Really glad I found this Publix. Relatively quiet and more stocked compared to others in the area. I was glad to find cashiers that were actually waiting for me to get their line as opposed to standing in the slow "10-items or less" line behind the person with 25 items. I WAS disturbed by the security guard leaning on the hand-baskets and a loud mouthed employee screaming across the store with non-store related conversation, but that was not so bad given that this store was easy to navigate, half empty and well stocked. read more

The staff needs to be replaced because​ they are unhelpful and extremely lazy. They work while on facetime. They do not want to answer questions in ANY language. They treat customers as​ a necessary evil. I truly do not trust them with my food. The Deli area is a mess. The ladies and gents working behind the Deli counter do not look clean. The deli area does not look sanitized​ and orderly. I understand the need for special pets but I suspect that some pet owners are taking advantage of the sobe relaxed environment. Nice Publix in the Sunset Harbor neighborhood of Miami Beach. Very clean, great customer service and everything else you would want from a grocery store. My favorite part about this particular Publix is that it has a multiple story parking garage. This comes in handy because often it's tough to find street parking. Also the parking is FREE. Yeyy. Also located in close proximity to Whole Foods and Fresh Market. Can definitely hit all your grocery shopping needs in this vicinity. read more

I find one of the obstacles for shopping there is overcoming the employee resistance; for example they have a policy of giving items away for free in exchange for the wrong pricing on the shelf. But whenever I point this out to them, I have to deal with their grudging attitudes. Other reviewer's have pointed out how bad the service is, And it's very very true. There's no sense of helping you quickly, and they throw up their hands without trying to find out how to help you. And the prices are just crazy high: over six dollars for 8 ounces of Kefir, $3.75 for non-organic apples, north of $10 for salads straight off the truck with no stressing, 12 bucks for a box of fried chicken... There's no excuse for it except at the residents around there have million dollar condos and rarely complain about prices. So in summary it's surly help, needing to have an armed guard on the premises at all times to disturbances, and reflexively adding two dollars to every price no matter what the product. a simple café con leche and pastry will set you back five bucks, and you'll be waiting 20 minutes for the opportunity. read more

Although this Publix has been here for years, I still refer to it as the NEW Publix to differentiate it from the OLD Publix on Dade Blvd. I have to drive past the old Publix every time I go to the New Publix. I think the old Publix is slightly cheaper. But I like the lighting and variety at the new Publix better. I'm in trouble with my classification though. If you like roller coasters with heart attack-inducing screeching halts, you'll enjoy the parking garage. You drive up a steep ramp, and because everyone drives like a maniac, there are sudden stops at unsuspecting moments, so watch out. Once you're in, it's your standard grocery store with newer, upgraded fixtures/design. We came here to pick up ingredients for a rotisserie chicken salad. The Mojo Rotisserie Chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious. We found everything else for the salad - prices are a bit on the high side but you get a pretty big selection. We also came here for flowers, but the selection was minimal and most of the bouquets were wilting - not suitable to give as a gift. If the prices were more reasonable, I'd be willing to give it 4 stars... read more

There are three Publix supermarkets that are south of 20th St. in Miami Beach. I've shopped at them all and many times will shop at the Publix on Alton and fifth. I like the Publix on Alton and fifth as there are other stores in the complex and parking is free for the first two hours! This Publix for this review is located in Sunset Harbour, A great growing trendy neighborhood that is one of the hottest areas in South Beach. This particular Publix I refer to as the Jetsons Publix. It has a very unique architecture where you drive up an outdoor ramp and park above the store. Parking is free at this Publix which is hard to come by in South Beach. While the store seems a little smaller than most Publix, I usually have no issue finding everything that I need, with the exception of oddball items. The staff is always very nice and welcoming. There is usually the least amount of foot traffic of the three Publix markets at this location which is great because the Publix on fifth can be a zoo of tourists. Mostly locals shop here. It also gets it's Jetsons name from me for the cool escalator that takes your shopping cart up to the upper level parking garage like it's out of the future. read more

Publix should discourage or stop customers using cell phones in their stores. Many ignorant and careless people use their cell phones while they are shopping. The isles in the stores are narrower than 6 feet. When you are passing by another shopper who is using her or his cell phone in the isles, talking, shouting, laughing exposes you to their exhaled saliva droplets. Yesterday a shopper was bending over the open vegetable shelves, talking on the phone and laughing. The tiny droplets that come out ones mouth can spread COVID-19 to others and land on top of the exposed food items. I am surprised that Publix, a highly aware and extremely clean supermarket does not realize the health risk of phone using in their stores. read more

This used to be my one stop shop (until becoming vegan). The store had a simple layout, and ample parking, although some may think the upper parking is an annoyance. I refer to this Publix as the space-ship! The isles are much wider than the older shop down the road. Just be sure to come early if you want the best selection of produce, and try to avoid crowded Sunday evenings! However, my new diet has limited my options at this store, but Publix is still the best choice for staples. An added bonus is their great weekly specials, stock up when the deal is right! read more

I really want to give this store a high rating, because I've been coming here for at least ten years...but I can't. Whatever you do, don't get any expensive meats from the deli...they clearly don't know what to do with them or how to cut them. The picture shows what my $26/lb prosciutto was reduced to...pathetic. This is the best publix on the beach with w-i-d-e aisles and an excellent view from the roof of the parking garage. The employee s are all so nice, especially the man with the island accent in the bakery. He's so friendly every time! They have a pharmacy, a bakery, a prepared foods area, a scale (for humans) and a butcher. Of course the buy one get one free deals are the best! It's not Wegmans of the NE part of the country but its still great! read more

There is nothing like a Publix. I used to live in Boston and I would always mention how Publix was the best supermarket around and how other supermarkets just didn't compare. I mean, Publix carries Boar's Head, it has one of the most amazing hot food sections, and the nicest staff. I remember the days when there was only one Publix on Miami Beach, and we were all so relieved to find out that a new one was being built on West Avenue. Since it's construction, another Publix on 5th street has tried to take its thunder, but in my eyes, this one is still the best. read more

This is where I go to see good looking men and women without paying a cover charge. The hot yoga moms and gay body builders abound. Also, their customer service is astounding. I once returned a "cooked" bbq turkey where I had lost the receipt and had already cut it up into tupperware (it was still raw). When I brought the turkey back not only did the manager return my money in cash (I had paid on a credit card) but he personally called Empire (the brand) and told them about the mishap and told them they needed to be more careful since someone could get samonella. read more

This is by far my fav publix only prob is I can't go in the garage because my car is too high. But as far as service and wide range of selection they are second to none. Even during holiday season etc I never complained about anything missing and they have this quinoa salad super yummy there I can't find in any other publix..also they have the rare fresh cheese croquettes which are very hard to find too. AVOID THE DELI AT ALL COSTS!!! I've been here numerous times, but Todays visit upset me the most. This deli is notorious for taking forever to make a sub, and the person making it will act as though you've done them a major disservice because they now have to do their job. Today though I showed up at 9:02, wanted some chicken strips (which they still had 6 of in the case) so I could make a quick salad, and the person in charge of the hot case screamed at me from across the room that "WE'RE CLOSED!". After my boyfriend asked what the problem was only to be met with the same response "We're closed" numerous times, we decided to get a sub. When promote I asked if I could get a chicken tender sub, to which the deli person said "we're out", so I opted for turkey. While the deli person was slicing the turkey for my sandwich I noticed another deli costumer that came after me being served, and guess what he was able to get, the chicken strips. I'm done with this Publix, it's dirty, there's no costumer service, and I'm just over it. read more

I live across the street and shop there at least one to two times a day. The same people except for the chef, the dairy person, and the two butchers, never smile, never acknowledge me unless I do the greeting. I have spoken to managers about this and they say what can I do. My friend who goes to the publix on Biscayne says that they call her by her name and she doesn't go there as often as I do. Another friend goes to a different publix where they ask you if you need anything when you are wandering the aisles. When I moved to Kendall from NY, over 30 years ago, I was so impressed with the service oriented store but not here. This publix gets an extra star above the one I usually go to because of the parking garage where I can always find a spot versus driving around for 10 minutes just to get parked which kills me. I was between giving 3 or 4 stars, but decided to go with 4 because technically there's nothing wrong with this Publix. But it's hard to really like this store that much when there's a much nicer store right next door (Fresh Market). This Publix sometimes feels like thunder dome. It's not a very large store and can get very crowded. They also appear to have a problem with people parking in their garage and leaving to go to other places in the area. Especially on the weekends, you might have to fight for a parking spot in the garage. The produce section here is usually pretty good, but occasionally everything is rotten/out of stock. read more

People usually have a speacial bond to the grociers they go to maybe several times a week. This is My Grocery. It's pretty new and building looks fancy outside - unfortunately you can't say the same about the inside. I mean, it's not as great as the new Safeways or much less Whole Foods in Northern California. Fresh bread selection is a bit poor, deli is ok, and they didn't have grenadines!! I thought this was going to be just another junkie grocery store, but wow, their bakery and deli are both really fantastic. The bakery had fresh baked Challah bread and a rosemary loaf - both amazing. The deli had some unusual meats and cheeses I hadn't expected - all fantastic quality. My favorite Publix! Although many might find it bizarre, I LOVE coming here every week with my boyfriend. Parking is so simple, I never wait in line too long, and we have a blast running through the isles and racking up savings. The staff is friendly and we often are treated to samples! This a review on the Pharmacy. Don't bother getting your prescription sent here. They take days to full fill medication which it absolutely ridiculous. Someone can get very ill or die. My experience has been horrible that last few months. I need life saving medication and it has taken this pharmacy days to fulfill. I literally had to come in one day crying for them to give me my prescription, if I didn't get it that day I had to go to the ER. read more

I shopped at Publix on 27th ave near the grove for years but now I am out by this publix for work reasons. Its funny that everyone comments on the architecture because when you drive in the lot from the south and park and walk in, you dont even notice the building. Maybe only if youre coming in from mid beach do you notice that. The selection is good, the place is clean and there are not the lines you find in many publix.
