He spoke about music, sure, but he also talked about the little things he was willing to do during our event - including coming by and busing our table if he thought it wasn't getting done so that our pictures looked great. He was just so thoughtful and really made us feel like he really wanted to be part of the team that made our wedding day as special as possible. It turns out that sitting down and trying to plan out what music you want to hear at your wedding isn't quite as easy as it sounds on paper. Everybody knows what they like, but trying to explain that to the person that you are entrusting your party to isn't always easy. Luckily, Danny is extremely organized and helped us break down our big, complex day into smaller chunks which made picking music to match so much easier. He also had a ton of recommendations so we never felt like we didn't have somebody to point us in the right direction. We told him we wanted the vibe to feel less like we hired a DJ to press play on a playlist of generic wedding music, and more like we had hired a DJ to come play bangers for us, our families and friends - this included mixing tracks to help us keep the energy up. Danny could not have been more receptive to the ask and it showed in his excitement! Our wedding has come and gone, and we're so happy to share with you that Danny absolutely killed it! He exceeded all expectations at every stage of the day -- His passion and energy came through in his work and we just can't imagine our day with somebody else. We received sooooo many compliments on his behalf from our guests, and a pair of our friends was so impressed with his work, energy and attitude that they booked him for their wedding! What would you do if on your wedding day, the DJ you've been working with the whole planning year…read moresent his dad and didn't show up himself? Well, that's what happened to us. We first met with John Jr. of CrossSound Audio one year prior to our wedding date. We thought John Jr. was very personable and seemed like he knew the business really well. His main selling point? Typically if they're booked to be at an event, it's usually him that emcees through the evening and his dad, John Sr. ensures, from a technical stand point, nothing falls apart. John Jr. also took pride in the fact that they invest in the best equipment in the industry and that they value their prized equipment because John Sr. used to be in a band. Well, great! We were sold and since we liked John Jr., we decided to book them. Flash forward to our wedding day, an hour before the ceremony John Sr. walks up to me and explains that John Jr. won't be coming because John Jr's. wife (who's a wedding planner) also had a wedding, and that DJ decided to not show up. So, John Jr. decided to not show to our wedding to rescue his poor wife. We were shocked!!! Because throughout the year, we've worked only with Jr. John Sr. met with us once, but we didn't communicate via email nor were we confident that he knew the details of our wedding. I figured there was no need to get upset, and just go with it. Here's what went wrong: 1. The cueing of the procession was late..it started after people started walking. 2. Cueing of the recession was wrong. I had the song start at the chorus, but he started it from the beginning. 3. The introduction of the wedding party was quiet and boring. We wanted it to have more of a sports team intro feel to it but what we got was a snooze fest. 4. He refused to play Eminem's "Airplanes" because he said it was explicit when a guest requested it. He didn't even come to ask me if it was all right. 5. We gave him a specific playlist that he chose to sometimes follow and sometimes ignore. 6. The microphone decided to not work when the Matron of Honor gave her speech. After about 6 tries, she had to shout her speech. 7. Even when the speakers worked for the Best Man speech, we could hardly hear him. After our wedding, we decided to provide some candid feedback and ask for an explanation for why we were ditched by John Jr. They, still to this day, believe that they went "above and beyond our expectations" (straight from their mouths). My issue here is, MEETING our expectations meant that our DJ had to show up. Not showing up automatically deserves a FAIL don't you think?!?! The least they could have done was tell me as soon as they found out and explained the situation to me, rather than waiting an hour before the ceremony. That was unacceptable to me. In all fairness though, we asked for $450 back as a refund to compensate and they gave us $350 in the end, aftering a nail scratching on black board experience defending ourselves. CrossSound Audio is a poorly ran family owned business with unethical practices. They should not even be in this industry if they choose to serve their clients in this manner. Not only will I not use them again, I will be spreading my experience around to newly engaged friends and acquaintances. No one should have to hear from a guest, "Your DJ is horrible, you should ask for your money back!" while making your rounds greeting guests on your wedding day. I hope more people come on Yelp to share their experience with this company because people need to know. If I could give them 0 star, I would but Yelp won't let me.

My experience with CrossSound could not have been more different than Cindi's was…read more I just used John and John for my wedding last Friday and it was the most fantastic event EVER. John Jr was my contact and we talked several times before the wedding, he even went as far as to come up to the venue a few weeks before the ceremony to make sure he knew where to set up and verified that he would have ample outlets, etc. We went over my play list not once, but 3 different times, he even made some helpful suggestions for me. On the day of the wedding, both Johns were at the venue before I was, and were already sound checking and setting up. I used a customized song to walk down the aisle to, and with 9 attendants on each side plus 2 flower girls, it seemed like a complicated mess, but John looped the intro of my song, and when it was time for my dad and I to walk down, I was walking to the song I love, right where I wanted it to play. After the ceremony, both Johns stayed on track, kept our guests engaged, and played great music. I received several compliments after wards from friends and family saying he was one of the best DJ's they had seen at any wedding and a few of my friends asked for his contact info for their own upcoming ceremonies and events. Overall, I have no regrets about using these guys, would absolutely use them again, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great DJ for their event. Thanks John!

Hugh touched base the week of the wedding and we went over all the details in the form. I made most of my own playlists and had specific artists I wanted to hear, and Hugh delivered on all of it. The ceremony music played without a hitch, the cocktail hour/dinner music was exactly me and my husband's taste, and he played songs from my playlist for dancing without straying from what I chose.
