It's ALDIS, and if you don't know it's a German version of Costco married Trader Joe's and had a homely child. You pay a quarter in the cart to unlock its potential and roll on in past boxes that are shelving for those snack and impulse buying moments. Yes they know when you are most vulnerable. You won't recognize brands you love, you will feel like you are in a twilight zone where nothing is familiar in your home town grocers. Even the people are different. A tad bit harried and the staff bark at you if you aren't familiar with the fact they don't like their job, they won't explain anything so don't ask and no they won't help you bag or even give you a bag. This Aldi location finally opened back up after months of renovations and I'm super happy! I've gone twice so far in the past few weeks. I don't notice much of a difference except they added about ten self checkouts and reduced the number of regular checkouts. They have a lot of good products at great prices. I enjoy shopping here except for the fact that it gets super busy and the aisles get really crowded, but if you go at more of an off time it should be okay! read more

I don't really get how this place can get a bad review haha it's a very European style grocery market. Low prices (although they have gone up recently all things considered), your pretty much in your own which I personally like, and a fast check out. For those of you who need to shop at a pretty supermarket palace, ALDI is not for you. This place is all about getting what you need at affordable prices. This doesn't mean you get poor quality however, most of the stuff I've tried has been on par with their name brand equivalents. Yes, it does take some getting used to the fact that there aren't 20 different types of peanut butter to choose from and an entire isle dedicated to sugary processed drinks, once you get over it you discover you really didn't need that in the first place. I'm glad to see that ALDI is pushing into the market to compete with the overpriced competition, it was long overdue. read more

Probably my most favorite place to shop for groceries. It's price is on point and I like that they pay their employees more. You do have to have a quarter to put in a slot to get a cart, which you do get back once you've returned the cart. They do not provide bags, unless you purchase them. I highly recommend you bring your own reusable bag and you can bag them yourself of the side of the store by check out. One thing I will say is I just wish the cashiers would take better care of packing the items in the cart before you pay. This is my only problem I have as they always see my o be in a rush and don't care if they bruise or stack things on top of each other. Thank have you say every time, please be gentle with this or this. This grocery store is no frills, so don't expect rows and rows of anything for one item. It won't happen. It's very no frills. I get all my produce here and great eggs. I wouldn't come here for toiletries or cleaning supplies though. read more

Living in Downtown Miami I'm surrounded by expesive grocery stores, so I always come to this Aldi as it has super affordable prices and food quality is amazing. Only con I have about Aldi is that they do not have a lot of product variety, so instead of having 20 different brands of peanut butter they only have one or two - which is fine by me as sometimes to much variety gets super confusing. Aldi is the poor man's Trader Joe's. Since I don't consider myself part of the TJ's target market, Aldi is perfect for me! The store is definitely disorganized and dingy, but it is not large, so if you don't see something where you think it should be, just keep walking. You may encounter it unexpectedly! They have a decent selection of fresh produce, interesting packaged items, and several shelves devoted to beer and wine. Larry S. even purchased some grass fed beef. I always bring my own bags to Publix, so bringing them here is not a problem for me. The coin op shopping carts were annoying as many of them were not functioning, but I'll take it in exchange for rock bottom prices. I estimate I saved about $40 on a $120 shopping trip. I probably would not go out of my way to shop here since Publix is 1/3 of a mile from my house, but I will definitely stop by when I am in the area. read more

When I found out, Aldi was from the same company as Trader Joe's, I literally did a Happy Dance. I was so excited... Just two blocks from my place! The happy feeling lasted until I actually went to the store.... Aldi is, in my opinion, the poor, poor cousin of the beloved TJ stores. But, don't take me wrong, I didn't mind bringing my own bags or inserting a quarter to get a shopping cart. Nope. I actually like that. What really bothered me, was the fact that the produce and fruits were not in refrigerated cases, and therefore some of the ones I bought were spoiled. I bought a large bag of green onions for $.99, a good deal if you ask me. However, when I opened the bag at home half of the green onions were spoiled. Now I understand how can they offer better prices than Publix. They saved in things like refrigerated cases and we get bad produce. Hmmm.... My recommendation: If you really want to take advantage of Aldi's prices, make sure you carefully check the fruits and veggies before buying them. That way you won't get upset when you open your groceries at home. read more

My first time ever stepping food inside Aldi. I was very impressed with the incredible prices on everything. Fresh veg and other dry goods. Super clean location and friendly staff. Looks like a wholsale warehouse in it's presentation, no frills but who cares when you know you are getting fabulous prices. The wine section is small but amazing selections for the price. I discovered a fantastic Malbec for $4.99 easily better than some of the $12-14 Malbecs in other places. Well done Aldi you have a new fan! read more

There is no question Aldi has the best prices, by far. And most of their products are as good as anywhere. Hard to find tomatoes that have real seeds {like homegrown}. But I do have issues with their milk and sandwich skinny bread. Many times I have bought milk and it goes bad with a few days. And there sandwich skinny bread is stale. Recent bread purchases had bread where I could not pull the two slices apart without them being stuck together to the point you can't use them. Didn't know how bad their bread was until I bought a loaf at Walmarts and it was fresh and a lot better. Other than that I buy most of my groceries at Aldi. Walmart can't come close to their prices {or anyone else as a matter of fact}. Save lots of money on groceries at Aldi. read more

I really enjoy coming to this market. Like other reviewers have stated, it's definitely not a fancy supermarket, but I've found some great quality products for a great price and quantity. Do not forget to come ready with a quarter (for the cart) and some sturdy bags for packaging. They have some aldi bags for sale as well, they're large and handy to keep around. I have grown especially fond of the dried fruits and nuts section, as well as the baked goods. I highly recommend the packaged naan! There is not a lot of assistance within the store itself as most of the workers seem to mostly be there to restock, but I've learned to enjoy walking around every time. Sometimes I'll encounter products that I either did not notice, or were not in stock during my last trip. If you're a fan of hummus, I HIGHLY recommend the pack of four different kinds- (classic hummus, roasted red pepper, cilantro jalapeño, and roasted garlic hummus). It is absolutely amazing. You can find this next to the refrigerated cheese section. I am not a red meat eater so I can not comment of the quality of their meats. I've knocked off a star for the lack of space, and for the two times Ive had to walk around the market with my heavy grocery bags, due to the cart theft situation they were going through. (It has gotten better since) I'd like to add that on several occasions I have used my credit card here with no problem. read more

ALDI Grocery's stores are the Great! I've been to Europe many times and always wished we had grocery stores like Aldi back in US and I'm glad there here now. I love the fact that they have a lot of quality Imported products from Germany, Italy, Spain and other places and they have new products every time I go and the prices are amazing! There selection cheeses and deli are great and the organic products is getting better and better all the time and I feel like I get my grocery's done a lot quicker and for less money and if you try an Aldis brand product and didn't like it they will buy it back no questions asked. Tips: Bring a quarter for the shopping carts because they want to you return them to it place and then you get your quarter back, also bring your own reusable bags or you'll have to pay for them, but that's how it works in Europe and other partes of the US. Waited so long for this store to open. It opened yesterday and shelves were already empty the next day. They didn't even bother to update the flooring in the store. It looks like an old warehouse with shelf and bin units. What a disappointment. So sad that they didn't put a little more effort into making the place more aesthetically pleasing. Found other places to shop while they were closed for a few months. The salmon and the Argentian shrimp are awesome. Other than that, nothing is particularly spectacular. I always buy chicken breasts and farmed salmon from there. The only problem is that there are long lines at checkouts. But their low prices worth the long wait. Aldi is the Teutonic older brother of Trader Joe's and what it may lack in pizzazz, it more than makes up in prices, quality and selection. The theory behind the Aldi supermarket model is that by offering a no-frills store and distribution controlled by the company, Aldi can provide comparable products as any grocery chain, but at a fraction of the cost. When I grew up in Chicago, you would see Aldi's (Chicago stores, whether or not their real names are possessive, are always made possessive) out in the suburbs and they usually looked run down and dreary. This location is probably around a year or two old and is a new design type that looks fresh and clean. Food is stacked on pallets here and you might have to wander around a bit to find some items, but its a small store...it takes a minute to walk the whole thing. Selection wise, they offer almost all products you would find in a Publix but with only an Aldi version or possibly a name brand one as well. Highlights at Aldi include very tasty and cheap Prosecco, ORGANIC fresh veggies and fruits, awesome local Chicago products such as Turano bread and Gino's East frozen deep dish pizza, a wild selection of fancy cheeses and cheap nuts! Be ready to pay quickly and move that cart as the checkout is impressively speedy. read more

Great values. But lack of items is a problem..no jalapeños? No herbs? Annoying. Customer service is atrocious. No one is nice or friendly. No one is helpful. Lines are EXTREMELY long ALL OF THE TIME. And I live nearby so I visit often. It's funny how the lines are constantly so long but when u check out the cashier rushes you off so quickly, you hardly have time to grab your items out of the cart. One of my fellow Yelpers, had been telling me about Aldi in Broward, and I always looked at her funny, thinking to myself: "Does she intend for us to go to Aldi before or after drinks? Because food is going to spoil either way, or we will just buy crazy stuff after drinks. So, Aldi finally made it to the Northern regions of Miami-Dade County, about 3 miles away from my abode, and boy has it been an environmentally friendly pocket saver. Before I write anything further bring a quarter, and your own bags. You'll need the quarter to get a shopping cart, said quarter will be returned to you upon your returning the shopping cart to its proper place, once you hook the car into it's cradle, the quarter is spit out. Bring your own shopping bags because this place is environment friendly, so they curve the use of plastic bags by charging 6 to 10 cents per bag. They are also humane with their employees, as they provide them with high chairs for them to sit at the register (have you ever done an eight hour shift standing up at a register? It sucks!). When you walk in, you know you are in for something different - it does not look like your typical grocery store, and it is not as large either. The isles do not have those big signs above it telling you where everything is - Aldi is more like a bodega on steroids, there is a little bit of everything, and items are displayed in their original packing crates, and the great thing about this store is that they do not over stock items, so you are guaranteed fresh products. The produce section is limited, but the reason for this is that they only stock produce that is in season, therefore driving the prices down. Other items, such as toothpaste, and toilet paper - they carry generic brands of the brand names, and some basic brand names. I'm happy to share that I used the generic toilette paper, and it did what it was supposed to do without any discomfort (take that one, Charmin Bear!). I washed my clothes with the generic brand of detergent, and I didn't leave any dead flowers on my wake - it did the job just fine. Eventhough, I'm not a big drinker, and not much of a meat eater, I noticed that their wine selection is not too shabby, now let's not get crazy and presuppose that I'm talking about chi chi wines, just good plain everyday wine. I have it on good authority that their meat is good, as well. All in all, I'm down with Aldi, I don't mind bringing my own bags, and depositing a quarter for a shopping cart, nor do I mind only eating produce that is in season. What I like the most about this place is that it is cost efficient, and it gives a chance to some families with tight means, the opportunity to have a better diet by consuming affordable produce. read more

I love to buy here; I heard about it from my italian colleagues, they used to do wonderful comments about it, so I tried and since years every saturday morning I go there and buy for all the week, and time by time I have tried everything with satisfation, from the frozen to the cookies, to the yogurt. What bothers me lately is that if you go during the last 2 hours of opening you find it depressing. They don't replace fruit, vegetables, and what you find is empty boxes or shelves. I live really close to this Aldi so I often walk there to get my weekly groceries. I love their prices & the whole eco-friendly thing they have going on. I usually try to go really early when they still have lot's of fruit & veggies since I've noticed that by 5PM they have run out of a lot of things & what's left is not that fresh. Lines move pretty quick but not all cashiers are friendly. There is this one specific cashier lady that has black hair, lot's of ear piercings & hispanic that was pretty sassy/rude to me the last time I visited this store so I'll try to stay clear of her in my future visits. My recommendation would be to train your cashiers to offer better customer service and implement credit cards as a form of payment. read more

Their goal is to provide the best quality at the cheapest prices and it's noticeable upon checkout. Everything is so cheap here. The fact that more and more Aldi's are popping up around Miami makes it easier to access great prices, fresh and ripe veggies, houseware, and even skincare. It's a grocery store catering those who wish to escape the big conglomerate chains in the area on the search for finer goods at a more competitive price. As always, bring a quarter to redeem a cart and there's no bags at check out so come prepared. A few paper bags should do the trick and if you always keep them in your car, your trip will be easier to unload. I used to shop all the time here when I lived in Germany. Quality overall is good (although the produce could use some help), prices are very good (I remember them being excellent in the past). I don't think I'd switch from Publix being my main grocery store though. Their meats are far superior as well as the produce; however, like Trader Joe's this is a place to stock up on things. This Aldi is alright. Their non-perishable food items (chips, crackers, cereal, flour, sugar, etc.) are usually pretty cheap. Their milk is very watery, so buy it somewhere else, but their cheese, yogurt, butter, eggs, bread, and I guess all other essentials are priced cheaply and are of good quality. They have a vast selection of wines for cheap as well, and their meats are okay, and their frozen foods are usually very good as well. Be very careful with the fruits and vegetables though, sometimes they're a bit sneaky and will put the price for each pound when they actually mean the price per fruit, so watch the items as they ring up. This place overall is very good, considering its value for the price Be warned though, they don't accept credit cards, only debit cards, and they charge you for bags, so instead, get some cardboard boxes in store (sometimes they will put them in a bin to use) and use that to store your groceries. read more
