My family spent a Sunday afternoon at Pumpkin Station Rancho Bernardo and had a lovely time. This Pumpkin patch has lots to entertain young children- petting zoo, hay ride, corn maze, pumpkins, sunflowers, and a child-sized train. Wasn't too sure about this place when I drove by but it's so peaceful and calm . They do close at 6pm so getting here midday worked . You do need at least a couple hours if your going to do everything they have to offer . There isn't any food for sale , they do sell waters , however you are allowed to bring in snacks and drinks to this one . One of the best , peaceful pumpkin patch family visits we have done ! It's not a huge location, but there is plenty to see for the little ones and lots of photo ops too! Dogs are welcome on a leash. Amazing! Small pumpkins are $2 each, sunflowers stems are $2 each, and larger ones are very reasonably priced too! They also sell pumpkin carving tools, candles to put inside your pumpkin, decorative corn. Tickets to attractions are $5 each or you can get a package! I love that they are transparent with pricing. Different attractions available in 2024: 1. Petting zoo: goats and baby goats. Food for them is available at $1 I think :) 2. Corn maze: surprisingly hard! Genuine stalks of corn up to 7 feet tall! 3. Hay ride: definitely going to do this next year! 4. Getting here early is key, like other pumpkin patches, otherwise you would be waiting in line. The patch wasn't too massive so it's manageable if you want a quick stop for photos since admission and parking was free. We had a great time here with another family. We have consistently come here the past few years as it is one of the better pumpkin patches and we have always enjoyed the amount of activities that they have! We have picked sunflowers in the past and always buy pumpkins here, which are fairly priced. They have a variety of pumpkins and gourds that you can choose from! The workers here have always been friendly and parking is ample. However, we were just here yesterday and I am taking off one star since none of the sunflowers are ready to be picked yet! They had a few rows of huge (I mean HUGE, like the size of my head) sunflowers that were past their prime and many other rows of sunflowers that have not yet budded. I believe they may be ready soon though! A very family friendly and pet friendly place to visit if you are looking for some fall festivities in San Diego, but maybe wait a bit if you wish to pick the sunflowers in addition to buying pumpkins. read more

What a fun place to spend the day with your family! Highly recommend visiting PS. We come every year with a group and it never disappoints. There's lots of things to do for the kids like hay ride, train ride, petting zoo, run around the sunflower garden and pumpkin patch. Or you can simply buy some pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. There are a lot of places to take photos and I've noticed people taking family photo shoots and selfie sticks. There is a couple of vendors that sell Ive cream and snacks near the entrance. There are port-o-potties for bathroom usage so try to go beforehand or afterwards. There is a lot of parking in the dirt lot. Stroller is OK to bring as long as you're ok with the bumpiness and uneven dirt ground. We brought our stroller one year and wagon last year. You can't bring your strollers up in the pumpkin patch or sunflower field because it's a steep incline and narrow. We typically spend about an hour here unless you continuously go on the rides. It's a great way place for some family time. read more

However, the employees/owners are not very organized for group events (there were several large groups visiting at the same time and there was not enough seating or shade). As we were leaving a very rude man accused a group full of kindergarteners of stealing his lunch. I'd recommend Oma's, Summers Past Farm or Bates Nut Farm over this place. read more

Overall a simple but fun experience. The experience of being out in the open (vs. a converted corner of an urban parking lot) made the drive from LA worth it to go check out. Pros: 1. I liked the sunflower field. It was fun to pick our own stems ($2/each). I liked that if a stem had multiple flowers on it, it still counted as one stem. 2. I liked the corn maze. It's pretty small but was better on the inside than what I first thought walking up to it. It's not really that much of a maze, but since I've been trapped at home all year due to the pandemic, this was relatively really fun to me lol (if you are with people you like). 3. There are a few haystacks with giant pumpkins where you can take pictures to your heart's content. 4. Cute farm animals to watch, esp. the goats (but we couldn't enter the enclosure). 5. They have all kinds of pumpkin sizes. If you want a freakishly big one, they have those too. Cons: 1. It's a dirt field (and parking lot) so expect to get very dusty. 2. I was hoping to see pumpkins in the patch, but there were just a few already picked and lined up. (In fairness, I went on Halloween day, so it makes sense that everything was already harvested and sold by now). read more

We've been coming here for years due to not wanting to make the trek to Bates Nut Farm deep in Escondido. The sunflowers are a great photo op, and the kids have a great time picking out their pumpkins. Why the 2 stars? We have fond memories of this place but now ruined since we were treated like crap this year with whoever was running the train and his counterpart. They have a bait and switch thing going on for their mini train they have on site. The coupon on their site says one free ride per customer and the guy insisted it was per family. We were still willing to pay for the other ticket since we have two kids so we walked back to the front to buy the ticket. We showed the front desk the coupon and they agreed it is per customer. When we went back to the train the guy insisted again one customer means family. Technically we came as 4 separate families so I really didn't get what the issue was and we all purchased pumpkins. I explained even the front desk person told us to just show our coupons to the train ticket person again. He then turned away and started talking crap to the other staff member in front of other customers. A lady kindly offered to have her daughters take my younger son by himself after seeing the staff treat us like this but I was fuming by this point and had to walk away before I made a scene. Fix your coupon if you don't want this to be an issue. Don't treat your customers like crap due to not making your own fine print clear. We'll be making our trips back to Bates next year. It is far but at least we won't be dealing with staff that thinks it's okay to talk crap about their customers in front of their face after their own mishap. read more

I Love this place, I found them on a Yelp post and decided to visit. My only mistake was visiting at around 1PM so it was hot. Enjoyed doing the corn maze, did the UPick of sunflowers which I will bring back to my office. Nice place to visit with family and friends and is only a short drive from San Diego. A nice little Pumpkin Patch without the crowds, traffic, and $5 parking that comes with Bates Nut Farm. There are no rides or bouncers here, but just a Hay ride, some goats, a maze, and a bunch of pumpkins. Little kids wont care that there isn't a bouncer etc etc. There are also good picture opportunities all around. - Plenty of $1 (grenade sized pumpkins) perfect for kids to take home. - The Hay Ride is $1 a person and I think it's worth it. - Nobody monitoring the Corn Maze, so its honor system paying for that. - While you're here, there are several hiking trails ( kid friendly ) right behind this farm. My family and I had a great visit at Pumpkin Station on Halloween Day 2020. We arrived before it was open knowing it would get a bit crowded on the actual holiday. All the workers did wore masks and because of Covid the petting zoo was not open this year. You can still see all the cute goats/sheeps/chickens from outside and they are so adorable. It was only $2/pp to walk inside the corn maze which was pretty cool. Sunflowers are $2 stem and it's a steal! Mine was still blooming for a week at home! Since we came late in the season, we only saw about 3 different varieties of sunflowers. I think normally they have 5 or 6 different kinds. It was very fun to walk around the flower field to take pictures and cutting our own stems with the shears provided. Definitely something cute and appreciating the simple things with our family during Covid. They had many pumpkins for sale and also a tractor where you can climb up to take pictures. We spend a good 90 minutes here and really love how it's pet friendly. Our pooch got many great pictures as well! Even though it was a far drive for us from SGV, we had a great morning at Pumpkin Station. If we were to visit next year I would try to come earlier in October for less crowds and more sunflowers. read more

The admission is free and so is the parking! I went in today, and I absolutely 100% recommend this place! It is definitely perfect for all ages. They have PLENTY of different pumpkins to choose from. Orange ones, white ones, big ones, small ones. If you pick your own pumpkin from the ground it is $6. But, if you buy the ones on display they are as cheap as $3. Also, each sunflower stem is $1, and you can ask a worker for clippers to choose your own sunflower from the fields! They have a hayride and a petting zoo (I did not do either but they are inexpensive, lower than $10 I believe). When I went to buy my pumpkin and sunflower, the worker gave me a $5.00 off coupon for a Christmas tree since they will be selling them in late November! Adorable pumpkin patch! It was close to the freeway and still had that isolated farmland vibe. Another plus, it's way closer and less crowded than the ever popular bates nut farm. It has a corn maze field, a petting zoo, hayrides, and pick your own sunflowers. They had a wonderful selection of pumpkins. Lots of 'exotic' types and real giant ones too. It's crawling with lots of photo opportunities. The sunflower fields are just awesome. So many cool bugs on and around them as well. That was probably my kids favorite part. Also a heads up, the hay ride is very dusty. We were all covered in a fine dirt layer afterwards. The staff were all very friendly. The prices for the hayrides and maze were affordable. The large pumpkins are pretty pricey but its worth it if you want that xl gourd. Pro tip: Sometimes if you go on Halloween or the day before pumpkin patches are known to markdown pumpkin prices to 50% off or more. I am not sure if this particular pumpkin patch does that however. read more

The patch is nice and they have a good selection. The property isn't big and overwhelming. I gave them three stars because they are not enforcing the rules they have posted about wearing masks. If you are still concerned about COVID just know there are lots of teenagers here getting IG pics and not wearing masks. This is a great pumpkin station spot. It's a beautiful place with a sunflower field. There is no admission or parking fees but you get a great view and farm feel. Not very crowded either. It's got a corn maze, hay ride and petting zoo (goats and chickens) where you can feed the goats some carrots. It's $1 ticket per person for the corn maze, hay ride and feeding. Nobody takes your ticket in the corn maze, so it's kind of a waste to pay $1 but they don't tell you that when you buy your tickets. You do actually feel lost in the corn maze! The hay ride takes you through the sunflower fields and you get to see a couple of the pine trees they have growing too. The driver takes your ticket when you get on the ride. The lines weren't long at all. Their pumpkins range from $1-12 depending on the size. I didn't really look at the price for the really huge pumpkins. I wouldn't be able to lift them if I tried. Maybe they were just there for picture purposes. You can walk through the fields where the pumpkins grew and where the sunflowers are. They were selling single stemmed sunflowers for $1. Some of them were huge! The store sells different shaped, textured and sized pumpkins, squashes and gourds. They also have pumpkin carving tools. They sell bottled waters for $2. There's a picnic area and outside food is accepted. read more
