I loved the relaxed but fun environment that Puerto Vallarta has. The artwork is beautiful and the overall vibe is very fun. There were a few things that happened on this visit that if corrected I think could have made it a five star experience. We arrived with a party of 5 and two kids. One not old enough to eat and one about 4. We waited a bit longer at the front than was expected, with people noting us but no one coming to help -- and this may be them being short staffed. When we got staff they didn't ask about a chair for the kiddo or booster seat (we considered the former but made a chair work). They had no coloring or activity book for the kids to do, which was hard. They had TVs which semi helped but we were far from them. We ordered and two of us are dairy free and one is gluten free. When ordering the shrimp tacos they arrived with no cheese but the sauce on top was not written on the menu that it was on there and our server did not inform us even after hearing no dairy. This was easily preventable and a little frustrating but overall something a person with allergies is used to. She did get our meals remade quickly and without dairy which was super nice. Diana was kind and also extremely diligent about waters, dishes and refills. She also ordered our kids meal immediately which was helpful and answered questioned we had. I will definitely be back without kiddos to because the tacos were so good, the sauce that came on the side of the shrimp tacos was spicy, yet flavorful. read more

Well how this can be 4 stars is questionable to me. Not even close to being authentic. Just to get a guacamole added to your meal you have to buy the $11 bowl. The chips were cold and honestly tasted like cornflakes and the salsa was just runny tomato sauce with a little spice and cilantro. Menu was limited. Main meal was unfortunately anything special. I hate giving this review because the food was AWESOME and the atmosphere was really fun too! It's just that the service was terrible. Also, the bathrooms were filthy. I had the steak fajitas and they were delicious! My mom and brother both had the chimichangas and they also were great! All three of us have worked in the service industry so we try to be very understanding when dining out, but the waitress was kinda rude and only checked on us once. She almost acted like we were just inconveniencing her. We ordered queso and ran out of chips and had to ask three times for more before getting them, and by the time we got more chips, our queso was cold and we were done with our entrees. Mind you, our queso was supposed to be our appetizer lol. It's a shame because again, GREAT food, but very poor service. read more

Don't be fooled by the exterior, the inside is very large and nicely decorated. Huge bar, large menu with tons of options. The tacos I ordered were delicious and their complimentary chips and salsa too notch. Service was attentive and polite, would definitely come back. read more

Seriously the best mexican food in Fargo and the staff were so nice and attentive! The way they serve their margaritas is so cool! I also love how they use the pineapple as a serving bowl. The pineapple was filled with tiger shrimp, steak, chicken, onions, bell peppers and of course, chunks of pineapple and topped with cheese and served with tortillas, beans and rice. They also bring over a guacamole cart and make fresh guacamole at your table. You choose what you want in it. Their fried corn appetizer was interesting. It wasn't greasy. It tasted like fresh corn you'd get in late summer with a great texture and seasoned with mexican spices. Easily 5 stars! Now Kermit and I are arguing over who gets to take a siesta on the 4 hr drive home. read more

Loved the Guacamole made table side, plus it was so good. Margarita flight was the best I've had thus far, only complaint is there was no salt on the rim. I was hoping for at least a smear. Seasoning on the fried corn was too tangy for me but loved the concept. House Margarita was not good. I had to ask for more tequila Even with more tequila it still was hard to choke down. I would never order that again. The Chory-pollo had such good flavor paired with corn tortillas The service was top notch. Ok, most of us in Fargo know there is a number of Mexican restaurants to choose from. I'm from Southern California & have experienced some of the best of the best in this type of food over the years, Now if you're looking for tone down Americanized Mexican food you're in luck. if you don't like a lot of spice, this is perfect for you. Their food is poorly lacking in seasoning of flavor. This is a C- for me. If you're looking for the real deal Mexican food there are much better in town to choose from. Go there not here. read more

Finally, a Mexican restaurant in Fargo that rivals Californias. The food, service, atmosphere & drinks are fabulous! I ordered the Vallarta Enchiladas and they had really good flavor. I've ordered them three times and they were good each time. My bf had the street tacos (one of each) and he enjoyed each one. The table side guacamole is a must at least once and I highly recommend the Patron margarita flight. They're fruity so no salt rim, sugar would have been okay but they were delish as is. read more

Nice restaurant as far as atmosphere & was larger than I expected. Even though beef was an option for many dishes I had to ask if I could get shredded beef rather than ground beef. It was tasty & a generous amount so I had leftovers which was good. A friend had a house margarita but wasn't impressed. Was SO huge but not too flavorful. Was thinking of getting one until I saw & heard about hers. Couldn't get a flavored house margarita either which is odd. In my opinion this place has the best Mexican food in the area. Their salsa and chips are better than the other places-fresher and more flavorful. They have really good specials that are great deals most nights. Everyone that works there is so attentive and polite. Great food, great prices but a loud (and not in a jubilant celebratory way) atmosphere. I really liked this place and will go back but the environment felt more cafeteria like than I was expecting. There are a lot of hard surfaces on the space which cause everything sounds to echo and create an overly chaotic noisy space. The food however was spectacular and our service was outstanding. We went for a quick lunch and the place was busy! Super fresh ingredients, well presented, could have had more seasoning (seemed a bit tamed down to accommodate for the ketchup is hot crowd in Fargo) but a nice meal. Go, eat, enjoy! read more

The space isn't inviting with a cold feeling in a cavernous room. The food was also not great. Fish with a ton of uninteresting sauce. $12 guacamole was only ok. I've only eaten one dish so far but it was very good. I'll explore others for sure. The reason for a 5* is the fantastic service. That is a well-oiled machine. Other restaurants in town should take notice how great service is done. They're all mic'd up and communicating and they're all busy. Top notch, Puerto Vallarta. Don't change. Very nice layout, plenty of space, etc. I'll be coming back for sure.
