First of all, their social media game is amazing. Follow them for laughs!…read more They have everything you need and it's a spacious and clean establishment. Love the mural on the wall and the kindness of the staff. Everything is very nicely organized. There's a butcher area, cafe, fresh food, and aisles of grocery staples from the Middle East. Love the spices, savory snacks, cookies, drink selection, and their fresh meats. We already went there before but tried the Too Good to Go app for their fresh bakery breads and it was sooo good. I highly recommend going there if you want to try new food and their daily specials. The desserts are heavenly and we really enjoyed the giant specialty cookies! A must try market and can't wait for their next pop up with Jiran Coffee!

Located in the same building as the classic Token Club, Yafa sits at the far left. Upon walking inside, you are greeted with a stunning mural highlighting Yafas Middle Eastern roots. From fresh affordable produce to Turkish coffee and grape leaves, not to mention the CAFE AND BAKERYYY, Yafa is your one stop shop. Whether you're indulging in the handcrafted hummus, pastries, schwarmas, falafel, or meal of the day; expect a joyful belly and happy heart. Not only is the food delightful, but the conversations with staff even more! As for faves; my favorite pastry is the vegetable pie of spinach, onion, and sumac. A game-changer pastry and refreshing to *finally* see sumac in European pastries in Louisville! The baklava is 99 cents. Everyone else in the neighborhood is $4+ for Baklava and even more for pastries, bread, and hummus. I'm also a big fan of the tahini version of garlic sauce. Different flavor than Safier but still incredible. It honestly balance with the pickles, tomatoes, and cucumber perfectly in the sandwiches. I'm a sucker for flavor balances where each note is enhanced by its neighboring ingredients! Which then leads to my love for the schwarmas and falafel! If you love Safier, then you will LOVE Yafa! The $6 hummus is a MASSIVE size and will feed a family. Not to mention I finally have fresh homemade labneh that I no longer have to recreate! One treat I love to grab once a year is the knafeh. My preference is the shredder over the fine box. It is incredible!

(My review is going to be for the Supermarket side of this business and not so much the restaurant…read moreside because 1) It's been a few years since we've eaten here and B) that wasn't an awesome time.) I love the aromas when you walk into a Mexican grocery store. Mexican food has such a wonderful palette that I instantly want to buy everything and start cooking for days. Supermercado Puebla isn't huge. In fact, it's on the small side, but what it lacks in square footage it makes up for in fully stocked shelves. There's seldom open shelf space, and while it may seem cramped and the aisles can be a little tight, it makes sense and everything is logically arranged. The meat counter in the back is a constant hub of activity, with 3 or 4 people cutting, packaging, and seasoning meats. The produce area is my favorite of the store, stocking fresh everyday veggies as well as Mexican veggies. And, hand to god, the best jalapeños I can find in town. Seriously THE BEST! Mexican is very much the prominent language here (expectedly), but for the most part the staff will do their best to help you find something or answer any questions. From seasonings to sauces to kitchen utensils to fresh cut meats to amazing produce to Mexican candies to glass-bottle Coke® (THE BEST!) Supermercado Puebla is as great as a neighborhood market.

Craving Mexican? This is the place for you! The supermarket…read moreand restaurant is an all in one. Their restaurant has all your favorites like burritos, $1.99 tacos, and even fajitas. Their salsa Verde sauce here is really really good! My tacos were all well seasoned, from asada to my chorizo and pollo. Tacos came with lots of cilantro and lime which was great. My 3 year old son ate all his chicken quesadillas too so you know the food isn't that bad, lol! They also have a supermarket where there have a diverse group of traditional sauces and spices. Lots of hot sauces, dried peppers, and even poultry. The diced steak is convenient if you want to make tacos at home. You can grab their traditional sweet bread from the bakery too. This place is a must see hidden gem!
