I just left not even five minutes ago. I watched as a new cashier cash someone out and say I love you back to the customer who said I love you first I'm assuming it was a family member or a friend But I watched as a manager come up and tell her that she's not allowed to tell them that she loves them. That work is a different environment and that she's not allowed to do that so not even to family or friends. That's crazy to me Even created a Yelp account just to say this because of how upset that made me! Poor girls should be able to tell her family or friends that she loves them whenever she feels the need. If this is even a rule, I think it needs to be changed and I think a lot of people would agree. read more

To be clear, I am ONLY reviewing the Publix Pell City Pharmacy. I switched to Publix for my and my kids' prescriptions a few years ago because it's the closest to my house. Last month, after seeing one of the employees posting referring to a different customer's child as a "crotch goblin" and joking that if the customer's 3 year old took an adult dose of blood pressure medication it wouldn't be a bad thing I decided it was worth driving further for my kids to be safe. I do not know the customer the Publix pharmacy employee was speaking about, but the story went somewhat viral on the local Facebook pages and it was very believable based on my own experience with Publix Pharmacy in Pell City. Before this final straw they had shown me a consistent pattern of incompetence and unprofessional behavior. In spite of our insurance being the same month to month, inevitably when I would refill our prescriptions each month, without fail, they would neglect to run someone's prescriptions on insurance and I would have to insist they run it and wait. Once, I wasn't paying attention and paid full price and getting a refund took forever. During the last presidential election the employees were holding up and showing off obnoxiously political shirts and merch they had purchased while at least 5 customers waited in line to pick up prescriptions at the counter. The wait is always long, they are frequently out of stock on common maintenance medications, the employees are rude and the culture of prioritizing socializing with coworkers over helping customers is at best acceptable to management. Switching to a different pharmacy was a hassle and Publix did not send over all of my children's records when the new pharmacy requested them which led to a lot of back and forth and frustration. But, in the end it was worth it for the peace of mind that people who take their jobs seriously will be handling my children's prescriptions in the future. read more

I'm 61 years old had insurance all my life I viewed over a dozen pharmacies and not nothing is worse as public pharmacy in Pell City too many mistakes and such a short time. Medication not available, labels wrong on the bottles, wasteful Ziploc plastic bags with holes in them for air so what's the use in that waste? Misinformation considering prescriptions ready... And that's all I can think of for now. I'll let you know if I remembering other snafu from the pharmacy. Maybe y'all need to stick to selling groceries. Sincerely, Troy Day read more

VERY VERY EXpensive! Out of a lot of items everytime I go grocery shopping, But Deli is awesome.

This Publix is great if you need just grocery's However if you decide to do business with the pharmacy side I would do my business elsewhere. This pharmacy employees are very rude and take a very long time to get your meds. I've never had this problem at other Publix until I moved here. read more

The deli service was brutal. Stood there for over 5 minutes and the person behind the counter was moving so slow. Never got my order taken so I just left. This needs to be fixed, we can't have people moving like sloths working the deli. Usually have a great time at Publix but this was awful. read more

I work for publix but not this location. Let me say store is ok far as product but staff make the difference. Pharmacy staff here are poor and need to be looked at by management. From telling you they have or can order meds then come back and not available to just rude speaking with them. Will do business at my location as usual from now on. I enjoy shopping at the Pell City Publix for groceries but often, they are out of items on sale.I also tried the pharmacy but found the employees to be snippy and rude. After having problems getting my prescriptions, I returned to my former pharmacy. At Publix, I had to speak with the pharmacist to get the right amount for my prescription. They are not friendly, either. Publix is known for their great service, so is the pharmacy not included in this great service policy? read more

Always good as expected. What Publix location isn't good! We enjoy grabbing some of there tasty fried chicken wings from the deli section. There's always good looking fruit to choose from & I enjoy the green wise organic options, which are reasonably priced! Lately there always seems to be some great BOGO deals at publix. I used the instacart option for this Publix because I work in Pell City often and businesses that deliver are very limited! I was very impressed with the speed of my delivery. The food from the Deli was amazing! My sandwich has the freshest ingredients and the person that made my delivery was SUPER nice! I would definitely recommend this Publix!! I am not sure when Publix included a sushi bar in there store in Pell City, but I am glad I found it for lunch today. I tried the spicy tuna roll today and I would say it is one of the best I have had in this area. The roll was very fresh and well made. I understand that all of the Publix stores have sushi bars now and I hope they are as good as this one because they will be a convenient place for a quick lunch. read more

Friendly service, always clean and well stocked!!! BOGO and weekly sales pricing on many items makes for great savings, and great store brands helps too if your in a pinch. There are lots of organic and gluten free products throughout the store too. I love when I walk in and there's an Apron's Meal being prepared because if I like how it tastes, I'll buy the items already gathered right there and make it for my family. Why stand in line forever at Walmart pharmacy when you can drive up, probably 'no waiting' and be on your way!? Overall, PUBLIX has been a fantastic addition to Pell City! read more

There are certain businesses that I hold to a higher standard for customer service. Publix is certainly one of them. So when I was told today by a pharmacy tech "Don't get huffy with me," I was very much taken aback. After having shown up at the store twice to pick up medication that had been promised to me, only to find that they still didn't have it, I was justifiably (and perhaps too obviously) upset. But rather than listen to my concerns, she immediately met me with condescension. The pharmacist did listen, but he was one of four people who had stated that the medication would be ready for me. I appreciated his efforts to appease me, but I will absolutely never visit this Publix pharmacy again and am shocked that I heard those words come out of the tech's mouth. read more

Pharmacy NIGHTMARE..... Had 2 prescriptions sent to them 4 days ago. On day one they stated it had to be ordered AFTER two trips to pick it up. I gave them the day after just to be sure they had it in stock. Day 3 I arrived only to be told that insurance would not cover the medicine. I informed the clerk this must be a mistake because my child is double covered AND when I had this rx filled at another pharmacy last month I had NO out of pocket. Insurance covered the entire amount. She then informed me she would have to call the insurance company and for me to circle the pharmacy, which I did for the next 45 minutes. After impatiently waiting she came back to inform me it was not working and she put a "ticket" in to their support team and would phone me before closing with a status. This morning the dermatologist office calls me and asks why they received a PA form from Publix on a NAME BRAND MEDICINE that WAS NOT EVEN PRESCRIBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The nurse gave me the name of the med that was prescribed and I called Publix to convey this message. The clerk was snippy when I explained the situation and basically said "well we ran it thru your insurance and it DOES require a PA" . I let her know while that medication may indeed require a PA the MEDICINE ORDERED FOR MY CHILDREN does NOT require a PA and explained it had been filled before without issue. She said "hold on" and covered the phone receiver and mumbled something to an associate then came back to the phone stating - "oh I see - well we don't have the medicine in stock and will have to order it". I told her to keep it and promptly changed to an alternate pharmacy. Such a sad team at Pell City Publix Pharmacy - you guys just lost a loyal patron. I cannot abide errors in medications PERIOD. I live 1 mile from this location and have been using them for years. They only had two cashier's with the lines four deep. I tried to get some deli sandwiches but there was no one to wait on me or the six other customers in line. There was one guy serving the fried chicken and he apologized for the wait. In the last few months I have had to check expiration dates due to so many dairy products past the date. Last week I got some honeydew from the fruit section that was so hard to eat I took it back, the employee behind the counter said they had to cut fruit regardless of being ripe! Who is at fault here? I've been shopping at Publix since 1974 when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The store on East Las Olas Blvd. was the first Publix I was in. Great store with great employees. Publix has been my favorite grocer since then. The store in Pell City is also a great store. From the two negative reviews here, it sounds like the pharmacy is the trouble spot. I don't deal with the pharmacy. If I did my stars might be fewer. Every employee I've had the pleasure of dealing with on the floor has been respectful, courteous, helpful, & willing to go the extra mile. They don't just tell you where to find an item you ask about; they take you to it unless you say something like, "Just tell me which aisle". Even then it's hard to get them not to lead you to your desired item. The deli, bakery, seafood, and meat departments are equally accommodating. I was expecting a lot when this store opened, after shopping So. FL stores, where Publix originated, for a couple of decades plus. The people here have not let me down. Publix is a fantastic grocery store with very high standards and equally high expectations of their employees. So VERY glad to finally have Publix in Pell City!! read more
