This was our first time shopping at the Midtown Trader Joe's, and it won't be our last. It is one of their larger stores and they have great selections from various other countries that we love to browse. We found everything we were looking for except they didn't have fresh cherries. That was disappointing. Maybe next time. This store is clean and shiny and I saw an employee working at straightening some shelves after customers had messed them up. I like that the TJ stores are organized similarly so that I can find things faster. The employees are very welcoming here with sincere smiles. The ambiance is friendly with good service. A special thank you to Pert at the cashier stand for her very nice and helpful manner. I loved her smile and great attitude. She was very helpful with our 2 full carts of groceries and asked Eden to help us up to the garage and lift the many bags into our trunk. She was very helpful. Kudos to Pert and Eden, who make a great team at TJ's! For your convenience, TJ's is attached to a parking garage and it is free for an hour and a half. An elevator takes you down stairs to TJ's to their entrance lobby where the carts are. You take the same elevator back up to your vehicle. They make it easy for all of us. read more

I am giving this place 2 star strictly due to customer service. For one, the cashier didn't even say hello as a minimum when we checked out. He simply scanned our items and handed us a receipt. We thanked him, and still nothing. All this would've been fine if we didn't have a mishap with the parking attendant. I was under the impression that your receipt was your parking validation. Nope! Apparently, you are supposed to get your ticket validated inside somewhere, maybe with the cashier? I wouldn't know because no one spoke to us or provided basic customer service. The ambiance is great. Modern and well lit The layout of the store and items is difficilt to understand. I don't recall any any directional signs like cereal, coffee, or the like. There are are few selections, IE salad dressings although there are nice out of the ordinary selections. The prices didnt seem like a bargain although on the lower end of market swings (50/50) the food was fresh and good tasting. The atmosphere is BUSY, inside the store and from without. I stocked up on Ezekiel bread, organic arugula mixes, organic hummus, avocados, onions, lemons, limes, and sweet potatoes. It was such a relief to enjoy some home cooked meals after dining out heaps over the last few days. The simple place I stay out in Miami allows me to create some easy meals that feel really nourishing. The employees and management in this store do a terrible job enforcing normal common sense rules and regulations. They allow any type of dog, pet, animal inside the store. It's total chaos and dogs pee and poop on the floor inside the store. Only service dogs are allowed inside the store. Some customers even put dogs inside the shopping carts which is unsanitary and disgraceful. Also some adult was inside using a remote control car toy and driving it around the store up and down the aisles. This is a complete tripping hazard and accident waiting to happen. Last time I went here the gate ticket machine was not working so I never get a parking bar code card . Also For some reason they never have wifi inside the store so this day I decided to go into the store without my cel phone . To my surprise when I'm ready to pay they tell me that I'm supposed to login with into their system to validate my parking use , something I never heard before . So obviously I can't login since I don't have my phone because they never have wifi anyways . What they missed to tell me was that if I leave I will get charge for not validating my parking use . So I left the store , the gate machine completely open , not knowing that without parking validation , TRADER JOES were gonna fine me a $45 for the parking space use and if I take more than 30 days to pay then not only the fine will raise to $85 but also they treated me (in the letter they sent me) telling me that they could booted or even towed my car if I don't pay . ahhhh.. Trader Joes. You already know I'm going to have so much good to say about the company as it's become a necessary stop during grocery hauls for the items that you simply can't get elsewhere (trader joes brand) & at the prices you get them for. I def have a few staple favorites that i'd rather get here instead of Publix. (Things like but not limited to peppers, rice, flowers, salt-less seasonings, their famous frozen section, WINEEEE!! & hear me out!! their spring water). Although they have a solid meats section complete with delicious pre-seasoned options (try the shawarma chicken thighs & korean inspired bool kogi) I don't prefer their meats (except salmon) on a budget because they do tend to be a little pricey. I've become a regular as its close to my job. They seem to take real care in hiring & training employees. The staff is always eager to help & friendly. It's well kept & stocked. I also surprisingly never have to wait too long at check out which is amazing come to think of it because they are often times PACKED but they make it work. They have a parking garage & you can get parking validated. My one gripe!!! Which is not even a fault of the store but a characteristic of midtown. It's a smaller grocery store compared to other chains & can get hectic.. especially with the amount of dogs that come shopping with their owners (in complete violation of the big sign at the front which states ONLY SERVICE ANIMALS, NOT EMOTIONAL SUPPORT) Yall can be considerate & leave the pups home for 30 minutes!! I was excited to find out now there is a Trader Joe's in Midtown! Location is great if you live around the area, you can walk there or park in the garage. I thought it was going to be a little complicated since they share parking with another building but there are clear signs on where to go. You can also choose to park on the street with the pay to park app in case you are going to other places in Midtown. Really convenient when you are shopping and can stop by TJs for a quick snack or drink. In terms of size, I would compare this one to the Miami Beach location. They both seem to have about the same products but I did notice the produce section is a little better at the Miami Beach location. I didn't see that many organic apples or pears. This location also seemed to have more dogs since a lot of people live in the area and go out with their pets. This is a pet friendly store for sure! Staff was nice as always. Today I had a bad experience at TRADER JOE's Midtown. A woman with a mid size dog lost control of the dog and the wind up leash mechanism went flying and hit me in the ankle. The male employee loading the carts into the elevator, apologized for the dog startling me, but I explained the leash mechanism came off the owners wrist and hit me in the ankle area of my left foot. Before leaving the store I went to the Service Desk Christine( Cristine) kinda helped me, Cristine P asked where this happened? 2nd fl elevator landing Was there an employee onsite- YES What did he look like? 5" 9" complaining about helping female employee load the carts, I gave her the requested description, NO follow up Do I see the woman and dog in the store? YES. The woman was now HOLDING the dog in the check out line. Again NO follow up Then she told me they TJ's does not enforce the "service dog rule"( South Beach TJ's) has a sign on service dog s Christine (Cristine) asked all the pertinent questions . 3.5, rounding to a 4. This location is fantastic for me and I'm sure for TJ's! It's especially handy as my local Aldi has been closed for renovations, so the ability to shop at Aldi's slightly more upscale cousin is a gift! First of all, the parking is easy to find and navigate, A+ there! They validate, so you get 90 minutes gratis (although more on that later). The store itself is large for a TJ's, although I have my same complaint about how they organize their inventory (chaotically) and the amount of shelf space devoted to "treat" food versus real food. I will never not be filled with hatred towards TJ's shoppers, but the group at this store is slightly less offensive than the usual! I thought the produce selection was very good. I literally had a fruit-gasm when I saw plums for $0.69 and peaches for $0.89. Negative ding on the signage... that price was per piece, not per pound, but the pleasure orbs were large, so it nearly worked out to a per pound price. The staff was a mixed bag...I typically loathe the over the top cheeriness at TJ's, but here, the cashier was so indifferent and gruff, it warmed my heart! After validating the parking and leaving the garage, the machine asked for $35 for our ~30 minutes of parking! Fortunately, no one was behind us, so we turned around, parked again and went back into the store. The manager at customer service immediately knew what was up; apparently this is a kink that hasn't been worked out yet. She had someone meet us at the gate and swipe us out. Both of these employees' cheerful demeanor and competent attention to the issue was actually appreciated by me! I work in the area and Midtown is a regular stop for errands and lunch, so this TJ's will be a regular stop for me! read more

After it seems YEARS of being taunted by the opening of everyone's beloved Trader Joe's it is finally here but with hours equivalent to that of Omaha Nebraska or some Podunk town in the middle of nowhere... I thought this might just be trial hours but the staff there tells me they have no intention of extending the hours. Who are these people who set the hours?? Does corporate understand where they are located? Do they consider the potential customers & money they are losing ? This newest one is in Midtown surrounded by high-rises with many young people who do things later in the day. Target is a couple blocks away which closes @10 and there are many restaurants, stores, and fitness boutiques surrounding Trader Joe's. Do they not see the earning potential of this market? When I come out of a Solidcore class I would love to run into Trader Joe's which is across the street practically to pick up a bag of groceries on my Vespa & zip back downtown where I live. That's not possible with these ridiculously early hours. Not sure anyone has gotten the memo that Miami is a late night city! Because of corona everything was dumbed down and now nobody seems to want to revive the late night city of America! If not late here- then where? at this rate we will never become a robust and thriving country again because nobody wants to work these extended hours.
