Latinos Unidos was recommended to me by some of the guys at La Sobracita for great papusas. I'm willing to trust anyone who owns a Salvadorian bakery of that quality when it comes to food, and they did not disappoint.
Except for the hungry med students, everyone inside was speaking Spanish--always a great sign when looking for ethnic food. The menu looked amazing, but since I came mostly for papusas, that's what I ordered. I do intend to come back to try some other traditional Salvadorian food, such as tamales, empanadas, and the various meat dishes.
The papusas were wonderful. Packed with beans, cheese and meat, they were hot, soft, and incredibly flavorful. For $3 including tip, I got two and was completely full. The other menu items are also very affordable if going for a more substantial meal.
And for dessert - get a quezadilla from La Sobracita down the street. You will not regret it. read more
