I was provided a specials menu in addition to the regular menu. I was offered bread, but I declined so as not to go into an evening food coma. I ordered iced tea and was pleased with what tasted freshly brewed. Within 10 minutes, my food was out, and it was a hearty chop steak, cooked to medium as I requested, with flavorful gravy and cooked mushrooms and onions. The mashed potatoes were good, but I'd try a different side next time. The Mac and cheese was great, and I'd likely order that again.

And strangely, blue cheese and garlic had crept into every single bite, as if the kitchen could not bear to let a dish leave without them. A meal that should have pleased everyone left most of us with a mild remorse. I felt surprisingly ill for hours afterward -- not because anything was unsafe, not because it wasn't delicious, but because it was simply too much. Too rich. Too savory. Not only did she not return my debit card after payment, apparently she was upset with her 12% tip and added a 1 to my tip to make it +$10! I called pretty upset on Monday afternoon and talked to a manager named Collin who seemed to not care about the issue. No apologies, only to promise to talk to the owner to see if they could do something for me since I lived out of state. I waited until Friday to call them back and was told by the hostess that Natalie would be calling me back later as she was on a call. She did call back about 1 1/2 hours later and said she had already refunded my card for the $10 and that she had looked at the receipt and it appeared I had issues writing with the pen so she could see how the server (Caitlyn) could have thought the tip was $16. 25! I let her know I had no issues with the pen and anything other than my 6.25 on the receipt was added by her server. I told her I was worried for all of the other tables where she had given bad service to and she had done the same thing. I tried to cut it up and it was even hard to eat with a knife and fork. I left most of it. The server was obviously very busy, so the service was extremely indifferent. She never asked us if everything was alright. I sat with an empty water glass and wine glass for 20 minutes. My plate was full when she picked it up to clear, and she didn't even notice. After the brown lettuce and green egg on the salad I had the last visit, I swore I wouldn't be back, but my friends are loyal customers. I think the cheap happy hour drinks keep them coming back. I really wish I had read my review from two years ago because I should have ordered something other than chicken. Once again, I found the chicken dry and difficult to cut - even with a steak knife. I didn't complain about the chicken because I was hungry and had already complained that the Chardonnay tasted like it was spoiled from heat exposure (awful aftertaste) and it was taken off my check. The baked potato was perfect and the Ranch Dressing was delicious. I'm sure I'll return at some point because Dundee is a halfway point between Ann Arbor and Lambertville - this restaurant is conveniently located right off the expressway.
