PupStudioNYC is just truly amazing. First off the aesthetic of the place is fab always clean and orderly (and let's be clear I've gone to check out other groomers and let's just say I hope they do a better job washing pups then their floors). The staff were super friendly and the groomer did a thorough consult before starting. I love the notebook they provide it gives valuable insight that will help to keep your pup healthy. I will definitely be booking again. My one complaint is um I don't think I saw my Ramen's photo posted on your Instagram. I'm going to chalk that up to being so overwhelmed about how stunning you all made him look that you simply couldn't stop looking at the photo and simply forgot to. read more

My puppy Bumi had his first grooming experience at PupStudio and it was beyond amazing! He was super calm with the groomers even though he hates when I give him a bath. My groomer Young gave him the cutest cut and she even went above and beyond accommodating to my requests (using our own medicated shampoo, applying his eardrops, being extra careful around his face since he squirms) The store definitely gives off a luxurious vibe and the front desk team were super nice too! At the end of the visit we received a goodie bag with some dog food/treats and even a grooming binder that shows his progress report. The session took around 2-3 hours which felt long - BUT I don't mind because it feels like they're really taking their time to care for him. Bumi's bath+full grooming was $150 before tax which is pretty standard for Manhattan. Also, everyone on the street compliments on how cute he looks so I'd say it's worth it! They do a really good job. My dog is always fresh, cute, and happy after coming here. They give you a little cute journal, and the staff is friendly. And I'm not the only one happy. I think my dog also has a good experience here, because every time we walk by, she wants to come in and say hi. I have had some minor issues with them in the past, though. One time the groomers were discussing my dog's case in Korean in front of me. I found it a little rude to be walked about in a language I don't speak right on my face. Another time, they didn't do the glans expression they were supposed to do, but never happened again. And lastly, like I said, my dog likes to come in and say hi. She's very sociable, and she does the same thing in the vet a few doors down. Over there, they remember her, they say hi to her, give her treats, etc.. Here, when I say that she just wants to say hi, they almost always immediately lose interest. But I did give them a 5-star review. Overall, those things, while annoyances, don't distract from the fantastic job they do. It's hard to find good groomers, and this is one of them. Now that being said, please don't use my review to make it difficult for me to get appointments here. read more

Pupstudio - Blu looking fabulous after his haircut at Pupstudio - Pet Stores Near Me - New York, New York

Took my cavapoo pup in for his first grooming session. I was really impressed by the astehtics of the studio and how clean the studio was. The staffs were also very friendly. I got a mini-groom. The groomer did a great job cleaning my pups ears and trimming his paws. My pup also came out smelling fresh! I'm giving this a 3.5/5 due to the following: I had specifically asked the groomer not to use a razor on my pup and requested the groomer to use trimming scissors only. However, I did notice it looks like razors were used near my pups forehead/between the eye areas. There were also a few areas that had uneven trims (near the eyes and ears). I went home and fixed it myself. Not a problem but wished I didnt have to put in that extra effort. I also did not get a "grooming booklet" like everyone else mentioned in their review and my groomer didnt say anything when handing me my pup. Would have been nice to know how the grooming session went/ how my pup did as this was his 1st professional grooming experience. read more

Beautiful inside, I thought I was entering a jewelry store at first. The people that work there are wonderful. When I had an issue with my dogs groom they let me go back at no extra charge to "fix" the look. I will definitely be going back! read more

Newly arrived to NYC and my 5.5 month old Labrador had no idea how to potty on the streets here. Needless to say, he needed a bath after a few days walking around on the dirty streets and parks. Pupstudio is fortunately in the area but after our first experience here, I would take a trip from any area in nyc to visit this flawless grooming studio. Welcoming, immaculate, and well trained groomers. Mostly small and medium dogs here, but they expertly handled my 55 lb puppy and took nearly 2 hours to give him their spa treatment where they literally cleaned him from head to toe. Gently scrubbing him in their tubs in the window, they also took him to their back spa rooms where they cut and buffed his nails, cleaned his ears, sparkled his teeth and de shed his fur. He was shining and perfumed and even had a bow around his neck when they returned him to me. As I checked out I was handed a portfolio report card (see photos) that told me how he reacted to each treatment and the condition they found each area they worked on! Can they do humans too? Worth the price and will return but secretly wish they offered a package for loyal repeat customers to buy a series or club membership to make it a bit more affordable priced read more

I was looking for something closer and easier to get to for grooming and I will be back. They were so great and friendly upon entry. We entered and they had an someone come right up to great us and make my dog comfortable. Checking in was easy and seamless. The groomer came out and got on the floor with my dog. Which is what she loves. Asked what I wanted and I offered a picture of a previous cut which they took a picture of on their phone for a reference. She was groomed exactly how the picture I provided. They were exact on their length of time for the appointment as well. When I picked her up she was so happy and calm. You could tell even though she hates baths she had a good time. They do give samples and a notebook to document appointments going forward too. I have a high anxiety dog when it comes to grooming and she seemed comfortable and was made comfortable. I have a very large long haired dog who gets quite anxious about grooming. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place - from how pretty the facility is, to the very sweet front desk lady (manager?) who eased my fears, to how good my dog looks. I'd give them 10 stars if I could! Most of the dogs who come here are sub 20 lbs and I was very anxious myself about how my XL pup would be handled. He came out on time (they also send you a text 15 min beforehand which is so helpful) looking so good and happy! I was shocked how comfortable they made him. They also give you a binder with a report card which is adorable and means they pay good attention to your baby. the pricing might be slightly higher than standard but absolutely worth it for the service they provide. Thank you so much!!! Can't wait to being my dog back and also grab some of the fancy treats they sell. read more

"Fabulous Darling " Interior speaks for itself. It's immaculate and inviting . The bathtubs for our furry babies are best described as a true SPA experience. The staff is welcoming and professional. My groomer greeted me and we discussed the styling as well as my other concerns because my baby was never groomed outside his home. I was immediately as ease. My only regret is that I wish I would have found you sooner. I will return when I come back to NYC. Thank you all. My experience was absolutely fabulous . The dog boutique is a Hugh bonus as well as the personalized book with a photo of your pet. "Fabulous Darling" read more

This place is amazing!!!!! My shi-poo was extremely matted due to her fear of groomers. I decided to give this place a try. Not only were they able to groom her, but she was able to have a cute little stylish cut after the cut down from the matting. They took her picture afterwards and gave her a cute accessory to wear. She also received a journal to keep records of of grooming sessions, her temperament during the session and if or any problems encountered. They were very patient with her giving her breaks when she seemed overwhelmed during her grooming session. This is Mocha's new and only grooming salon. read more

Beware of the undisclosed $30 or more "de-matting" fee. This is on top of a full groom of $150. Also the release they make you sign, although probably unenforceable in my experience as a practicing attorney, should raise serious questions. It is overlybroad and in my experience the result of previous issues in an attrmpt to reduce their exposure to liability. Why do they need so much protection. Do not trust them with your pet. read more

We brought our dog to Pupstudio for a full grooming yesterday. A translator was required so the groomer could understand our requests. We explicitly asked that her female area be groomed with scissors as she has an awful reaction when the shavers are used. Well yesterday was Saturday, and today, Sunday, we spent a good part of the afternoon at the Animal Medical Center. She was obviously groomed with a shaver in the area we requested that scissors be used. The cut was so close that she required pain medicine and an antibiotic spray to relieve her stress. Warm compresses were needed to soothe her because she actually bled. The area is SO raw and irritated. Pupstudio puts on a good show with their pictures, their accessories, and the little fabric collars they put on the dogs. But when your dog needs to go to the Animal Medical Center because of a grooming, a one star rating is too good for Pupstudio. read more

When l left the store, the manager told me the medium size starts at 15 pounds. Based on your response below, it changed to 13 pounds. Feel like customers just being told random number at each time in order to be charged more. Which one is true? read more

I went to this groomer several times, not having experienced others in the past so I had no metric to judge it by. My dog was happy there, that's important. I however was not happy with the customer service nor the cut. It is my understanding that NYC requires (at least) proof of rabies vaccination to be on file for each pet at any groomer. This was not a requirement at pup studio. My dog is a Malshi. Every time he left he looked like a schnauzer or terrier based on his cut. I am a fan of Japanese style / dog grooming aesthetic. But it always makes dogs look like teddy bears, with exaggerated poofs or angular cuts. It's very similar to pup studio results, however it shows no distinction for different breeds. It seems the groomers here know one cut shape, they don't know (or don't care) about the distinction between cuts for specific breeds. The last time we visited, they chided me for not coming in sooner. So I asked them to cut my dogs hair shorter and expressed that I could not afford to pay $210 ($180 plus tip for my 16lb dog) every 6 weeks. They said if he didn't come back in 4 weeks they would not see him. So I asked them to cut his hair shorter. Well, when he was done (6 hours later) his hair was longer than it had ever been after his visits to pup studio. So they left it longer, to prompt me to come back sooner - not appreciated. When checking out, my mother agreed to pay for half of his grooming and asked the front to charge her card for $100. They refused to accept a $100 credit toward treatment and very poorly explained that it would be taxed - reducing the applicable credit toward the total bill. This is understandable because they charge tax, however the way they went about refusing her money was absurd. I have never heard of such a difficult time paying for goods and services. When questioned about their policy, the girl behind the desk began to cry. I feel sorry for her in this regard, but she was completely flippant to start and scoffed at a customer who was offering a partial credit - this is not smart business practice. As I stood there trying to explain that I was ready to pay the delta (my agreed portion with my mother), the girl continued to argue about taxes. Just take the money, we're paying the bill with two cards! It was such an awkward situation, that it drew the attention of non English speaking employees that began to circle the front desk and glare at us. I felt like a true villain. My dog ended up marking a chair in their store area. While I was somewhat embarrassed, I also wondered when they pottied him in the 6 hours leading up to this point. There was a male employee who translated much of the previously mentioned dialogue for us, who then commented on my dogs potty by saying "looks like someone needs training". Well again, when did you last potty my dog?? This place is very conveniently located for me, but I will go well out of my way to avoid it. It's taken me months to say anything because I was so upset over these interactions. I've also found that you can get much better, safer services for far less money. read more
