Well,I was very surprised to see the previous reviews rating 1 or 2,then realised its all related to pskara nights, this place rates in my top 3 all time,I've never reviewed it before as I like to add a photo. I was with a young chap from Newcastle think of moving to Glasgow, as Ii was Glasgow curry week I had to take him to Glasgows finest,I after a bit of pondering we headed off taking in the city sights on the way.we were absolutely famished on arrival ,the best way to tackle a curry
Pre theatre at 10.95 looked promising,we both agreed we prefer not to have a starter seperstly,so asked for it all to be served at once, now, for some reason this is a negati e to people when food takes a while to arrive. In this case, and I know this for a fact, its because its being cooked to order, fresh, its not a place where theres a big vat of curry sauce waiting to add boiled meat, and a few bits added to make a different dish, this is the real deal, anyone can make pskora, its easy, but try creating a flavour like theses curries, surely why you go yo an Indian restaurant?
Pakora did appear on our buffet, chicken puri, lamb and chicken curries, buns type I think,we just said we wanted nice rich spicy things and we got them, the pskora was nice, thin batter, with moist chicken, puri nice too,but the curries, wow,I have eaten a ton of curry,I make it, very well,I did a buffet for a retiring Indian doctor and was mistaken for mother India,,not quite as good as them but i know spices ,23 years making, eating, curry ,I'm an expert on this glorious culinary delight,I'm on my 5 th in 6 days as I write this lol,Glasgow curry week must be going to my head, there for I'm qualified to say that this is in a different league,if you want the real deal, see past the bright lighting, the somewhat drab surroundings, the wait while its COOKED FRESH,how long does it take you to make a meal for guests...10 min..no. of course nt
The staff are super friendly if you engage with them and happy to chat about their chef, and the things he makes for them, this is cooking of the highest stsndard, expertly season rd,spiced beautifully with heat built from layers of spices not just a handful of chillies like lesser establishments, black pepper, mustard seed ,ginger, they all feature here to make a complex, rich base with no dominant chilli heat spoiling it,full of green herbs too,but without the dominant coriander flavour that spoils many. If you actually want great curry, really great curry, look no further. Sorry yelpers ,I think you should look past the pakora here, this place serves top notch curry, all reviews bar one are about pakora nights, get the deep fryer out,a bag of gram flour, make it yourself, its so easy you eont believe it,try msking a curry like this,a soft, flaky perfect naan..if you love curry there is a blog devoted to it,and he agrees with me,hardly a mention of pakora,35 visits here.. read more
