Since we don't have an H-Mart for some reason this store is the next best thing. They sell food from all around the world and have the best and freshest produce around. Their prices are also really good and affordable. They are lacking in the customer service department at the registers. The boys that work with the seafood and meats are really nice but the cashiers aren't.

This store has a wide variety of Asian and Hispanic foods, snacks, produce and items for your home and kitchen. In the back of the store there is meats and a seafood section with live and fresh fish. The fish area has a pretty strong fish smell but you can also smell the cleaning products which is nice too. There is a huge area for ramen and ramen items you can throw in like seaweed strips and more. They have several different selections of kimchi in the cooler and in the aisles in cans and I grabbed a few different ones to try. In the front of there store there is a small restaurant with a bunch of different foods that is hot and a little sitting area where you can enjoy it there if you want. The store was a little dirty as far as the floors and coolers and a lot of items did not have prices on them so I had to assume for a few things I got. All over this is a very nice store for items you would not find in a regular grocery store.

New Grand Mart has served me well for many years now. The weekends can be really busy so I try to do my shopping Sunday evenings or during the week. Like most grocery stores or markets it's easy to discover a few things that you like here more than somewhere else. Sometimes it's a fresher selection of produce or a cheaper selection a vegetable. Service and cleanliness are better than their local competitors as far as international markets go and prices are food. After a busy day or before deliveries the shelves can be a bit bare but hasn't usually been a problem. The parking lot needs help but that's not up to the store or its owners to take car of but felt it was worth mentioning. We've probably been here a hundred times over the years and even though it's not as convenient to get to anymore there's still things we come here for specifically.

Each time I believe I reached the final frontier of interesting stores in Richmond, somehow I'm introduced to something new! The New Grand Market is a 3 store chain, with 2 locations in Richmond. It is at once an Asian and Latin supermarket, with goods serving each group equally. They honestly have items I've not seen elsewhere, including fruits, veggies, packaged and frozen items. They also have a restaurant in the front that based on clientele must be good and will be tried on another visit! I'm told that if you buy their fresh fish, they'll fry it for you! Which brings me to the only negative, which resulted in my subtraction of one star, was the smell around the fish area that was breathtaking in a bad way! In the end, a really great addition to our grocery shopping circle!

I'm just super happy that they opened an international store. They have many other locations, but finally one in Richmond! It's clean, well-stocked, and the prices are great. They have Korean, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Spanish, Vietnamese, and many more ethnic items... The staff is friendly and their prices are reasonable and cheaper on some of their fresh produce than regular stores in town. There's a reasonable selection of frozen items and fresh produce. The selection on the noodles, seafoods, snacks, and candies were impressive and I haven't been disappointed in any of my purchases. I love walking up and down the store reading labels and discovering new items. Pretty good selection of pan items too. My family and I like to do a lot of hot pot and hibachi at home and you can basically find everything you really need for traditional hot pot: veggies, different kinds of fish balls/cake, thinly sliced beef, and asian satay sauce. I've been to a few asian grocery stores in the area and I have to say New Grand's is the largest in variety and has the best quality produce. Since the owners are Korean, they actually have some really good made kimchi! They also have a small Korean restaurant inside! The food is alright. I enjoyed the noodles there...but that's for another review. So if you want a drink or a food to buy before you go shopping for groceries. This is definitely a one stop for a quick dining, and groceries shopping all at once!

Jja jjang myeon and sweet & sour pork (tang su yuk) combo, shortened to "tang jja myeon" on the menu.

This is by far the best Asian grocery store in town, dare I say probably the best Korean food in town as well?

Taco stop #3…read more Located almost across the street from Taqueria Panchito & certainly walking distance to one of Richmond's fav strip joint is Latinos Unidos. Please note, when u pull into the strip, if your looking for the restaurant, its @ the far left of center... the big place @ right is only a bodega. As typical of all taco stops reviewed thus far... the staff are very welcoming & seems to have 1 person on staff who speaks very good English. Tacos are very good looking, with white corn tortillas. Fixings that come with are a good Verde salsa & a Pico de galo. The beef is seasoned/ marinated nicely & not too greasy. The meat is then mixed with roasted to perfection sweet onion... & mind you I really loath onions other than as seasoning ... for most I'm sure these onions will really make the taco The menu, like the joint down the street, is extensive & has lots of things I'm sure to try at some other point... but for now... you guessed it, its gonna be Carne Asada tacos (beef strips). This place is a bit different than others I've visited in that it appears to possibly have a bar/late night crowd. Complete with flat screens hanging from angle iron strips (I guess they didn't know there is such thing as a TV mount), a projection video system & live sound PA... I'm sure this is as close as RVA is getting to a seedy Mexican Canteena. Loaded with pictures of the dishes & drink options, you might 1st think you wandered into a Chinese food joint but I can assure you their skin is brown. So as for the taco scale, gotta say, this place is close to the top but with only checking out 3 dumps thus far... I'm still reserving opinion. The only thing I'll give you is they are much better tasting (based on 1 visit) than Taqueria Panchito across the street... The fact you don't have to cross 6 lanes of dangerous traffic to get the the strip joint also adds a point to the score.

I have no idea what that means, but they have good sandwiches. What to get: A Prosciutto sandwich with Fresh Mozzarella added, maybe What else: Expect an upcharge to add Fresh Mozz How to improve: Don't upcharge so much for Fresh Mozz (sigh) Nick's is a little run-down grocery store which sort-of feels like walking into a check-cashing shop or an urban convenience store that just happens to have a wonderful old-school NY-NJ style Italian deli inside. The deli itself is great, and makes a lot of awesome sandwiches for decent prices. As I said, I don't like the weird upcharges for certain ingredients, but so be it. It makes the prices of a sandwich soar from decent to ridiculous. The sandwiches aren't altogether authentic Italian NY-NJ style, but they are very good. I loved the parts of it that I had fresh, however when I had the rest of the sandwich a little later it had gotten extremely squidgy and soggy because they use a regular loaf of bread rather than anythng hard or Italian. Again, makes it less authentic but still very tasty. Despite these remarks, I haven't had a sandwich this good in the Richmond area before, so you should give it a try. And if it were Niche Produce, then they'd only sell unusual and hard to get hipster vegetables and sandwiches. Whereas if it wer Nix Produce, it would close down soon. And if it were Knickers Produce then I would have torn them down a lot more quickly and intensely than I did in this review.
