been my favorite workout hands down! I did power yoga for years and never seen the same results as I do with Pilates. I've always been active, but have always hated doing core work and mat Pilates. I decided to give Pilates another shot after I found a deal at Archer through Groupon. Now that I've taken privates and classes at Archer, I love Pilates! It works muscles that I don't always work out when I'm lifting weights and it's a perfect complement to my 3x a week strength training sessions at Equinox. Archer has helped me start to shape a more feminine body and strengthen my core. I love the boutique style studio because the classes are always small, which allows for more personal attention from the instructors. Melanie and Julia are great instructors! They're so knowledgeable, motivating and I love that they focus on form and really teaching the Pilates principles--which is what I feel truly sets them apart from other studios. Every time I've left a session, I've left feeling amazing knowing that I just got an awesome core and overall body workout! read more
