I just took a huge bite of the nastiest yogurt ever. It was Publix brand. I bought it yesterday, May 5, 2027. I did check the date and it was June 2. Now I'm realizing the date is June2, 2026! Never dawned on me to check the year. I think I'm going to throw up. Disappointed during visit on Nov. 19, 2025. Eat in area not clean or stocked. The soup area had five scorched pots on burners. The napkins and utensils needed refills. The food purchased from hot food deli was cold. This store used to be a nice place to stop by for a nice evening dinner at 6:30 PM. The management has dropped the ball. read more

I am usually a Food lion/ Aldi girl, but this Publix is only 10 minutes from my house so I've been coming here more often. This store is always so cleaned and organized and the employees go above and beyond to help you and have a smile on their face while doing it. They are a little pricier than food lion and Walmart but it is so worth it. I especially love the hot bar snd Antipasto bar. They also have very fresh seafood and steak. I exclusively get my fresh oysters as well as jar oysters from here. They also have very good and fresh sushi and on Wednesdays they are only $5. read more

Disappointed does not describe my Sisters bakery experience at Publix. She placed a beautiful cake order on Friday May 31, 2024 and received notification that it would be ready on Friday June 07,2024. However, when she arrived to pick up her cake it was not ready. The manager then proceeded to state that the cake was ready on the 1st and it my sister forgot to pick it up. There was no phone call to inquire about why the cake was not picked up at all. In fact the manager spent more time passing the blame around on her employees versus apologizing and making mends. A subpar cake was provided(see photos of the damaged cake) and full price was still required. This 13th birthday was supposed to be special and now we have this horrible experience to replace it. We will be taking our business to Kroger now on. read more

I have held off writing a review, as at first, Publix was new, and new to the area. Next times, thought it may have been a fluke. This is at least our tenth visit, and things have only gotten worse. I decided to go on a "diet", so have been eating super healthy and minimally. We Decided to "splurge" tonight on filets. $22/lb. we bought two smallish filets, for $20 total, knowing the dogs would enjoy the leftovers. This is AFTER we waited 5 minutes...twice...(originally wanted seafood, but waited there five minutes with no one ever coming around) ...at the meat counter trying to get some assistance. The filets looked pretty roughly cut to me, but husband picked them out and they were about the size we were looking for, so rather than continue to wait, we put them in the cart and moved on. Hubs wanted "wink" for his usual evening drink, they had none(they carry it). I wanted broth bones, nothing (although they supposedly cut meat. There) So far, not a bad evening. We cooked the steaks as we always do, served them up, and at first taste, both husband and I determined the only place these steaks were fit for was the trash. Thankfully, Our dogs decided they would eat them, but only for an extra cookie in the am. These were the most fibrous, gristly steaks we have EVER tried to eat. We had issues with the ribeyes from Publix before, but assumed it was a fluke. NEVER AGAIN. When we got to the registers (around 1:30 on a Friday afternoon), there were three registers open, with at least four people in each lane, all with loaded carts. The self checkouts were lined up. We have no issue with spending money on good food. But $22/lb for gristly (and OBVIOUSLY NOT filet) meat is an abhorrence. Shame on you, Publix. I will be calling to report this directly to the local Management, but not sure I'll get any response even then. Picture will e posted, too. Avoid at all costs! read more

Publix, being a new grocery store, had me excited for what's in store! They certainly had a nice looking layout and design, which makes it a more enjoyable shopping experience. They share similarities with other grocery stores, but have other redeeming qualities. Those being that they have a speedy checkout process, a pharmacy, and all their staff was kind. Also, they have a deli, sushi, salad bar, and a Starbucks inside! The only real con I could think of was that the items were a tad more expensive than usual. However, being that the items are local, it makes up for it and you know you're supporting local businesses. In the end, a great place to shop for groceries (hey, some people are serious about their groceries) and can be a one-stop-shop for most occasions. I look forward to seeing our local business thrive with this new addition on the block! read more

Publix's motto is "where shopping is a pleasure" and this location certainly lives up to that claim. I visited this location for a weekly grocery run and was very impressed with my experience. As we are in the middle of a pandemic, grocery shopping has been a source of stress, but at Publix, everything is smooth sailing! The store associates provide customer service on a level rivalled only by Disney. I was given a freshly sanitized cart as I walked into the store and appreciated how they implemented measures to keep both customers and associates safe. The prices are a little higher than Kroger, but you can frequently find buy one get one free deals, which is nice. They have a large selection of conventional and organic produce available and everything is fresh! The bakery and deli also have an impressive selection. The highlight of my experience was the staff. Every single associate I encountered was polite, friendly, and working very hard to create a pleasant shopping experience. This location is a little bit out of my way, but I will be back to shop soon as the experience was an absolute delight. read more

This particular Publix is the worst by far. I have to check dates on everything because each time there is expired food that we find before (sometimes after) going into the cart. They are terrible about pulling bad food from the shelf! I have found things that expired months before, moldy bread, eggs expired by weeks, etc. Today the customer service matched their usual food quality. I got to the checkout and realized the salsa had expired 2 weeks ago and I showed the girl at the self service checkout (at 12:25pm on 2/25/24) and she said "ok, thanks, you want to go get yourself a new one or just take it off"? I said neither, my husband just had surgery and my back is a mess" and she said "so we will just take it off then"....WHAT???? Anyway, time to drive a little farther to literally ANY other store. read more

This location is right near some friends of ours, so it's become our go to place for anything we forgot to pack. Out of milk, bananas, diapers? Jump over here and pick some up. I don't know that I have a ton to say. It's a grocery store. It has all the stuff. Their grab and go dinner station is pretty good, and everyone there has been very helpful and friendly every time I've been. I really like Publix sandwiches (when the order is correct). The store is always very clean, neat, and organized. They typically have a few items on a decent sale. They also have a great glass bottle soda selection. However, they have got to have the most expensive chicken tenders in the entire world!! Seriously miss Ukrops (& even Martins) for having 12 tenders for $9.99...Publix sells theirs by the pound and they typically end up being almost $2 a tender! Super disappointing because hot deli food is such a life saver for mom's and busy families eating on the go! Overall, Publix has the potential to be my go-to grocery store. I'm hoping they start knocking down some of their prices once they have been here for a little while. read more

Still in their Grand Opening, I can see why the parking lot was full. Staff are jolly and helpful if you're in need of something you can't find. The produce selection is really good. I've been to two other stores and couldn't find figs...I asked an associate and within 2.5 seconds, he was handing them to me. Then I stumbled upon a wine sampling. Yum! I was only in there for a few items, so although I did not shop the entire store I am impressed with the short visit I had. OK my review will probably improve over time this is only their second day open. I believe every person in Chesterfield County is at this grocery store today. Publix has done an incredible job renovating this building from what it used to be. They have incredible man power and staffing to help out their first opening rush. My only problem with Publix is that it's kind of just run-of-the-mill for every other grocery store that is opening up in Richmond now. There is all kinds of take-out options and a Starbucks here also. I am so livid. We use this Publix (on Hull Street Rd in Midlothian, CA) regularly as our main grocery store. I have had to point out to employees a few times outdated food on the shelves. I have brought items home without looking at the date that was way past it's sell by. Today was the LAST straw. I bought buns to go with our Quorn "chicken" patties and this is what they looked like. Thank goodness I turned it over or I would have bitten into the moldy bun. I have never had a store that it is so common to have out dated food. This is dangerous and disgusting! All I can say is, PLEASE open a location in Northern Virginia-Fairfax County. This is hands down the nicest grocery store I have ever seen. If this were located in Alexandria, I would probably stop visiting Wegmans. It has the selection and the price, without the sea of people that haven't learned to walk to the right of the aisle. The layout is also more convenient to navigate, and the staff are friendly. Of course this location is much more suburban than my home, so maybe it will be no different if it were up north. Ive been waiting to come here. I finally made it afyer a year and a half (long story) the layout of the store is ok it looks bigger outside than it is inside. I wasnt impressed with a lot of things prices included,for instance I buy a pack or kind breakfast bars at walmart for $2.48 Publix has it for $3.99 so all in all the prices her are higher than walmart and krogers. I probably wont be going out my way unless I need something thats hard to get. I must say Im a little disappointed I expected it to be like the Miramar one I used to go to in Florida but I guess its my fault for setting my expectations too high. I am a fan of Publix's. I like the store and the vast selection of products they offer. Staff is always courteous and professional. This location is super convenient. I normally purchase my steaks from The Fresh Market on Hull. But yesterday I decided to give Publix a try. I purchased 2 beautiful Ribeye's. Today I started to marinate the steaks and when I turned them over they were actually rotten on the bottom side. Absolutely horrible looking and smelling. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed. I thought that quality was one of the core values at Publix's. I would expect something like this from Food Lion but Publix's. These steaks were selected from the case by the employee and there is no way that they did not know these steaks were bad. NO MORE MEAT FROM PUBLIX'S. VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER. Super disappointed. I was so excited to have Publix come yet it has just disappointed. The workers in the deli are extremely slow! The hot food area is even worse. On several occasions, I have found food that was not up to par to be sold. For example, when getting some grated cheddar cheese from the cold section, the first bag I picked up was moldy. Not good. Came here on opening day and was bowled over with the number of samples and great courteous and willing staff. I must have had over 4 or more staff say:" Hi Welcome to Publix". I absolutely love love the sandwich bar. The sandwich hoagie breads are light and airy, the meats very fresh and lots of toppings to choose from. Well worth the extra price of getting a fresh sandwich created with care. Produce section is like a farm exploded. Very well organized - high quality fruits and veggies. Not one shelf seemed thin as it was well stocked. Now for the meat aisle. It's again well stocked but very $$$. If your looking for a special item chances are you'll find it here. Seafood counter is very nice and on par with others in the area. The grocery aisles are well stocked but rather narrow good variety of brands and selections. Publix does offer many organic, gluten and vegan items. It's a long hike for the dairy and milk as it's tucked all the way over in the corner end. One great thing is that the dairy aisle has closed refrigeration units this will keep items more fresh rather then open counters and the not so efficient cooling systems of yesteryear. So yes you'll have to open and close doors to get items. But I equate this to Publix lowering their carbon footprint so kudos to them. Health & beauty as well as the pharmacy it's at the left hand most side of the store. The checkouts are very fast and friendly. And yes they will take your groceries to your car. This isn't your Publix stores that you see when your in FLA it's as these stores are on steroids and are giving the behemoth Kroger's something to really think about! read more

I went to Publix to try and grab a sub for lunch and saw the had a Hot Havana sub that sounded appetizing. I approached the area where you order subs and waited for someone to assist. About a minute of waiting I realized that they were understaffed but the sub sounded delicious so I was in it for the long haul. Eventually they are able to come over to assist me as there were quite a few people waiting for deli items). Once they arrive I find out that they are out of the materials to make the sub I want and would have to go prepare some, I pass for the sake of time and hastily select a chicken tender sub which they also don't have on hand so the kind lady apologizes and runs off to retrieve the right items. I finally get my sub and try to pay for it... their payment systems get hung up when you select a language to pay for your food. Total time to get a sub 20 minutes. It is apparent that the deli/sub area is understaffed to the point they can't restock things they are out of. This rating would be lower if it wasn't for how accommodating the lady who made my sub tried to be. read more

Customer service is definitely not up to Ukrop's standards. Everyone was saying it was similar to when RVA had Ukrop's. I actually worked in customer service at Ukrop's in high school and college. Anyway! My husband and I went to Publix to get a gift card and a few other last minute candy items for our son. Not sure if this location has a lot of theft but the lady at customer service when I explained that I would take the gift card as she was bagging everything snappily said oh well you have to pay first as my husband was paying she tried to then recover her obvious profiling by asking how old our kids were. Understand you have to be careful and all but it's your delivery on how you talk to people/your customers. She shouldn't be working in customer service or needs better training. read more

I want to start off by saying food selection was great, got everything I needed BUT as I was checking out I asked to buy a bag of ice (I am from out of town & where I'm from you buy the ice at register and pick it up on the way out) the woman at the register says she doesn't know where the ice is and the baggy boy says it's at the back of the store. I say alrighty and head to the back of the store to find the ice. Walked around searching, could find nothing??. Walked up and down the isles and finally found it at the front of one of the isles. The warm food here is nasty, 15$ for Barbeque ribs and fries, and they tasted like they are not meant to be eaten. And don't let me say anything about the souse they give you with the ribs it's pure vinegar and not tasty at all, 15$ can get you a lot more. People are great. When I heard the news that Publix was coming to the Richmond area, I could not have been more excited, it mad up for my sadness that Martin's had closed. Growing up in Miami, Publix was part of life, had fond memories going with my pushing that second shopping cart full of groceries and I got the pennies that spun out of the register into the cup and ran to the penny gum ball machine. And then would weight myself. All Publix's had a gigantic light green scale at the exit door. Anyway. So I went to the Publix.com site, so excited to see all the BOGO items, anyone that complained that Publix was overpriced would save just buying one BOGO item and your even with moneywise, click the items on my digital shopping list, along with the digital coupons other stuff that you have to go see for yourself on the site. Many items that I used were on the BOGO list and I had coupons for the same product, so I saved additional money on that item that I paid for. Score! Their Customer Service is out of this world. And to have a someone to bag my groceries and walk them to my car. Am I dreaming - No, that's Publix way. The produce is fresh and clean and laid out beautifully. The bakery, some of the best pasties and cakes. The French bread the Cuban bread (try it you'll love it), the wine selection Mark will help you find the right wine, the meat department Jay is so helpful he has helped me find certain cuts that would go better for Pot Roast. Stock people say hello on the aisles as you pass and ask if you need help finding anything. They carry Boar's Head, but let me tell you, the Publix brand meats are on par with Boar's Head quality and taste. Blake who works at open front office, I always make sure I looks to see if he is there to says Hello to, he helped me out once when he say me struggling with a health issue I was having and I will never forgot the kindness he showed me. So when my items are rung up and the cashier tells me how much I saved, I think about I did not have to push my way through a cart in the middle of an aisle that is too small to go around or food that was spilled on the floor or seeing frozen or refrigerated food on a shelf wondering if it's going back to that freezer case or refrigerated case or thrown away. Have purchased chicken and opened it a it smelled when I just bought it that day. Gross. I didn't have to check to make sure the items I bought have an already expired, didn't have to walk a city block to go get dog food or a tooth brush. I shopped at the new Publix on Hull Street Road. The store is beautiful and the staff were all very friendly. My only complaint is that they should provide paper bags with handles so that they can be carried with ease. read more
