And we weren't wrong. Alan's process to prepare for our big day was thorough and thoughtful. Music and dancing wasn't a particularly big part of our day, given most of our guests weren't big dancers, but Alan's wealth of experience led him to provide value in other, much needed, ways. He advised us on the flow of our timeline, offered suggestions on the best photo opportunities, and integrated a clever way to get as many guests on the dance floor to start the night off right. What I saw in Alan, that I didn't see in any other of the 7+ DJs I talked to, was his ability to see himself as a part of the bigger picture and not "just a DJ." He wasn't just thinking about the music, but about where the guests were, how to flow from one activity to another, and the pacing to make the experience for the couple AND guests an incredibly memorable one. He spoke about music, sure, but he also talked about the little things he was willing to do during our event - including coming by and busing our table if he thought it wasn't getting done so that our pictures looked great. He was just so thoughtful and really made us feel like he really wanted to be part of the team that made our wedding day as special as possible. It turns out that sitting down and trying to plan out what music you want to hear at your wedding isn't quite as easy as it sounds on paper. Everybody knows what they like, but trying to explain that to the person that you are entrusting your party to isn't always easy. Luckily, Danny is extremely organized and helped us break down our big, complex day into smaller chunks which made picking music to match so much easier.
