It's ALDIS, and if you don't know it's a German version of Costco married Trader Joe's and had a homely child. You pay a quarter in the cart to unlock its potential and roll on in past boxes that are shelving for those snack and impulse buying moments. Yes they know when you are most vulnerable. You won't recognize brands you love, you will feel like you are in a twilight zone where nothing is familiar in your home town grocers. Even the people are different. A tad bit harried and the staff bark at you if you aren't familiar with the fact they don't like their job, they won't explain anything so don't ask and no they won't help you bag or even give you a bag. It's ecological economical and dull. You gotta really want to save to come here over and over. Edit I seem to have reviewed this spot already.... Not worth the two reviews

I've been several times to this Aldi as this is the closest one to my home even it's a 20 minute drive. The one in north Miami is a similar distance but I like this store here better. But I like this Aldi also better than most. It was very busy and messy as expected with the holidays. Yet I had a cart and check out was very easy, the cashier was so friendly and helpful!

Mini croissants shown here, plus brioche rolls, and low-carb tortillas are among their expanded bread options.

Good quality food, at usually very low prices abound for many staples, and lately I am pleased to note much more low-carb, organic, paleo and/ or ketogenic diet options. Give them a look, and though their house brands may be different from what you're used to, you'll likely be quite pleased with your purchases and your wallet and budget will thank you. Their 'double cash-back guarantee' on most store brands means you generally can't ever be disappointed with a purchase!

For those of you who need to shop at a pretty supermarket palace, ALDI is not for you. This place is all about getting what you need at affordable prices. This doesn't mean you get poor quality however, most of the stuff I've tried has been on par with their name brand equivalents. Yes, it does take some getting used to the fact that there aren't 20 different types of peanut butter to choose from and an entire isle dedicated to sugary processed drinks, once you get over it you discover you really didn't need that in the first place. I'm glad to see that ALDI is pushing into the market to compete with the overpriced competition, it was long overdue.

You can save at Aldi, just be careful with produce and fruits, there are no refrigerated.

Staying i tonight after an good workout and busy day, I found them on UberEats. They have a pretty good spread of healthy stuff including juices , and I ordered their 6 oz chicken breast with vegetables and sweet potato, plus a side of black beans. My chicken breast was pretty close to the advertised weight (they also sell a 9 oz piece), clean yet tasty. I added a little of their cilantroish spicy sauce for flavor and a hint of a kick. The black beans (3 tsp for tonight and leftovers for tomorrow) had a good texture, as did the boiled sweet potato. This is legit healthy as it doesn't have the matshmallow and calorie inducing fluff of the erstwhile healthy fast food place. I passed on the broccoli as a matar of personal preference - maybe let us pick the veggies - but the sliced carrots that came with the order were yummy as well. The food was delivered promptly within the promised time.

Yes, I don't eat heavy so I was able to eat the lunch and dinner servings through out the day (4x a day I eat) and it was filling. Does there weight loss program work? NOPE! Considering this is all I ate.... I expected to loose something! Especially considering the amount of tasteless ground turkey I consuumed. Please still consider them as an option if you're not looking at their weight loss program, and do not plan to have the food for more than a few weeks, as the meals can get somewhat redundant. Especially coming from an Italian heavy city like Chicago I was very happy with the pasta. The salmon gnocchi is my go to. I dream about that dish. The salmon is always perfectly prepared and the gnocchi are delicious. My BFF and husband who have accompanied me on many occasions have tried various pastas from the menu and all were very good- especially the raviolis, but the salmon is my favorite so far and I'm a creature of habit. I have tried every dessert and I really like the Pavlova. But the chocolate cake they had the last time I went was amazing. I don't like very heavy chocolate desserts but it was perfect. The ambiance is great. I love that it's casual but the food is still elevated. The service was good for Miami. For Chicago? No. But definitely very good for Miami. So if you're coming from another city just remember Miamians move differently. Lol.
