We have been going here for several years and trust them to watch our dog each time! I love their understanding of dog personalities and know when to move our dog from one side of the fence to the next depending on other dogs there. Lately we have been getting a suite for our dog but when we did the "crate" they let our dog roam the play area because she would just unlock the crate anyway. But it's nice they have a variety of boarding options at different prices to accommodate. My only complaint is the hours. I wish they had longer hours. We have had to go to other places on days that 7:30 am drop off or 6 pm pick up just cannot work for us. As we both travel and business locations are over 30 minutes away, we often cannot leverage Puppingham. I guess I also would like the days not to expire (they used to do this years ago) but I completely understand from a business why they do not want to hold that liability but it would be nice if they lasted at least two months. I often think I'll take our dog more but then end up not being able to because of the hours. Still love coming here when we can! read more

My pup loves coming here for daycare a couple times each week! We've also boarded him twice-- both times for a week-- and he had great experiences. The one star is for the following reasons: 1.) we called and asked the price for our two dogs for boarding. We were told they could be in the same suite for $48 a night. We came up for a temperament test and again I asked about the price for boarding. They said the suite for the two dogs is $48 a night. We get home nine days later and they inform me the $48 a night was per dog, and that nobody charges per suite. (I told the lady on the phone two other places I called charge per suite, and she seemed shocked, but not really the point I was upset about) 2.) we gave instructions to feed the dogs each 2cups twice a day. We gave exact food. They came home with half their food left. Clearly they were not fed what they should have been. 3.) the lady on the phone never once apologized for their mistake, and only offered to half price one of the dogs for the stay. (Even with the discount they were still way higher then the three other boarding facilities I called prior to us boarding them) We feel as though we were taken advantage of and that our dogs were not greatly cared for. Very disappointing being that this place is close to where we live, but will gladly drive further next time read more

Staff is rather rude. If you are not ready to open then don't. There is no need to come to the door and tell me you are not open for 2 more minutes. If I arrive at your business 3 minutes early and decide to get out of the car so doggo can move around there is absolutely no reason to be rude and take the extra time to come unlock the door only to tell me I have to wait 2 minutes. I'm not the kind of person that leaves negative reviews but I feel like it's my responsibility to let other potential customers know what happened to my 4 month puppy. She was boarded there for 4 days and came home completely soaked in urine. Literally her entire white underside was dyed yellow with urine. It took me three baths just to get some out the urine out but her paws and her neck are still yellow. The girls at the front desk knew we were picking her up that day so why wouldn't they at least wash her off? They told us they didn't have time to take her out all the time because she peed so often. Who actually says that?? It was like they knew they screwed up but couldn't care less. So instead of doing they're jobs, they completely neglected her and let her lay in her own urine for days. I am both a pet caretaker and the owner of a business in West County. On Friday, I received a request to retrieve a dog from Puppingham Palace on Saturday. The owners had gone on a trip and had boarded their dog at Puppingham Palace, but they wanted her back before their return. I have walked this dog and picked her up from a different daycare facility a handful of times. I encounter a wide variety of dogs in my side job, but I pride myself on being familiar with the ones I have taken care of before. So, when I brought a dog home and completed the requested tasks as the owners had asked, I wrapped up my visit and left, never thinking I took home the wrong dog. However, this morning (Sunday), I received a message from the owner, revealing that I had been given the wrong dog. I was absolutely shocked and dismayed by this turn of events. As the person entrusted with bringing their dog home, I felt an immense sense of distress in this situation. However, I must defend myself by saying that I didn't anticipate the need to thoroughly inspect a dog from head to toe or rely on the staff to repeatedly verify that I wasn't given the wrong dog. Although the two dogs looked remarkably similar, I firmly believe that is not an excuse. I always assumed there would be a foolproof system in place to prevent such errors from occurring! While I understand that mistakes can happen, I genuinely feel that this could have had disastrous consequences. Who knows if the dog I took home required specific medication at certain times? Or if the dog had allergies to substances it might have been exposed to? Furthermore, this family has a pool accessible to the dog. What if the dog accidentally fell in and couldn't find a way out, leading to a tragic incident? This poor dog was left in an unfamiliar house for an extended period of time, not knowing where she was. This truly shatters my heart. Based on the reviews I've read here and on various other websites, it is evident that this business does not prioritize the well-being of dogs. Reviews have mentioned instances where the owner/owners have stated that dogs are merely property, admitted to not knowing the whereabouts of certain dogs, and shared other highly negative and alarming experiences. It is clear that there is a total absence of any system to guarantee that the correct dog is sent home, which is blatantly evident from how swiftly they brought out the wrong dog. I genuinely hope that the owner assumes full responsibility for this situation since it is their responsibility to establish a proper system. I have been going to Puppingham Palace for several years and I want to tell everyone that I have been very very please with there service. They have always made sure my dog is up to date of all shots and vaccinations. They are extremely gentle and they have always treat Allie with special care beings she is older. We took our dog to Puppingham Palace for 3 half days of doggy day care. After this, we noticed he developed a hacking cough so bad he would throw up. We took him immediately to the vet and he was diagnosed with kennel cough even though he had been vaccinated against it. The vet stated he was going to call Puppingham Palace later in the day to inform them of the matter. I called Puppingham about 9 am and asked to speak to the manager and whoever answered the phone identified herself as the manager. When I told her the situation her attitude was very flippant and she said it was no big deal, happens all the time. Well no big deal cost us over $160 in two visits to the vet and there are probably other dogs that are going to have kennel cough out of their facility because they would rather make money than to carefully watch dogs who may be showing signs of being sick. That's how much they care for animals and my dog will not be going back. I will tell anyone who asks what type of place and lack of concern they have for pets. read more

We took our Golden Doddle there in July 2018 and she got Kennel Cough (she was vaccinated). Vet bill was about $150. I reported to them and they said it happens anywhere you go. Then this July we took our Golden Doodle and Shi tzu there thinking it would never happen again but they both came home with Kennel Cough. Yes another $160 vet visit. They were both vaccinated. Then a few days later our other dog that didn't go to Puppingham got Kennel Cough. I told my neighbor about it and she said her dog got Kennel Cough from there too twice. I would never send my dogs there again. I am furious!!! read more

My dog has been going here since she was a puppy and old enough to go. The staff and owners love dogs and treat them like their very own. Lots of neck hugs, kisses, and positive reinforcement. They have small dogs on one side of daycare and then the larger breeds on another side. They have a huge outdoor turfed play yard with toys and climbing areas and a few pools for relief from the heat. I love the camera system they have whereby you can log on and see your pup playing or napping. They have these really cool luxury suites for boarding you animal overnight. Each room has a nice sized memory foam bed with decorative headboard. Such a hoot! If that's not needed, there are also several kennel style options for boarding. Someone is with the dogs from 9pm - 2am and then again from 7am - 6pm. The dogs are always tired after a full day of playing and usually have no trouble sleeping. The staff will accommodate any special dietary needs your pet has .... just bring in the required food. All in all it's a fantastic loving doggie place! read more

Took staples to close the wound...huge scar now! Had been going here for about a year and a half for day care. Picked my greyhound up from a half day of daycare and he had a big hole in his side! When I asked what happened, I was told he came in like that. I was told the wound didn't happen there, and no one saw anything. I finally asked for the owner to call me and I left. I talked with the owner on two separate occasions. At first she denied the injury took place at her facility, stating no one saw anything and she is not responsible. I called once more and again received the same song and dance about no one saw anything. Then she said she can't pay vet bills when things happen and that I signed a waiver when I first brought him there. I told her I expect small scratches and bumps to happen when dogs play together but nothing like this hole in his side! I told her the staff is clearly not watching the dogs. My greyhound was there for four hours and no one saw anything? Really?! The vet told me it was a bite wound. He also said a reputable daycare would take full responsibility AND pay for the vet bills, and if they do not do this to not return (which I don't plan to do anyway). After the vet cleaned up the wound and cut away the dead tissue so he could staple and close the skin, my greyhound is left with a HUGE scar that is still trying to mend. Multiple staples and medical glue, a cone, a depressed dog, and a $500 vet bill. That's what you'll get from Puppingham Palace!!! read more

We have been taking our dog here for daycare and boarding for the past year and half, and we could not be happier with the services they provide. Our dog LOVES going to "The Palace!" We pull up and he can hardly wait to get out of the car. He runs in and goes straight to the play door! "Let me in! My friends are in there!!!" On the flip side, he is exhausted at the end of the day, and is always sound asleep in the car before we even get home. The folks that work there really care about the dogs, and know their habits and quirks inside and out. (And when something doesn't seem right, they always let us know.) The dogs get plenty of exercise and activity, as they have plenty of room to run around, both inside and outside. We've boarded him several times there (from a long weekend to a two-week vacation), and knew he was in good hands. They have several different sleeping options, from the typical crate to fancy private rooms with beds! We are so fortunate to have such a great option for our dog so close in the neighborhood. *BEWARE* We kenneled our dog at puppingham palace and our vet diagnosed her with a deep skin infection. On day 11 when we were scheduled to pick up our dog, the kennel owner called and said our dog had a couple of what she termed "hot spots". We were in shock at the condition of our dog's skin. Open sores and missing hair on her legs along with red and bumpy skin over most of her underside. Our local vet diagnosed our dog with a deep skin infection. I called the owner of puppingham, explained the issue and requested that we be refunded the $125 cost of the vet bill which included antibiotics. The owner claimed our dog could have come in with the infection. Well then why did we first hear about it on day 11 when we were to pick her up? Our dog is a healthy 2 year old and never had any skin issues. We were also told their kennel was no different than taking your kids to kindergarten or a park and there is nothing puppingham would do for clients if a dog gets sick. The owner finally agreed to pay half of the vet bill but I told them that was unacceptable and requested the full $125 to be refunded. At that point they avoided my calls and would not return my messages. After being persistent and again visiting their facility I was told they would not refund the full vet fees. Very poor customer service! I would recommend avoiding the use of puppingham palace! read more
