The town meeting hall... this is the place to come to see or be seen... Walmart is the social hub. It is very amazing to me the amount of people who just are standing around talking here. I mean for long periods of time... shoppers and employees alike! It is like a gathering. I mean it's Walmart. Make a play date or something for Gods sake! Just let us serious shoppers get around and get what we need. Walmart is the place that has most everything at a decent price. No exception here. This particular store was well kept and neat. Still can't find employees and when you do you'll be lucky if they are chit chatting. Shooting the breeze without a care in the world... getting paid to gossip. Restocking our cooler for drinks for the rest of the drive, we found a nice display of Bubly waters with flavors we've not seen before but we had trouble locating the energy drinks. A very nice young man who was stocking led us all the way from the very back to the coolers in the self-checkout. About half-way across the store and he did it with a smile. So very kind and while that is supposed to be the Walmart way, we don't see it often. Store was well stocked and quite busy for a Saturday night. Some of the registers did have queues, but there were a lot of registers open. Self-checkout worked well. Store was clean and while the cart corrals needed attention, they were getting it. I don't understand how so many people go to self check out with carriages so full while people with less than 20 items have to wait. I know of stores in 2 states that only allow people with 10 items are allowed to use self checkout. Store policy. Why can't other Walmarts have this policy. Even grocery stores have this policy. Going to hurt a lot of the other Pell City businesses since Walmart won't allow Truckers to park here anymore for their mandatory 10 hour rest break overnight. Hotels, Restaurants, Entertainment, and other stores will lose out because of this bad decision as well... so sad they hurt and prohibit the ones that deliver goods and keeps this country running. Placed an order for pickup. Checked in and over 45 minutes later no one had even checked to see why I was still parked there despite updating it multiple times. I took my wife's car to the Pell city Walmart tire and lube. We bought a set of Michelin tires from Walmart and paid for lifetime rotation and balance. I arrived just after 2pm. There were several cars parked nearby but still lots of parking spaces that were vacant. I wanted to have the tires rotated and balanced. I was told by man and a lady standing at the service desk inside that they were full up for the rest of the day. They close at 7pm. They said they only had 1 man working and wouldn't have time to get to another car the rest of the day. I asked about bringing the car back early tomorrow morning. The woman at the desk said, lots of people are bringing their cars back tomorrow morning. So basically, she was saying "don't come back " and I won't! read more

Overall its a Walmart, but my specific complaint is about the groceries to go workers. Now I'm not talking about the run off the mill complaints like how some of them block up the aisles with their carts, or how they don't want to be bothered with questions like "excuse me, but where's the (fill in the blank)" those are all just normal Walmart grocery pick up worker stuff that's annoying, but today a young man coming from the store into the foyer headed to the room where they stage their cart orders saw me coming in with a cart I was obviously going straight in and he cut out in front of me to turn into the staging room. Very rude, no politeness, just rudeness from some of these young Walmart order takers. So I've decided I'm going to do more shopping at Target and Publix and Aldi's. This is the first time in forty years I've posted a negative review or complaint. At the Wal-Mart in Pell City, AL today I purchased about twenty items and went through the checkstand. The total was higher than I expected, so I looked at the receipt, noting that beer priced at $16.47 (or so) on the rack was listed for $20.42 on the tape. The checker walked to customer service to get help, and a representative came out to find out what was the matter. I began to explain, but was interrupted - the representative took the receipt and went to the back of the store. Returning, she said that the beer was priced correctly and I asked if the location was the same as where I observed the price - and I was interrupted again. Examining the now-returned receipt, I noted that a CO detector that had been marked on the rack at about $16 appeared on the tape as $24.97 and asked her to verify. This made her quite unhappy, but she took the product and walked to the back of the store again. When she returned she seemed quite angry and exclaimed that the item was priced correctly. I tried to explain that I was sure the rack pricing was in error, but she interrupted me again. I said I'd like to return it and asked if she could handle that for me. She directed me to the end of the returns line and stormed away from the conversation saying, "you called me a liar twice!" I had plenty of time to chat with other customers in the service / returns line, so I asked questions. "Are you regular shoppers here?" (Yes.) " Have you even run across items on the shelves that are priced lower than you paid at checkout?" (Yeah, it happens.) That's when I decided to raise a flag by writing this, because I'd never experienced it. I've shopped at perhaps 250 Wal-Marts over the past fifteen years, and I've always been treated with respect. But not today. Perhaps Margot was having a bad day, but more likely she was thrust into a position, or even a career, for which she was poorly suited and insufficiently trained. This is clearly a management problem, and I doubt that she is a member of management. A culture that allows overt rudeness - and blaming of customers for the store's own issues is a shame. A staff whose training doesn't include listening skills will cost an employer revenue and efficiency. And the failure to monitor pricing and conform SKUs and rack labels will undermine customers' trust. I like Wal-Mart, and I hate to see its reputation risked by the negligence - or corruption - of a local store's management. read more

Well I just left this establishment with a less then desirable experience. Not only did it take 45 minutes to check out, at the very end we were not sold beer because one person who doesn't even drink did not have his id. Management was not accommodating or polite. I have 4 different vehicles in my household that has tires that were ordered from and installed at Walmart. After working 3rd shift at my job I went to Walmart In Pell City Alabama to get my tires rotated And balanced on my car. I arrived at 7:40 AM And was asked did I have an appointment?? I then asked them when did Walmart start doing appointments ? He said we've been doing it since covid started. And was told I can make you an appointment for tomorrow because we are slammed . There was one Dodge truck in the tire Bay And one Honda Civic waiting waiting for service. There were no other vehicles in the parking lot other than mine. From now on for my 4 vehicles I will make an appointment So they can rotate all my tires Since I have lifetime rotation on all 4 cars. And when I have them balanced I will go across the street to city tire and let them get my money. And from now on I will be buying my tires from city tire in Pell City. read more

By far, the worst Walmart around. The staff is rude, unhelpful and will mostly ignore you. Sam Walton would close the store down. An employee literally walked in front of me blocking the isle and was yelling to an employee behind me, having a conversation. When I said excuse me and tried to go by, she completely ignored me and went on with the yelling. Their stocking is horrible and are constantly moving items to different locations. Multiple items don't have prices or a barcode so you can check the price yourself. Good luck asking an employee the price, they just stare at you dumb-founded. Drive a little further to Leeds or Oxford and save yourself the aggravation. read more

I shop regularly at this store since it has opened. I purchase groceries auto and all the other departments here and have always been treated very well here except foe perhaps 2 or 3 times. I have on the majority of my visits been treated with the utmost respect. I do not think there is anything wrong with a little rudeness from time to time since they do employ a large number of younger employees.It is a very well known fact that everyone has to learn to deal with the public. I am well known all over Pell City for I am aformer public worker myself and most of the time people are on the best of their behavior working or shopping in the public.
