Welcome to Publix in paradise. Not like the ones I grew up with in Clearwater but prices are the same. Deli is good. Always busy. Produce is alright. Bakery is small. Floral is small. Employees are hit or miss with customer service. The store is always packed. Parking is available but difficult at times. Full of tourists, migrants, some locals, and the main problem is that there are only a few checkout lanes that are normal filled with door dash instacart and Uber Eats drivers with many orders and most don't speak English and are usually rude. Publix is great and this one was some quirks but mostly because of patrons. read more

It's a grocery store after all - fluorescent lights, aisles upon aisles of items, produce and meat and dairy found around the perimeter of the store. They also sell things like snorkels and other beach items which may be lower in price from the boutique shops in Old Town. Plenty of parking outside. Many shopping carts - including a number of "car" carts for kids! read more

While Publix itself here was great as usual I do have to say the pub sub station was incredibly slow and we seemed to be very easily misunderstood. Even the couple next to us that was ordering clearly seemed to be misunderstood by the workers. It's almost as if they don't know anything on their menu or what they offer. The vibes were off. It took an incredibly long time to get our sandwiches/wraps but at the very least they were good. Just don't come here when in a hurry. read more

If you are driving into Key West from the mainland and make a right onto N Roosevelt Blvd, you will see a shopping center on the left with a Publix in it. This is the closest Publix to Old town, so if you want to load up on groceries at a mega box store, this is one of your chances. Most of the shopping for groceries in the Old Town area would be in smaller mom and pop stores or convenience stores. We stopped here to get some cookies, since I had a craving for cookies as we arrived in Key West. Like all Publix stores, this one is well lit, nicely organized and it was easy to find the items I wanted. Nice staff. read more

So I came to Key West from West NY, the land of Wegmans. Publix really doesn't compare to the grocery stores up north. But for KW it's great. We commute from Old Town, where the mom and pop grocery prices are exorbitant. They're a little better here. Cheaper and nicer than Wynn Dixie. Salad selection is way better than WD too. Prices are still crazy compared to mainland, but that's to be expected since everything is shipped in. read more

Would not get subs from this Publix. The two workers there (one whose name started with an M) told me to hold a moment- which turned into 10 minutes; unclear why I was waiting. I asked for a sub with honey Turkey and provolone. I saw the Turkey did not look like the honey Turkey (appeared to have spices on it) and so I asked her to confirm that it was the Turkey I asked for. She said yes. When I got my sub, not only did it not have honey Turkey, but it also didn't have the right cheese I asked for. The worker also stuffed all of the toppings into the sub roll like it was a bowl- so it was a chaotic mess to eat. I had a few bites and tossed it. Would not come here again. read more

I work for a local organization and frequently purchase food platters from the Keys Plaza Publix deli and bakery for events. I recently placed a large order (over 22 platters) only to find out the day of that I ordered it on the wrong day, I was scheduled to pick it up on Friday and my event was on Thursday! Major panic set in and I called to speak with the person in charge. Meredith Morales, the deli manager got on the phone and listened to my dilemma as I "dramatically" conveyed my problem. She and the manager of the bakery, Luna, rallied their teams to put together all of my bakery platters and almost all of the deli platters only skipping those they did not have the supplies for, wow! They are amazing and I appreciate them going the extra mile to help a local organization in need! read more

I want to love this publix but the first impression is bad with the smell of employees smoking just outside the doors. The cigarette smell is so strong you can smell it half a parking lot away. If it's not employees sneaking a smoke out front its homeless asking for money. The store needs to police the parking lot and store entrance more. You never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression. Inside the deli has a pick a number system but employees allow customers to jump the line by jumping in asking for item while people with numbers have to wait longer. read more

Poor service at the pub sub sandwich bar. The female working today at lunch was rude and lacked serious customer service. Ordered a sandwich and she left out most of the items and seemed like we were burdening her. The men working the station were helpful and took care of us. read more

Florist Department Publix Employee Denied me Services. I stopped by the Publix florist the day before and more than 24hrs before I needed a graduation bouquet. The lady that has been working there for long time said that she didn't have the time to put anything together for me because she had to much work due for Mother's Day and to comeback the next day and pick one from the pre-made ones. I came back the next day and asked her again to put a quick bouquet for me but she didn't want to do it. I then picked a Mother's Day bouquet for $59 but had the cellophane wrap with the price. I removed the cellphone at home and tried to fix the other paper but had to comeback to the Publix florist for a ribbon or something to keep the paper together. Then I saw the same florist lady making a quick bouquet. Very nice and simple. I asked her what she didn't want to do something like that for me and she said that the flowers need to be in water and more excuses. I asked who was that for thinking maybe it was for a wedding or something more important than a graduation and she said it's for a guy. Basically she prepared a bouquet in no time at all for someone else but she wouldn't do it for me even though I came early the day before. That's great customer care. Really great little store. First time on this side of the country and I had never heard of Publix before. Needed to pick up all our vacation food and drink essentials and they had a great selection of things to choose from. Really nice deli and bakery items. I ordered my WEDDING CAKE very far in advance from Key Plaza Publix. I paid in full prior to my WEDDING and even paid extra for delivery. the day of my WEDDING I received NO CAKE. My wedding planner called multiple times and Publix never made my WEDDING CAKE. terrible. read more

This Publix location is smaller than the Searstown Publix, but talk about clean and well-stocked. This location has a great variety of organic fruits and veggies, meats from Applegate Farms, vegetarian and vegan frozen foods, G.T. Kombucha, natural meal bars and powders, vitamins and a small natural and organic bulk snacks section. As for brands, you'll find the likes of Amy's, Food For Life, Ezekiel 4:9, Raw Revolution, Turtle Island, Tofurkey, Muir Glen, Newman's Own Organics, Light Life, Westbrae and Envirokids. That's not to say that you'll also find Kraft Mac and Cheese and A-1 Sauce here as well. Plenty of parking and less crowded than the other location. read more

This place makes Wal-Mart employees look like Nodstrom associates A couple samples 1 - excuse me, do you know where the oil is. Guy looks at me, looks around, "nah, no I don't" and goes back to what he is doign 2 - associate stalking shelves in asian aisle. I'm standing right next to him and say to my wife " I guess they don't have Siracha" . The guy ignores me, and keeps stocking shelves. Maybe the other publix, located .5 miles down the same freaking road, is better I doubt it Really there was nothing special about this publix. It was a generic grocery store. Slightly inflated prices. Hard to find stuff. Associates with no interest in helping you But heck, your on Key west, what were you expecting? Midwest hospitality. Ordered a chicken salad wrap at the deli for an early lunch before leaving the Keys to head on home. There was no line, the employees were friendly, except for the lady who made my wrap who had a grouchy look the whole time. I had a few post cards that I wanted to mail out before I left the island and had a hard time finding a blue box as my internet connection almost anywhere sucked. So I asked an employee at check out if she knew. She and another check out employee didn't know, so they called the manager over. The manager said she could put the postcards in her drop box for the mail man to come pick up. So I did that, she was really nice! Overall, this Publix was really clean just like any other Publix. Purchase some frozen fish and I misread the label. Lost the receipt. Packaged unopened. Call just to confirm they would take it back and customer service said yes. Drove it there only to be told NO ! Publix is my go to place for food and supplies when I travel I know I'll get the same quality at each one in FL. Restaurants are expensive in the keys and since I'm here a while I like to go get wings or daily special at there hot deli and at night some items are market down. The Floral department service was outstanding. We had our wedding in Key West in December of 2013. 3 days before the wedding I went to Publix to order 5 bouquets and a boutonniere. Lisa in the floral department was extremely nice, helpful, and kind. She walked me through and gave me several ideas (because I didn't really have any.) To say I was overwhelmed with joy and surprise would be an understatement. They came out perfect, better than I could have ever dreamed. ^^ This is 3 1/2 stars. Better known around town as "the new Publix", it took the place of an Albertson's a few years back. This Publix is larger and has easier parking than "the old Publix" across the street in the Sears plaza, with easier street access without having to go up a ramp to enter the store. The deli counter is decent with Boar's Head products, as-is the produce section which carries a lot of seasonal exotic fruits such as star fruit, mango, papaya, avocado, etc. The wine section is on the far left side and you are able to purchase any time including Sundays. The protein bars are by the vitamins at the front left as well. A good local store with friendly staff and quick cashiers. read more

Publix seems to be the place to go for most of your grocery needs. This location is clean and organized but the prices are somewhat high. That's not surprising since they need to get practically everything shipped in. What struck me as odd was how expensive the seafood was, though. A number of fish and shellfish seemed to be local varieties but were quite pricey. And, as others stated, it can be somewhat of a challenge to find an employee to help you locate anything. However, this is still a nicer store than the Publix at Searstown I'm told. read more

His employees are very friendly despite being a very busy store. I also love the online ordering available now through the deli case...it avoids waiting in line...and you pick up near the salad bar in a refrigerated case. Cheers to a great store. Horrible experience at this store tonight. Employees everywhere with attitudes. Stocking shelves blocking the isle & I had to move their carts to pass by. I bagged my own groceries & had to get bags from other check out line while employees walked by like they couldn't be bothered. Then while paying the cashier he left & disappeared while I waited for him to return. The other cashier was on his phone texting. Please avoid this place on Monday night. This Publix is located very close to the other one, which seems a bit strange. They have everything you want in a grocery store, including a large and nice deli. They carry a better selection of wines here than the stores in Orlando. Publix has a high quality standard, all the stores are clean, well stocked, and have helpful employees. Today I went to Publix to buy groceries, I bought beef hot dogs, there was buy one and get the second free but there was only one package, when I was ready to pay I told to the nice lady at the cash register what happened and she called a lady , the lady came , she looks already mad and she was so rude, and with a very bad attitude she told me if there was not other she can write a note on my receipt and I can come another day ,but I need to pay the full amount, at that point I didn't care about the money but I said no, why you do not charge me half of the price, she left mad to check if it was true that there was not more beef hot dogs, and she came and she said , look there is more over there and she wants me to take the hot dog package and I said it is not the same , it is pork, she look at me like , Whatever! .She was so rude, and I say I want a refund and she walked so mad and gave me the refund without saying one word read more
