Lyndsey helped me plan our 2015 wedding and I could not be more grateful for all her services. She…read morewas fantastic. She started working with me about 6 months before our wedding. At the start she had an extensive spreadsheet already set up. We started with an initial consultation where she asked me many questions about what we wanted for our wedding. She was great because I didn't know all the answers in the beginning and she left those items open for us to discuss at a later time. Lyndsey then set up weekly meetings with me to check in on progress. These were the most helpful to me because it kept everything on track and it broke down the event planning into easy, manageable steps. She would send me task lists weekly. She was also an excellent resource for finding vendors in the area. She found an excellent, cost-effective videographer for the wedding that worked out well. Lyndsey was very flexible. I could give her tasks to do or I would take tasks that I really wanted to do on my own. I think one of the best things is that because Lyndsey is so organized and flexible with changes it allowed me to focus on the creative part of planning the wedding, which is what I really wanted to do. She then made sure to set the timeline and keep things moving along. Perhaps the best part of my experience with Lyndsey was the days before and the day of the wedding. She arrived a couple of days before the wedding and helped to settle details, which allowed me to spend time with my family and friends. The day of the wedding was the best. Lyndsey enlisted the help of her husband and they took care of everything! They took care of paying everyone who needed to be paid. They made sure things stayed on schedule. As with any event, the best plans can sometimes not turn out, Lyndsey made it happen. For example, I learned weeks after the wedding that there was some miscommunication with the caterer about the time the event ended, even though I had clearly told her. I never knew about it the day of the event. Lyndsey took care of everything. I spent the day of our wedding so happy and so in the moment. I enjoyed every minute of that day. There is a funny story from our wedding. The best man, the DJ, and the priest were so impressed with how well organized everything was that they made comments during their homily, the best man's toast, and before one of our dances. That is a big compliment to Lyndsey and all her hard work to make the day go so well and be so memorable for my husband and I. We loved our wedding day!

He impressed us from the get go during our first meeting with him and gained our confidence in him. He went over all the important details and what to expect on our wedding day. He even shed light on things that we hadn't even thought of yet as he guided us through how the wedding day would proceed. We showed Ed the direction and style that we wanted our wedding to have and he delivered beyond our expectations. We had specific songs picked out for Ed to play that had sentimental value to us. He played them all. But it was important to us that we let Ed have the creative freedom to select his own songs too and not be bound by the shackles of a song list that would take away his artistry as a professional DJ. Ed has a canny ability to read the crowd. Our wedding turned out better than we had ever dreamed. Ed played an integral role in that. He rolled with all the changes that naturally come on a wedding day. He is polite, kind, and respectful. We received countless compliments from our guests about how great the DJ is. The lightshow he put on was awesome and gave the exact vibe we were hoping for. He had every one of our guests on the dance floor having the time of their life. Thank you Ed for making our wedding such a memorable day in our life and not playing any Bruno Mars like we requested :p And thank you to your crew for all their assistance.

I used the Wedding DJs for my wedding. The service was excellent. We had two meetings before the…read morewedding--the initial interview where I decided to hire him (Ed Griffin), and then closer to the wedding to hash out all the details. He explained the wedding timeline to us, showed us how to cut the cake, and had lots of great ideas. At the wedding itself, he brought us water, set up the cake cutting and was generally very service-oriented. I messed up on the processional and sent the groom and officiant out as soon as I heard music. Unfortunately it was the last song for seating of the guests and not the processional song. Ed rolled with it and changed to the right song so the rest of the processional walked to the right song. He also did the ceremony and recessional music flawlessly. I think he either forgot to bring our song list or decided not to play it. Of the 30 or so songs I requested, he only played 1. I requested 2 others and he played them, but he didn't voluntarily play any but the 1. I was really disappointed that none of my special songs were played. He did play a song that one of the guests brought from home, and I could see that he was gauging my reaction to make sure it was OK, which it was. That being said, the music he did choose was excellent. We had given him a good sense of our taste in music and he played a good mix from both of our younger years (my husband and I are older, and we have a big age difference). The music Ed did choose got people on the dance floor and that was important to me. I really liked all of the songs he played and was very happy that people were dancing. And he's a great guy all in all. I give the Wedding DJs 5 stars for the ceremony and 3 stars for the dancing part of the evening but only because he didn't use our song list. If your song list is important to you, bring a copy of it to your wedding and have your bridesmaids keep requesting songs off it. I would use the Wedding DJs again. Oh, and his price was not the cheapest of the four DJs I interviewed, but it was very reasonable compared to the two on the upper end of the scale.

Alan came to us as a recommendation from a couple who previously had him as their DJ, and through a story of how Alan swooped in to save part of their wedding, we knew he would be a great choice. And we weren't wrong. Alan's process to prepare for our big day was thorough and thoughtful. Music and dancing wasn't a particularly big part of our day, given most of our guests weren't big dancers, but Alan's wealth of experience led him to provide value in other, much needed, ways. He advised us on the flow of our timeline, offered suggestions on the best photo opportunities, and integrated a clever way to get as many guests on the dance floor to start the night off right. What I saw in Alan, that I didn't see in any other of the 7+ DJs I talked to, was his ability to see himself as a part of the bigger picture and not "just a DJ." He wasn't just thinking about the music, but about where the guests were, how to flow from one activity to another, and the pacing to make the experience for the couple AND guests an incredibly memorable one. On the day of, we had to remain flexible with the timeline & Alan stepped in to coordinate with the vendors on real time, live changes. He was part of a handful of the vendors we hired that kept the event together. Alan was one of our BEST vendor decisions on our wedding day.

He perfectly set the scene for every part of our day, from the pre-ceremony music greeting the guests, to the low-key indie music behind our taco cart dinner, to our rocking dance party. He was super easy to work with- great communication (including a super in-depth questionnaire), laid-back personality, great knowledge, and a wide range of skills to take care of everything. He and his wife were a rock star team the day of; setting up at the reception venue mid-afternoon before heading to the park for our ceremony and dinner, then tearing down at the park and getting the party started at the reception with a stupidly short turn-around time. He took requests (including a super weird one from a groomsman that turned out to be one of the most hilariously awkward perfect moments of the night), played I'm On a Boat with all the expletives after all the old people left (ummmm... YES PLEASE. I didn't even say it was my very favorite song...), balanced the sound beautifully for both the music and the mics (indoor and outdoor), and just generally was an awesome human to interact with. My only complaints: He played Billie Jean at a wedding... (I can't really dock him for it, though, because I didn't specifically list it on my do not play list). He Might have played some must-play songs before we got there to hear them. He set up and stood right at the top of the aisle during the ceremony, so he and his wife are in a lot of our processional photos, which isn't ideal (but could be the fault of an oversight by our coordinator, not him).
